Hey, it's me again! Here's the next chapter in this exciting saga! Read and review!
Chapter 12
"Well, I shouldn't be surprised to see you here, Mr. Potter. Again." James rolled his eyes as Madame Pompry gave him a look over. Marron laughed as she poured a blue potion onto a cloth and rubbed it on Petra's bruised injury, getting a sigh of relief from the Gryffindor girl. The rest of the team was there as well. West had been there too, but had left the second Madame Pompry had given her the all-clear.
"You have your father's skill, Mr. Potter, but your uncle's stubbornness. At least neither of you got his arrogance." Bardock frowned at that statement.
"You're both fine, for the most part. A few scrapes from the fall, but you weren't that far off the ground to start with. A bloody miracle that that bludger didn't take your head off." James winched at the memory of his broken broom.
"That bludger acted weird. It just turned in midair and tired to take your head off. Like someone hexed it." Emily frowned.
"Impossible." They turned to see Professor Finnigan stride in, her twins trailing behind her with big grins.
"After that whole mess with the Chamber of Secret, when that house elf Dobby hexed a bludger to go after Harry, it became Hogwarts policy that all equipment is thoroughly checked and tested to make sure it isn't hexed to specifically go after a single person or give a team the advantage. I checked it myself before the match today." she explained. The doors flew open once again as McGonagall strode in.
"I believe you, Professor Finnigan. Still, the behavior of that bludger is suspicious." McGonagall stated. The two of them launched into a heated conversation about reviewing the equipment. Stacy and Alicia giggled as they walked over to James.
"That…"
"Was…"
"Awesome!" they finished at the same time with big smiles on their faces. James laughed nervously as he ran a hand through his hair.
"Sorry about your broom, though." Stacy pulled out a wrapped cloth with the shattered remains of the broom and plopped it onto the bed. James groaned as he picked up a few of the broken pieces and stared at them.
"Man… dad's gonna kill me!" James groaned as he covered his face, getting sympathetic looks while Bardock laughed.
"Don't feel bad, James. Your father lost his broom in his third year when it fell into the Whomping willow." Professor Finnigan spoke up. James moaned.
"Dad even kept his broom longer than me!" he moaned.
"Yeah, you broke a Firestreak 1000. But dad will probably send you a new one by the end of the week. I think he's friends with the manufacturer." Bardock smirked. James nodded. That probably would happen, although his mum would probably send a howler at the least.
"At least you didn't catch it with your mouth… or your tail." Professor Finnigan shuddered, getting laughter from everyone.
"I hate to interrupt, but can we get back to the party now?" Alice interrupted with a bored look on her face, getting laughter from the rest of the team. Sure enough, the party was in full swing when they got back, getting a chorus of cheers as they stepped through the portrait hole.
"There he is!" James grinned as Zane broke through the crowd, a smile on his face and a bottle of butterbeer in the other. Megan giggled as she stepped out with him.
"So, enjoy watching your first Quidditch match, Williams?" Ted asked with a smile. She nodded.
"That was so awesome! You guys were great!" she grinned.
"You're quite welcome." Bardock smiled. Zane roared with a grin as he stepped up on a table.
"They should have just given us the cup the second Potter made the team! That cup's good as ours for the next seven years!" Zane roared, getting even more cheers. James yelped as he and Bardock were hoisted on the rest of the team's shoulders.
"Quiet! Everyone, it's on!" the room quickly got quiet as Alice turned on the television.(Just because I forgot to mention, all of the common rooms had special magical televisions installed after WW3, like most of the rest of the wizarding world.) The WIZ-TV logo popped on first, followed by the official Magical Sports logo.
"And we're back! Ladies and gentlemen, your Magical SportsCenter host, Elias Flickerman!" a young man dressed in a snazzy red suit appeared on the screen. James had seen him on TV before, he was a popular show host. He had tan skin, curly blonde hair, and teeth whiter than silver. Several of the girls in the room squealed with excitement.
