So sorry to keep you all waiting, I know you were waiting on this one to come out.
Now, before we begin I will say there is going to be some words thrown here. After all, most everyone should know vampires and werewolves don't get along, but that may change here. Remus and Caius meet, Marcus and Severus have a spot, and we get just a smidge closer to Harry being turned. That still won't happen for maybe a few more chapters because he and Caius need to get further into their relationship.
Written by myself and my sister author AnnaBoleyna1536, and we don't own Harry Potter or Twilight.
Enjoy!
Harry's home, 11:32 a.m.:
"Hey Harry." Harry was in his living room reading a book when his floo went off. "Can we come through?" it was Hermione.
"Sure, come on in." Desiree was asleep; she'd been up half the night with a bad tummy ache after having too much supper. Hermione and Ron stepped through the floo, but something looked different about Hermione today. "Mione…are you alright?"
"Fine actually, well better than fine but y'know." she smiled with glee. "As it turns out we just came from the healer's office." she held Ron's hand.
"Great news mate…you're gonna be an uncle!" when Ron finished Hermione squealed and hugged Harry around the neck tight.
"Ah! Can't breathe Mione…" she let go. "Wow…you're gonna have a baby that's great, congratulations to you both."
"Oh we're so excited, we already told Bill and the twins, and my parents mum is so happy." Hermione laughed. "I'm hoping it's a boy but I think Ron wants a girl." Harry snickered.
"A girl Ron?"
"Hey I always thought if I ever had a daughter I would make sure no blokes would lay a finger on her. I don't wanna be a granddad too soon." Hermione punched his arm.
"So is Teddy coming by today?" Harry nodded.
"In about two hours he is, Remus is going to let him stay here tonight and tomorrow he, Tonks, Andromeda, and of course you two and the twins will be here to celebrate his birthday."
"What about Caius?" Hermione had to ask. "Harry…are you going to tell Remus about him?"
"I plan to when he comes, frankly because if Caius and I are going to be mates one day he and Remus have to get along or at least be civil to each other."
"You know Remus' inner wolf will want to kill Caius."
"Yes but this has to be done, I don't want to be forced into choosing but part of me feels if I live without Caius I won't live at all."
"He might bring up Desiree's safety." Ron pointed out.
"Caius would never hurt Desiree, I was actually going to invite him to the party and let everyone meet him but…"
"You're more worried about Remus, Harry we will tell the twins about Caius and Bill if you want. They'll understand more, hell I think Bill's coming tomorrow with Fleur right?"
"He said he might but he had to make sure his schedule was cleared. I'm not sure about it though, I mean I trust Caius completely but the others might not."
"Harry we'll talk to Bill and the twins for you, but you need to tell Remus yourself. We're going to see the twins tonight any way; they invited us to dinner in London. We'll tell them then."
"Thanks guys." Harry was extremely glad his friends would help him. "Dessy's going to wake soon and I have to give her a potion."
"Is she sick?" Harry shook his head.
"No, just tummy trouble that's all." he laughed.
"Alright well we'll see you later mate, tell us how things go with Remus." they both hugged him before leaving. Harry was glad for them; Hermione had wanted a baby for a while now and now she was having one. He'd be sure to get them a good gift.
"WAAAHHH!" Harry heard Desiree crying upstairs.
"Coming sweetie." he went upstairs to her room and took her from the crib. He summoned her potion and took her downstairs. "Here we go, this will make you feel loads better." he used a spoon to feed it to her, and she took it without fuss. "Alright, now let's get you bathed and changed because your godbrother and Uncle Moony are coming to visit."
"Bah." she said.
"Alright let's get started." off they went, and as Harry was getting things done he could only hope that Moony was willing to listen and understand the situation.
Two hours later:
"Harry!" right after the floo went off Harry was embraced around the legs by his precious godson.
"Hey Teddy bear I've missed you." he lifted the little boy into his arms. Remus came through with his wife who had Teddy's bag. "Hi guys."
"Wotcher Harry." Tonks winked at him. "You look good."
"Thanks, there wasn't any trouble was there?" Remus shook his head.
"None at all, everything's fine so far."
"Where Dessy?" Teddy looked around until he saw Desiree in her bassinet, looking at everyone with curious eyes. "Dessy!" Teddy moved to get down and Harry let him. He ran to her side and began to play peek-a-boo with her which she loved. Tonks set the bag down and sat down on the couch with Remus.
"So how are you Harry?"
"Fine actually, but there's something I need to tell you about."
"Something wrong?" Remus asked but Harry shook his head.
"I need to talk to you alone Remus, if that's alright?"
"It is, I'll watch the kids." Tonks motioned for Remus to go and follow Harry, and they stopped in the kitchen.
