A/N: CHIIISUUU! Anyone missed me? I guess this update is LONG overdue eh? *sweats profusely at the scary glares everyone is giving*

As I said before, university's really whooping my ass and my stories have to put on hold, it's not like I want to but with the mountains of assignments, projects and little to no free time, I could only write little by little from time to time. I hope you guys can understand...

And WOAH! When I check the reviews, many of you have chosen GoMXKuroko! But then, others pm'ed me saying that they want this as a gen fc but with lots of brotherly love moments. OK to satisfy everyone, this will be a gen fic but the GoM will have a scene with Tetsu that will quite romantic and friendship-centric! Or is that more of a friend-zone thing? O_o *wink* *wink* and there will be lots moments with everyone else too! So everyone's happy!

I figured it would be unfair if Tetsu ends up with only one person and the others are left in the dust if I make it a KiKuro or an AkaKuro. I'm a total GoM+KagaXKuro fanatic but can you imagine Kazuya and the rest of the WR's reactions if they found that their precious otouto is dating six at once?! They'll faint that' for sure! So, I think it's best if this more of a friendship fic….for the time being..*evil smirk*

Now then, this story will still be about the past before the actual storyline, so enjoy! I know some of you might find this unnecessary but I need to let everyone know in depth about how the Wind Riders came to be, their past and a little more explanation about them and their band so that's why the past of the Kuroko brothers need to be explained too. And instead of putting this backstory in two chapters, I'm gonna squeezed it in one chapter, this will make my workload much easier too! Uhh, I don't wanna reveal too much here, so just see for yourselves! :3

And about Kuroko's mother's name, I took from the kanji (水色) meaning light blue in Japanese because of her hair colour.

Sorry, this chapter is quite short!

Warnings: Un'beta'ed and possibly some mistakes here and there.

Otherwise, enjoy!

"I am Kuroko Takumi. Please to meet you Ojou-sama"

And who said opposites don't match?

Mizuiroki Nana was one of the most peculiar beings Kuroko Takumi has ever met. She is a cheerful and energetic young lady with the beauty of a Goddess. Her unusual pale blue hair with even paler skin. Her small and demure build gave anyone that lays eyes on her, the first impression of fragility. And what is even more unique about her? Her extremely weak presence.

Kuroko Takumi on the other hand, was an indeed a gorgeous man and combined with his enigmatic aura, he was one of the university's most eligible bachelor that any woman (or in some cases, even men) would die for his attention and she couldn't understand why he of all people, would choose someone as unnoticeable as her? But all in all, she was one happy lady!

It was strange how he could spot her under that tree on that very day. Maybe it was fate…

'Kami-sama has answered my prayers…'

~~000~~~

The two spent the rest of their university days together, getting to know more about each other, meeting their friends (with Takumi often getting teased by Takao and the rest) and eventually, Takumi proposed to Nana just when the two graduated at their senior graduation ceremony.

Many hearts were crushed when the news got out that Kuroko Takumi was getting married. But no grudges were held. Not when he and Mizuiroki Nana made such a lovely couple!

Takao and the rest were beyond happy for the two and were the ones who even planned their wedding! Takao made the invitations, Izuki and Kasamatsu called the catering and Himuro and Imayoshi would be performing for the wedding along with their band. Momoi and Mibuchi were in charge of being the bridesmaids and making sure that the bride was beautiful on her wedding day.

It was a grand wedding indeed with all their university friends as well as lecturers invited, other friends, families and relatives came to witness the happiest day for these two beautiful people as they finally exchange their vows.

~~000~~~

A few years later in life after marriage and already having steady jobs, the Kuroko couple's first child was born.

A healthy baby boy with shiny sapphire blue eyes and pretty pale skin that they named Kazuya. Relatives and friends flocked to the Kuroko household to see the baby for themselves.

Takahashi could not express on how happy he was for his little brother. Not only was he happily married to a lovely lady but now he just got his first newborn and he himself is an uncle now! Both brothers still remained close as ever and Takashi absolutely loved his nephew. And he and his sister-in law were the best of friends.

Though receiving lots of love letters as well as proposals, he rejected them all as he expressed that he had no interest in love whatsoever. Music was his only lover thus crushing more hearts. He prefers living happily with his brother and sister as well as his first nephew. Nana and Takumi were ecstatic about their new baby boy as they spent Kazuya first few years happily together. From his first walk to his first words, these were the kind of memories that will remain in their hearts until the end. Though they had planned to have another baby soon so that Kazuya won't be so lonely.

