"Look at them. Aren't they sweet? They look happier than they've ever been..." Fern whispered as she and Linden looked into the hospital room.

Adelaide was asleep in the bed, while a twin had fallen asleep in chairs on either side of her, heads propped up on the bed.

All three had small smiles on their faces, even in sleep.

"They're fine, for now. We can come back and talk to their mom when they're all awake." Linden shut the door behind them.

"Nora? Can you hear me?" Haidar looked at his sister's face as he held his sister's hand.

"I don't know if you can. I'm here though. I'm here for you now. I wish I could have been there to protect you from whatever happened to you... But I'm not going to leave you again..." he said softly.

He felt it only slightly, but there was no doubt that he felt it.

Her hand squeezed his.

His eyes widened.

"Nora? Nora? Antenora? You can hear me? If you can, squeeze my hand again..." he tried not to get too excited. It could have just been a twitch; a convulsion of some sort, after all...

Her hand squeezed his again, except this time, the grip was tighter.

A doctor entered the room just then.

"Your sister is coming along nicely, young man. In all honestly, a wound like that would have killed her, especially with the heavy duty magic she had to perform to escape your home world at the same time..." she spoke evenly.

Haidar nodded. "She... squeezed my hand just now. Twice. The first time, I wasn't sure. The second time... I asked her to if she could hear me and..."

"Is that so? That's excellent news then! We've been waiting for her to respond to external stimuli. If that is the case, then that means she should awaken pretty soon after that!" the doctor smiled.

She moved swiftly to Antenora's bedside.

"Antenora? This is your doctor. Doctor Chavon here. If you can hear me, squeeze your brother's hand as tightly as you can." she spoke urgently.

Antenora's hand squeezed Haidar's even tighter than it had before.

"This is delightful!" Dr Chavon clasped her hands together. "I will check her meds now. Some dosages will need to be adjusted and some should be discontinued or replaced now. You will have her back soon. I'll do my best to make sure that happens." she moved towards the IV's and began working with them.

"Hey mom, dad! What's happening? I miss you!" Miele exclaimed as she spoke to her parents via holophone the next day.

The DiFiore adults were staying in a hotel a few buildings down from the hospital with the Ganymedi twins, who were currently in the living room of the hotel room, being fascinated by Magix television programming.

"Hey dear. We're fine. All of us. Malachi's and Divina's mother is okay and they've seen her. As to be expected, they're really happy about that." Linden smiled.

"Cool. I wish I could meet her. She seems really nice from what Malachi and Divina say..." Miele said.

"That might well happen, Miele..." Fern smiled.

"Huh? What do you mean, mommy?" Miele raised an eyebrow.

"Queen Panacea has invited her to stay at the Linphean royal palace for now."

"Oh." Miele paused. "Does that mean that the twins will go stay with her there too?"

"Most likely, yes."

Miele's face fell for a brief moment, but she quickly shook it off and smiled. "That's good. They'll be with their mom again... That's always good. I don't know what I'd do if I lost you or daddy like that..."

"We don't know what we'd do if we got separated from you or Flora like that either..." Linden admitted.

They continued to talk for a while about other things, before the conversation had to come to an end.

"Okay, sweetheart. There are some things we have to do now. We'll talk again later. Say hello to Renata's parents for us, please." Fern said.

"I will. Bye!" Miele ended the call.

"How are things?" Queen Panacea asked as soon as they called her.

"Going well. We'll actually talk to her today when we go again. We just let her have her time with her children yesterday. Goodness knows she needs it..." Linden answered.

Panacea nodded. "I see. Remember to issue her my personal invitation when you get there today. I'll send it off to you right now." she snapped her fingers and a cream coloured envelope with writing on the front in gold ink appeared next to the DiFiores.

"Thanks, Your Majesty." Fern snatched the envelope from the air.

"Enough of that. Your older daughter has helped to save the universe multiple times. Including saving our Black Willow. Your younger daughter looks like she'd do the same if she got the chance. Call me by my name, unless we're in an official public setting." the Linpehan Queen smiled.

They nodded.

"So... Pass on my regards to the children as well, won't you?" Panacea smiled when she ended the call.

"Alright. Let's get moving. The twins need the time with their mother and we need our time with her as well." Fern slipped the envelope into her handbag as she strode out into the living room, her husband close behind her.

"Okay, you two. Time to go visit your mother today." Linden spoke first.

"You get to spend the whole day with her this time." Fern added.

"Yes!" the twins cheered, turning off the television first, before scrambling to be the first ones at the door.

"Mommy says that the twins are doing fine and that their mother is okay." Miele smiled as she sat with Renata and Nicholas at their usual lunch table.

"Oh good. Great news for them at last." Nicholas smiled.

"So what is going to happen with them then, when their mother is released from the hospital?" Renata asked through mouthfuls of her sandwich.

"Mom said that their mom is going to stay with Queen Panacea for a while. The twins will most likely go with her too..." Miele answered.

"That is nice to hear. I want to meet her!" Renata exclaimed.

"Me too!" Nicholas agreed.

"My parents said they'd call back and let me know what's happening after they got back from their visit today..." Miele was interrupted by the sounds of school bells ringing, signalling the end of their lunch.

"We can talk more after school. Your house today, right?" Miele looked towards Nicholas.

He nodded.

"Good. Let's go get the rest of this school day finished with then!"

"The protection charms around that home... powerful ones indeed that I was only able to see through briefly before they repelled me... strongly..." Kirova muttered to herself as she paced up and down her private study.

"I did manage to get a brief glimpse of their surroundings however, and I saw lots of plants through the window. Plants I have never seen before in all my travels... Perhaps seeing what I can remember of what that plant looked like..." she held up her staff and an image of the plant in question appeared above it.

It was more of a cluster of rather tall, bluish-purple plants with thick vines that twisted around each other and bunches of leaves near the top that stood in the distance, just outside the window of the room that she had seen the children in.

"Then again, I was never into nature magic." Kirova shrugged, waving her staff as the image dissipated.

"Still, I may just take a chance..." She reached her staff towards the books laid out on her desk and seven of them separated themselves from the others and landed on a corner table just under a window.

She conjured herself a comfortable looking armchair next to the corner table and settled in to read, resting her staff against the wall.
