"I hate to interrupt whatever that is, but we're here" Tony was right. They had pulled into the garage, and had nothing to do but enter.
"Of course," Petra agreed. She and Bruce quickly fallowed Tony as he lead them to the penthouse.
"What do you think?" Tony asked, showing the common rooms off to Petra. Bruce had already seen them, and was focusing instead on the changes.
"Those used to be higher" Bruce stated, looking at the doorways.
"Yeah, Director Fury wanted some extra anti-Hulk measures installed to prevent the Hulk from tearing up the nearby buildings, even though he was fairly impressed by the limitations of the collateral damage last time. So, the doorways are lower, the outside walls are a little thicker to slow down any escape attempts, your bed has been switched with a sturdier model, and the Hulk is not allowed in any laboratories at all for any reason" Tony explained carelessly. Hopefully, any blowout that he got for the security measures would be limited by the drop of Fury's name. It almost worked.
"Really, the bed got an upgrade?" Petra asked, and both of the Starks in the room watched in amusement as Bruce caught on to that fact and started blushing. Still, Petra continued, "I highly doubt that the Director would care about the state of Bruce's bed, unless there is something that shouldn't be going on happening. I am going to forget the more disturbing possibility entirely and strait out assume that it was a very thoughtful preemptive gift for me, and thank you" Petra than glossed over the implications of her last sentence and the fact that both men were now blushing to continue. "Are there any more house rules that you want to tell us, or are you planning on trying to implicate us later?"
Tony tried to forget that his daughter had just thanked him for the sturdy bed in the room where she would be staying with her boyfriend and focused on her last statement. "Why, you are certainly a Stark, my dear, picking up on that conspiracy before you got caught. If Hulk starts trying to escape the building, you are required to tell JARVIS, because he won't know the difference between a game, conversation, or nightmare accurately enough to contain the Hulk without harassing him over something harmless. Walking on the ceiling…" he paused to look at Petra's disappointed pout" …is only permitted where there is tile. I don't mean the ceiling tile either. If the ceilings don't have this" He pointed to the ceiling and let Bruce and Petra note the type "Type of tile, same color, same model, same everything: then you are not aloud to walk on them. Otherwise, do whatever you want on them" he casually told the two.
It was kind of funny to watch them, actually. Bruce was still blushing from the earlier allusions, but was now looking at the ceiling tiles speculatively with a strange glint in his eyes. Petra, on the other hand, was near jumping for joy at the thought of being allowed on the ceiling. With a sudden flip and jump movement, she was crouched on the ceiling, handing upside-down by her feet and hands. She rocked a little, getting a feel for the new surface and laughed at the feeling of her hair falling away from her face. She quickly switched positions and was crawling in an upside-down crabwalk and scurrying around the place, exclaiming over everything that she saw. "You, my dear, are simply adorable" Tony told Petra in a firm tone. Bruce nodded, agreeing, with the silliest smile on his face, spirits lifted just by the sight of his girl so happy. Tony had changed his mind. Anyone that stupidly in love was cute to.
Tony rethought his opinion on the two of them. Sure, it was a little scary to see the Hulk so easily awakened in that containment cell, the protection he was now quick to offer did seem live a grand investment. Certainly, he would much rather have meet his daughter as a child and watched her grow up, but he hadn't been in any state to care for anyone then, he wasn't even sure if he could provide consistent stability too someone now! As it was, he started to notice that without Bruce, Spiderman could easily have left and not come back. In her own words, someone raised the way she had would never have considered meeting him on her own. He decided to be grateful for the small blessings in life, and be happy that her relationship kept her within his reach. His words in the car had been true. Tony really didn't have a problem with their relationship, not for as long as it stayed this sweet.
