Chapter 10

(Real World)

The presence of the son of Thor has brought their feud to a standstill. No one has seen a demigod from the Norse side before that interferes with Greek business.

Percy knew about the existence of gods from other pantheons, but like they've always had before, they kept their distance away. Should two different pantheons meet with each other, it'll be a disaster.

The son of Thor, Ai, pulled his cloth off. He looks like a renegade, with worn out clothes and a leather vest. He had a black scarf wrapped around his neck and leather pants.

"What are you doing here?" Percy growled. "You're not supposed to be here,"

Ai smirked. "The God of Time," He mused. "The All-Father has spoken highly of your feat to overthrown Zeus." Then, he turned towards Luke. "And you. Your little schemes have caused disturbance even in the Yggdrasil. I suggest you stop before the All-Father intervenes."

"Bah," Luke spat. "Go back to your pantheon before I crush you,"

"I have no business dealing with you." Ai grunted. "I'm simply here to warn you."

Luke wasted no time before he sprints forward with his sword at the ready. Ai thrust his hand out, shooting a bolt of black lightning at Luke. The intensity of his power made Percy's hair on his arms stood up. Luke got blasted and sent flying away into the distance, out of sight.

Then, he turned towards Percy with a smirk. "I have no quarrel with Olympus." He said.

"Doesn't seem like that," Artemis joined in with her arrow notched. "Explain why you're here."

"Luke was trying something that would start Ragnarok at our end." Ai explained. "Of course, it's only a matter of time before Ragnarok truly starts, and that time is soon upon us. There will be a time where we will have to work together, Olympian. It may come sooner than you think, or may come later. But it will come, and I hope you will be more cooperative than your friend,"

"We don't owe you Northerners anything," Percy stated out.

"We don't owe you Olympians anything either, but like it or not, we're gonna need each others help very soon," Ai said. "It's a war that's going to hit from all fronts. We are fighting our own battles as we speak,"

Percy relaxed a bit, but he didn't put his guard down. "How do you know of our existence? You're a demigod. You should have no knowledge of us."

Ai just turned towards the sky. "Your Queen knows a lot more than she lets on." Ai explained. "The All-Father knows of your existence. And so does Ra and Jupiter."

Percy sighed. Something big is happening and all pantheons are involved. This is not going to be a good event. Soon, they're going to have a full on Marvel-style universe crossover to deal with. "I have a feeling this was going to happen."

"This is the start of Ragnarok," Ai said. Then, a beam of light shined on Ai. "Ah, that's my cue." He turned towards Percy and bowed. "Until we meet again, God of Time," Then, he disappeared in a flash of light. Luke was nowhere to be seen. He was probably injured from that lightning bolt because that shit looked like it hurt.

"Are you okay, Percy?" Artemis asked.

"I'm fine," Percy said. "We really need to wake everyone else as soon as possible,"

Line Break

With Poseidon awake, that just leaves three Olympian remaining: Dionysus, Aphrodite, and Demeter. Not to be rude, but none of them would be any help since most of the Council is awake now. So Percy decided to wake the ones in the Land of Dreams.

Turns out, waking up someone that's Lucid Dreaming is really easy. Especially if you douse them with water. Sophia and Annabeth yawned as they woke up. Hestia didn't look very happy about how her body felt, but none more annoyed than Mary.

"Did you really have to do that?" She grumbled as she wiped out her hair.

"Artemis's idea," Percy shrugged. Was it just him or had Mary changed?

"What's with the eyepatch?" Mary asked.

"A story for another time,"

Sophia immediately hugged her father, which Percy returned gladly. Artemis found herself to feel a little bit of jealousy. Not at Sophia, but at Percy. She was jealous because he had a daughter that he could care for. Someone he could love with all his heart and take care of no matter what.

It's not like Artemis didn't love Percy or her Hunters. She loves them, but it's different from loving your own flesh and blood. It's really hard to explain.

