A/N - Shitty chapter, I know, but it's something. I need to start updating more often. Sorry for the delay, but I hope you enjoy this chapter, cause I sure as hell didn't.
Maya - I am using Google Translate for the German in this story, and I knew it was going to be bad. I'm actually learning German this year in school, so hopefully that'll make it better.
BobtheFrog - First of all, I love your name. And secondly... I know right? He's adorable! ;)

We were walking around in the middle of nowhere. I had no idea where we were. Babe was leading our patrol, but I was sure he's got us lost. I had my hands stuffed in my pockets as Babe carried a rifle and looked around, talking to Spina about his new foxhole buddy being a virgin.
I snickered and shook my head as we continued on, focusing all my attention on the sight of my breath in front of me. I've never been so cold in all my life. Most of the soldiers around here thought I was a guy still, as I always tied my hair up and pinned it underneath my helmet.
I was short, but they just assumed I was little like Perconte.
"Babe, where the hell are we?" Spina questioned, his hands in his pockets as well.
Babe stopped for a short moment, looking around before walking left, "This way."
"I don't like it," Spina said, his voice shaking as he shivered, "Where the hell is third battalion?"
"I don't know, but I wish they made camp a little closer, my ass is about ready to freeze over and fall off," I snapped irritably, chuckling a little.
Spina snickered and all the sudden we heard a loud snapping of branches and Babe fell into a hole. He grunted when he landed and Spina started snickering, "Shit."
We all chuckled about it until we heard a German voice start yelling. Babe turned back to us and held out one of his hands, "C'mon, get me out of here, would ye'?"
Me and Spina grabbed Babe's arm and started pulling him out of the hole, "C'mon!" He called quietly, urgently. Me and Spina pulled him out of the trap and we all started running as the German soldier popped up and aimed his rifle at us. He fired a couple of rounds, but we just kept running.
"Would ye' go a little faster, Spina?" I called as Babe held his helmet to his head.
"I'm going as fast as I can," Spina called back to us quietly as he continued to run, "If you haven't noticed, we're in two feet of snow!"
"Just go!" I snapped, holding my helmet to my head as well.
It was going to be another long day.
We could only get a few bandages off of third battalion when we finally found them, they just told us to go back to Bastogne to get what else we needed. Babe bitched and moaned about it the entire way back, how we went all that way to find third, and they didn't have what we needed.
Right now, me, Babe and Luz were sitting in a small circle, eating some kind of stew of sorts. It wasn't very good, but it was something to fill our bellies. I gladly ate it as Luz and Babe joked around.
"I'm tellin' ye', when I get home, I'm gonna marry a beautiful brunette and we're going to have a bunch of little George Juniors," George smiled, shoving a spoonful of slop into his mouth.
"George Juniors? Sounds like fun at the holiday season," I smirked, causing George to smack me on the arm lightly.
"Shut it, Taylor! I bet you don't gotta man back home, waitin' for you!" George snapped, but in a loving way.
I shook my head, "Nope. I'm a free woman."
"Hey, don't worry, Tay, there's someone out there for ye'," Babe smiled, tapping my arm sweetly.
"Yeah, that's one lucky bastard, too," I smiled, making the other two laugh.
"Hey, I'd go out with ye'," Babe smiled, chuckling a little.
"Awe, how sweet," I smiled, "I'd go out with you too, Babe."
"Hey, you're already callin' me Babe!" He scoffed, throwing his arm out to the side.
I rolled my eyes as Luz spoke up, "Alright, you two love birds. Enough of the lovey dovey chit chat. It's disgusting me."
"Shut up, Luz. You know when you get married you'll be making a lot of lovey dovey chit chat," I said, smacking him on the arm.
Luz smirked and stood up, "Yeah, in the bedroom."
He then walked off.
"Aw, Jesus Luz! Thanks for that picture!" I called after him as he walked off. He turned to me and smiled, giving me a thumbs up before walking back to his foxhole.
I shook my head and turned back to my dinner, "Ever had anyone special, Taylor?"
I shrugged, "No, not really."
"C'mon," Babe slumped his shoulders, "Even little boyfriends. Anybody?"
"Well, yeah, I've had boyfriends, but none of them mattered to me," I said.
