Upon reaching the end of the street Narcissa heard someone running after her and yelling her name.

She turned immediately.

It was Ted. "Dromeda's waters broke! The baby is coming!" he shouted, with a panicked expression.

Narcissa was quick to follow him back. The labour took the better part of 18 hours and with everything that followed after, Narcissa arrived back at the manor ,two days later than she was expected.

"Lucius! Lucius!" Narcissa called out, still feeling elated as she dropped her case next to the door. No one answered. There was only an eerie silence.

Narcissa felt her brow crease. "Lucius?" she called up the stairs but heard nothing in return. With growing concern, she climbed the staircase and made her way towards Lucius's study. He should be back from work.

With a creak of the door Narcissa slowly opened it and peered inside but the room was empty. Narcissa was about to leave when she spotted sheets and sheets of parchment strewed all over Lucius's desk. The mess fueled her curiosity and she moved towards the table. Immediately though her eyes shot open. Blind panic took Narcissa as she recognised the the hand writing. Suddenly Narcissa's heart was straining furiously in her chest as she gazed at the pile of letters...Ted's letters.

Narcissa had to grip onto the table for support. "Oh my god," She choked out, "Oh my god! Oh my god!"

Narcissa's frantic hands searched through the piles of parchment and a number of them floated onto the floor. Mingled amongst the letters were copies of the daily prophet and each copy had been turned to the missing person's page…missing?

"DOBBY!" Narcissa cried as she bolted out of the study.

"DOBBY! " she shouted as she ran back to the entrance hall.

The elf was already there and standing looking back at her with his tennis ball sized eyes.

"Where is Lucius?" Narcissa asked

Dobby bowed his head "Miss."

"Where is he?" she demanded this time.

"I'm sorry. I don't know Miss Bla-"

Fury contorted Narcissa's features. "Are you lying to me?!"

Dobby held up his hands "Never, Miss!" he squeaked, " Master has been acting so strange... been muttering things about his dead mother before he left."

Narcissa voice cracked "Left for where?!"

"I don't know," Dobby wailed.

Just then Narcissa heard the familiar sound of burning and she knew that someone had arrived in the manor. Damn. I thought he had already disconnected the floor network.

"Lucius," an agitated voice called.

Narcissa's heart stopped. Oh no...

Without warning Bellatrix emerged from the drawing room and her eyes widened as she spotted her sister.

"What are you doing here?" They both asked each other simultaneously.

"Aren't you meant to be gallivanting about England?" Bellatrix remarked then.

Narcissa answered the sarcastic comment with a roll of her eyes. "Why do you need Lucius?"she asked without ceremony.

Bellatrix had her hands on her hips. "Like I told to him yesterday, Lord Voldmort wants to see him. Is he here?"

"Why does he want to see Lucius?" Narcissa asked sharply.

Bellatrix narrowed her eyes at her sisters tone. "To ask Lucius why hasn't been turning up for his gatherings…and you for that matter."

Narcissa scoffed. "Since when did you become Lord Voldmort's lap dog?"

Bellatrix immediately drew forward with her jaw clenched and wand drawn. At this point both sisters stood tall as they faced off. The tension crackled between them but Narcissa had far more important things to worry about.

"Give your pathetic tough woman act a rest Bellatrix and get out of my house," Narcissa declared.

There was silence for a time.

"Well. Well. Look how loyalties change,"Bellatrix slowly replied. What unsettled Narcissa was the glee in her voice, "I don't think that is a smart move on your part. The last I heard Lucius came to visit me at Rodolphus's manor because he was completely furious with you. "

This made Narcissa's heart seize and slight beads of cold sweat inched down her back.

Knowing her work was done, Bellatrix turned to leave. Her cackle echoed in the manor long after her departure.

With a pounding heart and blood pumping wildly in her ears, Narcissa began to pace about the hall. She tired to force herself to came down and not allow Bellatrix to win as she moved around. Narcissa could not afford to allow her sister to unnerve her. She had a more pressing issue. She had to find Lucius.

Dobby remained glued to the spot. He just watched Narcissa's distress in silence.

Narcissa continued to pace as a number of questions swirled around in her head. However before long her brain paused on the most important one. Why would he talk about his mother?

Finally though after taking a few deep breaths Narcissa came to a stop. She faced Dobby. "Is...Is there a place that Mrs. Malfoy use to go? You know somewhere she liked? Somewhere special?" Narcissa knew she was grasping at straws but this was her only option.

