Hey guys, so I have some good news and some bad news. The good news is that, for this story, I have written up to Chapter 15, so that means you guys can expect there to be some good updates. Unfortunately, the bad news is that it seems I've been cut off from just about every wi-fi source up at college, meaning that while I'm up there I can't update. If you want more bad news, I lost the Spectrobes file on my computer completely (Don't worry, I haven't written anything new so I lost nothing that I can't replace). Anyways, William gets mentioned in this chapter, since we all forgot about him during my time of hiatus. Anyways, R&R, PM, and Enjoy!

Chapter 12

(Jason's POV)

After leaving the gym and heading back to the Pokemon Center, I asked where we should head next. "Actually," Janice said, acting a little nervous, "while you were battling Falkner, Will called me on my Poke-Gear." I had almost forgotten about him, and Janice continued, "He wanted to talk to you, but since you were battling he told me to give you a message."

"And?"

"He wants to battle you at the top of Sprout Tower." I remember Meema telling me about the Tower's lore, how it was built around a gigantic Bellsprout. I didn't believe her at first, and I still don't, but she keeps telling me otherwise.

"If it's a battle he wants, it's a battle he'll get." Nurse Joy returned with Blaster and Typhon's Poke Balls and I thanked her. I walked over to one of the tables and called Typhon out. He ended up on the table and I moved him to my lap. "Hey Typhon, you feel better?"

"Yep, I feel great!"

"Good, because we have another battle coming up. You remember Will and his Totodile, right?"

Typhon huffed, a burst of flames coming out, "Yeah, that big bully. We get to face him again, right?"

I nodded, "He wants to battle us at Sprout Tower."

"Then what are we still doing here?" Typhon jumped out of my lap and onto the floor. "Let's go right now!"

I smiled at his enthusiasm, but said, "There's just one problem." Typhon titled his head and I picked him up again. "His Totodile is probably a lot stronger now, it probably already knows Water Gun or another Water-type move. Blaster's not experienced enough, and I know Monarch and Sting can handle themselves, but I still think we need a Grass-type added to our team."

"You can probably find Bellsprout in the Tower." I looked up and saw Janice sitting next to me, Lucy in her arms. "They might be a bit weak, but some training will go a long way for them." I nodded and saw Meema renting a room for the night. I looked outside and saw that it was already twilight out. A ringtone sounded and I looked to Janice, who pulled out her Poke-Gear. She opened it and Will's face appeared on the screen.

"Will?"

"Is Jason finished with his battle, or did he lose and have to fight again?"

I slid over and said, "I'm right here, Will." Will scoffed, and I pulled out my badge to show him. "And I also got this."

I showed him the Zephyr badge and he replied, "Big deal." He pulled out his own badge case and showed that he had the badge as well. "I didn't think you were going to show, but I guess now that you're here you'll accept my challenge?"

"Anytime, anywhere."

"Good, meet me at the top of Sprout Tower. Midnight, oh, and have Janice come along too." I looked to Janice, and she nodded.

"We'll be there." Janice cut off the line and I sighed. "Well, that's that." Janice nodded, stroking Lucy's back.

Meema walked back over to us and sat down across from me and Janice, "Alright, we have a room for the night and in the morning we head out to Route 32." Both Janice and I were unresponsive, and Meema said, "I need to go make a call." She stood up and left, and I pulled out the Poke Balls that held Blaster, Monarch, and Sting.

I brought them out, Janice still a little nervous about Sting, and I said, "Okay everyone, we have another battle coming up."

"Who is it against?" Monarch asked.

"It's against Will at Sprout Tower, midnight."

"Who's Will?" Blaster asked.

"He's a very mean trainer," Typhon replied.

"Now I know that it won't be easy, especially since he probably has more Pokemon since we last faced him, and he's probably evolved at least one of his Pokemon."

"So what are you suggesting?" Sting asked.

"We need to train and get some new additions to our team. Since he has a Water-type, we should add a Grass-type to our team, like Bellsprout. Typhon, I don't think we should be concerned about evolving you just yet. Blaster, we can try to have you evolve but it would take some time. Monarch and Sting, since you're fully evolved I don't think you'll have much trouble. Although, I think we should teach you a few moves, same with you Typhon."

I stood up and returned everyone but Typhon, who jumped onto my shoulder. I began running out of the Pokemon Center when the doors suddenly opened and I ran into someone. We both fell back and I landed on my rear end, Typhon falling off and landing behind me. I turned around to pick Typhon up and apologized to the one I ran into.

