Chapter 12: The Deal

"Ugh! That stupid blonde!" Sting Eucliffe grumbled as he made his way towards the living room of his house. The maids bowed to him in a welcoming manner but then looked shocked at the hulking red stain across his shirt. It looked like he's been shot. They all gasped.

"Oh no! Young master! Is that blood?!"

"Did you get involved in a fight again, Young Master?!"

"Young Master, quick! you must be brought to the hospital first!"

"Young Mas—"

"Would you all just shut up?!" Sting finally snapped at them, annoyed at their over-reaction.

"But—"

"Fuck off you good for nothing slaves! Leave me alone!" He yelled, full force.

The maids, knowing their place and so very much aware of his rotten mood now, ran away while comically crying off. Sting just sighed.

"What happened this time?" His cousin, Rogue Cheney murmured while drinking tea and sitting leisurely at a sofa on the corner of the room. He was looking straight at something across the room.

Sting was surprised at the unexpected presence of him.

"What the hell are you doing here?!"

"Drinking tea, as you can see." He answered sarcastically.

A vein popped out of the blonde's head, his cousin is brusque as always.

"Of course I know, you moron! What I meant was; why are you here?!"

"You didn't make it clear first hand, well.. I was just bored in my house."

"So, you find my house entertaining then?" The blonde reprimanded.

"Pretty much. Apparently, it's much more lively here since there are people."

Rogue then let his eyes linger on the blonde and saw the striking red stain on his shirt. He let down his cup. "Oh. What's that?" he didn't look worried at all.

Sting was reminded of his current wet situation again and began unbuttoning his white shirt, his defined pectorals and six-packs showing. "It's watermelon shake, the stupid blonde spilled it all over me." He threw the shirt somewhere and jumped into the sofa in front of the black-haired boy with his arm outstretched.

Rogue just gave a light chuckle. "I see..." He nodded his head. "Do enlighten me with it."

Sting gave him a death glare. "Does it look like I'm in the mood to do story telling right now?"

"But I'm interested, come on, tell me.." Rogue pressed.

Sting growled but hesitantly did so.

"I was at the cafeteria,"

-Flashback-

It was a few days ago since Lucy made that commotion with him. Everyone was shell-shocked and it became the talk of everyone in school. Even the teachers were amazed by Lucy's capabilities.

And ever since then, Sting had made it clear to himself that she is apparently no ordinary girl, she is capable of beating the hell out of him and what happened days ago deeply wounded his once sky-scraping pride (not that it is not that high anymore). It wasn't because he was in many ways, scared of her, in fact it was the complete opposite. He just wanted to avoid her at all costs. That was his plan. But alas, it seems like the odds were against him.

This afternoon, he randomly wanted to buy some cafeteria-only drinks. Rogue has gone "home" already, saying that he has something important to do that's why Sting is all by himself right now.

Being the arrogant that he is, he walked in a steady pace while looking up. Then very suddenly, he felt something really cold on his chest and somewhat a small body bumping on it.

He looked down slightly only to see Lucy Heartfilia gasping and with wide teary eyes. "M-my shake..."

It took a moment for him to register what just happened and it seemed the feeling of the biting coldness on his chest awoke his senses.

The shake had spilled all over his expensive designer white shirt! Oh, would you look at that.

"Wha-what the heck?!" Sting growled.

"My shake! Look what you did to my watermelon shake!" Lucy spat at him, totally not giving a crap about the mess on his shirt.

"And look what you did to my shirt! This is new! What the fuck!" He retorted.

"Stop cursing, jerk! This is all your fault! If you had been watching where you were going, this wouldn't have happened!"

"Woah?! So I'm at fault here? Can't I say the same thing to you, blondie?!"

"Of course you can't! What's up with walking with your head up anyway? Are you sightseeing or something?" Mirajane and Levi had noticed this and went beside Lucy, wondering what was it again. Both of the blonde's friends were trying to calm her down.

"Shut up, blondie! Take a good look this..filthy splotch! Ugh! Do you know how much this shirt is? Can you even pay for it, huh? You pauper!" He shouted emphasizing the said stain to her face, good thing it was late in the afternoon already and not many students were around. He couldn't take it anymore, he swore his blood was boiling and is comparable to the temperature of the sun at this moment.