Percy walked over towards Artemis and gave her a peck on the lips, which made her feel better.

"So, what's the plan now?" Annabeth asked.

"We need to find the source of this power." Percy said. "Since finding Morpheus in his own realm is almost impossible, we're need to track him down from here."

"Huh," Mary said. "I guess my work here is done,"

"Yeah, I guess so," Percy said. He never really thought about it, but the only reason Mary was on this quest was because Percy wanted to save his brothers and sisters who're trapped in their dreams. Now that they're going on a different approach, she's not needed anymore.

Mary on the other hand, felt different. At first, she was eager to get her job done and then get the fuck away from everyone. This was her chance to start a new life. But after a while, she got close to them. Especially with Hestia. During their time in the Land of Dreams, they talked a lot. Even though Mary shared many of her dark past with Hestia, it didn't scare her at all. In fact, Mary felt good after having someone to talk to after so long. In turn, Hestia shared the stories of her family with Mary. She was the closest Mary ever known to a family, aside from Percy.

And she didn't want to admit it out loud, but she was getting close to Artemis as well. Of course they bicker and argue at times, but hey, it keeps life interesting.

"You're free to go, Mary," Percy said. "I'm going to honour my deal and give you a few days head start." Now that Percy said it, she didn't really feel like running away. She wanted to stay, with them.

Sure, she can start a new life. But she would be alone. No one to share stories with. No one to argue with. Was it worth it?

No, she mentally scolded herself. This world, where gods and monsters existed, it's not meant for her. She's a mortal. She doesn't belong here with this mythical beings.

"Sure," Mary said, trying to hide the sadness in her voice. "I'll see you around, Perseus," Mary walked out of the house, her mind wandering off. She wondered where she should go. She wanted to start a new life but . . .

Where does she start?

Line Break

Percy didn't feel that good after Mary left. He didn't want her to leave and had almost wanted her to stay, but a promise is a promise. Besides, he can't involve Mary further more than he already has. Even though she's a murderer, she's still a mortal.

"Anyway, we need to find a way to wake up the other Olympians." Percy said. "And the only way to do that is to find Morpheus."

"Who, almost no one in Olympus ever sees, hides away from the world very well, and no one knows what he looks like," Artemis stated out. "How exactly do you plan on doing that?"

Right on cue, Selene's voice echoed in Percy's head. We found him.

Who? Percy asked. Luke, or Morpheus?

Both, Selene replied. They're on a cruise ship. The Princess Andromeda. It's really hard to detect with magic. You have to physically see it yourself.

Where is it heading?

It's near San Francisco Bay. And Percy, Selene didn't sound too confident. There's something powerful inside. Like, more powerful than me. Be careful if you're going there.

Understood. Thank you, Selene. Percy turned towards the others. "Selene found him."

"What? Where?" Artemis asked.

"On a cruise ship. Princess Andromeda." Percy explained. "Right now, it's sailing around San Francisco Bay."

"That's impossible. If Morpheus is actually on that ship, we should've detected it by now. At least Poseidon should have." Artemis said.

"Maybe it's hid away by magic," Hestia summed up. "Blocking it from any detection."

Percy nodded. "Unless you're physically seeing it, there's no way to know where it is." He then turned towards Sophia and Annabeth. "I'm sorry, but I can't let you girls come along,"

"But Dad, I want to help," Sophia pleaded.

Percy shook his head. "It's too dangerous. There will be monsters and demigods there. I can't let them hurt you," Percy hugged his daughter. "I'll come back home, okay?"

"Promise?" Sophia sobbed.

"I promise," Percy smiled as he kissed his forehead. He turned towards Hestia. "Sister, can you send the girls and Artemis back?"

"What? No," Artemis protested. "I'm coming with you,"

"No way," Percy said. "It's too dangerous."

"Uh, yes way. I'm not letting you go alone."

Percy groaned. "Fine."

Hestia hugged Percy and Artemis. "Come back safe, you two."

