Chapter 12: Destructive Appetite
The weeks seemed to be flying by in Kteas as Kae remained unconscious, and Claire found herself relying on Kess to take her mind off of it. Him, and Shango. The three were with Bert in a very spacious field full of craters, and the greenest grass in the town. If you ask a local, they call it "The Fatal Field" due to the location's popularity amongst hardcore trainers like Kess.
"Why did you even drag me along?" Asked a bored Bert.
"Because you're in the house too much." Responded Claire. As she walked, her tail seemed to have a movement pattern similar to that of a grandfather clock. "A little sun will do you some good."
"All I'm gonna end up doing is watching you two duke it out." Bert brought a backpack with him full of snacks and drinks that didn't go bad in the heat. It was a rather hot day with a temperature of 92 degrees farenheit, also around 33 degrees celsius, but that did not seem to matter to Shango. "Unless you can make me super strong today, I'm out."
"True strength comes from training. If you do not train, you will crumble like a cracker at the smallest conflict." Shango added.
"Not true. I'm plenty str-" Bert flinched when he immediately saw Shango's fist in front of him. It was not a full punch, as he stopped his fist a few millimeters from Bert's nose.
"Very strong." Kess says in a mocking tone that makes Claire laugh.
"Like a cracker." Shango turns around, and he continues to walk a few more feet until he reaches his intended spot. "But with enough training, even the weakest of crackers can become great warriors."
"I'll leave the training to my sister, and my cousin." Bert picked a random place to sit down. "I'm more of a tech guy."
"So is Kae's father." Responded Shango.
"What does he have to do wit-"
"No more questions." Shango points at Claire. "You."
"I have a name you know? It's Claire." She had her hands on her hips.
"Your performance a few weeks ago was excellent. If you wish, you may join us in our training session." He didn't seem remotely concerned about his lack of formality when it came to her name.
"You don't have to ask me twice!" She was secretly hoping that she would get a glimpse of his fabled full power. "My teacher is out of the planet right now. I could use this to avoid getting rusty." As she was speaking, she was performing a series of stretches.
"I like your mindset." Shango let out a small smile. "You are going to make a fine warrior one day."
"T-thanks." She did not know why that made her blush. Perhaps it was the lack of compliments that came from Russ.
"But that day is not today." And there it was straight from Shango's mouth.
"What is it with these teachers, and their need to make us feel like shit?" Claire wondered to herself.
Meanwhile, Kae was sitting in the middle of the very close fog. As he saw it, it was only a few meters away. It had stayed that way for quite a while now without so much as moving an inch. In Kae's perspective, the sight was very depressing. He was only going to see this fog no matter how far he tried to fly.
"I don't get it." He said. "You've slowly been coming for a while, and now you're just stuck. What's your deal?" To say that he was beginning to lose it is an understatement. No, he lost it a long time ago. "If you're gonna kill me, do it now." Of course, nothing happened with the inanimate fog. "Screw this. Let's see if the TV has something on." Slowly, but surely, Kae made his way to the living room of the house. Upon turning the television on, he was flipping through the channels to see if there was something interesting. The first program featured a plumber.
"Hey baby. I heard that you needed some...pipes cleaned." said the plumber.
"Boring." Kae said as he changed the channel.
"Oh pool boy..." Said a woman.
"Her again? Nope." Once more, he changed the channel. The next channel proved to be interesting. Toma was on the screen with Haring, and they were in Pagessi's mansion.
"Thanks again for taking care of the baby." Said Haring.
"It was no problem Mr. Calonze." Replied Toma.
"What? That's not our last name." Kae was very confused.
"I'm afraid that I can't pay you the usual way. Do you accept a check?" Haring had his hands in his pockets.
"Well...I do accept...other forms of payment." Toma says as she walked towards Haring.
