Hey guys, so here's the newest chapter! I've had a recent spurt of inspiration, but I've kind of taken the story in a more domestic direction, hopefully I can intertwine it with the supernatural aspect, then tie that up and maybe finish the story so i can start another. So here it is, let me know what you think so PLEASE REVIEW! :)

Chapter 11

Lauren POV

I woke up, knowing I was awake, but chose not to move a muscle or open my eyes. I continued to breathe deeply and kept all the muscles in my body relaxed. I enjoyed waking up and not feeling achy, not feeling like I was going to puke blood, not feeling insane. I smiled a little and peeked through my lashes to see Kol on his side facing me, one hand loosely holding my wrist. I stiffened, shocked. Did he repeatedly take my pain throughout the whole night?

He shifted a little and I waited until he opened his eyes, at first staring through me, then focusing until he noticed I was awake and smiled.

"How are you feeling?" he asked immediately.

My heart swelled at the fact that his first thought was of how I felt, that he would spend the entire night taking my pain into him.

"I feel great! The pain and nausea is gone, the spell's gone; I feel perfect."

He smiles at me and says in a husky voice, "Good, now I can do this."

He leaned forward and very gently brushed his lips over mine before melding them together. I hummed and returned the loving gesture, reaching up to run my fingers through his hair, kissing him passionately. I pulled away to breathe and he continued trailing sweet kisses down my jaw and throat, shifting so that he held himself over me. I sighed and hooked an arm behind his neck and let it hang there lazily and pushed my nose into his collarbone and smiled as he kissed my temple. My head dropped back onto the pillow and I glanced at the clock.

"Holy crap, it's four o' clock in the afternoon, we slept for thirteen hours…" He stopped and looked up curiously.

"Huh, I guess I'm not surprised. The past few days weren't exactly easy for either of us, now were they. I say we deserved a good cat nap."

I rose an eyebrow at him as he smirked down at me, "Cat nap? More like hibernation, I usually don't sleep more than seven or eight hours on a weeknight."

He sighed and rolled over to lay on his back beside me, both staring at the ceiling. We just lay there comfortably in silence for a few minutes before my stomach growled loudly.

He chuckled, "I guess it's time to get up. Breakfast for dinner?"

I nodded eagerly, "Definitely, I always have dinner, no matter what time I get up. On weekends sometimes I'll sleep in 'till two and I still make a bagel and eggs. I can't pass it up, it's my favorite meal of the day."

He laughed, "Then breakfast it is, but showers first; you're quite sweaty from being ill."

I pouted at him before sitting up and walking to the bathroom, "Yeah, alright. I do feel kind of gross." I grabbed my overnight bag on the way and closed the door.

Freshly showered, I headed downstairs with Kol, our hands linked between us. I wore blue jeans, a teal blue summer volleyball league t-shirt, my cowgirl boots because they were the only shoes I had with me, and my hair in a loose bun. Kol wore light jeans, a dark grey long-sleeved shirt, boots, and his hair in its usual messy yet stylish state. We entered the living room and saw Caroline and Elena sipping blood from mugs and watching the TV mounted on the wall above the fireplace from the couch opposite. The Original brothers sat on the couches on both sides of the girls; Elijah reading the newspaper and Klaus watching the news with Caroline and Elena.

I broke the silence and announced our presence by saying, "Wow, this is an oddly normal scene; excluding the fact that you're all vampires."

They all jumped and looked towards us, surprised that they didn't hear us coming. I smiled at them to show them I was okay. When the shock wore off, Caroline squealed as her and Elena flashed over and nearly tackled me to the floor. They squeezed me tight, practically shoving Kol out of their way as he and his brothers laughed.

They bombarded me with questions,

"Oh my gosh!"

"You're up!"

"Are you alright!?"

"How are you feeling!?"

I threw my hands up in the easy there gesture, "Whoa, calm down. I'm perfectly fine, I feel great in fact, which might have to do with the fact that I slept for thirteen hours straight, with Kol no less." Kol grinned and winked at me and I rolled my eyes at him.

Caroline and Elena finally let go of me and relaxed. Elena went to her bag and took out a folder and handed it to me, looking apologetic.

"We went back to school today since you were still asleep when we got up, but the teachers made us give you the work you missed, and you have to have it all done when you get back. Sorry…"

My good mood immediately disappeared and I frowned, opening the folder. I looked through the assignments and decided it wasn't as bad as I expected, just some reading for British Literature, problems for Pre-Calculus, and a note from my music teacher saying that I had to have my music memorized by Friday.