Dobby squeezed his eyes shut as he screwed up his face. He thought long and hard. "I remember..."

Narcissa gestured for more." Yes," she impatiently pressed

"She used to talk a lot about this... this cliff," Dobby muttered rubbing his head.".White..." silence then stretched for seconds but to Narcissa it felt more like hours. Suddenly his eyes snapped open. "That's it!" Dobby squeaked. "The white cliffs of Dover! There was a bench on one of those high cliffs were she used to sketch."

Narcissa did not wait to hear any more and immediately apparated. In a millisecond she was standing in the middle of a grassy plane. It was vast and empty There was a slight chill to the air and the heavy scent of sea- salt . The sky had grown semi dark as twilight had arrived. Immediately Narcissa began desperately searching her surroundings but there was only planes and planes of grass as far as the eye could see.

"Lucius!" Narcissa called out, aimlessly, "Lucius!"

Narcissa began moving without a direction. However it seemed though that her subconscious had an idea for soon Narcissa could hear the sound of thunderous waves crashing against rocks. The vibrations resonated against her ear drums and Narcissa knew then that she was indeed on a cliff.

Narcissa's feet continued to quickly carry her along and soon the roar of the sea was deafening. Suddenly Narcissa spotted a bench and a profile of something half a yard front of it. Both outlines stood out against the bareness of the surroundings.

"Lucius!" Narcissa called again as she broke into a run.

It took what felt like hours to reach the bench. With her lungs burning and muscles aching Narcissa saw a lone figure standing dangerously close to a point where the grass met the sky...the cliffs edge. It was pointed and the figure stood at the very tip where the rough sea air blew their cloak and long blond hair all directions.

"LUCIUS!" Narcissa screamed.

Narcissa pushed past the pain in her legs and began running again. "LUCIUS DON'T!"

Eventually Narcissa arrived and gasping for air she stopped a few feet away from cliffs edge.

The figure was still facing away from her though and once Narcissa had regained her breathing she frowned. Had she been mistaken?

Then…slowly and surely Lucius turned and the first thing Narcissa was met with was his eyes. There… deep in his pupils burned pure and unadulterated rage and when this intense gaze became fixed upon her, she shrunk back. Anger, like Narcissa had only seen once before. Lucius took a step forward which caused the Narcissa to take one back.

"Don't flatter yourself. You would never be a reason for me to throw myself off a cliff," he seethed.

This hate-filled statement caused Narcissa's breath to catch In her throat and with her mouth slightly a jar she looked back at the man who she had come to adore... only to see Abraxas. Never had Lucius seemed like this father…until now. She felt her stomach twist and clench as Lucius looked at her now as if she was vile and disgusting to him.

"W-What are you doing here then?" Narcissa mumbled.

Lucius just shook his head as he came charging towards her like a crazed bull.

In her haste to move, Narcissa tripped over her own feet and landed on her back. She quickly scrambled into a sitting position.

"NO! Why don't I ask you where you've been?" Lucius stated as he paced in front of her.

Narcissa gawked up at him for an entire minute before she managed to muster enough courage to speak. "You…already know," she squeaked out instead.

Lucius's jaw clenched so hard. "Yes I already know and how? Because I had to resort to reading your sisters letters," He spat and Narcissa actually felt herself cowering in fear. His cloak swished every time he changed direction. "You went to visit your little blood traitor sister and Bellatrix probably kn-"

Narcissa cut in. "No! I didn't tell her where I was going. I swear!"

At this moment Lucius paused to look down at Narcissa. She had to crane her neck up to meet his face.

"Then why did she say Lord Voldmort wanted to see me?" He asked.

Narcissa could not answer for a moment as she stared into his wild eyes that were as turbulent as the sea.

"She… Lord Voldmort wanted to know why we haven't been coming to his gatherings," Narcissa finally said.

This seemed to appease Lucius only for a moment as he began pacing again. "Do you know about all those people that have gone missing?"

Narcissa had no reply so she just nodded helplessly.

"Do you know what has happened to them?" Lucius demanded.

Narcissa twisted her fingers together. "There just lost Lu-"

"Oh grow up!" Lucius shouted and Narcissa's entire body jolted in surprise.

Her head snapped up to see his manic expression and felt genuine fear that he would strike her.

"Lord Voldmort's had them killed. They're ALL dead in a ditch somewhere!" Lucius started to yell, "Why? Because of doing similar things you have done…mixing with blood traitors, marrying muggles or-" Lucius cut himself off though. Instead of finishing he just stared outward to the sea and took to pinching the bridge of his nose, trying to quell his anger. Narcissa silently watched on as she wondered when the storm within him would pass.