"We will," Percy assured her with a smile. He ruffled Sophia's hair. "Be safe, Sophia."

Sophia hugged Percy as tightly as he could. Then, she did something that surprised everyone. She went over and gave Artemis a hug. Artemis wasn't expecting it and neither was Percy.

"Come back with daddy, okay?" She said softly.

Artemis managed a smile. "We will, okay Sophie?" Artemis kissed her forehead.

Line Break

After Hestia brought the girls back home, Percy and Artemis flashed at the top of the Golden Gate Bridge. It was almost midnight. The cold air breezed against their skin with the moonlight shining on them.

At the distance, Percy could see many ships on the water but only one of them radiated some sort of . . . aura. A menacing aura at that.

Artemis laced her fingers with his. Percy gripped it tightly, trying to comfort her.

"Once we get him, it'll be over." Percy said.

"Yeah," Artemis muttered nervously. "Can't we just make it explode or something? I can do it with just my fingers."

Percy shook his head. "We can't risk it. If it can block our magical senses from seeing it, then maybe it can block our powers. If that happens, it'll just alert them that we know about their location and they'll disappear from us again."

"So the only plan you have is to infiltrate their ship?" Artemis asked. Percy nodded. "How do you know that their ship doesn't keep us out as well? Like some sort of magical barrier for gods."

"I don't," Percy admitted. "But I figured since Morpheus is allowed on that ship, then maybe we are as well." He stared towards the horizon. He was a bit scared. If this power that Selene mentions is as powerful as she claims, then they were in deep shit.

"We'll get through this," Artemis assured him, but it almost sounded like she was trying to reassure herself. After what she'd experienced in the Land of Dreams where her archery failed her and then in the real world where she'd gained tremendous amount of unknown power, she was scared. Not of the enemy, but of the thought of failing to protect Percy. Maybe it's better if she stayed back.

But she couldn't bring herself to do that. Percy depended on her, just as much as she depended on him. Their lives are linked with one another. If one of them dies, the other dies as well. Although Artemis doesn't know how an immortal could die, but she wasn't keen on trying it out. They needed each other, more than ever.

"Yes, we will," Percy gripped her hand tightly.

Line Break

The plan was to go for a stealthy approach, put Morpheus back to sleep and hopefully, get back what Luke stole from the Olympian vault.

At least, that was the plan.

By the time they were half way through their skydive- yes, you read that right -arrows were flying towards them already.

They cruise ship up close was even bigger than Percy had originally thought. It's pretty much what you expect from a cruise ship with a length of one and a half football field. The top deck was decorated with swimming pools and lounge bars. The cruise ship was five stories high counting from the main deck. It was something that Percy had sailed once in his immortal life.

There was only one problem. It was littered with monsters.

As they reached terminal velocity, Percy took out his guns and shot at any target he could find and Artemis, thanks to her godly powers, are now hitting the targets in rapid succession. Monster after monster disintegrated into golden dust, clearing the top deck for them to land.

Percy manipulated the space beneath them and soften their landing. The mixture of monsters from hellhounds to Cyclopes to draecaenaes glared and growled at them.

As soon as their feet touched the ground, Percy and Artemis went to work. While Artemis fired arrows and hitting them in between the eyes with every shot, Percy took his sword out and started to hack and slash at them. They were in synergy with one another.

By the time the floor was covered in monster dust, a voice shouted, "ENOUGH!"

The monsters backed away as Percy and Artemis took a defensive posture. The monster crowd parted, revealing Luke standing next to a hooded figure.

"Well, well," Luke grinned. "If it isn't the Moon Goddess herself, and her bratty boyfriend."

Artemis was about to lunge at him before Percy held her back. "Stop your plans, Luke. Release everyone from their nightmare,"

Luke wagged his finger. "Can't do that. If I do, then he will get mad," He then snapped his fingers. "Ah, here's an idea. Why don't you leave the ship in peace, or I will put your friend in a slumber so deep that she will not open her eyes ever again?" Luke gestured his goons to bring the prisoner he just took.

