As we get closer and closer to where I last saw Frodo, I start to hear voices.

"Give it to me!"

"No!"

"Give it to me!"

"No!"

My eyes widen and I call to Aragorn. Brother, Boromir is trying to take the ring from him! I see Aragorn pause for a moment, before resuming in his pace, with renewed vigor.

"You will betray us! You'll go to your death, and the death of us all!" Boromir's voice rings through and I continue pushing of my grips on each of the trees flying past. "Curse you! Curse you and all the halflings!" I almost growl at his words, but then his shouting stops. All we can do is hope for the best.

"Frodo I'm sorry!" Then another of his screams rings clear.

"Aragorn! I cannot see him. He has put on the ring! His eye draws ever nearer." I say shivering slightly, bringing myself to the floor to run next to him.

"Then we must find him, but there is but a slim chance-" We reach a small clearing, and lying on the grassy ground next to a stone structure, lies Frodo.

"Frodo?" Aragorn questions. Frodo jumps, and turns to see us.

"It has taken Boromir." Frodo says.

"Where is the ring Frodo?" I ask gravely, feeling my darker side come through, my eyes sharp. We cannot allow Boromir to have the ring.

"Stay away!" Frodo yells at me, recoiling from our advances.

"Frodo!" Aragorn says, chasing after him, pushing me behind with an unwavering glare.

"I swore to protect you." Aragorn relays to Frodo.

"Can you protect me from yourself?" He asks back warily.

I realise how my question must have come on, and bow my head in apology. But out of the corner of my eye, I see Frodo open his palm and the gleam of the ring.

"Would you destroy it?" My eyes widen as I hear the voices from the ring. They called his name.

"Aragorn… Aragorn… Ellesar…" My brother moves forward, and drops to his knees in front of Frodo, his hand resting above the ring.

I release a breath I realise I had been holding as Aragorn closes Frodo's hand around the ring.

"I would have gone with you to the end." Aragorn says. "Into the very fires of Mordor."

"And you?" Frodo turns to me. My face goes blank at his question. "Out of all the fellowship, somehow, you manage to keep the most secrets." My breaths become deeper at his statement.

"I am yet to see you smile." He mumbles at me, and my eyes soften.

"That would be because I am yet to find something to smile at." I whisper. "If I were Elrond, I would've slit Isilder's throat and tossed that ring back into the fiery depths from which it came."

Frodo smiles at my comment, and I return the smile.

"I know." He says. "Look after the others. Especially Sam. He will not understand." He says, turning to eyes sharpen at the sudden sight of light and I draw Pantië.

"Go Frodo!" Aragorn says, and Frodo turns back to the boats. "Run. Run!" Aragorn encourages him, and we stand side by side, together, swords drawn, ready to fight.

The uruk-hai before us stumble up to us, and I smile at the thought of beheading a few more orcs. They swing their weapons and Aragorn and I both dodge in the same direction before slicing through both orc upon us. We separate slightly and I start to spin my sword at a fast speed around me, killing any uruk-hai that come near. Their numbers are great however and as we both defend ourselves Aragorn is backed up the stairs of the old stone structure while I jump up nimbly to help him keep the uruk-hai coming up the stairs.

However I hear the leader screaming orders at them.

"Find the Halfling! Find the Halfling!" And so both he and I jump into the uruk-hai running after Frodo, swinging our swords endlessly. Then out of nowhere Legolas and Gimli appear, holding our backs.

"Aragorn, go!" Legolas tells him, and I clear the way for him to go after Frodo, by throwing my double-ended sword through the orcs, embedding it into the nearest tree. I take out my bow fluidly and shoot down the orcs around Gimli with Legolas. Legolas moves forward slightly and I shove an arrow through the body of an Uruk nearing behind us, before shooting it accurately ito the skull of a particularly grimy Uruk about to swipe at Gimli.

Then I hear their voices, through the forest.

"Hey! Hey you! Over here!"

"Hey! This way!"

I glance at Legolas and know that he has heard what I have, and I move to collect my sword. Legolas brings out his two knives, and we jump over and under each over, killing the uruks as we go, not a single weapon closing near to us. We follow after Aragorn and Legolas moves back to his bow as I quickly but the majority of my arrows into his quiver, and I slice through an uruk holding Aragorn to a tree.

Suddenly, a low ring flows through the air, and Legolas responds immediately.

"The horn of Gondor."

"Boromir!" Aragorn says, and starts running towards the sound. I break away from them and jump into the trees once more, travelling at a mightier speed. Merry and Pipin come into view, throwing stones and rocks at the oncoming uruks, Boromir in front defending with his shortsword.

