On Wednesday morning, Sam was laying in bed, watching as her alarm slowly counted down. She hadn't slept well the night before. The memory of Vic being sick at lunch the previous day kept playing over and over in her head like a bad movie.

She knew why it happened. Although she had skipped out on the rest of the school day, Vic had appeared to walk Sam home after poetry club. Her eyes were a light lilac now with no trace of the darkness Sam had witnessed hours earlier. Vic had explained that a she'd over worked herself with the spell she'd used to cover up Danny's dramatic exit and that she was sorry for frightening Sam.

"You didn't frighten me!" Sam had immediately squeaked but one glanced from Vic and she looked away.

"It's alright, Samantha. I've been on the opposite side of fangs." Vic reached to touch Sam's arm but the human had cringed involuntarily. She immediately went to apologize but Vic had waved her off, stuck her hands in her pockets and they walked in silence for the entire trip.

When Sam got home she'd called Tucker to make sure he was okay and then spent the night laying in her bed waiting for morning.

She'd already decided that she wasn't going to avoid Vic. She was dangerous but not a maniac. What she had been worrying about was Danny and Vic. She wanted both of them in her life but she didn't know how to get the two of them to be in the same vicinity without more injuries. Vic could have really hurt herself and Sam would be none the wiser and Danny was an accident waiting to happen. If the two of them fought...Sam was fairly sure Vic would rip her childhood friend to pieces.

When the time came to head off to school Sam opened up her front door and immediately her eyes found Vic sitting on her stoop across the street with her elbows on her knees and watching Sam as she locked the door. For a couple of seconds they stood on opposite sides of the street just looking at one another. It took a couple of seconds but Sam realized that Vic was waiting to see how Sam wanted to handle the situation. She knew that is she chose to walk on down the street, Vic would have no hard feelings. Or at least, she wouldn't hold them against the goth girl.

"Come on!" Sam waved. "Come carry my stuff!"

Vic didn't even try to hide the huge smile that took over her face. She appeared on the step below Sam and took her book-bag from her and they walked to school together. The whole time Sam was determined to make sure that she figured out how to make her group workout.

The day went over like normal. Vic ignored Danny and Danny pretended like he was capable of ignoring Vic and at the end of the day Sam felt she was ready to share her slightly ingenious idea.

They were walking through the park when Sam realized that Vic had stopped walking a couple yards back. "I'm sorry, what did I miss?"

Vic chuckled and sauntered up and flicked Sam gently in the nose. "I was telling you the story of how I died."

Sam's eyes went wide. "Really?!"

"No! I was asking about an ice cream shop." She reached slowly to move a strand of hair out of hair out of Sam's face and Sam was very careful not to flinch. Vic smiled. "Your comfort level is very convincing." She took a step back. "What are you scheming?"

"Who says I'm scheming?"

"That wrinkle in your nose that I've never seen before. Plus, your panicked response. Are you going to answer my question?"

Sam took a deep breath. "I wanted you to come ghost hunting with us tomorrow." Sam waited but Vic only stared. "See, I was thinking about how you and Danny don't really get along and I want you two to be friends! So, I was hoping if I could get you to work on the same team some kind of normalcy would come into play. Not that I'm saying you guys are freaks or anything but your both other wordly and that could be part of the issue. If you work together it could be like a team building exercise and I was hoping it would get Danny to be less abrasive and give you a chance to show the guys who you really are-"

"Samantha, you don;t even know who I really am."

"But I do know!"

"No, you really don't." Vic said in that tone that meant end of discussion. She ran both hands through her hair and looked up and the sky. Sam looked up to but there was nothing to see.

"I get why you want to try this and I find your nervous babbling adorable," Sam looked down again but Vic had closed her eyes and seemed to be focusing on the feeling of the sun on her face. "However, I don;t know how well this will actually blow over. Your boy has a lot of rage in him and I-" Vic smiled. "Well, I've got a lot of bite in me."

Sam laughed but it was out of nervousness brought on by the memory of Vic's fangs glistening inches from Sam's very fragile wrist.

"If things get out of hand with no one around to check us on our behavior..."

Sam threw up her hands. "No! Don't think like that. Tucker and I will be there to keep things level-"

"Like you did yesterday?" Vic sighed. "Look, I'll do it but there's something you should understand first."

"Okay..." Sam had the sudden urge to back away a few steps but she didn't. She held her ground and watched Vic lower her arms to her sides and open her eyes. They held eye contact for a few long seconds and the hair on the back of Sam's neck stood in that familiar way that she would never be used to. "I AM a killer, Samantha." Vic said in a voice that could just barely be heard over the wind. "I have taken lives before but in self defense. If I feel like my safety is in danger I can easily destroy your little friend and there's nothing you could do that would stop me."

"Danny's stronger than you think."

"And I'm more deadly than you will hopefully ever know." Vic took a deep breath. "If you can guarantee you and Tucker will be safe and Danny would quit if his life were in danger...Then I will agree to go with the three of you tomorrow." She held Sam's eyes with her own. "Can you do that? Can you promise me that if it comes to a fight the Ghost Boy won't push me? I can only hold back so much of what I am."

Sam thought about it. Danny wasn't a coward but he wasn't a full blown idiot either. Then again, he had been changing a lot in the past month alone. Was she sure? Would Danny recognize when he had been beat and back down? She wasn't entirely sire, but she wasn't afraid either. She squared her shoulders stared back and said with all her confidence. "If It comes down to it, Tucker and I can stop Danny."

Vic clapped her hands together. "Fine. Then if you get him to agree, I'll go with you. Partly because I want you to see how cool I can be." She smiled and spun on her heels to head for Sam's house.

"Whats the other part?" Sam called as she jogged to catch up. Vic threw her a sad smile.

"It's not fun moving around as much as I do. I'd like to have another super natural as a friend. Even if he does forever hate me for stealing his girl."

"I am not Danny's girl OR yours."

Vic shrugged. "Not yet, but you're defiantly on your way."