I shrugged my shoulders, "Eh, not too bad," I turned to Kol, "How do you feel about doing nothing the rest of the night while I do homework?" His smirk disappeared at that.

I lifted my eyebrows enticingly, "I'll invite into my house…?"

His wicked grin reappeared and I nearly regretted saying that, "I left my book bag at school actually, so I guess I'll pick it up there then go home."

Caroline interrupted, "Actually it's at your house; we brought your stuff home with us when we went to school today, you didn't miss much in classes anyway."

I blinked, "Oh, well, thanks. I'm going home then, I need to do my homework so I can go to school tomorrow." I looked over at Kol, "You coming?" He smirked and nodded heading for the door. I waved good-bye to Elijah and Klaus and walked with Caroline and Elena to the door where Kol was holding our helmets, like a puppy holding his leash and ready for a walk. I grinned at this and grabbed mine from his hand and lead the way out onto the driveway.

"I'll see you guys tomorrow at school!" I called to the girls as they went over to Caroline's navy Prius, waving good-bye. They got into the car and pulled away, heading to their homes. I was about to put my helmet on when I remembered my overnight bag.

"Crap, I forgot my bag," I muttered and was about to run inside and get it when Kol disappeared and reappeared again with my bag in his hand.

"Can we go now?" he asked eagerly. I giggled at his hurry to get to my house, or maybe it was to ride the motorcycle…maybe both. I tugged my helmet on and so did he, slinging my bag over his shoulder and getting on behind me. The bike roared to life and charged down the asphalt road towards home.

xxx

We arrived at my house after ten minutes of driving, and pulled into the driveway. Kol hopped off my bike and pulled his helmet off. He stood watching me as I walked the bike up the driveway and into the garage before putting both helmets on the seat and closing the door. We walked up the porch steps and I reached for the door.

Before I could even touch the handle the door swung open to reveal a relieved Aunt Lori and Peter. Lori crushed me in a tight hug and rocked me back and forth. I glanced back at Kol to see him smirking and I glared at him. As soon as she let me go of her grip I stepped back and smiled at her. I muttered out of the corner of my mouth, "Not a word, Mikaelson". His smile only widened.

"Oh, Lauren. Are you really okay now?" my Aunt asked eagerly.

I smiled at her in reassurance, "Yes, I'm just fine now. Kol took away some of the pain so it didn't hurt so much and I could sleep, via Bonnie's spell."

Lori looked at him curiously as Peter came up behind her with a suspicious look to Kol. Kol fidgeted as they stared at him, uncomfortable and not used to be doing things to help others. Lori stepped forward and rested a hand on his upper arm, squeezing gently. Kol looked up, surprised.

Lori smiled at him and said, "Thank you, for helping my niece, Kol."

He nodded and smiled back tentatively, "Of course, Ms….?"

She smiled gently at him, "Vales, but you can call me Lori."

"Of course, Lori; I'd do anything for Lauren," he turned and smiled at me and I returned it.

Lori stood up straighter and took a step back into the house, "Well, I think that warrants an invitation into our home. Kol, would you like to come in?"

He smiled warmly at my aunt, "Yes, thank you."

I stepped through the door with him and hugged Pete. He held me tightly and looked over my shoulder at Kol, no longer hostile, and nodded minutely at him. I pulled away and grabbed Kol's hand, dragging him up to my room. I closed the door behind us and plopped down on my bed on my back. Kol dropped my bag on the floor by my bed and sat next to me. I smiled and sat up sighing.

"I need to get my homework done, what do you want to do while you wait?" I asked.

He shrugged, "I don't know, what do you have for me to do?"

I thought for a minute, "Well, I guess you could watch a movie downstairs while I do my homework. What movie?"

I shrugged again, "I wouldn't know, I've never watched a movie before. I was in a box when they invented this stuff…"

I paused and felt sad for a moment, "Oh." I perked up after a few seconds, "Well, I guess there's a first time for everything, and I think that you're going to have a lot of firsts with me."

He turned and gave me a sly grin. My eyes widened, "NO! No, no, no! That's not what I meant and you know it! Wipe that smirk off your face, Mikaelson. I doubt it'd be a first for you anyway…" He continued to grin at me as I went to dig through my backpack for my textbooks and notebooks. I pulled out a small pile of them with my calculator and pencil before heading downstairs with Kol following behind me.