His insolent remark did not faze her in the least. "You're rich right? I'm pretty sure you can afford laundry service, what's all that money for? Use your brain sometimes, kay?" She mocked but she wasn't done yet. "Or maybe you're too busy lying down in all that cash, basking in all it's glory that your brain has gone rotten and have malfunctioned already?" She placed of her hands on her hip while raising a brow.

That blasphemy again.

Mirajane and Levi were restraining their laughs.

Sting is exasperated, but he couldn't do anything, not now that (as much as he hate it) he knew he's no match for her for now, at least. He hadn't recovered from the previous fight yet wherein he was shamefully pummelled down by that blondie.

He took a deep breath and decided it will be better to just go home, there's nothing he can do about this girl.

He walked forward and swatted the three girls to the side as if they were flies. "Outta my way." Of course, with a little "Hey!" from Lucy. And he continued to the exit doors of the cafeteria.

He had his teeth gritted as he went out though.

-End of flashback-

Rogue can't help but chuckle at what his cousin told him. It was out of character for him to be laughing like that, but the events prior were just so hilarious. That was the third time already this week. He mentally counted.

"There's nothing to laugh about, you freak." Sting rolled his eyes.

"I've noticed, that cafeteria is transforming into a battlefield now, huh? A lot fight scenes have occurred there already," Rogue chuckled. "But the most prominent one of course, was when your fellow blondie planted your face on the floor." He continued and laughed again.

"You're enjoying this aren't you?" Sting was used to all this teasing from his black-haired cousin already, being with him long enough since they were children. He has grown immune to it. Others might think he's the silent type, but there is more than what meets the eye. He looks aloof and almost nonchalant about everything, but deep down that impassive façade is a trickster of a heart shrouded in meager animosity towards others. He had been through a lot after all. But he guessed bringing it up now isn't a good idea.

"Yes, quite." Rogue smirked. Then he remembered something. "It wasn't just in the cafeteria, right? There were also the library and rooftop incidence." He leaned back and shot Sting a knowing look.

"Please don't remind me of it."

"Oh yeah? But I want to," he paused. "Do you remember when we were at the library..."

Sting started covering his ears.

-Flashback-

Sting and Rogue were chilling out at the library. The fangirls were there too of course, trying to flirt with them but to no avail. A few tables away from them was—unbeknownst to them—Lucy Heartfilia.

She was reading something and can't seem to concentrate because of the noises the troublesome duo are causing, along with the annoying squeals from their fangirls.

The two guys or more precisely Sting, was being too loud.

"Hey, Rogue wanna go horseback riding this Saturday?" He asked cockily. His cousin just nodded at him in response.

Sting stretched his arms and yawned as if he just woke up. "It's so quiet here, how about we lighten up the mood a bit?" he said. Rogue smirked.

Sting craned his neck to the side and spotted a girl with glasses solemnly reading something on the desk just beside him. He noticed that she was quivering too and seemingly sneaking secret glances at them. An idea popped out on his mind.

He walked towards her and once he reached her desk he gruffly sat on top of it, a few centimetres beside her, making her flinch in shock. "Hey girl," he winked at her shivering form.

The glasses girl slowly looked up at him. "Uhh.. Eucliffe-san, D-do you need something from me?" She asked in a low voice that was almost inaudible but because of Sting's close proximity, he was able to hear it.

Sting leaned in close, too close for her liking. "What are you doing just reading something as boring as this. You should go out there and have some fun." He said in an obvious flirtatious tone. The girl was sweating hard already. Sting leaned in more until he can feel her breath.

"How about...you try it with me?"

"E-eh?!" The girl was too shocked to answer.

Sting sneakily held her hands and shot her a one of his charming smiles. "Don't worry, we'll have lots of— " Before he could continue what he was about to say though, a very thick book came out of nowhere and hit him straight in the head, the force strong enough to make him tumble off the table. He fell face-first on the floor.

The impact was so loud it alarmed everyone in the room. The students who just happened to pass by and those who were quietly reading on the sidelines stood up and had the same confused expressions as Rogue and the girls. "Wha-what..." The girl with glasses was just as perplexed.

"Sting-sama!" The fangirls screeched at the blonde on the floor.

The said male slowly propped his elbows up for support, rubbing his now sore nose. It landed flat on the ground after all and it hurts like hell.

Silent footsteps were heard and the owner of it was the renowned Disciplinary Officer, Lucy Heartfilia.

She stopped just a meter from Sting and pointed an accusing finger at him. "YOU!"