However, Nana had some complications during birth due to her fragile body that doctors advised the Kuroko couple to wait for a few years before planning to have another child. They were lucky Kazuya was born normally despite his mother's condition.

But as of for now, he has his beloved uncle as his best friend as the man taught him music.

"Ne, Mama, can I have a sibling?" A six year old Kazuya asked his mom one evening on a family picnic. He and Nana were resting on the blanket while the Kuroko siblings went off to get some ice-cream.

The pale-blue haired woman stared at her son in surprise. Most children his age will never ask for younger siblings. "Kazu-chan, you want a younger sibling?"

The boy nodded his head. "Yep! I want a younger brother! Like my friends."

The woman smiled warmly at her son as she kissed his head. "Okay then."

~~000~~~

Seven years after the birth of their first child, on a lovely wintery January, their second was finally born!

But, Nana's complications during birth this time was much worse than before. Nana was in painful labor for nearly six hours now but her pelvic muscles were showing no signs of contraction nor crowning. Doctors feared that if the baby stays in the womb for any longer, it may not survive…

Kazuya was sitting in his father's lap with his uncle beside him. Despite the heavy atmosphere, the child couldn't understand what was going on and just remained seated in Takahashi's lap as he listened to the conversation between his father and uncle.

Takumi was clearly worried for his wife's wellbeing as well as his second child whom he fears he might or not meet. Takahashi held on to the little azurette in his lap while stroking his hair and was trying to calm his brother down at the same time.

The bluenette was pacing and sweating a lot as they waited for any news. She had been in the surgery room for too long when finally….

The doors of the surgery room bursts open, startling the three other Kuroko family members. Then, a doctor in scrubs stood in the doorway, the amount of sweat had darkened his aquamarine clothing and his face paler than the hospital's floor but as he slid his surgical mask off, a huge grin plastered on his features.

Takumi and Takahashi heard the best news in the last six hours.

"Congratulations, Kuroko-san. You and your wife have another son."

~~000~~~

Takumi and Nana's second bundle of joy was finally here but at a price. Their second son, Kuroko Tetsuya, was born as a very fragile child. He was much smaller than any other babies and only cried when he was born. Afterwards, he remained quiet as if he was lifeless. Doctors confirmed that he was born a little too early out of the womb, resulting in the weak health but they are still unable to fully determine if he has any diseases so far because the baby showed no worrying symptoms. So for now, he will be under the hospitals care before he will be allowed to return with his family.

Tetsuya's weak health meant that he was not allowed to do rough or exerting activities like running. Due to it, Kazuya was not allowed to roughhouse his new little brother for fear that he may get hurt easily. In the beginning, the child was quite upset that he was not allowed to play with his sibling like his other friends. But after seeing how small and fragile-looking his brother was, he began to understand.

Takahashi was goo goo over his adorable little nephew but was still playing with Kazuya as to not make him feel left out. In fact, he wanted to teach both boys the joy of music once Tetsuya is a little older.

But just barely a year after Tetsuya's birth, he had a sudden coughing fit that was terrible and had to be admitted into the hospital. Doctors informed the Kuroko family that they feared that Tetsuya may have tuberculosis or even leukemia because newborns are especially vulnerable to those two killers of infants. Takumi, Nana and Takahashi were beyond scared for their newborn. It was possibly one of their most frightening moments in their lives. Even the eight year old felt afraid for his little brother.

'Oh Kami-sama (GOD), please hear my prayers. Please don't take Tet-chan away from me, Mama, Papa or Takahashi-Ojiisan. Please!' Kazuya prayed and pleaded with much tears, hoping that God would answer him.

And they were.

It turns out that Tetsuya only suffered a minor asthma attack but his lungs were all fine. Relief washed over the Kuroko family and in a few days, little Tetsuya was allowed to return home with his family.

Now the message was clear. Tetsuya is to be watched over carefully from now on.

Takumi and Nana made sure that their littlest boy ate well and if he falls ill again, he will be rushed to the hospital and so on.