As we came down the stairs Aunt Lori was heading out the door with Peter.

"Hey, where are you guys headed?"

They looked up as we came down, "Just to the grocery store, you want anything?"

I perked up instantly, "Oh! Can you make your chouriço and peppers tonight? It's so good! And just some snacks and stuff for school, maybe some gum? Yeah, I think that's it."

She nodded, "Sure, good idea. I'll see you later." She and Pete waved as they headed out and closed the door behind them. I waved back and headed for the living room and dropped my books on the coffee table before heading to the cabinet below the TV mounted on the wall.

I opened the cupboards and quickly looked through the shelves full of DVDs. I finally pulled one out and closed the doors. I turned the TV on and stuck the disc in the DVD player. I grabbed the remote and dropped it on the couch between us as we sat down. I pulled my Pre-Calc book into my lap, crossing my legs. I grabbed the remote and skipped through the previews to get to the main menu and hit play. The movie began as I started on my math problems.

"So, what are we watching?" he asked curiously. I was surprised he hadn't asked sooner. I reached over to the table and handed him the DVD case.

"It's called Iron Man. It's a super hero movie from Marvel comics. He's one of my favorite superheroes. You have to watch the Avengers movie, it's awesome, but you have to watch all the Marvel superhero movies first."

He scrutinized the cover, "What's it about?" I sighed, "Just watch, I have to do my work."

He grumbled but became silent as the movie opened with US Army Humvees driving down an Afghanistan dirt road with ACDC's Back in Black blaring through the speakers. I glanced at him to see him leaning back into the sofa but watching the screen closely, listening to the characters on screen talk and laugh. He jumped, looking surprised when the front Humvee exploded out of nowhere, triggering chaos. Surprisingly, he flinched when the soldiers were shot as they stepped out, the vehicle getting riddled with bullet holes.

He looked at me, and I glanced at him, he looked surprised.

"Is this how people fight now?" he asked quietly.

I paused the movie and nodded, "Yes, that's how wars between countries are now. What was it like before?"

He shook his head, "Nothing like that. I was daggered in New Orleans in 1914 by Klaus when Mikael had found us, supposedly it was for my protection, but he didn't dagger my siblings, just me. At that time humans waged war with cannons, muskets, pistols, swords. Nothing like this, it's so destructive."

I sighed, "Yeah, weapons technology has come a long way since then, especially during World War II. That's when they really became advanced, people got really creative when it came to killing each other…" I trailed off, remembering all the war films I had seen with Pete, who seemed to like them for some reason, and learning about them in history class. I found it interesting but depressing and awful.

I reached for the remote again, "You can watch movies and read books to learn more about recent history, both World Wars, and all that stuff. It's interesting but also pretty awful, so many people died horribly, especially in WWII."

He looked solemn as he was deep in thought. I pressed play and the movie continued. By the time the movie was over I had finished my Pre-Calc and decided to read later in bed. I got up and went to pull out the disc and put it away.

I turned to him, "Do you want to watch the other Marvel Super hero movies?"

He opened his mouth to answer but the front door opened and Auntie Lori came in with grocery bags in her hands, Pete right behind her.

"Lauren, can you start putting these away? Pete will bring the rest inside," she asked.

"Sure, Auntie Lori," I got up and went to the kitchen and began putting the cold foods away first. Kol trailed behind me and leaned against the counter, watching me work.

I glanced over my shoulder at him as I put ice cream in the freezer, "Do you want to stay for dinner? We can watch the movies after."

He shrugged, "Why not, I've got nothing better to do."

As I finished putting the groceries away Aunt Lori pulled out all the stuff needed to make dinner. Pete headed upstairs to his room as I got the rolls out and cut some of them open for the sandwiches. Lori pulled the red and green peppers out along with the chouriço. I began cutting up the peppers and she started cutting the meat into small chunks. I stopped and pulled Kol over to a counter and set a cutting board and knife with an onion in front of him.

I nudged him, "Just pull the peel off and dice the onion up and put it in the crockpot, that's the dish that Lori is heating over there." He glanced at the heating appliance and shrugged as he began peeling and cutting the onion.

Lori looked over from tossing meat into the dish, "Do you know how to cook?" she asked him.

"Of course. I helped my mother when I was human and I learned how to do so over the years that I wasn't daggered in a box, but it's been a hundred years or so. I don't even know what some of the…appliances that you use to cook are, I'm used to much simpler tools."