"Selene!" Percy shouted out, but it was no good. Selene was asleep, but her face showed deep pain. "Let her go!"

"Nope. Unless you leave, then we can give her back to you. Otherwise . . ." Luke looked at Selene. The hooded figure, which has to be Morpheus, waved his hand in front of Selene and she started to squirm in pain.

Percy took his gun out and shot at Morpheus, but it just passed through him like he was made out of mist.

In Artemis's mind, Percy spoke. On my cue, go for Selene.

What are you planning? Artemis asked.

Don't wait for me. Just go and get out of this ship.

Wait, what are you-

"Alright Luke," Percy said. "We'll leave."

"Now, that's a good boy. If you can just-" He was interrupted by something . . . weird.

You know that feeling where suddenly everything goes dull? Like the air around you suddenly presses onto your skin? It's like suddenly being transported into the bottom of the ocean with nothing to protect you from the immense pressure from the water.

That's what it felt like. Artemis glanced at Percy to see he has taken off his eyepatch. What Artemis saw terrified her. The darkness in his eye radiated pure evil. Artemis has seen a lot of scary beings with tremendous power, but what she's seeing now . . . it's on a whole new level.

Go now. Percy's voice whispered in her mind. Artemis nodded and rushed forward past the enemies who are stunned. She grabbed Selene and then flashed out of there, back to Olympus.

Don't come back here. Percy warned. Stay safe. I'll be back soon.

Percy, what are you doing?

Back on the Princess Andromeda, no one was moving. It's not like Percy froze time or anything, but it's more like that they don't want to move. Whatever the power that eye holds, they were no match for it.

Percy walked towards Morpheus. Each step he took shook the floor of the ship. Percy held his gun towards Morpheus's head. "Release them from your spell."

"No," He squeaked out.

"My orders are absolute," Percy said sternly. "RELEASE THEM!"

Suddenly, the air got heavier. "You've all denied me long enough," Percy said with anger. "Bow your heads," The gravity seemed to pull their heads down, forcing them to bow. Then, he turned towards Morpheus. "Release them, or I will send you to Tartarus the hard way."

Morpheus nodded shakily.

"You will pay for this," Luke managed to growl. Percy smirked.

"It's not enough to make you bow." Percy said. "Kneel,"

Something seemed to pull Luke's body towards the ground. The more he resisted, the stronger the pull got until he gave in and he knelt at Percy. "Tell your master, I will be waiting for him."

Then Percy vanished in a flash of light.

Line Break

Artemis was back at Olympus with Selene who was being taken care of by Apollo.

"Is she okay?" Artemis asked.

"She's just asleep." Apollo said. "Percy must've done something right. She'll wake up soon,"

Artemis exhaled a sigh of relief. Now, she just hopes that Percy's okay. Facing all of them on that boat is not an easy feat, even if you're a god. Then again, Artemis had never seen powers like Percy's before. It was unlike anything she'd ever seen before. Now she knew why Percy wasn't eager to show it to her.

"I'm going to check on Percy," Artemis said. "Maybe he's-"

"He's at Camp Half-Blood." Apollo stated out.

"Wait, what?"

"Yeah. He's just arrived there." Apollo said.

"Thank you," Artemis gave her brother a quick hug before flashing to the Big House. All Artemis saw was Percy's body smoking hot.

That didn't sound right.

"Percy!" Artemis rushed to his side. Percy was coughing and was panting heavily. Chiron was doing what he can next to him, but it's not helping much. "Chiron, what happened?"

"I really don't know, Milady," Chiron said. "Perseus just appeared out of nowhere."

Then, his breathing slowed gradually. "I'll be fine," Percy managed while panting. "Just . . . need . . . rest . . ." Then he passed out.

"Percy!"

"I think he's just unconscious." Chiron said. "We should let him rest, Lady Artemis,"

Artemis didn't even realize she was crying until her tears dropped on Percy's body. But she felt relieved. At least Percy's not dead.