"It's alright," he replied. I turned to him and stood, noticing he was bending over to pick up a red hat. He dusted it off and put it back on, the brim level with the top of his eyes and he turned around. He had brownish-black hair, and his eyes were hidden behind the brim of his hat. He wore a red jacket with a white T-shirt underneath and blue jeans. He walked past me and I watched as he checked in.

My attention went back to Typhon as he jumped onto my shoulder and said, "Come on, daddy. We need to go train."

The one I had bumped into turned his head towards me and I said, "Alright, let's go." We left the center and went out back. "Okay, first we should find a Bellsprout to train." Typhon jumped off my shoulder and began sniffing the air. He began to run off and I followed, thinking he knew where he was going. We ran past the gym and onto another route, Typhon immediately going into a patch of grass. I caught up with him as he began crawling through and I followed him in.

"Hey, watch it!"

I looked down and saw I was about to step on a Bellsprout and said, "Oh, sorry." I moved away and sat down in front of it, Typhon finding me again and jumping on my shoulder. "Uh, listen, I know this isn't something you'd hear everyday, but would you be willing to join me and my team?"

The Bellsprout crossed its arms-stems-and asked, "What's up with this guy?"

He was apparently asking Typhon, who replied, "My daddy's silly. He likes to talk things out first."

"Wait, hold on a sec. Daddy? And how can he understand us?"

"It's a long story."

"Well I've got all night buddy." The Bellsprout took root to prove its point and I sighed.

'I guess I should just get this over with.' I took Typhon off of my shoulder and set him down. I also decided to let out everyone, so they could all listen. I inhaled, and when I exhaled I began to change out of my human form and back into my Celebi form. Once I was fully transformed, I opened my eyes to see Blaster and the Bellsprout astonished at my transformation.

"You, you're, you're-" The Bellsprout began.

I set down in front of him and said, "I'm not the Celebi. However, she is my Meema." I began to tell them my life, how Meema found me in the Ilex Forest, how I grew up, and about my journey.

"But why would you need me to join you? I mean, it's not that I'm glad that you chose me, but there are a lot of other Pokemon around that are better."

"Well, at midnight, I'm supposed to have a battle with another Trainer, Will. He has a Totodile and, as you can see, I don't have a Grass or an Electric-type."

"So you want me to join you so you can have a type advantage?"

"It's your choice whether or not you want to stay with us on the team afterwards, but I would be grateful if you at least helped us with this."

The Bellsprout was silent for a moment, before saying, "I'll help you with your battle, but I'll have to get back to you on afterwards." I smiled and transformed back into my human form, then pulled out a Poke Ball. The Bellsprout tapped the button and it was captured. I let out the Bellsprout instantly and I stood up.

"Okay, since your our newest member, Bellsprout, I'll start training you first." I pulled out my Pokedex and pointed it at the new member of our team.

"Bellsprout, the Flower Pokemon. It prefers hot and humid environments. It is quick at capturing prey with its vines. Currently, this Pokemon only knows one move: Vine Whip."

I put the Pokedex away and said, "Alright, since you only know the one move, we should work on getting you some new moves. The best way to do that would be to get some battle experience, battling against some weaker opponents first and then moving on to stronger ones as we go."

(? POV)

After checking into my room and getting all of my things together, I decided to go out and explore a little. I had only just visited the Johto region, and already it looked beautiful, much like my home region. I left my room and went down to the lobby, noticing a girl sitting with a Cyndaquil in her lap. A woman walked over to her and began talking with her, but I paid them no mind. I left the Pokemon Center and noticed the same boy I had bumped into earlier rush past me.

I watched as he ran towards Route 31 and I decided to follow him. I walked a few feet behind him and followed him out to Route 31. I went behind a tree to watch and saw him bring out a Bellsprout and a Cyndaquil. The three of them began searching through the tall grass, and whenever a Pokemon appeared they would battle. The Bellsprout went first, attacking when it could and then the Cyndaquil finished it off. It was an effective strategy, and the boy seemed to have plenty of medicine items.

Over time, the boy checked his Pokedex frequently, most likely to check on any new moves his Pokemon were learning. He also checked his Poke-Gear, for whatever reason, and soon the boy returned both of his Pokemon and started back towards the gate. As soon as he passed, I called out, "A little late for a training session, don't you think?"

He stopped and turned to me, then said, "You, you're the guy from the Pokemon Center."

"That's right," I said, beginning to walk over to him.

He took a few steps back and said, "Listen, I said I was sorry."

I stopped, realizing what he meant, and said, "No, it's nothing like that. I said it was alright."