I smiled, "Well, I'm not much of a cook, but Lori makes some pretty good food, especially the Portuguese dishes like this one."

He smiled as well, "I've been to Portugal a few times, mainly just traveling through Europe in the late 1700s. They have an extraordinary culture, very festive and family orientated. Amazing food, of course, and lovely music, like the soulful 'fado'."

I listened curiously as I cut the peppers and tossed them into the crockpot. I could tell Lori was doing the same, with a smile on her face.

Lori looked up, "Well, this dish is quite simple, I hope you like it. Where did you go in Portugal, the mainland?"

He nodded, "Yes, mainly Lisbon and a few other major cities."

Lori nodded as well, "My father came from the Azores, the islands off the coast of the mainland; it has its own little differences."

Once we were done cutting up the ingredients and tossing some spices in, Lori stirred the pot and put a cover on it, adjusting the heat.

"This has to sit for a while, so you can just hang out for an hour and a half."

I looked over to Kol and smiled as I grabbed his arm and led him over to the couch and this time I popped in Captain America.

During the movie I explained to him what parts of the movie were realistic of the Second World War and what parts were just part of the story and was science fiction. When it was over Lori called us in for dinner. We all sat down in the living room and I put Thor in next. Kol loved the meal and complimented Aunt Lori on her cooking skills, she thanked him happily. Pete stayed pretty quiet, I assumed that he was tolerating Kol's presence, but seemed to find it funny that Kol didn't know much about modern technology or world history for the past hundred years.

It was about nine o' clock when Aunt Lori went up to bed to get up early for work tomorrow, having to get to her office at the local university early. Pete went to his room at the same time but I could hear him playing on his Xbox for another hour or two. Kol and I ended up watching The Hulk and the Spiderman movies, both with Toby McGuire and Andrew Garfield. He agreed with me that the ones with Andrew Garfield were much better, and he was a better actor. We ended up watching all the Marvel movies that preceded the Avengers movie, finishing late at around one in the morning.

I turned off the TV and yawned, stretching as I sat up from my previous position snuggled up against his side. I stood up and stretched again before gathering up my books and setting them on the bottom steps of the stairs. I walked over to the door with him.

"I guess I'll be going home, I've kept you up late enough. I'll see you tomorrow?" he asked

I sighed, "Maybe not until later, I have school until 2:30pm then I have volleyball practice from 3:45-6:00pm. I've missed a few days of practice so my coach is really going to kick my ass."

He looked thoughtful for a moment before grinning widely, "You'll see me earlier than you think."

I looked at him suspiciously and crossed my arms over my chest, "What are you planning?"

He just continued to grin, "You'll see soon enough."

He then leaned down and kissed my cheek before disappearing out the door. I smiled fondly and closed the door, heading up to bed to get some sleep to face school the next day.

xxx

I woke up to my alarm blaring in my ear. I swung my arm over in the direction of my bedside table and clipped the edge of it and groaned. I felt around before finding the clock and turning the alarm off. I sighed and stretched before relaxing into my bed again, resting for another few minutes. I finally got up before I fell asleep again and dragged myself out of bed.

I was not a morning person.

I quickly showered and blow-dried my hair before returning to my room in a towel. I dressed in a blue sleeveless top that hugged my waist and flared out at the bottom, dark blue jeans, a loose beige shawl, and my cowboy boots. I quickly put on some mascara and cover up to clear up my skin and brushed my hair into a silky copper waterfall. I shoved the correct books in my backpack then put my volleyball gear and ball into my sports bag and headed downstairs.

I trotted down the stairs and headed for the kitchen after dropping my bags by the door. I headed right for the fridge and pulled a bagel out of a bag and shoved it in the toaster. While I waited for it to toast I noticed Pete watching the news in the living room.

"'Morning, where's Auntie Lori?"

Pete glanced over his shoulder at me and replied, "She left like an hour ago for work."

I glanced at the microwave clock, it was 7:30am.

"Wow, they wanted her in pretty early I guess, no wonder she went to bed early."

He just shrugged and went back to his cereal and the morning news. My bagel was done and I quickly slapped some cream cheese on it and munched on it as I headed for the door while Pete rinsed his dish out and put it in the dishwasher for later. I quickly finished my bagel and ran up to brush my teeth before running downstairs with my keys in hand.

I offered them to him, "Do you want to drive or should I?"