"Booooorrrrrriiiiiing." Kae turned the TV off. "What's with these shows, and not paying the other people money? Whatever. Time to try it again." He made his way outside, and he attempted to blast a hole in the sky once more. Nothing but a cloud of smoke, as usual. "Well, I guess that's it." Kae looked at the smoke. "I officially give up!" Both of his hands form into fists, and he extends them up. "I don't know how long it's been, but you win!" Even now, he was convinced that someone had been watching him all of this time. "So if you're gonna kill me with this fog, then do it! I don't care anymore!" Slowly, but surely, the fog began to roll in. "That's right! You sick fuck!" Kae closed his eyes tightly in preparation of the pain he was expecting. "Well what are you waiting for? I saw it coming!" Kae slightly opened one eye, and he saw nothing but a pitch black void. "Wait..." He opened his eyes completely, and he looked around. "Don't tell me that I've been in that stupid room this whole time!" Initially, it seemed that way; but he noticed something different. The fog around him made his skin have a tingling sensation similar to what happens when a limb begins to fall asleep. "What...is this?" Upon his initial urge to question it, he felt the tingling turn into shocking. "Ow! What the hell?!" The more he questioned it, the stronger the shocking felt. "W-wait!" Kae closed his eyes, and he began to take deep breaths. As his mind cleared, so did the shocking sensation. "There." He opened his eyes. "Just don't think about it, and accept it. Being mad will just shock me more." Kae wanted to be mad. If he had known this over a month ago, he could have gotten out much sooner. "Don't worry everyone. I'll wake up soon. I hope." Since it could be a while, Kae decided to sit down. "At least something happened."
"Do you feel that?" Ria was sitting in the hospital room with Krona.
"Yeah. It looks like he did something in his dream." Krona looked a little relieved. "Hopefully he wakes up soon." When they heard footsteps, they vanished.
"Good morning, Kae." The saiyan doctor was back for the first time that day. "You're not dying, are you?" When the doctor was checking the data on the computer, he seemed surprised. "Your ki is fluctuating sporadically." Normally, this concerned the doctor. Instead, he felt a great wave of relief. "At least now I have a lead on what could be wrong with you." The doctor immediately picked up the phone, and he dialed Kae's house phone.
"Hello?" A drowsy Yula answered the phone in her pink robe.
"Good morning, Mrs. Lyon." The doctor seemed to be in high spirits.
"Dr. Parfa!" Yula looked as if ten cups of coffee had kicked in at once. "Good morning! What's going on?"
"I have good news, and bad news." The doctor told her.
"Oh shit." Yula looked at the floor. "What's the good news?"
"The good news is that Kae seems to have made some progress."
"That's fantastic!" Yula said. "And the bad news?"
"It could be kititis."
"kee-tai-tess?"
"It's a rare disease that affects a person's ki gland. Symptoms can include: nausea, trouble flying, unconsciousness, uncontrollable ki-blasting, and death. Fortunately, we can treat it slowly over time with antibiotics. Unfortunately, it means that it will be at least another three months before he comes to."
"Another three?" Yula sighs. "Thank you doctor. It's a relief to know that he is going to be alright."
"That is if he has kititis. It could be another reason depending on what the next scans tell us."
"So it could be something worse?"
"Or something better." He was trying to lift her spirits. "Do not worry Mrs. Lyon. We have everything under control."
"That's a relief to hear." Yula smiled. "Thank you doctor."
"You are welcome. If you don't mind, I have other patients to attend to."
"Of course. Goodbye doctor." Yula hung up the phone. "Thank. God." She was clutching her chest. "He's not gonna die." She knew that it was only a guess, but she was relieved to hear that Kae was making progress. Well, kind of. Kae had been sitting there for a few minutes, and nothing had happened. The sensation on his skin had not changed, the endless void in his sights showed no sign of changing, and his power felt the same.
"Maybe I need to do something." He stood, and he began to walk in one direction. "I hope I don't bump into anything." As he walked, he had his hands out in front of him to make sure that he hit nothing. It was obvious to him that the world was gone after minutes of walking with no contact. "Hmmm…" He tried to charge up a ki blast, but it instantly blew up in his face. "What...just happened?" Once more, he tried to charge up a ki blast; the only difference is that he's being more careful about it this time. "That's...it..." An important detail that he took note of was that surrounding fog was trying to fuse itself with the blast. "Huh?" It appeared to be spiraling into his ki blast. When he felt that it was getting out of control, Kae launched the blast ahead of him.
"What's going on mom?" Bert was rubbing his eyes as he walked down the stairs. "It's 7:00 AM. Who's calling you at this hour?"
"The doctor called." Yula was smiling at her son. "He says that Kae is going to be okay."
"Really?" That made Bert smile. "That's great! Did he wake up?"
"Not really. But at least it's better than not knowing." Yula shrugged with her smile. "I have to clock into work early today anyway. Be sure to tell your sister when she wakes up."