"So, what do you want from me?" I paused for a moment and thought about this kid.

'That Cyndaquil of his, it said...'

"I want a battle." I pulled out a Poke Ball and showed it to him.

The boy smiled and said, "Alright, then. Let's show this guy what you learned, Bellsprout!" He tossed out a Poke Ball and the small Grass-type Pokemon appeared.

"Ready to test out some of my new moves?"

"You got it, Bellsprout. So let's see what you've got." I tossed the Poke Ball into the air, wordlessly, and after a flash of light a Pidgey came out. It was a recent capture, but I did train with the Pokemon for quite some time. "Okay, Bellsprout, we need to hit it hard and fast!"

"Right!"

"Pidgey, use Quick Attack!" The small bird Pokemon flapped its wings very fast and dashed for the Bellsprout, hitting it and knocking it back.

"Bellsprout, you okay?"

"A little shaken up, but other than that I'm fine."

"Okay, then use PoisonPowder!" The Bellsprout shot out a ball of poisonous spores from its mouth, and it hit Pidgey as it flew back to my side, poisoning it.

"Alright, I got it!"

"Now use Wrap."

"Quick Attack!" Pidgey dove down and rammed into the Bellsprout, but as a result it made it an easier target for Bellsprout's Wrap. Using its vines, the Bellsprout wrapped around the Pidgey's body, but still allowing it's wing's some freedom.

The Pidgey cried out, and the boy shouted, "Alright, we got him right where we want him. Now use Vine Whip."

More vines sprouted and prepared to strike the Pidgey, but I quickly ordered, "Gust!" The Pidgey began flapping its wings as fast as it could, but the Bellsprout continued to hold on due to its Wrap. It still did quite a bit of damage, though, and I quickly followed it up with another Quick Attack. This time, the Pidgey flew up into the air, carrying the Bellsprout with it, and it began picking up speed. "Use the trees!" I shouted, and it understood. It began flying near the trees, making sharp turns that caused the Bellsprout to hit them and be dragged off once again. "Now drop it." The Pidgey began flying towards the ground, still flying at the same speed, and before it reached the ground it turned up and avoided it. The same couldn't be said for the Bellsprout, which hit the ground and let go of the Pidgey. The Bellsprout was still active, but I could already tell it was close to fainting.

"Hang on Bellsprout," the kid called out. He ran out towards the Bellsprout and picked it up, carrying it back to his side. "You don't have to take me out, I can still fight."

The boy shook his head and said, "You've done enough. Besides, I still need you for the next battle." The Bellsprout nodded its head and I began to think again.

'So, my assumptions were correct. But finding out whether or not he truly is who I think he is will have to wait.' I returned Pidgey and the boy looked to me. "The battle's over," I said. "It was a good battle, but I'm sure you have somewhere else to be."

The boy nodded and he returned his Bellsprout. He began running back to the gate and he quickly thanked me for the battle. 'Good luck kid, you're going to need it.'

(Jason's POV)

After returning to Violet City, I quickly went back to the Pokemon Center to heal Bellsprout. 'That guy sure knows how to battle,' I thought as I waited for Bellsprout to be healed. 'Hopefully I'll see him again. Then I can challenge him to an official battle.'

Nurse Joy returned with Bellsprout's Poke Ball and I let him out. "Hey Bellsprout, how're you feeling?"

"To be honest, a little depressed. That was my first battle against a Trainer and I blew it."

"Nobody's perfect. And besides, not everyone's first battle is going to be successful." The Bellsprout looked up at me and I nodded.

Bellsprout seemed to regain some of its confidence and said, "Okay then during the next battle count on me to win." I smiled at his enthusiasm and I nodded once again. I returned him and decided to find Janice and Meema.

After heading up to the rooms, I contacted Meema telepathically and asked, "Meema, what room are you in?"

"Room 103. Where were you?"

"I was out by Route 31. I was training a new addition to my team." I reached the room and the door opened. Meema was the one who opened it, and she pretended to look surprised.

"There you are," she said. I noticed Janice looking over to me and I went inside. I claimed the open top bunk and set my bag down. I got up to the bunk and Janice asked if I was successful. I pulled out his Poke Ball and let him out. Meema noticed my new addition and she said, "A Bellsprout. Very nice. Now you have one starter type each."

I nodded and let Bellsprout roam for a while. After a while, Meema called for lights out and I returned Bellsprout to his Poke Ball. Meema shut off the lights and everyone began to drift off to sleep.

Alright, so next chapter will be Will vs Jason. As always, R&R, PM, and good night.