"What's up cub?" Harry sighed, might as well get it done and over with.
"I've actually found someone, or…well I'm seeing someone." Remus was still quiet. "It's not a woman either."
"Cub, I know you prefer men." Harry stared.
"You do?"
"Sirius was the same way, I know the signs. I know you loved Ginny and she loved you but you weren't in love, that's why I was relieved when you two decided to divorce on good terms. So who is this mystery man of yours?"
"Well that's the issue…he is a man but he's not muggle."
"He's a wizard?" Harry shook his head.
"No Remus, I'll just tell you straight out." Harry took a deep breath. "He's a vampire." Remus paled dramatically at that. "Now before you start…he has pretty much been here since after I moved. He lives in the city, he's one of the vampire lords, and he cares about me."
"Cares about you? Harry how in the hell can you be suckered into this?" Remus kept his voice low so Tonks couldn't hear.
"I'm not Remus, I know Caius is my mate I can feel it in my magic. Yes he knows about you and yes I know the feuds between vampires and werewolves aren't good but he's willing to be civil with you for me. He knows you're family, he just has his own vendetta against wolves."
"Vampires are not good company Harry." Harry glared.
"That's what they say about werewolves, Caius wouldn't ever hurt me."
"What about Desiree? Are you going to tell me that he'll adopt her as his own?"
"He already loves her Remus, and she loves him. They watch over us."
"They?"
"The Volturi, that's the coven he's involved with and I've been to their castle they're nice people."
"Vampires are not people Harry they're dead!"
"Remus do you know the first thing about the vampires today? From what Hermione has been seeing we are way out of date with vampire behavior and activity."
"Harry…you can't seriously think a vampire would want you?"
"Are you saying that no one would want me?"
"No, but vampires are very manipulative and cunning it's how they get their prey. I'm surprised you're defending them so."
"I've met them Remus, and they aren't as bad as you would think. Reason I'm saying is because Caius is coming tomorrow, he wants to meet you."
"Meet me?"
"Yes, can you try and be civil to him? He won't hurt anyone and Ron and Hermione already know about him and Hermione knows more about vampire mating than me. She'll tell you the exact same thing." Remus obviously wanted to argue more, but he knew Harry wasn't a child and he wouldn't just jump into mating with a vampire. If this was something…and Harry had found a new person to love then he couldn't stop him and he didn't want to lose him.
"Harry, I know a few things about vampires and I know the main rule of theirs is either turn or die. If you become a vampire…"
"You won't lose me Remus." Harry hugged the man. "Just because I'll be a vampire doesn't mean I'll leave. Yes I'll have to be more discreet but…if I talk to Kingsley maybe we can settle a deal with the vampires and no one will have to fear them or werewolves."
"You would risk that?"
"I already spoke with the other leaders about it, they think it might be a good idea. Seeing as they don't know too much about magic and we don't know very much about them we could help each other."
"Harry you know if we went to war with vampires it would…"
"Remus vampires are very secretive; they won't risk war if there's a way to stop it. Besides the main leader Aro wouldn't stand for it, he would rather us be on peaceful terms with each other than have a possible war with bloodshed. That's exposure on them and us." Remus sighed, knowing he couldn't argue against that.
"Alright." he said. "I'll try…but I warn you Harry if he makes any move to hurt you or…"
"He won't so don't threaten him ever."
"Fine, but just to warn you." they went back into the den where Teddy was asleep on his mother's lap and Desiree was chewing on her blanket.
"Everything alright?" she whispered to them.
"Yes, everything's fine Nymph." Remus kissed her head. "We'd best be going." he turned to Harry after carefully moving Teddy to a pillow. "I'll floo tonight to see how he's doing."
"Okay, bye guys." he hugged them both and they left. Harry knew Teddy was always a little tired after flooing, so he adjusted the pillow under his godson's head and a small blanket over him. When Teddy napped he could nap for two hours, so it gave Harry time to decide on dinner for him and the boy.
'Perhaps I can whip up some eggplant parmesan for me, and some sweet spaghetti for Teddy.'
The next day:
"Uncle Harry it's today!" Teddy had been up and bouncing around since eight that morning, happy that his fourth birthday was here at last and eager to start the party.
"I know Teddy-bear I know, but the party will begin in two hours."
"I want party now!"
"Teddy…what have I told you about wanting things?" Teddy went quiet.
"That I should wait until they come." Harry nodded.
"Right, now go wash your hands you have powder on them and go put on that suit your mum brought." Teddy had learned to dress himself last month, but his parents still needed to pick out his clothes.
"Okay, where's Dessy?"
"Dessy's over there Teddy, but don't bother her she's still sleepy."
"She's always sleepy!"