"Will do." Bert uses his right index and middle fingers to salute to his mother. While they were happy about the progress, Kae was not happy about the lack of results. It had been a whole minute since he launched the blast. Since then, it had not make contact with anything.
"I should follow it." Kae began to fly towards the direction of the blast, but he seemed to be having some difficulty with it. The fog seemed to be irritating his eyes as he flew, and it seemed to disagree with his lungs as well. "W-h-at the h-ell is h-app-ening?" It seemed to be an uncontrollable cough, so he landed. Sure enough, everything ended when he landed. He gave himself a few seconds to clear his chest before he proceeded to think. "Kinda missing Claire's punches to the gut right now." His biggest annoyance at that moment is that he found himself back at square one. The layout is weird, he doesn't know what to do, and his attacks don't work.
The spar between Kess and Claire seemed to be drawing attention from the people in the surrounding area. Two in particular seemed to be shoving their way to a front row view.
"Hey! What's your problem?" A random man was angry at the figures pushing their way through. Not getting an answer, he began to follow the figure. "Hey mutt! I'm talking to you and your blue bitch!" The figure he was talking to appeared to be an anthropomorphic dog with a very odd sense of style. His fur had some white, and black, among the mostly brown coat; he also appeared to be wearing baggy pants, brown shoes, and a weird drapery around his neck with a diamond surrounded by stripes. The figure simply stopped, turned around, and uttered one word.
"Hakai." He didn't even move his hand towards the man. The figure simply watched as the man slowly disintegrated into the most basic of particles. That, of course, did not sit well with the retreating locals that caught the attention of the fighters; and Bert.
"Don't you think that was a little too much?" The blue woman asked. She was as tall as the other figure, and her white hair was worn down naturally. What gave her an obvious connection to the other man was her sense of style. The biggest hint was the blue ring around her neck that complimented her staff; it also had a blue ring around a black floating ball. In addition, the clothes she wore over her purple dress contained a similar pattern to the garment around the other man's neck.
"What's going on over there?" Bert stood, and watched as the locals ran from the anthropomorphic dog. "Anyone know him?" The three kids looked to a nervous Shango. While nervous, he retained his angry facial expression and clenched fists.
"Why is he here?" Shango's fists got audibly tighter to the point where his knuckles popped.
"Who is he?" Asked Kess. Shango said nothing as the figure walked towards the group.
"Hello again, uh… Tango, was it?" The man asked.
"Please excuse my correction Lord Synthe, but his name is Shango." The blue lady told her companion.
"Shango. My apologies." Synthe said.
"I-it's okay. To what do we owe this pleasure, Lord Synthe?" Shango dropped on one knee instantly. Kess watched in disbelief as his strong mentor was submitting to a total stranger.
"I come looking for the two saiyans on this planet." Upon noticing Claire's tail, he let out a small smile. "Excuse me. Three saiyans."
"Five saiyans." Claire says uncomfortably. "Who are you, anyway?"
"Oh, excuse our rude behavior. My name is Gine, and my superior here is Lord Synthe. He is the God of Destruction for this universe." The white haired woman said.
"This universe?" Asked Kess. "Which univ-"
"Hold on." Claire interrupted Kess. "You said you were looking for the two saiyans on this planet."
"Indeed I did." Replied Synthe.
"What does a god want with them anyway?" Claire was suspicious of Synthe. She did not get a good vibe from him at all.
"I have come to collect on my promise." Synthe looked impatient. "I came from the other side of the universe to get here. If they bailed on me, this planet is finished."
"W-what was the promise?" Asked Claire nervously.
"A deal was made where if I made them gods, they had to hold a feast in my honor every year until one of us ceased to live." Synthe's eyes narrowed. "Where's my god damn food?" His words made Gine chop him in the back of the neck. "I mean, where is my feast?"
"They didn't...tell us..." Claire's words made him groan. "...it'll be ready in a few hours."
"Fantastic." His facial expression changed to that of a happier one.
"Everyone keep him busy I need to go talk to the chef I'm taking Bert we'll be back I promise!" She wasted no time in grabbing Bert, and flying off.
"Whoa!" Says Bert as he's swooped off of the floor.
"Fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck..." That was the only word that Claire was uttering the entire flight back to her house.
"Honey, slow down." Yula was holding Claire by both of her arms as they both sat on the living room couch. "Calm down, and tell mom what happened." It took a few seconds for Claire to catch her breath. She swore that she never flew so fast in her life.