He waved me off as he grabbed his backpack and slung it over his shoulder, "Nah, I don't feel like it, you can today."

I shrugged and went out the door. Pete threw his bag into the back seat and got into the passenger side as I locked the front door of the house and got in the driver's seat of the car after throwing my bags in the backseat. I started the car and headed for Mystic Falls High.

We arrived in a few minutes and parked in the student lot. I waved to Caroline, Elena, and Bonnie who were waiting by a picnic table. Pete waved good-bye and headed over to a group of his wrestling team buddies. I walked up to my friends and they all hugged me in turn.

"Hey! You look so much better!" Bonnie exclaimed as she hugged me.

I nodded and smiled at her, "Yup, your spell worked great, Kol kept taking my pain all night so I could sleep."

They all looked wide eyed and glanced at each other at this.

Caroline gaped at me, "Wow, I can't believe he did that all night…"

I shrugged, "I couldn't either; it was so sweet of him."

Elena smiled, "You're really changing him."

I returned it then glanced past them and saw someone very familiar coming from the school doors and heading right for us with a smirk on his face.

I sighed, "Maybe not so much, what's he up to now?"

They all looked confused and I gestured past them to Kol who was approaching us.

He walked up to us dressed in light jeans, a navy blue Henley, and his boots, with a backpack slung over one shoulder.

He opened his mouth to say something undoubtedly obnoxious but I interrupted him.

"Kol, what did you do?" I said as I narrowed my eyes at him.

He continued to smirk, "Darling, why must you think I did something bad? It's actually a good thing." He paused and we all stared at him waiting for him to elaborate.

"I enrolled in high school."

We gaped at him, not sure what to say.

"Why would you do that?" Caroline asked.

He shrugged, "Isn't it obvious? To spend more time with Lauren, I'm in all her classes, well almost all, not the singing one, there's no bloody way I'd do that."

I sighed, "Why? We could just hang out after school?"

He frowned, "You said yourself, we wouldn't be able to until late because of school and volleyball, so this way I can spend more time with you. I thought you'd be happy about this?"

I sighed and thought about it for a few seconds, "Well, I guess it makes sense. Okay, fine, but don't mess up my classes, I'd actually like to graduate high school, got it?"

He grinned, "Got it. Can I walk you to class?"

I smiled as he turned towards the school with a crooked grin.

"Sure, but I have to go to my gym locker first to put my volleyball stuff away." I turned to the girls, "See you guys in class." We waved at each other and I walked across the courtyard with Kol by my side.

As we headed for the doors I noticed that a lot of people were staring at us, especially Kol.

"Well, you're going to be a piece of hot gossip around here, new guy," I remarked.

He just shrugged but I could see the slight smile on his face, "Let them stare, who cares."

I quirked an eyebrow at him playfully, "Oh, and I'm sure it has nothing to do with the fact that you enjoy the attention?"

He grinned at me just as playfully and gave me a nudge, "Nope, nothing at all." He leaned down and gave me a quick kiss on the cheek.

I looked around people were already whispering to each other as they stared at us, some girls were even glaring at me.

I smirked a little at this, "I think some girls are a bit jealous that I've taken the new boy already," I teased him.

He turned to me looking devious, "Well, let's make them a little more jealous…" He leaned down and captured my lips in his own in a smoldering kiss. I sighed as he molded his lips to mine passionately for a little while longer, before pulling away and looking him in the eyes.

I rose an eyebrow, "I think you just made some of those girls hate me."

He laughed and stood up straight, grinning mischievously.

We made it inside despite all the curious looks and jealous glares, and made our way to the gym so I could stuff my sports gear in my locker. I quickly left before any of the girls could question me about the hot new guy they saw me with earlier. I grabbed Kol's hand and lead him to my locker and exchanged some books there. Kol showed me his schedule and I showed him to his locker which was only a few feet down from mine, and showed him how to open the combination lock.

The bell rang for homeroom and I showed him to his which was one wing over from mine because of our different last names.

He stopped outside his room and turned to me, "See you soon, Red," he leaned down and kissed me sweetly.

I smiled widely, "Funny, you know that's actually the nickname my teammates call me in volleyball. See you after homeroom, I'll come here to show you where our classes are. Bye!"