"Welcome back to our show, where we cover all sporting events that have that magic touch!" he grinned.
"I love you, Elias!" someone in the room shouted, getting laughter.
"Tonight's special is about a sport most of us love and remember well from our own passionate school days of youth. That's right, good old fashioned Hogwarts Quidditch!" he paused for cheers from the audience, and many in the common room cheered as well.
"Yes, we've all been there, one of the great times that made school a blast. And today, the season kicked off with everyone's favorite rivals, Gryffindor and Slytherin. And of course, Gryffindor took the top again!" he laughed.
"Damn straight!" Robert roared as he pumped his fist.
"And now, we're reviewing the best from today's events. And as a treat to all our viewers, we've got a few Gryffindor veterans here to give their own point of view! Check out Angelica Weasley and Oliver Wood!" Emily let out a shocked squeak as her father and Angelica stepped out and shook hands with Elias. James was a bit surprised that Aunt Angelica was there. Oliver made more sense. He was the captain of Puddlemere United, after all.
"Must be great to see how Hogwarts Quidditch has changed since you two were there." Angelica laughed.
"Oh Elias, stop. We all had some good times back in the day. It was always a blast! The thrill of the game, the rush of the wind, and of course, Oliver's crazy competiveness and psycho screeching." Oliver sputtered at Angelica as the audience howled with laughter. Not to mention, a lot of people in the common room were screaming with laughter. Emily groaned as she covered her face.
"Dad…" she moaned in embarrassment. Elias laughed as he dabbed at his eyes with a tissue.
"My my, that must burn, Oliver!" Oliver quickly regained his composure and chuckled.
"Just a bit of humor, Elias. We cracked jokes like that all the time. But still, I love the line-up for the team this year. You can't have a good team without a good captain, after all." Robert grinned as he puffed his chest out with pride.
"And what about your daughter? Word is that she's one heck of a beater." Now everyone was staring at Emily.
"Quidditch is in the blood! I can't be more proud of her than I am now!" Oliver laughed. Emily blushed as the rest of the team laughed and clapped her on the back.
"And I love the chasers! A very integral part of the team, and we've got some good ones!" Angelica added. Elias laughed as he leaned back.
"Yes, yes. But I think we all know what the hot topic is that's on everyone's minds! The seeker!" James gulped nervously. Oh, his parents were watching for sure. Oliver chuckled.
"Potters seem to go with brooms, that's all I'm going to say." Oliver smiled.
"Everyone in the family is good with brooms, regardless of position." Angelica added. Elias clapped with a smile on his face.
"Still! I think this game had a finish to remember! Let's check the replay!" James shuddered as the image changed to the game. It showed James and Ashley, reaching for the snitch. Then, a bludger shot into the screen, and smashed through James' broom, sending him flying though the air. He smashed into Ashley, sending them both tumbling through the ar, before James nicked Bardock(who groaned in embarrassment), sending them all flying to the ground. James then opened his hand to see the Snitch in it. James groaned as he covered his face to hide how red it was.
"I have to say, that was one heck of a finish. Let's look at that in slow motion!" Elias grinned. James felt mortified. He looked ridiculous flying through the air like that.
"There have been a few crazy ones. I just hope that the rest of the season isn't so hectic." Angelica sighed.
"So, do you think Gryffindor has a good chance of getting the cup back this year?" Elias asked.
"Damn straight!" Oliver grinned. Elias laughed as he clapped.
"Oh! I hate to say it, but we are out of time! It's been a pleasure having you two on the show tonight!" he smiled warmly as he shook each of their hands, before turning to look at the camera with a smile.
"That's all the time we have for tonight! But we'll keep covering the rest of the Hogwarts quidditch season this year, and we'll be rooting for you all. Good night!" the smiling face of Elias was replaced with the Sports logo once again, and Petra quickly turned the TV off.
"He's so hot!" Jessica gushed, getting a chorus of agreements from the other girls.