"A God of Destruction was promised a meal every year, but the neighbors aren't here to deliver. If we don't give him a feast, we're all gonna die." She said it so fast, that she had to catch her breath again.
"Oh." Yula felt her heart drop thousands of feet in an instant. "Then we'd better get to work."
"We?" Claire repeated.
"Yeah. If we want to finish fast, then we're gonna need all of the hands we can get." There was a ring at the door. "I'll get it." Upon opening the door, she saw Ria and Krona standing outside. "Hello. You're the young girl from the news."
"Claire texted us about an emergency, and we came as fast as we could." Ria said.
"Yeah. We can't leave a friend hanging like that." Krona followed.
"Hold on you're no-" Claire was interrupted by her mother.
"We don't have a lot of time." Yula says as she motions for the girls to enter the house. "We should have everything done in four hours if we hurry."
"Alright. Let's save the world!" Ria says as she looks at Claire dead in the eye. She was no murderer, but Claire felt like squeezing the life out of them at that moment. It was difficult to find a time to talk to them since her mother was keeping a close eye on everyone. That is, until there was a few missing ingredients.
"Shoot. I need to go pick something up. You girls keep doing what you're doing, and watch the turkey in the pressure cooker." Without saying anything else, she ran out of the house.
"Okay, what the fuck are you doing?" Claire says as she was chopping up some onions.
"What does it look like we're doing? We're trying to help out the planet." Ria says. "A thank you should be in order."
"I know what you're doing, and I still won't trust you two after this is over." Claire had accidentally chopped the cutting board in half.
"We don't care about you." Krona said harshly. "We only care about Kae. If this tanks, he's dead too."
"Speaking of that, what's your deal with him?" Claire was releasing the pressure from the pressure cooker.
"We just like the kid. He's funny." Ria replies as she was stirring some soup.
"Bullshit. I don't buy it." Claire tasted some of the soup. "Needs a little more salt."
"Then yell at the soup." Krona replied as she high fived her sister, and immediately after added some more salt. "How about we just cook in silence, and talk about this afterwards."
"Fine." They began to cook in silence. Meanwhile, Kess and Shango tried to keep Synthe entertained while the food was being cooked.
"Jeez...this planet is hot." Synthe was being fanned by Gine as the group walked along the small town.
"It's summer on this planet." Kess replied. "It's better to stay in the shade, and enjoy a nice cold soda.
"What's a soda?" Synthe asked curiously.
"You don't know what a soda is?" Kess shook his head. "Oh no. That is not okay." Shango was made even more nervous when Kess began to pull Synthe towards a concessions stand. "Gimme a Kola Koka."
"Sure thing." The concessions lady replied as she set a can of the soda on the counter. "That'll be one credi-" She froze as she saw Synthe's serious face. "I-I mean it's on the house!" She handed it to Synthe.
"Why thank you." Synthe gave a single lick at the metal can. "This tastes awful! How dare you-"
"Gimme that." Kess swiped the soda, which made Shango have another heart attack. When he opened the soda, he gave it back to Synthe. "You drink from the little opening." As Synthe drank from the can, the lady continued to look at him with a nervous facial expression.
"Wow! This really hits the spot during the heat." Synthe looks at the concessions lady. "You really know your way around a...soda was it?"
"T-thank you my lord." She bowed to Synthe. "D-do you mind taking a photo with me?"
"Not at all." While taking the photo, she seemed to look very happy. "Always happy to see one of my followers." From elsewhere, Synthe seemed to be getting some attention.
"Oh my god! Is that Lord Synthe?!" A crowd began to form around Synthe.
"Wow." Kess looked at the forming crowd. "You're popular, huh?"
"I guess they've already forgotten about the guy he erased." Shango sighed. "At least he's happy. Let's keep it that way." Shango also looked as a cheering crowd was surrounding them all.
"Thank you. Thank you." Synthe was waving to the surrounding crowd. "You're all too kind." While he was getting that praise, Gine had to keep a straight face while she was getting whistled at.
"I see mortal men haven't changed one bit." She thought to herself.
"Okay," Yula says, "everything should be good." The table was set for the feast. There were several pies, baked potato slices, cake, ham, corn, biscuits, lasagna, wine, soda and a turkey in the middle. The soup was in the kitchen, and it was staying warm. "If your friends want, they can stay and eat; but everyone needs to put on their best clothes."