I leap down with ferocity, well ahead of Aragorn, Legolas, cutting down the few orcs that had been facing Boromir. The Uruks pause, growling at me, and I crouch low, growling in an animalistic nature. And then the battle resumes. I fight alongside Boromir, defending the hobbits, slicing through uruk after uruk, yet not gaining a scratch. I fight and fight and catch sight of the leader from before, clutching a dirtied bow and arrows. My sensitive hearing catches the sound of an arrow being released onto Boromir, and I swing my sword, hitting the arrow head away. I glare dangerously at the leader while Boromir utters silent thanks.

But then I hear orders that were unexpected.

"Take the she-elf! The master wants her!" I frown and cut down another uruk, but just as quick, an Uruk or maybe two grab me from behind. I reach back and take an arrow and plunge it through an Uruk but struggle as more and more Uruks grab hold of my body. They cover me and my breathing quickens at my dislike for the lack of space around me.

Within a moment however I see light and Uruks are sliced off me and I see the face of Bormir, but his chest impaled by two arrows. I bring my blade around me, killing the Uruks once covering me but then another arrow strikes his chest, and Boromir falls to the floor. I swing my blade once more, but I know he cannot be saved. Three arrows to the chest. I then hear the screaming behind me and the two hobbits have been lifted up and carried away by the Uruk-hai, and I feel my blood boil. I try to run to them but more Uruk-hai fight against me, and as I tear down another and another, the hobbits get further and further away. I run with the pack, cutting down more and more as I don't tire.

I cut down the last Uruk-hai fighting me, and look up to where the rest used to be. I can still see them, a black storm cloud against the soft wood, but I stop at my brothers voice. Azthryth, where are you? Boromir is down. He calls to me. I close my lids in defeat and turn to where I had come from. I followed Merry and Pipin, but the Uruk-hai have taken them too far for you to catch up. I am coming. I move slowly back to the original battlefield, and I see Aragorn leaning over Boromir, and I hear the faint words panting out of the fallen Gondorian.

"I have failed you all."

"No, Boromir. You fought bravely. You have kept your honour." Aragorn tells him, and tries to tend to his wounds.

"Leave it! It is over." Boromir stops him feverishly. "The world of men will fall. And all will come to darkness… and my city to ruin."

"I do not know what strength is in my blood, but I swear to you, I will not let the white city fall…" Aragorn promises him. "…Nor our people fail."

I take a sharp breath as I hear his words, and stop next to him, watching the sad encounter.

"Our people. Our people." Boromir holds his sword as tightly as a dead man can, and I hear the light footsteps of Legolas approaching.

"I would have followed you my brother." Boromir tells Aragorn. "And sister." He says, looking at me. "My captains. My King."

As Boromir takes his last breath, I feel the arms of Legolas curl around me, and I lean into his chest, feeling the weight of the familiar exhaustion after a battle. This may not have been the one with most bloodshed, but it was one that would be easy to remember.

"Be at peace, son of Gondor." Aragorn says softly, and I feel Legolas' lips in my hair.

"They will look for his coming at the white tower. But he shall not return." Aragorn says. Legolas carries his body back to the canoes, where we lay it gently with his sword and shield in one, which we leave to fly down the waterfall. I feel sorrow in my heart as the canoe disappears, usually those who fall in battle are unknown to me. But we tie up Aragorn's wounds, as well as a few light scratches on Gimli to his dismay, and Legolas starts to push the last canoe out.

"Hurry! Frodo and Sam have reached the eastern shore." Legolas turns to us, where Aragorn and us are unmoved.

"We do not follow them." I tell him and Gimli, and he frowns.

"You mean not to follow them." Legolas repeats.

"Frodo's fate is no longer in our hands." Aragorn says.

"Then it has all been in vain. The fellowship has failed." Gimli says sadly, but with an obvious grit to his voice. I move to Legolas, and he holds me in his arms.

"Not if we hold true to each other." Aragorn says, putting a hand on Gimli's and Legolas' shoulder. "We will not abandon Merry and Pipin to torment and death. Not while we still have strength left. Leave all that can be spared behind. We travel light. Let's hunt some orc."

I smile at my little brother, and sheath my sword, and step forwards after him.

"Yes!" I hear Gimli roar from behind me. I leap after Aragorn, but feel my body being turned around, as Legolas plants a light kiss onto my lips.

"Oh stop with all your romance! Didn't you hear him? Let's kill some orc pointy-eared lass!" Gimli yells as we break away, and I leap into the forest after Aragorn, a determined smile on my face.

Please review! Constructive criticism is always welcome. I'm sorry this took such a long time to come out, but my laptop got wiped and there was a load of annoying stuff I had to get through in order to get my files back. This is quite a short chapter, but I decided I had to end it here because it's the end of The Fellowship of the Ring! Thank you for the reviews, follows and favourites and I hope you enjoyed it!
