Tatia watched from a distance in disgust and reverence. Kol and Elijah had managed to make it to Katherine before she could but that fact was lost on her. She was too caught up watching the brothers to care about them making it to the doppelganger first. Tatia took notice of the stiff posture of both brothers; this of course was a more natural stance for Elijah but nothing like Kol's lax, languid posture that she was used to. This fact only served to fuel the doppelganger hating fire that she has within for she knew what had the youngest brother on edge. It was the same reason Elijah's stance was more rigid than normal, the damn doppelgangers that had replaced her in her absence.

Tatia saw red, as black vein darkened her eyes, and two long pearly canines popped over her bottom lip. A light hiss escaped before she gained control over her raging emotions. But when her head was clear it became even more apparent what she had to do in order to get the three men she loved most back, she would have to kill the doppelgangers. In fact, she would have to rid them of any woman they dared to care about. With her plan already in motion she plotted out her next moves carefully so she had time to carry it out without any disruptions.

Inside the Salvatore manor, Elijah was struggling with his own emotions. After 200 and some odd years it should have been easier to see his beloved Katarina with another, well two another's but that goes without saying. But to see her viably happy struck him in a place that rarely was touched- his heart. With a great deal of inner strength, he pushed down the feeling of longing and pain that was slowly consuming him.

"Hey Elijah", Katherine chirped. She looked at the two in front of her and her face suddenly scrunched in confusion, "I thought Elena was with you."

Before Elijah could calmly explain the situation without causing panic, Kol spoke, "She's been kidnapped and we think you have an idea of who could have done such a thing." He proceeded to explain the entire scenario of how and where Elena was taken.

Elijah cursed the brashness of Kol but he could understand the urgency his brother was feeling to find Elena.

Katherine was, silently and unaware, on board with Elijah's feeling that Kol was being somewhat insensitive towards the issue but little did she know how the brash Original felt.

Then the true weight of the situation sunk in, her sister went missing and in the company of the oldest vampire on earth nonetheless.

"How could you let this happen to her, she was under your protection was she not?!" Katherine accused." Why didn't she just listen to me and leave?" she whispered dejectedly as Stefan wrapped a comforting arm over her shoulders.

Elijah gave her a brief moment to let her feelings settle before asking the question that had brought them back to Mystic Falls.

"Do you know who may have taken her?" He asked softly. He didn't want to upset her more than he had already.

Sorrowfully she nodded her head, "I know who it is but not who exactly." She stated cryptically, which only served to annoy Kol.

"Do you know or not?" He ground out. His fists were clenched, and Elijah knew that Kol was coming to the end of his rope.

Katherine clarified," This person tried to get me killed once back in 1904. They massacred an entire village and left only me, which left the neighboring villages to assume that I had been the one to slay the village. And of course it didn't help they were all a suspicious bunch, l left before they could give me a proper trial but I know that this person wanted me to get blamed."

Kol shifted slightly in the chair he had occupied during Katherine's explanation," So you know that someone is after doppelgangers, possibly trying to get rid of them." He briefly paused, not even being able to think of the possibility that Elena may already be dead. "Who would want that? And if that is truly the case, you're not safe either."

Katherine just nodded in affirmation. She knew that she wasn't safe, especially if this person had taken to kidnapping. What really had Katherine's mind in a whirl, was the fact that Elena had been taken under the watch of two Originals. Who could get by an Original without detection?

Elena had been trying to free herself from the vervain soaked ropes that had her permanently bound to a very uncomfortable chair but to not avail. She gave up with a final huff of annoyance and defeat. It had been a total of 5 days, if she had been correct, that she had been locked up by the evil Tatia.

It was moments when she thought of Tatia and Katherine, that she wished her life had been different, that maybe she could have been born with a face that was unlike two others. Maybe that was a lot to ask for but so much in her life could have been avoided, if only she wasn't the doppelganger.

But then another thought struck, she wouldn't have met Kol. Yet, in the same breath Vicki would still be alive, Tyler wouldn't be a hybrid, Caroline wouldn't be a vampire, many innocent bystanders would be alive, and Stefan and Damon would never have had a reason to be a part of her life. The last part didn't faze her anymore; she had long since gotten over the Salvatore brothers and their controlling antics. It seemed the elder doppelganger had a better hand when it came to dealing with the childish ways of the brothers.

Another sigh passed her lips; in her heart she knew that wishing wasn't going to bring her family back, her Aunt Jenna, Alaric, her real father, or even her real mom. And she knew that she had to accept her life and all the crazy that came along with it, although in retrospect she never expected that dealing with the first of her line would end up with her tied in some dark dungeon for nearly a week and Elena had a feeling that the worst was yet to come.

A/N It's been a while, I know and I'm sorry. I hope to keep up on my stories in the year to come but that's a wish. Hope you enjoyed and R&R please.