"Aren't you aware that libraries are supposed to be quiet places?" She shouted at him. "Is that sign not clear to you? Or perhaps you really can't read it properly?" The female blonde pointed proceeded to point at the huge 'Keep Silence' sign just above them. "This place is nowhere near a Host Club room too, so if you so ever want to use those disgusting..charms of yours to lull other girls, do it somewhere else!"

Sting just remained lying down the floor with fuming expression. Rogue hid the growing smirk on his features. Here she goes again.

"And you girls!" Lucy directed her attention at the fangirls. "You're all from class 2-D aren't you? According to Erza, Japanese History should be starting now." The girls momentarily gazed at her, slightly scared. Lucy shifted her body to the side a bit and emphasized the logo band of SC Disciplinary Officer on her arm.

"As a member of the SC Disciplinary officer, I order you all to go back to your classrooms!" She commanded with a whopping sense of authority.

The girls obediently complied and immediately made their way out.

"You there, bastard, get up. Classes will start for us too." Lucy said, preparing to leave as well. It is unusual that the jerk went without a fight but the female officer thought it was much better and maybe the book must have hit him pretty bad to even talk back to her. She stealthily glanced at Rogue and it made her surreptitiously blushed. She cleared her throat before speaking, "Uhh.. Rogue...-san, please help him i-if you may." She walked unusually fast after that, trying to avoid the black-haired male's stare.

"Heartfilia-san, Th-thank you.." The girl with glasses expressed her gratitude meekly. Lucy stopped in her tracks and smiled sweetly at her in return. "No problem, just call me if there are problems, okay?" The quiet girl nodded happily in response as Lucy finally left.

-End of Flashback-

Rogue didn't try to suppress his snicker at the recollection. His cousin on the other hand, kept an annoyed look.

"I also remembered when she directly attacked us at the rooftop because we skip classes. I wouldn't have thought she'd go through the window with the doors locked, that was very surprising. She really beat the hell out of you that time afterwards, don't you think?" This time Rogue really laughed.

"Shut it," Sting threw a pillow at him, aiming at his face but the latter caught it perfectly, hugging it now to his chest. "Please refrain from reminding me of those already." He further leaned his head on the sofa.

Sting let out a very heavy breath and stated in all honesty, "I wonder how I could get that girl out of my business. I mean, I'm not as free as before thanks to that stupid blonde. And I bet the SC freaks are rejoicing on the sidelines."

"That's true. Although you still cause troubles from time to time." Rogue said but mentally cheered that this was all interesting, and he sincerely didn't want all of this to cease yet. As evil as that can be..

"Of course, I wouldn't stop! If I do, it'll look like I'm doing them favour to which I refuse to grant them. Ever."

Rogue shook his head at his cousin's scornfulness. It's his nature huh.

"If only the mighty DO could fall for your charisma, then it will be all alright. But unfortunately, I doubt he has someone she sets her eyes on with that haughty personality of hers." Rogue didn't know how wrong he was at that time.

The blonde momentarily stayed quiet and seemed to be thinking of something.

After a minute or so however, very slowly, a tug on his mouth appeared and an evil smile crept its way to his face.

Oh no, Rogue thought. I know that look.

"Rogue, I have just thought of a brilliant idea to stop the blondie." He had a pompous look and a dangerous glint on his eye.

After school at the Student Council room...

"Okay, good job Lucy on reducing the duo's troubles, we owe you a lot." Erza announced with an amenable tone. Everyone in the room agreed and cheered for her. The blonde on the other hand felt flustered and flattered at the same time.

"Way to slow them down, Lu-chan!" Levy winked at her blonde friend.

"B-but still, we haven't completely stopped them yet, so there's really no need to thank me, you know.." Lucy muttered while twiddling her fingers.

"That is right, but at least we keep them in the leash for now. We'll think up on something sooner or later." Erza encouraged, to which all the members agreed as well.

Lucy is very happy everything is going well for her. She made a lot of reliable friends and now fully resolved, she thought that studying in this school isn't so ba—

The doors of the SC room suddenly opened widely with an almost deafening bang.

or not.

The perpetrator is none other than Sting Eucliffe together with his cousin Rogue Cheney. He had that smug stricken expression on his feature. "Hey guys," he grinned.

The SC members, especially Erza and Lucy were both alarmed at their sudden appearance. They all shot the two a crude look.

"Hey, hey, why the face? Shouldn't the highly reputable Student Council be more hospitable than that?" Sting entered the room without really caring he's not allowed to.