He nodded and headed inside, I saw him show his schedule to the teacher then take a seat before I went to my room. People stared at me as I came in but I ignored all of them, sitting in the front of the room so no one would bother me. Morning announcements came and went and just as a girl was approaching me, no doubt to ask about Kol, the bell rang and I practically ran out of there. I didn't realize that his being there would cause such a disturbance. I should have known though, Stefan caused quite a stir when he showed up, being both new and hot, and Kol was both of those.

I grinned for the tenth time this morning when he walked out and grinned when he saw me coming towards him. Then I noticed someone come out behind him and pat a hand on his shoulder.

"Hey Tyler, I see you've met Kol," I greeted as I walked up to them a little cautiously.

"Yup, he said his family just moved to town," Tyler answered.

I rose an eyebrow at him, "Tyler…you do know who he is don't you?"

He looked at me like I had two heads, "What do you mean, how would I? He's new to town."

I turned to Kol and crossed my arms, "You didn't tell him?"

Kol shrugged, "I thought he knew, he's one of your friends isn't he?"

Tyler just stood there looking confused, "Wait, so you guys know each other?"

I sighed and put my hand to my face before gesturing to Kol, "Tyler, he's a Mikaelson." His stance immediately went defensive and Kol stiffened and shifted closer to me.

"Wait, he's Klaus and Rebekah's brother!? They're back in town!? Why didn't anyone tell me!?" he exclaimed angrily.

I glared at him, "Keep your voice down! Look, I don't know why nobody told you, Caroline, Bonnie, Elena, and Pete were at school yesterday, I thought they were going to fill you in with Alaric and Jeremy."

I sighed, "I don't have time to explain this to you right now; we have to get to class. Just come to our table at lunch and we'll fill you in."

He grunted but walked away without saying anything. I grabbed Kol's hand and led him down the halls to our first period class, World History with Mr. Saltzman. I don't know how it happens, but we always seem to get history together for first period every year. Kol and walked in together hand in hand. I went to my seat next to Elena, in front of Bonnie, and Caroline sat in front of Elena. Stefan sat to Elena's right, and I saved a seat in front of me for Kol. He walked up to Ric and showed him his schedule. He blinked and did a double-take when he read it, must have seen his last name and realized who he was.

He cleared his throat before turning to the class, "Looks like we have a new student, welcome to Kol Mikaelson. Take a seat." Kol went to sit in front of me and Matt on my left gave us all looks like what the hell?

Kristy quickly asked, "Mikaelson? Are you Rebekah's brother?"

Kol nodded, "Yes-"

"Yes, he's my dear brother, Kol," Rebekah strutted in wearing tight black jeans, a white tank top and a gold waist length jacket with black heels. She sat in front of Stefan just as the bell rang for class to start. Alaric started lecturing about the WWII, Matt poked me and gave me a look again. I pulled out my phone and texted him saying that we would tell him at lunch. He glanced at his phone and nodded before turning back to the front. I turned my attention to Kol who seemed absorbed in Ric's lecture. Throughout the rest of the class people whispered and stole glances at Kol, me, and even Rebekah. Ric continued to ignore all this even though he could hear everything with his vampire hearing. (Forgot to mention; in my story Ric doesn't die when Elena does, he's still a vampire but Bonnie freed him from his dark alter ego, he's basically an Original now, like in the show.)

The bell finally rang and I jumped up with my bag and dragged Kol with me out of the classroom before people could stop us and ask questions. He seemed lost in thought as I pulled him through the halls to our next class, British Literature with Ms. Mastriano.

I tugged on his sleeve, "What's on your mind?"

He shrugged, "Just what the hunter was talking about, the world war."

My face twisted in confusion, "Do you mean Ric? You do know he's not a hunter anymore, he was when he was human, but he's a vampire now, kind of like an Original thanks to your mother's spell."

He nodded, "I know. I was just thinking how much the world has changed…and how it hasn't."

I furrowed my brows, "What do you mean?"

"The world has become very technologically advanced, but humans are still the same in nature, as savage as ever when it comes to war, just more inventive. Most humans who know of our existence call us monsters, but throughout history humans are the ones who have demonstrated the most capacity for destruction and death," he stated solemnly.

I nodded slowly, "I guess in a way you're right."

I brought him to the next two periods; Brit Lit with Mastriano, and then I showed him to his computer graphics class then I went to Vocal Ensemble. When the bell rang and we went to Pre-Calc for long period the teacher introduced him again and gave him a textbook before asking him to take a seat. After a half hour we went to lunch and luckily all my friends had the same lunch today. I pulled Kol outside to a picnic table everyone was sitting at: Stefan, Caroline, Elena, Bonnie, Matt, and Tyler.