God. Narcissa had no idea that there would be such repercussions for simply visiting her sister and yet as Narcissa gazed down at the ground she realised, how flawed her plan had been. She hadn't taken care. She hadn't returned when she said she would. She had effectively been missing for days.

By now Lucius had turned back around to face her. Narcissa had finally gained some of her former courage and looked up. When the pairs gaze met she stared straight into his grey eyes. Narcissa opened her mouth to speak. "But... I'm not dead," she stated simply.

This alone seemed to reverse everything. Narcissa watched as Lucius was freed from the haze of mania and the anger was clearing from his eyes. It was like he was seeing her…truly seeing her for the first time. That yes she was in fact here and not a figment of his imagination. He was not dreaming.

Lucius remained perfectly still, his expression unchanging but Narcissa knew it was safe to approach him now.

She quickly rose to her feet, all the while never breaking eye contact. "It's me Lucius," she whispered as she moved towards him. "I'm here," she finished as she and took a tentative hold of the fronts of his robes.

Lucius felt the warmth of her body and her breath then. However he did not allow himself be drawn in. Lucius remained unmoved anf stared over her head. "This is dark magic… some twisted joke," he spoke.

"Look at me," Narcissa said softly but he shook his head, "Look at me" she pleaded with raising desperation. The only change was that Lucius's face twitched slightly in pain. "Look at me!" she demanded this time but he still would not.

Narcissa released the fabric in her fists so that she could lie her palms flat against his chest. They slowly traveled up until the finally settled on either one of his cheeks. For a split second Lucius closed his eyes against the feeling of her soft delicate hands.

Narcissa held his face firmly in her hands and forced Lucius (with some difficulty) to look down at her. When their eyes met this time it was a look shared between a wounded man and a desperate women.

"Now you listen here Lucius Malfoy, I am beyond sorry but I am here. I swear it's me," Narcissa whispered but with utter conviction.

Her eyes bored into Lucius's as she tried to convince him.

Lucius stared back at Narcissa and slowly he came to realise that they were the same blue pair he had gazed into while they had danced and the ones he met every morning.

Lucius touched her hands with his fingers before his own traveled down her arms. Narcissa felt goosebumps break out across her skin as his hands moved up her neck before his fingers finally threaded into her hair. Lucius was now firmly cradling her head. He stared at her long and hard.

Narcissa searched his eyes for any sign of understanding and then…

Before Narcissa knew it Lucius's lips came crashing down on hers.

Narcissa lost her breath as tried to kiss him back. Lucius however was making that difficult for he was over powering her. Narcissa had become accustomed to his restraint but now his kisses were hard and demanding. He was not in control. This just seemed to be a visceral reaction.

Suddenly they had the same thought. "Home"

The next thing the pair knew, the chill to the air had gone and replaced with the heat of a nearby fire. They were no longer standing on damp grass but a heavy rug. They had arrived in Lucius's bedroom.

Suddenly Lucius worked furiously to free himself from his cloak

Narcissa had no idea how but she soon found herself on top of Lucius as they tumbled onto a bed. They barely broke their kiss.

Lucius held Narcissa hard against his chest and an internal fire took light as he felt her curves against him. She was here, alive…safe in his arms.

The air seemed to caress Narcissa's back and she figured that at some point Lucius must have eased down the zip of her dress. It was a passing thought though as his strong fingers ran over each ridge of her spine. Narcissa shivered as she breathed heavily against his lips. Lucius's touch was bringing forth, feelings that had been been bubbling up inside of Narcissa for some time now. Despite her fears Narcissa yearned for Lucius's to take her.

She was still straddling his hips as Lucius sat up. Their lips were still battling for dominance. Narcissa wrapped her arms around Lucius's neck and reared up to sit on her knees. She was leaning over him now.

The air was so charged that neither of them could bare it. They shared fierce kisses and soon Lucius's hands were traveling up her bare legs. In response Narcissa felt every inch of her skin tingle.

Without ceremony Lucius quickly wove his hands through Narcissa's thick hair so that he could expose her neck. He took to attacking the skin there. His wet lips trailed up her neck until he reached the soft path of skin beneath her ear. Narcissa clung onto Lucius's tightly. "Lu...cius," Narcissa half sighed half whispered as she held him close. She was unable to do anything else. No one had ever touched her in this way before.

