Nina POV

We stayed in the cafe until they had to close and kicked us out. Then we relocated our reunion to the student common room in our dorm room building.

Did I mention, WE'VE BEEN LIVING IN THE SAME BUILDING THE WHOLE TIME?

At around 1 AM it occurred to me that I was completely unprepared for my huge test tomorrow. Fabian had the same dilemma.

We had been talking nonstop for hours and we could keep going for much longer, but it was time to say goodnight.

The conversation finally halted.

"So..." I said, trying to end the awkward silence.

Why am I so weird?

"So goodnight?" Fabian followed my lead.

"Yeah, goodnight to you too.."

"Well I'll text you tomorrow after my exam and we could see each other again, if you want..."

It's hard to believe how quickly Fabian and I could fall back into our old relationship. I still can't believe he's here. I still can't believe I gave him up.

Without saying goodbye.

"I mean, you're probably busy and have plans with your friends..." he stumbled awkwardly.

Of course. I forgot to reply when he asked to meet me tomorrow.

I'm a social disaster.

"Sorry, just lost in thoughts I guess.. I've love to meet up tomorrow and-" I interrupted myself with a huge yawn.

"I think it's time for me to get some sleep."

"Sweet dreams!"

We walk in opposite directions to get to our rooms. Before I leave the common room I hear him say something again.

"I'm afraid to go to sleep."

"Why?"

"I'm afraid you're just a really vivid dream and I'm going to wake up and you'll still be gone..."

I walk up to him, hold his hands and touch my forehead against his.

"I'm not going anywhere."

We both left and went to bed, after a goodnight kiss.

Or two.

Or three.

Or- you know what? Who's counting.
