Hello my lovely readers! In true christmas-spirit I have a little gift for you guys, kind of an easter egg (haha, so very appropriate) to this story, in case you haven't figured it out already! If you search the internet for one of my chapter-titles, or even the name of the story, you will find one of the songs that inspired me to write that specific chapter! Hope you like this, and please review!
There were a couple of long and dramatic breaths, coming from the elder of the three, he had been quiet for what had seemed like an eternity. And to him, it had. He had been going over all the facts, over and over again in his head. What these boys had done, what the generations before them had done, and why it had pushed them in this direction. A couple of them were quite obvious. Scorpius was just like his father. Of course Teddy was just making assumptions about what Draco had been like at Hogwarts, given what Harry had told him. Teddy had met the elder Malfoy before, when he was training to be an auror alongside Harry and Draco, a carrier Teddy had quickly let go of after the attack, no matter how good he would have been at it.
Regarding Thom Avery, Teddy knew very well what had happened to his father. Just like Scorpius just said, his father had received the dementor's kiss, but it wasn't during either of the wizarding wars. It was about 16 years after the second war, and Teddy was the main reason the deatheater had been caught. What he didn't understand was why his son was so eager to follow in his father's footsteps, and why Scorpius had done the same, seeing that Draco had gone so far away from the dark side now.
"You do realize I'm going to have to write to your parents? And the headmaster as well, when they are all here we will decide what is best for the both of you," the professor said, sounding very much his part, though very little like the brother Lily had known for sixteen years.
"Teddy you can't! You promised!" the girl exclaimed, suddenly sounding like a child in protest again, perhaps she had yet to grow out of that part. She had been forced to grow up too quickly, face the worst things in life too yearly, yet she had refused to take on the part of an adult still, at sixteen.
"I'm well aware of what I promised, Lily. Now you stay here until they show up, and I promise I won't go to the ministry with this, with the exception of both of your fathers. They will work this out," Teddy spoke, still unsure of himself. Perhaps it wasn't the best solution, but he knew that this was out of his hands. He could not take on something so big, so serious, all by himself. Besides from that, Lily was not of age, and he couldn't keep this from Harry and Ginny, they would never forgive him for it.
The three sat quiet for some time, Teddy at the desk carefully writing down the events in parchment which he later sent with two of the school owls. Lily and Scorpius sat on the bed, holding hands, both terrified of their parents, with all the information, all in the same room. It was quite a terrifying thought. As far as Lily knew, her father wasn't very fond of any of the Malfoys, which was also the reason that her brothers, and herself for quite some time, had made some quick assumptions about his family.
The first to show up was of course Draco Malfoy, with Astoria not far behind him, appearing from the fireplace. Lily hadn't expected her parents to come immediately, no matter how over-protective they were. It was just a constant feeling she could never let go, that her parents would never care enough about her.
The elder Malfoy looked so very much like Scorpius, though his silver-blonde hair had taken a greyish shade, he was not quite as tall as his son, and his eyes were more weary. Also, he was infuriated as he entered the room, grabbed Scorpius by the collar and pulled him to his feet.
"You stupid, ungrateful boy," he hissed, pulling his wand out and pointing it at the younger's throat.
"After everything I've done for this family, to clear our name. You are no son of mine, you might as well rot in Azk.."
The girl, who was so well known for interrupting powerful men, or perhaps all people in general, stepped in between the two tall men, when nobody else seemed willing to.
"Step away from him," she said determinedly, eyes set on the angry pair of grey ones, which reminded her too much of the boy standing behind her.
"Don't do something you will regret," she continued, staring down the older Malfoy, until he lowered his wand slightly and took a step back, quite perfectly timed with the Potters arriving by floo. Lily knew quite immediately that this was going to make a mess, which wouldn't be resolved in some time.
"Malfoy. Is that your wand I see aimed at my sixteen year old daughter?" Harry greeted his college stiffly, with a clenched jaw. After everything he had found out that night, Lily had expected no less than the hard-set auror, who also happened to be 'the chosen one'.
"Certainly not, Potter," the blonde replied, taking yet another step away from the young couple, which he had never expected. They were so unexpected, yet so obvious. Complete opposites. Draco found himself wondering why she, the young girl who had been through so much, would stand up and protect his scumbag of a son.
"Lily, come here honey, we are leaving," she heard her mother. Ginny was normally rather quiet, however, when there was an overload of emotions, she would get real loud, silencing even Harry in her rage. Lily was quite happy it hadn't gotten that far yet, since that was not a sight she was fond of.
"I am not going anywhere without Scorpius," the girl replied firmly, grabbing the quiet young man's hand, and after that, hell broke loose. The two families were telling each other off, yelling at the same time, causing complete chaos with too many words to possibly catch them all.
"He is a deatheater for Merlin' sake!" ; "That is not fair," ; "You should know she doesn't want to go back there" ; "The apple doesn't fall far from the tree," ; "Don't you dare talk that way about my husband!" ; "Stay away from my daughter!"
It all ended with a strong "QUIEEEEEET!" so loud, that you might think Dumbledore had crawled out of his grave to stop the arguments.
The headmaster had arrived, finally, and as McGonagall raised her voice, all others went quiet. The influence that witch had on the seven others was truly remarkable. However, it wasn't very surprising. She had taught all of them, at different times, and although being quite a small, very old lady, they all respected her very much for the things she had taught them. And it seemed she wasn't done with it, Lily suspected a huge lesson coming from the witch very soon.
If you liked this chapter, and the other ones for that matter, please let me know! I'm so curious as to what you think of this story! So please review! :)