"Actually, we can't stay." Ria said. "We have ballet in half an hour."
"Yeah. And we have a recital coming up." Krona added. "Maybe another time!" The two girls ran down the street, and flew off as soon as they were out of sight.
"What a shame." Yula says. "But we don't have time for that. Go get ready."
"On it." Claire ran up to her room.
"Bert!" Yula screamed.
"I heard you!" Bert was already on his way down with khaki pants, brown loafers, and a light blue long sleeve shirt.
"Good." She rushed into her own room, and began to ready herself for potential doom. "I am so gonna collect on this when they come back." She was referring to the saiyans that had dropped this on her. As she was readying herself for the feast, there was some noise by the front door.
"This should be the place." Gine told her superior.
"I hope so. If I have to wait another ten minutes, this planet is toast." Synthe decided to politely knock on the door. Unfortunately, he greatly overestimated the strength of the door that he had just destroyed.
"Lord Synthe..." Gine tapped her staff onto the ground two times. As they waited, the world around them was rewinding back three seconds. "You have been a god for three centuries now. Please compose yourself." She knocked on the door with her staff to avoid a repeat of the incident.
"Coming!" Bert was the one to answer the door.
"Where's my feast?" Synthe asked. Upon being chopped in the beck by Gine, he spoke again. "I mean...good evening mortal."
"Welcome Lord Synthe." Bert moved to let the two gods in, and he used his hand to guide them in the right direction. "The dining area is in there. Feel free to sit down while we get everything ready."
"Fantastic." As the two gods walked into the dining room, Bert swore that he could feel his heart ramming against his chest.
"Do you smell that?" Synthe asked his companion. "This feast may be the best one so far."
"It sure does smell like it." Gine says as she sits down at the table.
"Sorry I'm late." Yula's voice could be heard as she came down the stairs.
"How did you get ready so fast?" Bert looked at his mom, and he was shocked by what he saw. Never in his life had he seen her with her short and black backless dress. To accompany it, she had black ankle strap heels on while also tying her hair back in a wavy ponytail. "Since when did she own that?"
"..." Not only was Bert at a loss of words, but so was Synthe. Gine had to chop him again due to Synthe's obvious staring.
"I need to go check on something. Please excuse me for one moment." Yula confidently made her way into the kitchen. As soon as she was out of everyone's sight, she clutched her chest and sighed. "Holy shit. Literally." She couldn't sense like Claire could, but she could just feel the pressure radiating from him. "Calm down." She was stirring the soup, and tasting it to make sure that it had enough salt. "It's just an incredibly powerful god that will destroy the planet if he doesn't like your cooking. Nothing to worry about!" She took a deep breath it, and exhaled, before stepping back out. Claire had already made her way down to the table. "Alright. Time to start." She clears her throat. "Can I start you off with a drink?"
"Please." Synthe raised his glass. He watched as she popped open a bottle of wine, and poured some of the red liquid into his glass. "What do you call this?"
"It's called wine." She watched as Synthe took the first sip.
"A little dry, but not bad." He noticed that the three kteasians were just staring at him as he reached for a baked potato slice. "I love that look on a mortal's face. Their fear is my joy." When he chewed on the slice, his train of thought took a different course. "Warm, yet delicious." The comment made the three kteasians sigh with relief.
"Do they not have warm foods in space?" Claire asked the god.
"Oh it's common, but most of them taste like garbage." Synthe took another sip of his wine. "Now let's shut up and ea- I mean I'm honored by this great meal!" He quickly corrected himself as he heard a chop coming from Gine.
Kae was experimenting with another idea. Every time he charged up a blast, he waited for as much fog to fuse with it as possible before he launched one. "Eventually, the fog has to run out. Then I can probably wake up!" The problem with his theory is that he had limited ki, and he couldn't tell how much fog he was dealing with. One thing he did notice is that he could hold in a little more fog every ten blasts. "I have to be a lot closer by now. I've launched at least a few hundred!" He could only launch a few more before he got on one knee, and took a few breaths. "If only there was a faster way..." A lightbulb went off in his head at that moment. "It's risky but..." He let out a sigh before he stood. "...I don't have any other ideas."
"It has been a few weeks." Themo told his younger sister in Kae's hospital room. "Nothing has happened to him."