Narcissa's arms and legs were soon numb and she started to shake. It was as if she was suffering from sensory overload. This is why she barely registered Lucius overpowering her and pushing her down onto the bed. Narcissa just lay on the sheets and surrendered herself to him.

Lucius kept the majority of his weight supported on his elbows as he settled between her legs. Yet Narcissa could still feel the heat radiating off his body and it seeped through her silk dress making it damp. The sensations were just becoming too much for Narcissa. She was surely going to implode.

Narcissa made quick work of the buttons on Lucius's shirt and once he was free of the fabric Narcissa took to tracing her fingers over his hip bones. Slowly they ran up Lucius's chest to feel the hard contours of his body. In response Narcissa heard his sharp inhalation of breathe. To Lucius it was like she was burning trails of fire across his skin.

He felt it harder and harder to breathe through the lustful cloud that had settled around them.

"No!" Lucius suddenly said loudly.

Then without warning he tore himself away.

Narcissa suddenly felt his absence and sat up flustered. She was panting heavily and her face was entirely flushed.

Narcissa saw Lucius standing on his knees and bare- chested and on the bed.

"Wh…what's the matter?" Narcissa asked desperately as she recoiled into herself. She instantly felt extremely embarrassed and hurt. Had she done something wrong?

Narcissa received no answer as Lucius quickly to clambered off the bed. She watched as he took in deep and steadying breaths. The seconds ticked by and a fog of silence had settled into the room. Lucius had began pacing back and forth beside the bed and Narcissa shifted uncomfortably. She was all too aware of her nakedness now. The straps of her dress hung around her arms and the zip was far too low down to close with one hand. Therefore Narcissa just sat awkwardly in the middle of the bed, clutching her dress to her body.

After, finally managing to calm himself down, Lucius turned to her. The look of passion had been replaced with a steely expression. "I can't do this," he started and Narcissa blushed furiously. "If I do then our first time will be tarnished by the fact that it was born out of anger," he continued.

Narcissa stared back at him with her big eyes and this made Lucius take a step forward "No .No. No. Don't you dare try that look on me!" he jabbed a finger in her direction, "I am so mad at you right now I...I can't even. Have you lost your mind? Is that it! "

With every word, Lucius's voice increased in decibel and it made Narcissa shrink back. She felt like a child.

Narcissa's lower lip trembled. "Lucius…please."

He was upsetting her now but Lucius would not relent in his tirade. "No! You betrayed my trust! You made me look like a fool!"

"Lucius I…stop!" Narcissa begged but Lucius continued on and it was only after a time when he had said all he could did he stop.

By now Narcissa was blinking fiercely as she tried to quell the tears that threatened to fall. Although there was silence now between them she was unable to look at Lucius anymore.

Lucius noticed and immediately he regretted shouting at her.

Lucius gazed down at the women on his bed and he held back a sigh. She was half-naked before his eyes and Lucius was seeing more of her soft supple skin then he had ever seen before. Beautiful….

Yet Lucius would not let that distract him from the wrong Narcissa had done him.

Lucius watched as Narcissa slipped off the bed. She was still holding on to her dress as she edged towards the door. "I will go then," Narcissa said quietly before meeting Lucius's eyes for a brief moment.

Lucius still remained stony faced. "I think that would be best," he replied without hesitation.

His statement brought, a fresh wave of tears and so for a split second Narcissa squeezed her eyes shut as she pressed her lips together tightly. She was trying to hold it together. Perhaps it was the shock of it all, for Narcissa had been pretty sure that Lucius was going to at least let her stay in his room. I guess not

With her head bowed, Narcissa swiftly passed Lucius.

Suddenly she felt a hand encircle her wrist. Every muscle in Narcissa's body tensed as adrenaline coursed through her veins. Lucius had a hold of her and Narcissa's body reacted to the situation as if she was under attack. Narcissa merely grasped her dress tightly with her free hand so that it would not fall. She did not struggle against Lucius's hold but stared at the door with rising desperation, she suddenly yearned to leave.

Narcissa felt herself being forcibly turned then. She did not dare look up at Lucius and instead stared at her feet. A soft pair of lips then settled on top of her head and Narcissa felt a lone tear slip from her eyes. She should have felt happy but she didn't. Sure it was a tender moment but it lacked all the warmth that Narcissa had become accustomed too. I mean sure there was underlying care but she wanted more.

Without a word Lucius set her free and immediately Narcissa fled from the bedroom for her tears trickled without restraint.