Even Kazuya made sure that his baby brother was OK at all times. Checking up on him, feeding him, sleeping and comforting him whenever the little boy experiences nightmares. The older boy began to develop more and more protective feelings for his sibling as he kept taking care and loving him while the younger one, as he grew from infant to toddler, loves his big brother to death to a point that he refuses to sleep without him every time.

Their parents couldn't be any more proud of their children, especially their oldest one. He gave them assurance that they do not need to worry about Tetsuya every time they were busy with Kazuya around him along with their uncle.

Yes, their little family was perfect.

~~000~~~

As the years fly by, with the boys growing up, Kazuya had become the prefect model of an older brother while Tetsuya was the best and cutest little brother anyone would ask for!

While both boys had the same sapphire blue eyes as their father and the blue hues of hair colour from both parents, it was clear that both had received the same amount of genes from both Takumi and Nana but in a very interesting way:

The older boy was a splitting image of his father by inheriting the azure-coloured hair, the beautifully sculpted but masculine jawline and was well-built from taking up taekwondo at the age of eight. But personality-wise, Kazuya was undeniably, another Nana. Hyper, cheerful and brimming with confidence, he was a walking ball of sunshine and energy! His presence was so strong that eyes will just turn to him whenever he makes an entrance anywhere and it was made worse with his natural good looks and exceptional height.

As for the younger boy, being born with weak health gave him a fragile outlook and he was much shorter than most children his age. However, it seems as if he had received his mother's natural, captivating beauty. Even from small, he was said to be the cutest, most innocent child anyone had laid eyes on. He has his mother's silky, sky-blue hair, snow white skin, heart-shaped face, oval-shape eyes and oddly enough, her frail presence as well. To Takumi, it was like looking at a younger Nana when she had short hair! But when it comes to his personality, like father, like son. Tetsuya is extremely polite, reserved and a very quiet, shy child. He even gave off this enigmatic aura and had the best poker face just like his father!

So as a conclusion, Kazuya inherited his father's looks but has his mother's personality while Tetsuya inherited his mother's looks but took on his father's personality... how intriguing...

Later in life, Kazuya's interest in music grew to the point that he was obsessed as he would sing every chance he got and pick up his precious bass guitar even before bed, both skills taught by the music-crazy member of the Kuroko family. Since he was also the founder and CEO of Unlimited Rhythm Music records and having this innate ability to scout for the talented, he recognised Kazuya as being a natural-born singer from a young age and Tetsuya was catching up as well but because he was still too young, he decided to focus on the older child first. With consent and a lot of persuasion to convince his brother and sister-in-law, Takahashi decided to form a band with Kazuya being the lead vocalist and bassist.

In Japan's pop culture or sometimes called 'Weird Japan', it's very common to see children as young as twelve or even younger in the arts and performance industry. Like Junior Idols.

It took him a few months of hard work, scouting, plenty of auditions and patience in his search of young talented children to be fill the positions of the rest of the band members. And he had finally found them...

A drumming protege with mad skills, a budding guitarist as well as inspiring writer, the next Jimi Hendrix and a virtuoso pianist.

After sorting out the details and confirming with their parents, Takahashi arranged a date for the five youngsters to meet up with one another to finally form the band. There was still a lot to do before they can even enter the recording studio to record their songs. There's a lot steps beforehand but thanks to Takahashi, he had come up with the band's name:

The Wind Riders. Why? Because he thought that the kids' given names were very similar to names of air/wind-based names like clouds or wind. And then, that's when the inspiration for the stage names flooded his brilliant musical brain.

And that's when Kazuya met his new band mates.

It was awkward between the five children at first but the ice finally broke when Tsukasa, the friendliest-looking of the five, complimented Kazuya's hair. "Wow! You've got a really neat hair colour!"

"Um, thank you... Tsukasa-kun..."

"C'mon don't be like that! We're friends aren't we? I'm Nokon Tsuksa, nice to meet ya!" The indigo-haired boy saluted comically, flowing with enthusiasm. He was also the new drummer. "I know they already told our names to each other but let's try it coming from us."

Shyly, the white-haired boy who was also chosen to be the rhythm guitarist, spoke up. "Um, I'm...Shirotori Kunihiko..."

An arrogant-looking boy snickered. "I'm the awesome Kinsaki Sora-sama!" He was picked to be the lead guitarist.

The dark brunette rolled his eyes at the previous boy. "My name is Chaihiro Akira. Please to make your acquaintance." The beautiful child was the piano virtuoso.

