I sat by the man's side for two days. I haven't moved since I laid him down even though I really needed to hunt. The constant reminder of what I am was burning intently now. But I couldn't tear my eyes away from his face. I wanted so badly to give into the creature I was and just feed on him but I know it wouldn't matter. He was poisoned by me and now he too cannot die so easily.

He started changing noticeably only a few minutes after I bit him. His scent was slowly changing and it was a very confusing scent, not one I could describe properly His heartbeat started going faster and faster and I thought he wasn't going to make it, that his heart would just give up but the drumming continued. His skin grew a shade lighter every hour and the muscles in his body would quiver so often. They were changing, they were becoming strong as diamond. He stopped thrashing so much the second day and just whimpered. I guess he knew by now that screaming wouldn't help and that moving around didn't make the pain ago away. You couldn't run or out scream the fire; it was burning inside you.

I knew I had to tell him what he was becoming, why he was changing. But I kept dragging it out and trying to find the right words. But is there a proper way to do this? I just can't say "hi, you're a vampire now created to fight some other vampires" or "my name is Bella and I'm a monster, soon you will be too." What am I supposed to do? How do I tell him?

"My name is Bella Swan." The words poured out of my lips easily. His eyes locked on mine and he clenched his teeth and let out a vicious snarl and I shut up. Thankfully it's not the right time yet.

"Bella. Come here." Evelyn San out to me and I got up and was at her side in a minute.

"Give up this crap for God's sake! You're a vampire and you have been for a while now."

"Doesn't mean I like it." My voice was flat, absolutely no emotion could be detected. Evelyn stepped closer to me so that she was only an inch from my face.

"Do I look like I give a damn about what you like? I don't. You're not going to fill his head on how much you think it sucks being a vampire or anything of the sort. You're going to pretend you love it. You're going to stop babying him and grow up. You can't change the past bitch, remember that. You're going to change a lot more people so get use to it fast. Times almost up, it won't be long until he's fully changed. I want to go feed."

I kept my face very still and nodded once. I watched her as she flew around the then and I let out my breath. Dehumanize. Dehumanize. That's all I could think of to keep my head on straight. Why do I have to worry about him or what I should say. There's no need. I'm going to pretend that I don't feel anything for these humans. I can't afford to feel like this anymore. She was right. How many times am I going to have to do this? Twenty? Fifty? A hundred? It's time to fully become the monster that I am. I walked back to where he was and I just stood over him. I let out all of my emotion in one heavy sigh and that was it. I no longer see a human face in pain and having his life taken away. I just see a face.

On the third day around noon his heart started to go even faster! It sounded like it was going to beat right out of his chest. He started to wiggle his fingers then his toes, be kept blinking and stopped breathing. His heart went faster and faster until it beat it's very last beat. It was over now. He was changed. Evelyn raced over to him, Roy not far behind. Perfect timing. I could feel a hiss working in my throat and I took all my strength to suppress it. I don't want to get them angry or frighten the newborn.

"What is your name?" Evelyn asked the man who was still laying down, just staring at her face. His eyes now red instead of the ice blue that they were. His skin now pale white and ice cold.

He didn't answer he just hissed at all of us, his eyes flickering around.

"How old are you?" Roy asked while Evelyn was looking over her new victim.

He hissed again and bounded to his feet and slipped into a crouch, whipping his head back in forth as if to organize his thoughts. He looked so different from when I first bit him. Everything about him was raw hostility towards all of us. And yet how did I expect him to react?

"Perfect! Oh so perfect! Look at how much rage is in him! I hope they're all like this. The others won't have a chance." Evelyn shrieked like a child opening presents on Christmas.

Brandon hissed, I could have swore I seen venom pouring out of his lips and he started to move towards Evelyn and she went down into a crouch and hissed at him. The monster coming right out of her.

"I'm your master, you rat." Evelyn's voice rang with authority and the man hissed back, showing his teeth. She held her chin high and kicked him in the face so hard his jaw nearly came off. It looked cracked but only for a second, if I was human I would have thought my mind made it up. Brandon leapt up into crouch and flew at her. Out of no where Roy grabbed him by the throat and lifted him of the ground.

"Stop it or you will die." I used my handy gift to get inside the man's head and it was just enough to break his focus. He stared intently into my eyes and his body went limp. After a moment Roy let him go, guessing he smartened up. When Roy let him so it wasn't half a second until the man leaped a me. I braced myself, remember what Evelyn taught me about fighting. I grabbed onto the man's shoulders and flipped him over my body and he landed in his back making the pipe beneath him shudder and crack slightly. I put my foot under his chin and pressed down hard, even though he doesn't need to breathe now it is wry uncomfortable, especially to a newborn. He tried to struggle against me and I put my other foot on his groin and applied pressure. Even though he wasn't a human he still had man-parts which can still feel pain. Another trick Evelyn showed me while demonstrating on Roy.

"Calm down or I will end you." I hissed at him, applying more pressure on my feet.

"Bella will explain everything to you now. She can deal with you and when Bella says it's okay we go hunting." And then she and Roy were gone. I sighed heavily and looked at the man

"Your voice was in my head!" His voice was still a hiss but his body language was more civil towards me considering I was ready to end his life.

"It's a gift of mine. Listen. The first piece of advice is not to piss her off. Ever. Okay? "

His body tensed when I mentioned her. It gave me a little flutter to know he probably hates her as much as I do without even knowing what she done; even though it was because he was a newborn.

"You had a family?" I asked him. His eyes went distant and he thought about it for a few minutes, pain evident in his face and I knew he was going through his human memories. I remembered how hard it was to recall my human memories, faces. I seen recognition on his face so I continued.

"She will kill everyone you care about. In the most horrific ways. "

"Who are you!?" He leapt up out of my hold, so close his nose was almost touching mine.

"I'm Bella Swan. And now we're vampires. We have inhuman strength. Inhuman beauty. Inhuman speed. We don't show ourselves in the sunlight. Humans cannot know our secret. You have been created for one single purpose. They are creating an army of vampires to take over land that other vampires have claimed. Welcome to the army. What's your name?" My voice was flat and emotionless.

"Brandon."

Brandon stared at me blankly for a second and then nodded. He dashed across the room then again and again. He touched the edge of the pipe walking around us and it carved easily with his touch. I let him go on testing his new abilities until we both heard the other two coming back. Brandon got down into his crouch again and started hissing violently and that's when I caught the whiff of human blood. Evelyn was walking down the hall, Roy not far behind her. Evelyn was half dragging a whimpering young girl who couldn't be older than fifteen. Brandon went full speed at the vampire and nearly ripped the girl to shreds in less than a second. Brandon looked up to Evelyn and she looked down at him with the coldest stare possible.

"And do you have questions?" Evelyn asked him.

"No" He answered licking the blood off his lips.

"Oh you're going to be perfect! Isn't he just perfect? Come on, let's go hunt for more!" Evelyn said squeezing my shoulders and taking Roy's hand, not even looking back at Brandon. I nodded towards him to follow and he did in the monster stance, moving low to the ground. I let Brandon pass me and finally we got to the manhole where we escape. Brandon looked at Evelyn for reassurance and he jumped up. I knew then for sure he trusted Evelyn completely, he no longer hated her. She gave him exactly what he desired the very most. Blood. I followed feeling more alone and betrayed than ever. I really counted on him hating her as I did but he didn't. And I knew that none of them now would.

There must have been a party or something happening because the usually deserted alley was crawling with humans.

"Enjoy." Evelyn said as Brandon pounced on his second kill of the night.