"What the hell are you two doing here?!" Erza was first to react.

"Relax, Ms. President. I'm not here to fight. In fact, I'm here to make peace" Sting explained with the same smug look.

"He's right. Please hear us out before you jump into conclusions." Rogue added.

"I have a proposition to all of you SC members." Sting took the liberty of starting his scheme.

"Proposition..?" Erza wondered. The others in the room decided to listen to him hesitantly.

Lucy kept her glare at the blonde. What does he want now? What peace? That's unlikely.

"So, I thought you guys might be getting tired of what's happening everyday. Troubles, here and there. You know, being responsible of everything and all, I guess it's only a matter of time for me to stop." Sting explained.

Stop, he says? Lucy was wary of this blonde's venture. She knows better than to totally believe him. There must be something under all this. She knew and she bet Erza and the others also does, that he is plotting something.

"I believe you cannot just proceed into that action without a corresponding condition on mind. What do you want in return? Spit it." Erza dared him.

The redhead seems to be acting cautious but whatever it is that he has on mind, she might as well give in. This is a rare opportunity. For her, it looks like the duo is forfeiting in this long war and is finally submitting to them. She won't let this chance slip. But when all is said and done, it still must depend on his term.

"Who says I don't have a condition? Nothing is free in this world now you see, even the—"

"Stop beating around the bush and get down to business already." Sting was abruptly cut-off by the bluenette vice president.

Now on normal circumstances, the turbulent blonde would have punched him in the face but this particular instance is too different and special, in a way.

Rogue and Sting smirked before the male blonde proceeded, "I'll get straight to the point. I'll completely stop in exchange for a kiss from your beautiful Disciplinary Officer."

A moment of silence...

Jellal was first to recover, "B-by Disciplinary Officer, you don't mean from Lucy, right?"

"I mean Lucy. A. Kiss. from. Lucy." Sting stated slowly and venomously, at least for Lucy.

"WHA-WHAT?!" The aforementioned female blonde who was silent a few moments ago cried.

"Here's the deal, everyday when we happen to meet up, she'll have to give me a quick peck on the cheek. I'll keep my promise and be obedient for the day. But once yshe fails to comply, the opposite will happen. And I'm telling you it'll be a more miserable experience for all of you guys. However, just imagine the workload that you'll all be free of when I stay disciplined. Now, do you want to turn down peace itself? I would even gladly wear the standard school uniform."

"The same goes for me too." Rogue added in delight.

"Wa-wait a seco—" Lucy was cut off.

"Then if she ever..unintentionally miss a chance, she'll have to repent by kissing me on the lips the next day."

Lucy felt all the hairs on her body raise and she unconsciously cringed in fear and disgust at the same time.

"Do you really think I would agree to that?!"

"What? My deal isn't so bad, every single girl on earth prays to be given this kind of chance."

How cocky. "Don't get too full of yourself! I refuse to land my lips on a fiend like you! You won't agree to this, right guys?"

The conceding response that Lucy expected didn't come. The others were strangely quiet.

"Uhh.. Actually, Lucy..." Erza uncharacteristically played with her fingers and had that desperate-looking 'puppy-eyes' and a small smile.

It was only a few seconds till the other members of the SC did what Erza was doing and the same expression was on their faces too while looking at her.

"Heh," Sting smirked... diabolically. I win. He thought.

"It seems the others say otherwise."

Lucy could not believe it. She just let out a loud cry.

"E-EHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH?!"

tbc.

FIRST AND FOREMOST. LET ME APOLOGIZE FOR THE MEGA LATE UPDATE; I. AM. SORRY. VERY, VERY. SORRY.

So, I know, my writing style isn't that good and hasn't improved at all and lots of people don't really like it but if you're asking why I even bothered updating, it is because there are still people requesting of it. This chapter is for them. In all honesty, I had a half-mind of just abandoning this one but because some are still reviewing and the favorites and follows are still increasing, I decided not to.

Trust me, I know how it feels like when the author of the story you like gives up on updating. So yeah. For the sake of the waiting people I did this (although again, I'm sorry for it being so late) Same reason: I'm busy. and aside from the fact that I have almost given up on this, I got COLLEGE to prepare for. So you know that, college life is harder. (Goodluck to meh!)

Okay. I'm done. Kaythnksbai :3

REVIEW! Constructive criticisms are welcome and greatly appreciated. BUT flames are ignored.