"I'm Kuroko Kazuya. Please to meet you, Akira-kun, Sora-kun, Kunihiko-kun and Tsukasa-kun. I hope we get along!"

It was really an amateurish introduction but it felt like it was definitely fate that brought them together there, at the young age of twelve. Despite not really liking each other at first, like Sora and Akira because the latter hated the former's attitude but after a while, it seems they might just get along...after a few, exasperating weeks...

A year past and to celebrate the release of their first album, their families had a little meeting celebration to get to know each other since that their sons are working with each other.

And then, Kazuya introduced the other four Riders his most important person.

His baby brother, Tetsuya.

The poor six year old was painful shy about meeting new people and would always cling to his parents or uncle but especially his big brother. Like now.

The other four thirteen year old kids widened their eyes when they first saw the sky-haired child in Kazuya's arms(after being scared by him first). He was the tiniest thing they've ever seen and adorable at that.

Before being introduced to them, heir parents cooed at the little boy, causing him to bury himself deeper in his mother's embrace and with his father petting his soft locks.

The azurette had to persuade his little brother to open up to his new friends saying that they were friendly. It took some time before the sky-bluenette could finally warm up to them. After spending time together, Kunihiko, Tsukasa, Akira and Sora understood why Kazuya dotes on and is overprotective of Tetsuya so much and now sees him as their own little brother. The kid was so cute and innocent, nice, polite and just...everything! The little sky-bluenette was more than happy to have four more new big brothers as well.

They spent several more happy years together, laughing, playing around like the children they were until their bond was nearly unbreakable.

But alas, all were unaware that they will be separated soon as time passes by...

~~000~~~

"Are sure about this Kazu-chan?" Takumi asks his eldest son.

"Even though I'm sad about leaving you, Mother, Takahashi-ojiisan and Tet-chan behind for a few years, but yes, I'm positive, Father." Kazuya gave his old man an assuring smile.

After the Wind Riders announced their dismemberment thus breaking many hearts in order to further their studies, assuring the fans that they didn't break up because of anything else. It was difficult enough to juggle school and their work but in the end it paid off. All five earned scholarships to study abroad but in different countries. The other four have left earlier as Kazuya and Tetsuya had their tearful goodbyes.

After hugging each of his family members, he stared directly at his baby brother. The boy has tiny droplets of tears on the edge of his eyes and trying to hold back his sniffles. Smiling warmly to him, Kazuya stooped to the thirteen year old's level and embraced him tightly. "Don't worry Tet-chan, I'll be back as soon as possible. So please smile for me, OK?" He wiped the tears away with his thumb.

It was understandable that the child will miss him very much. He and the other four were his only best friends. After his only childhood friend left, he felt lonely and now, he was about to be completely alone...

"OK Onii-san, I love you. Itterasshai!" Tetsuya had to force the smile a bit. Since it will be a long time before he gets to see his big brother again, he has to make the smile sincere.

"Love you too, otouto. Love you all! Ittekimasu!" The azurette waved one last goodbye to his family as he headed for the plane, his luggage bouncing in his back as the other three bags rolled on its wheels.

Watching his brother's figure disappear into the busy airport terminal, he let one more tear drop down his face as Takahashi wiped it for him. "He'll be fine, Tet-kun." The black-haired man comforted his nephew.

"Anyway Tet-kun, are you ready for your first day in Teikou Middle School tomorrow?" Nana smiles at her son while she held his right and her husband held his left.

Nodding excitedly, he beamed "Yes! I can't wait!"

But fate can be a cruel mistress and one can never predict what happens in the future...

A/N: Was it OK? Also, anyone saw the first ep of season 3? EPIC, Haizaki's voice actor is Masakazu Morita, the seiyuu for Kurosaki Ichigo! And the ending theme? CUTE! BABY TETSU IS TOO GODDAMN CUTE!

Itterasshai - "please go and come back"

Ittekimasu - "i will do and come back"

The phrases, 'ittekimasu' and 'itterasshai' is a common exchange used at home when a family member

leaves.

The person who leaves says ittekimasu , which literally means"i will do and come back" and the family members respond with itterasshai which means "please go and come back".

BTW, I've set the number of chapters for the Phantom Idol but I won't spoil it...but I'll give a hint. It's at least over 20~~

Till the next chapter, ja ne~~