"Hey guys, Kol's sitting with us for lunch, since apparently you guys didn't tell Matt and Tyler about the Originals returning to Mystic Falls," I looked accusingly at Elena, Stefan, Bonnie, and Caroline.

Caroline shrugged innocently, "Well, we didn't want to say anything until you came back, we just didn't realize that he would follow you to school, and we were hoping Rebekah wouldn't come back either." She glanced at Kol and he shrugged at that.

I sighed, "Well, I guess we owe you an explanation about everything that's going on," I turned to the rest of them, "Did you at least fill Jeremy and Ric in on what's going on? Cause Ric looked pretty surprised to see him and Rebekah."

Stefan nodded, "Yeah, we talked to them. I think we should have them sign the treaty as well once it's all explained, otherwise there's no point in having it if we're going to fight anyway."

Elena nodded with him, "Yes, that makes sense, there's no point in it if we don't ALL agree to it."

Tyler interrupted, "Okay, just what the hell are you guys talking about? What treaty?"

I nodded to Caroline and Bonnie, "You guys want to start it off?" They nodded and began telling them about how we were in school when Damon called me, and I pulled out a brown paper bag with my lunch in it. Kol looked over out of boredom and curiosity. I pulled out two halves of a sandwich, a protein bar, and a juice pouch.

As Bonnie was talking she pulled out her lunch, and Caroline, Elena, and Stefan pulled out bottles and I could smell that they were filled with blood. Kol must have smelled it too and turned his head to look before returning back to staring off into space and not listening to anybody.

I nudged him, "I don't have any blood, but you can have half of my sandwich," I held up the offering. He smiled and took it from me, pecking my cheek sweetly before unwrapping it and taking a bite. Matt and Tyler noticed this and gawked, no longer paying attention to Caroline who was on the part where she was running to me at the mansion, looking peeved that they were no longer paying attention to her.

I looked up innocently and smiled as I chewed my sandwich with Kol next to me doing the same. No smile Kol gave ever looked innocent, more like devious. Matt just looked shocked while Tyler looked furious.

I rolled my eyes, "Tyler, calm down, it's already been settled. I'm with Kol, so get over it."

"But-I-He's Klaus' brother!" he said fuming.

Matt looked thoughtful, "So it's true? You're together? I heard people talking this morning about how they saw you holding hands with the new guy and kissing him but I thought they were just rumors."

Kol shook his head, answering for me, "Nope, the real deal, and I can kiss her all I want." He emphasized the last three words and leaned over and kissed my cheek with a cheesy sound effect. I scrunched my nose and giggled, letting him. I saw Caroline, Stefan, and Elena smiled lightly while Bonnie and Matt looked awkward and Tyler looked away angrily.

I sighed and turned back, "Look, Tyler, you would understand if you would just let them finish the damn story. We actually don't have time cause the bell's gonna ring any minute. You can just come to the Mikaelson mansion tonight, you're going to have to anyway to sign the treaty, same for you, Matt, and Alaric and Jeremy."

I was right, we quickly finished our lunches and the bell rang a minute later. I packed up and Kol and I walked back to class. After long period we had gym class. I came out of the locker room with Caroline and Elena, talking with my brother and some other juniors and seniors was a very hot Kol. Who knew he would look so good in just basketball shorts, a t-shirt with the sleeves ripped off and the holes stretched wide to expose his ribs, and sneakers.

I grinned and gave him a once over as I approached, admiring lean yet well-muscled body; broad shoulders and defined arms, and no doubt killer abs under his thin shirt. I sauntered over in my short-shorts, long-sleeved tee, and sneakers, and my hair in a braided high ponytail.

He grinned as he saw me, "Well don't you look delightful, Red," he looked me over as well. The guys around him were smiling and also appreciating the view that wasn't intended for them. Kol noticed I was frowning over his shoulder, and turned to glance at his new friends with a territorial look. They noticed and coughed, straightening up and wandering away to leave us alone.

He turned back to me with a smile, "So, what exactly are we doing in this obviously enlightening class?"

I smiled at his cheekiness, "We normally run a few laps around the gym, stretch, then go to our designated station with our class to play whatever game we have, and today we are playing my favorite game."

He rose an eyebrow, "And what, pray tell, is that?"

I smirked at him and turned to start running with the group and called over my shoulder.

"Volleyball."
