I'm back!
Sorry for the constant delay and I hope you enjoy this new chapter! :)
We were flying towards the tree. As we flew nearer, I could see Soren smiling happily.
"LENNY!" he screamed.
"SOREN!" I screamed back.
I flew right into him and we rolled over each other hugging each other.
"I thought I would never see you again!" he sobbed.
"I thought same!" I said.
"How did you escape? Who is - ? Primrose! You're back!"
Soren nuzzled her small face, making me smile at the sweet site.
"Where's Eglantine?" asked Primrose eagerly.
"She's around somewhere," said Soren.
"PRIMROSE!" came a cry behind them. Eglantine rushed up to her friend from behind me and they hugged and danced about for quite some time.
"Thank you, Lenny!" cried Eglantine hugging me until I couldn't breath.
"Any time," I gasped.
Everyone reunited with me very warmly. Little Gylfie hugged me tight by the leg, Twilight hugged me stronger than Eglantine while Digger strangled me, crying his heart out.
"We'll never get intoxicated again!" he sobbed. "We promise."
"Don't fret!" I laughed. "We never knew this would happen."
I looked down at the necklace Soren gave me. "Looks like luck worked well, Soren," I smiled.
"I'm glad you're alright, my friend."
We ate a wonderful dinner later on, beetles, centipedes, green worms, crickets, snakes and many other tasty morsels. I felt as if I had adapted like Simba eating bugs when he was with Timon and Pumbaa. It had been a long, long while since I had eaten anything humans eat such as burgers, chips, steak, pasta, steak and pasta was my favorite dish.
We had a wonderful time together like the time I had first arrived, telling exiting stories and telling jokes and funny moments in our lives. Then they told me about how some of them were wounded to trying to save me, and that the drunk ones were spared because they were treating the battle like a joke. They wanted them to fight them on the spot to their deaths doe to how violent they were.
"How did you and Primrose meet?" Eglantine eventually asked.
"I was thrown into a cell where I found her crying in fear. We promised to work together to find a way out of the prison. Eventually, we managed and we found our way back here, thanks to Primrose's intelligence about the guiding stars. We'd be lost if it hadn't been for her."
"Thank you," she said shyly.
"I will never forget how Grimble saved us," said Soren looking at Gylfie mournfully.
"Who was Grimble?" I asked curiously.
"An unfortunate owl was got himself trapped at St. Agelious," explained Soren. "The Pure Ones attacked him and his family and the guaranteed that if he worked for them, the will not be harmed."
"He taught me and Soren how to fly," continued Gylfie. "Then after we were ready, Nyra and the Pure Ones ambushed us. Grimble would have escaped with us, but he chose to stay in the hope of freeing his family. He intervened to buy us time to escape, getting killed in the process."
"Oh," I said, sympathetically. "May he rest in peace."
"Hopefully his family is okay," said Soren.
"They probably still are," I pointed out. "Maybe if we ever went back we could find them?"
"It would be a good idea," commented Gylfie. "But not by taking unnecessary risks."
"There is something I have thought," I said. "Suppose they came back to find me? Which just brought me back to something. I overheard them saying they are going to take over my world. They will take over the world and torture everyone."
"Even the monsters in your life?" asked Digger.
"Yes," I said. "But I don't know anyone who deserves to be destroyed by an army of evil owls."
"You are very considerate, Leo," said Twilight. "We must find a way to top them, and fast."
"I'm scared," said Eglantine. "I don't like the owls."
"None of us do, Eg," said Soren. "But sometimes, we must face things that frighten us. That's what gives courage to our hearts."
"I'm not as brave as your, Soren," said Eglantine.
"I never believe I am brave myself," said Soren kindly. "I only fight for he sake of others."
Me and Soren spent the sunset flying together until we finally settled on his favorite branch.
"Are you happy here, Lenny?" he suddenly asked.
"Of course," I said. "Everyone here is wonderful! Gylfie, Digger, Mrs. P., everyone. Why do you ask?"
"Well," said Soren, rather hesitantly. "I just wondered if you ever felt like going home after what you went through? It must have been horrible for you. Plus, they will be looking for you still."
"I'm scared, yes," I admitted. "And I would like to see how home is again, but I will stop these owls along with you from taking over my world."
"You're brave, Lenny," smiled Soren. "I'm glad to have met you."
"I'm glad to have met you too, Soren," I said, my heart full of warmth. I have always loved this character. He had always inspired me to live up to my dreams.
"Soren," I said. "You seem more like a brother to me than a friend."
Soren had shocked look on his face. "It's funny," he said. "Because I have always felt the same way with you."
"I shall definitely stay and help you then," I said. "For a friend to the end."
"Family to the end," smiled Soren.
We both hugged.