"That was awesome! We're on the big shows! That cup is ours for sure!" Robert roared as he pumped his fist into the air, getting cheers from the rest of the room.
"Dad said he was proud of me." Emily said with a look of awe. The rest of the team congratulated her quickly.
"Let's get this party back on!" James turned to see Ted stand up with a bottle in his hand, getting cheers. Then, a loud boom made them turn to see red lighting flash across the window.
"That's nasty weather. Thank god it didn't happen during the game." Victoria shuddered. James nodded. But, so far, this was a pretty good year, and things were great.
Meanwhile…
"You failed." A figure snarled. Another figure hissed as he looked up from the chair he was sitting in, his eyes glowing a deep red.
"Not my fault that the bludger missed his head! Or that West would break his fall." It countered. The first figure snarled.
"Fool. You're worthless." The second figure hissed as he whirled.
"Do forgive me if I'm not as killing as you are." The first figure snorted.
"Pathetic. You will destroy James Sirius Potter and the rest of his pathetic family." The second figure roared with anger.
"I will! I would have done it already, but you insist on secrecy. I could have killed him a thousand different ways by now. What is so important?" the first figure snorted.
"Fool. Victoria Son will rip you apart before you could even touch him. She needs to go first. If she's anything like her brother, she is a serious problem that must be removed." The second figure snorted as it rose.
"Death, destruction, that's all I seem to be." The first figure laughed.
"Of course! That's all we are! You have a destiny! You will destroy the Potters and the Sons, once and for all!" Ominous music began to play in the background as the second figure stepped towards the window.
"Soon, my goal will be complet, and the potters will be dead!." It looked up as red lighting flashed across the sky.
"For too long, I've been alone. Hiding, cowering, reliving failure after failure. And it's all… his… fault!" the figure roared as fire shot up from the torches around him. The first figure roared with laughter.
"Soon, he will feel my fear, feel my rage! He will suffer! In the dark of the night, evil will find him! In the dark of the night just before dawn! My revenge will be sweet!" it roared as it thrust it's fists into the air. Around the figure, a humming emanated from the suits of armor around it.
When the plot is complete, they'll all lie dead at my feet. In the dark of the night, he'll be gone!" the figure looked at it's hands, and sneered as they burst into kai energy, shimmering with black light and red electricity.
"I can feel that my powers are slowly getting stronger! As the Pieces fall into place, I'll put that pathetic little wizard in his place! Au revoir, Potter, Your Grace! Farewell..." the figure chuckled as the armor echoed around him.
"In the dark of the night terror will strike him! In the dark of the night, he will suffer, he will fall! He's no match for you!" the figure sneered.
"Terror's the least I can do! He'll regret the day he ever met me, and the day his pathetic family crossed mine!"
"In the dark of the night, evil will brew. In the night, he'll scream for mercy. In the dark of the night, he'll be cold as ice!" the figure laughed as it raced up the light of stairs, the armor trailing behind it.
"Soon he will feel that his nightmares are real. Soon, he'll see that Hogwarts isn't as peaceful as he thinks! Soon, he'll quake before my power! I'll crush that little gnat beneath my heel like the rodent that I know he is!" it roared as it pumped its fists into the air. The armor continued to sing behind it.
"In the blackness of the night, he'll be through! In the dark of the night Evil will find him! In the dark of the night terror comes true. Evil will find him, and finish what good old Voldemort started so long ago! Doom him! Break him! Destroy him!" The figure reached a window and threw it open, letting the wet rain hit it in the face. It smiled as it looked up, it's red eyes glinting red as blood.
"Victory will come, and revenge will be mine! That fool will regret the day that he crossed my path!" it smiled as it thrust its hands out, shooting red lighting into the sky that illuminated it's face.
"My dear friend, here's a sign - It's the end of the line! Soon… you'll be mine!" it roared as it continued to laugh, it's laughter mixing with the first figures, training off into the black night.
Creepy, right?! I've been writing that song for ages, and it seemed perfect. Enjoy and review! Next chapter up soon!