Artemis could hear footsteps running towards the Big House. She turned around to see Julia and Lily, both wide awake. "Lady Artemis!" They ran and gave her a big hug. Artemis hugged them back tightly. "We're awake!"

"I'm so glad you girls are safe," Artemis said with a smile on her face and tears in her eyes. After what seemed like an eternity of trying to save them from Morpheus's realm, they were finally free.

Then, Artemis heard another voice from outside the Big House. "Daddy?" Sophia's voice called out. She entered and saw Artemis and her father. She rushed forward and gave Artemis a really tight hug. "What's wrong with Dad?"

"He's okay, Sophia," Artemis managed. "He just needs some rest." Sophia smiled and hugged her father.

Line Break

Artemis returned to the Hunt where everyone was happy she was back. They wanted to hear the stories of what she'd done and how they'd stopped Morpheus's plan.

"Alright girls. I will tell you," Artemis said with a smile. "Take a seat everyone."

Line Break

Percy woke up with a very unpleasant headache. He was sleeping on a bed in one of the Big House's guest rooms. He sat up slowly, trying to get rid of the headache.

What he remembered from that ship was very blurry. All he remembered was releasing a tremendous amount of power that he never knew existed. It felt like Percy was burning from the inside, slowly melting into a puddle of golden blood. Percy remembered his enemies bowing to him. What was that all about?

He got out of bed and he was surprised how dead his legs felt. It was as if he had Slinkys for legs. He'd never felt like this before in his entire immortal life.

After a few attempts of falling face first to the floor, Percy finally managed to stand up. He walked over shakily towards the door. The main lounge was empty, except for Chiron who was in his wheelchair.

"Hey Chiron," Percy said weakly.

Chiron turned. "Perseus! You're awake!" He exclaimed happily.

"More or less," He muttered. "Where's-"

"Sophia is fine," Chiron supplied. "She's been waiting for you to wake up,"

Percy sighed in relief. "And Artemis?"

"She went back to the Hunt and hopes that you'll visit her." Chiron said.

Percy took a seat on one of the sofas. "I will." He grunted. "Can you get Sophia for me?"

Chiron nodded. He went on to call Sophia.

Even though he's relieved that his daughter and Artemis are okay, as well as the other Olympians, the fight is still not over. Percy could feel Kronos's presence on that ship, which was impossible. His essence is scattered all over Tartarus. If he's reforming, then it's not going to be good for everyone. He's going to need to talk to the rest of the Olympian council about this soon. If they're really going against his father, then they were going to need all the help they can get.

"Daddy!" Sophia exclaimed as she tackled him with a hug. Percy smiled as he embraced his daughter. "You're back!"

"Yeah," Percy kissed her head. "I promised you, didn't I?"

Line Break

After seeing Sophia, Percy decided to meet Artemis as well. He flashed to the Hunters' camp where Artemis was busy telling the stories to her hunters. When Artemis saw him, her eyes widened and she crushed him with a hug. The Hunters cheered for them before Artemis realized what she was doing and let her boyfriend go.

"I'll continue the story later, okay?" Artemis said. The Hunters whined, but they understood.

Percy and Artemis went into Artemis's tent before Artemis smashed her lips into his. Percy was taken by surprise, but he returned the kiss gladly.

When Artemis pulled away, he was met with a slap to the face. "Ow!"

"Don't ever do that to me again!" She cried out as tears streamed out of her eyes. Then she sobbed into his chest. "From now, we stick together. Never separated."

Percy gently caressed her hair. "I promise,"

Of course, everything happy doesn't last that long.

They heard an ungodly roar outside and the Hunters started to scream. Both gods rushed outside to see a Nightmare the shape of a drakon slithering out from the woods.

"What the hell," Percy muttered. "I thought this was all over!"

"Well, doesn't appear that way," Artemis grunted as the two charged into battle again.