"That's how babies are cub; you slept a lot when you were a baby. Now go get dressed there's still a lot to do." Teddy left to his little bedroom upstairs, and Harry had the house warded just in case something happened and Teddy got hurt.
"Having fun?" Harry turned to see Caius leaning against the door frame.
"When did you get here?"
"Five minutes ago, but you seemed busy with the lad so I waited." he walked over to Desiree who smiled up at him. "Hello little dove." he kissed her head.
"She missed you." Harry smiled.
"I missed her, and you." Caius kissed Harry's neck. "So the party is tonight?"
"In two hours, still a good bit before tonight. Remus will be here, but are you…?"
"I will come my love; I just wanted to see you beforehand. So how many people?"
"Not too many just those closest to me and Teddy, Ron and Hermione are excited to meet you and Remus…well he's not sure but he said he'd be civil." Caius hugged him around the shoulders. "Also, Ron and Hermione are having a baby of their own."
"That's good news." a kiss was pressed against Harry's cheek. "I hear your godson's about to come down, I'll see you soon my love." he hugged Harry and left just as Teddy came downstairs.
"Uncle Harry…my shoes are tangled." Teddy held up his little black sneakers, the laces all in knots.
"Now how did they get that way?" Teddy shrugged. "Alright give'em here." Teddy handed Harry his shoes and Harry magically unknotted them. He put them on Teddy's feet, and combed out his hair. Teddy had on a cute little red and dark yellow jumper made by Tonks and Andromeda, it had on badgers and lions for Hufflepuff and Gryffindor, yellow and red were also Teddy's favorite colors. He loved them and though Remus was sure he would be a Gryffindor Tonks thought he'd be a Hufflepuff like his grandfather and her.
"When's the party Uncle Harry?"
"In a few hours pup, look just go watch TV and I'll bring you a snack alright? I need to finish up the food."
"Okay!" Teddy ran back into the living room and flipped on the telly. Harry sighed, he knew being a godfather and a father wasn't easy but he was doing his best. He couldn't help but wonder though, if he was turned within a year would he be able to have more children? He knew female vampires couldn't have babies, but for Desiree to be his only child…it almost saddened him.
He'd have to talk with Caius about that later, today was Teddy's birthday and he wasn't going to spoil it with a sour attitude.
Two and a half hours later:
By the time everyone had arrived Teddy was bouncing off the walls with waves of happiness flowing off him. His parents could barely calm him down as he spotted the presents, but everyone else just sat back and let the boy enjoy his day. Hermione, Ron, the twins and their girlfriends, Remus, Tonks, and at the last minute Bill and Fleur with their pregnancy soon to be a new baby too; Bill wasn't sure if Fleur should floo, but she wanted to come for Teddy.
"He's gotten so big, soon enough he'll be a heartbreaker like his daddy." Hermione giggled watching Teddy playing with the horse Harry gave him the last time he was over here.
"Oh shush Hermione; my boy will most likely be the school stud when he gets older." Tonks laughed. "He's handsome like his father, but he's adorable like me…yes he'll be a knockout." she playfully punched Remus' shoulder and he just smirked.
"We'll just wait until the teenage years come." everyone laughed.
"So Harry…" the twins started.
"When are we going…"
"To meet your mystery new…"
"Love?"
"He should be here soon guys, but if you don't know much about him yet then I must warn you that this'll be a bit of a shock." they all stared in wonder for several moments before Harry felt the wards go off. "That's him now." he walked into the kitchen, and Caius was waiting at the window. "Couldn't use the front door could you?"
"I love to make a strange appearance." Caius kissed him. "Now, shall we?" Harry took him by the arm and led him back into the den. When all the others saw him, they gaped with mouths open.
"Everyone…this is Caius." Caius locked eyes instantly with Remus, he knew what he looked like. Remus' eyes turned hard, but he said nothing. Tension was felt in the air, but no one dared speak until some moments later.
"Wow Harry he's as handsome as you said." Hermione stared at him with awe. "No mortal could look that gorgeous."
"Mione!" Ron pretended to be jealous.
"He is very attractive, I can see one reason why you fell for him." Tonks winked at Caius.
"A vampire eh? Nothing's ever too good for our Harry." Angelina laughed.
"He's also one of the kings, well of the largest coven at least."
"Harry if I were mortal right now I think I would be blushing, you never told me how lovely all your lady friends are." all the girls giggled.
"Oh you're just being modest." Fleur giggled.
"Harry, I think you picked a good one here." Tonks smiled and walked up to Caius. "Call me Tonks, I'm the mother of Teddy." she held out her hand and Caius kissed it. "Whooo you are a cold one." she shivered a little.
"Forgive me, us vampires don't have warm skin like humans."
"So you're really a king eh?" Ron asked.
"In a manner of speaking yes, I am a co-leader of my coven and we uphold the laws of our world."