"Of course not you idiot." Thya told her older brother. "Don't you remember that he only reacted to the demon realm's energy before?"
"I simply have faith in this mortal." Themo crossed his arms. He clenched one of his fists, as if he was prepared to smack her, but he relaxed it soon after. "Should we open the gates once more?"
"Do it." As soon as she said those words, the doctor walked in.
"Hey! Who the hell are y-" He found himself finding it hard to breathe; soon after, hard to stand. What he saw before he passed out was Thya's right hand raised.
"Sssh…you won't share the same fate as this mortal. I promise." She winked at him right before his eyes closed. "What a chump."
"I figure that buys us a few minutes." Themo tapped the same wall as before, and thus another demon realm portal was created. On Kae's end, he was powering up as much as he could as large amounts of the fog were diluted into his aura. The more fog he absorbed, the more powerful he felt. There was a certain point where his body felt a sharp increase in his power.
"Whoa!" Kae stopped powering up, and he was left stunned by surprise. "W-what the hell is this?" His right hand was shaking. "I feel...I feel..." His aura intensified; not to try and power up, but to help demonstrate how he felt. "...awesome!" He yelled that word as loud as he could. It was so loud, that Thya and Themo were left surprised.
"Did you hear that?" Thya said.
"Yes. I thought I was going mad." Themo looked over at Kae. "The ungodly word 'awesome' just popped into my head." That comment made Kae stop.
"Wait...someone can hear me?" His eyes shined with hope that he had not felt in over a month.
"Trust me. You're not the only one that's surprised about that." Thya also looked over at Kae.
"This means...you're demons too aren't you?" Kae looked at the black void above him as he spoke.
"Yeah. How'd you know?" She walked up to him, and poked his forehead.
"I can only hear demons. You sound familiar too...Thima right?" He seems to have gotten Thya and Themo's names mixed together. Obviously, that did not sit well with them.
"You already forgot my name!?" She clenched her right fist. "My name is Thya! Remember it well you little shit!"
"And I am Themo. Do not make that mistake again, mortal." Themo crossed his arms.
"Does this mean that you've figured out how to free me?" Kae asked with hope in his voice.
"Sorry, cutie. I had nothing to do with this." Thya sighed. "He didn't even apologize."
"If it helps, we did not begin to hear you until I opened a portal to the demon realm." Themo added. "But...I did this before, and we did not hear anything from you. You must have done something different this time."
"Something different..." Kae thought back to the ki he had launched, and the energy he had charged. "Well...I've been in this weird fog for a while. I've just begun to suck it into me by powering up."
"Why are you doing that?" Thya asked.
"I think that if I suck all of the fog in, I can be free." Kae said. "It's the only thing that's made sense so far." As Kae thought to himself, Themo was also thinking.
"What are you thinking about, Themo?" Thya narrowed her eyes.
"If this all correlates together, then I think that Kae is surrounded in demon ki." Themo looks at the floor. "When I opened the portal, I heard you saying that you felt 'awesome.' This can only mean that you have absorbed enough demon ki to feel a power-up from the demon realm." His eyes narrow. "What perplexes me is that you have not died."
"Why should I be dead from this?" Kae was just, understandably, full of questions.
"Because demon ki feasts on any mortals that try to make the power their own." Themo began to pace left and right. "Perhaps the ki is trying to find some kind of compatibility with your body. Not as true demon ki, but a kind of evolved version of it."
"Hold on." Thya waved her hands. "That's kind of a stretch. How the hell did you get all of that from these small details?"
"Instead of pursuing foolish endeavors for pleasure, like the rest of you, I have pursued godly knowledge." Themo scoffed. "Perhaps this boy will help me answer some questions that Rico left unanswered."
"Hold on!" Kae screamed. "I am not a lab rat!"
"So maybe taking him into the demon realm is a good idea if it means I get to save him." Thya smiled with a twinkle in her eyes.
"What is with that look?" Themo told his younger sister.
"Buckle up, Kae. You're coming home with us!" Thya smiled. "Beep beep!"
"Hold on!" Themo grabbed the bed. "I do not trust your motiv-"
"If it means I get the hell out of here, full speed ahead!" Kae told the two demons.
"You heard him. Move!" Thya began to slowly wheel the bed into the demon realm as Themo watched. He simply let out a sigh before he stepped into the portal with his sister.
"Do not hurt the boy, or I will hurt you." The portal closed behind the three of them.