"Okay, who was the most important one to you?" Babe asked, stirring his slop around in his cup.
"Well, Ian was my boyfriend when I was fifteen," I said, "We were in Science class together. I didn't speak to him all year until like, the last three days. We kind of hit it off. We both liked art and movies, and we both were in the same social class."
"What social class was that?" Babe asked.
"We were the smart kids," I shrugged, "We started going out that summer and… Well… We dated for a couple of years, and when we were seventeen, we…"
"Did the deed?" Babe snickered.
"Shut up," I smiled, rolling my eyes, "Yes, we did that thing. We dated for a few more months, then this girl got in between us, and things went downhill from there."
"Nasty love triangles, been there done that," Babe nodded, finishing up his dinner.
"Really?" I smiled, resting my chin in my hand.
Babe nodded, "Yeah, it was me, this girl named Shalia, and a baseball player named William. She chose him of course, but this wasn't as complex as your situation."
I nodded and smiled knowingly, "Well, it's all in the past. It don't matter ta' me anymore."
"Didn't ye' love 'im though?" Babe asked, holding his cup in both his hands. I looked up at his face and saw how red his nose was and how bad he was shivering. It was terrible how much these men endured.
I nodded at his question, "Yeah… But apparently he didn't love me back. That's why I'm never getting married or seein' another guy again."
Later that night, I was sitting in a foxhole with Liebgott and another soldier named Elliot, singing a song about God knows what. We were just trying to have fun in this terrible place.
The boys and I sang loudly, but quiet enough to keep from the German's hearing us. We were all smiling widely and having a good time. We all had our hands stuffed in the pockets of our coats and our helmets shoved as far over our ears as possible.
"Hey Leibgott, Elliot, Taylor, got any morphine to spare?" Came the soft Cajun voice of Doc Roe.
"No, got spared in Holland," Lieb said, but Elliot pulled out a syringe from his breast pocket.
"Hey, you ain't usin' this stuff for like personal reasons, are ye' Doc?" Elliot asked, making me and Lieb chuckle, "C'mon," Elliot started conducting us again as Doc snatched the syringe out of Elliot's hand and took off down the line of foxholes.
Me and the boys continued to sing happily, Elliot used his hands to 'conduct' us and we all just laughed and sang. But it ended sooner than later.
"Hey, will you three shut the hell up? Are ye' tryin' get us all killed?" Bill Guarnere snapped as he stopped in front of our foxhole.
"Sorry," I smirked, looking down at my coat pockets.
"Yeah, ye' better be," Bill said before turning on his heel and running after Doc.
I smiled and looked up at the boys, "Well, I guess that's that."
"Yeah," Lieb smirked, looking around the area, "I'm gonna go back to our foxhole. I'm getting' tired."
"Yeah, I'm comin' too," I said, yawning, "It's been a long day," I stood and climbed out of the foxhole after Lieb, "Night Elliot."
"Goodnight," He smiled, looking out to the snow in front of him as me and Lieb walked back to our foxhole.
It was quiet between us the whole way there, neither of us knew what to say. As we reached the foxhole and climbed down into it, tucking ourselves away, trying to get warm, I finally spoke, "I got patrol again in the morning."
"Really? Again?" Lieb asked incredulously.
I nodded, "Yeah, it sucks right?"
He nodded in return, "Yeah. I'm just watching the line tomorrow with Elliot and Buck."
"Sounds like fun," I snickered.
"I can ask Winters if I can go on the patrol with ye'," Lieb said, "Instead of… Who's goin' with ye'?"
"Malarkey," I replied, but them furrowed my eyebrows in curious confusion, "Why would you want to go on patrol with me?"
"To… Ye' know… Uh…" He was at a loss for words.
I smirked at how cute he was when he was nervous. Wait… Did I just call Liebgott cute? I shrugged it off and smiled at him as he continued to stutter, "You know what, forget I asked."
Lieb smiled and nodded, averting eye contact as his face flushed. I smiled and shook my head, rolling my eyes, "Goodnight Lieb."
"Goodnight Tay," He said back to me.
I smiled and rolled onto my side, looking at the wall of the foxhole. He wanted to go on that patrol because I was going, there was no other reason he'd want to go, unless he had a death wish. I sighed and tried thinking of other things as I fell into a deep sleep.