"Ahh…does it get boring after a while?" Caius shrugged.
"We have our ways of entertainment."
"Uncle Harry." Teddy slowly approached Caius. "Who this man?"
"Teddy, this is Caius…he's a very special friend of mine." Caius smiled down at Teddy.
"He's a vampire…?" Teddy looked a little scared.
"It's alright Teddy he won't hurt you. Caius is actually very nice around children, he even helps me with Dessy." speaking of whom, when Desiree spotted Caius in the room her little arms reached out for him.
"Hello little dove." Caius walked over to her bassinet and lifted her into his arms. "You are so sweet, just like your daddy."
"Umm…Remus are you alright?" Hermione and everyone else looked to Remus whose face had gone bright red and his lips were tightly pursed. Tonks went to his side and Harry kept his hand on his wand in his shirt pocket.
"Caius…I think you should give me Desiree." Harry took his daughter into his arms. "Remus…if you have something to say then say it now."
"Fine." Remus approached Caius closely. "I may not like the idea of Harry being with you, but I can't change his mind. If I find out you're doing any of this to hurt my godson or his daughter I will tear you apart." Caius' eyes narrowed darkly.
"I can assure you wolf…that I have no intention of hurting my mate. I care for Harry and Desiree very much, and I am not going to let anyone wreck that."
"Is that so? You vampires don't have a good reputation among us wizards."
"That's because you wizards and witches have not sought help from us, reasons why we understand we don't go where we aren't wanted. Only one vampire I know lives in Britain, and he secludes himself from others. True we vampires aren't the purest of creatures, but we know where our boundaries lie. While I myself have a vendetta against wolves, you mean a lot to Harry and I will not cut him from his old life. If I had it my way I would've turned him already and taken him and Desiree into my home, but I will not hurt him like that ever." Remus stared him down.
"You stink of death."
"I am a vampire; to a werewolf I would stink of death because I admit that I drink human blood. However I don't feed from live humans any longer, after an almost war last year my brothers and I have a system set up to where we do take blood but not by death. We have blood drives a few times a month and it suits us better than luring in prey. I should say that you sir smell of dog, but that's normal and other than that I pick up a scent of sunflowers and biscuits no doubt your favorite flower and snack."
"You are correct on that, other than the deathly stench I smell I can pick up juniper and vanilla."
"I do love juniper and vanilla, now…anything else you'd like to ask or assume?" Remus seemed to, but stepped back once.
"For now I think I can learn to like you, but I still have my doubts."
"I can live with that." the rest of the party continued, and Teddy even warmed up to Caius when the man let the boy sit on his lap. As the day went by Harry loved watching his boyfriend and family get along, especially Remus though he kept his distance across the room with the twins. Caius seemed to adore the girls, especially Hermione as they shared knowledge about both of their worlds. This would no doubt be a long party, so Harry decided to order in some extra food.
'Looks like this is off to a good start.'
Somewhere in Volterra, that evening:
"You're pondering again Severus." Severus and Marcus were on the roof of a large building in the city, just looking over the city to enjoy the cool winds blowing that night.
"I'm not pondering I'm thinking." Marcus smiled and kissed his neck.
"What're you thinking about?" Severus sighed.
"Everything, nothing in particular." hands wrapped around his waist. "I sort of miss London."
"I know love, I know."
"I don't miss the little dunderheads I taught Merlin no, but I do miss some of my old colleagues. Minerva, Pomona, Poppy…even Dumbledore."
"I'm sure they miss you as well my love, you are going to feel that for a while. We can go to London sometime if you wish."
"I don't know…" Severus turned around and embraced Marcus. "I would only go if you were with me."
"Of course I would be…I would never let you go alone. We don't need to worry though, things are different now and we will be together for eternity." they shared a kiss, short but loving. Severus pulled away and was about to speak, but picked up a scent close by.
"Marcus…" Marcus smelled it too, and leaned to the side of the roof looking down. He saw a flash of blonde hair, but it was long and the figure took one look up in the other direction before leaving. Marcus made to follow with Severus, but they both lost the intruder. "What is it?"
"That was Athenodora." he looked to Severus. "Look there." he pointed up and through a clean window Severus spotted Potter with Caius.
"No…" he knew what this meant.
"We have to call Aro, come." they took off quickly back towards the castle, knowing that if Athenodora was hiding in the city they had to find her before Caius did or before Harry was hurt.
Hope you liked it, things got a bit busy around here so I haven't been able to update as often as I'd like.
Next chapter…Athenodora returns in person. Question is, what is she going to do? Is she going to get Harry and Desiree, or just use them to get to Caius. I cannot say if this will be her last appearance, I'm not fully sure on it. I will say though, she won't be a problem for too much longer.
