12- Car Rides
-Same age as last chapter-
It was the beginning of summer and the Z-Fighters were making the most of it as they all enjoyed themselves at one of Bulma's famous cookouts.
"Trunks," Bulma said, catching him as he and Pan passed the kitchen.
"Yeah?" He took a step back, raising a brow.
"I need you to drive to the store, we're all out of milk and flour," she told him as she ran around the kitchen frantically with Chi-Chi.
Trunks started grumbling, but Pan grabbed his arm and smiled up at him. "I'll go with you."
"Fine," he sighed, a small smile twitching his lips.

Watching Trunks drive never failed to amuse Pan... He would muttered curses under his breath at passing by drivers when they did something wrong; he's even given a few the finger when they really pissed him off. When he was really concentrating on driving, he would narrow his eyes and keep a firm grip on the wheel.
"Dumbasses..." He muttered. "Dumbasses everywhere. This sucks. I wish we could just fly," he sighed.
"Me too," Pan agreed. "But Bulma-San doesn't want us flying in the city."
"I know," Trunks mumbled.
They arrived at the same grocery store Goku and Pan had gotten lost in years ago. Pan wasn't worried about getting lost this time since Trunks was with her. She held his hand as he carried a basket to put their things in.
Pan started humming lightly, something she unconsciously did when she was happy. She started swinging her and Trunks' hands and he gave her a soft smile. She was beautiful, but she was only thirteen. Was that still too young? He didn't know, but he did know that he would wait on Pan, forever if he had to...

"Let's take the long way home," Pan suggested to Trunks once they were back in his car. "Less traffic," she added and silently she thought to herself, 'and more time alone with you.' That was always the best part of Pan's day, being with Trunks.
"I like the way you think Panna," he grinned as he turned down the road that would take them thirty minutes longer to get to Capsule Corp.
"You are coming to my Grandpa's party next weekend, right?" Pan asked Trunks.
"Of course," he nodded. "I wouldn't miss him announcing you and your brothers as his heirs." He caught her frown and he frowned as well. "You don't seem too happy about it, Panna..."
"I don't know," she sighed, turning to face him in her seat. "I guess I'm just nervous... I know that everyone already knows who I am, I mean, it's hard for them not to with me being the Ox King's granddaughter, then being the daughter of Son Goku and Chi-Chi... Plus, I'm constantly around your family... It's just, this is the first time that the spotlight will directly be on me... Well, and G-nii and Go-nii as well..." She slumped her shoulders, "I guess I'm just afraid that I'll make a fool out of myself."
"I don't see why you should be," he smiled at her. "You're already use to the paparazzi- that's a perk of being my best friend," he winked at her, causing her to smile.
"Yeah..." Pan admitted. "But you've always been right there beside me, so I was never nervous."
He grabbed her hand, giving it a gentle squeeze. "Then imagine that I'm right there beside you. Plus, if anyone would mess up, I'm placing my bet on Goten."
Pan started giggling at the thought before it turned into laughter. Trunks slowed his car down until it was parked on the side of the rode. He looked at Pan as she looked at him in confusion. Her black hair was just now reaching past her shoulder blades and it was beautiful. Her coal eyes were wide and looking straight at him, and she still had that adorable smile on her lips! All he really wanted to do was kiss her, but instead he cleared his throat.
"Wanna drive?" He raised a brow.
Pan's eyes lit up. She knew the basics about driving, where the gas and break pedals were, how to turn, ect. She had been studying her driving manual frequently so when it got we birthday in a few months she could go take her test to get her permit but never had she actually driven!
"I've never driven before," she informed Trunks.
He shrugged, "I'm here with you, I won't let anything happen."
She grinned, "this is why you're my favorite!"

"Hey!" Goten gasped, getting off the grass from sparing with Drake when Pan and Trunks pulled into CC's driveway. "You let Pan drive?!"
"Yeah," Trunks grinned, holding the groceries.
"You never let me drive your car, and I have my licenses."
"I don't see how," Trunks muttered truthfully.
"It's because he likes me more," Pan sung.
"Wow Trunks..." Yamacha eyed Trunks' green sports car. "Is that yours?"
"Yeah," the Saiyan smirked. He had a slight fascination with things that went fast so his car was currently the fastest, newest and best car CC was selling at the time.
"That's a nice ride," Krillin whistled.
"Thanks," he grinned.
"I remember when my car was new..." Yamacha frowned, looking at his beat up old red car next to Trunks' green sports car.
"Didn't Bulma give that to you?" Tien asked.
"Yeah," Yamacha sighed. "About eight years ago... It's time for a new one, I'll give Drake this one."
"No thanks, Dad," Drake spoke up from his spot on the ground. "How am I suppose to pick up chicks in that thing?"
"You don even pick up chicks in the first place," Marron muttered, rolling her eyes.
Pan giggled as she followed Trunks inside.
"Oh, there you are!" Bulma exclaimed when she saw them. "What took you so long?"
"The traffic going there was horrible, and then we took the long way home so we wouldn't have to deal with it," Trunks explained.
"Why didn't you two just fly? It would of been a lot simpler and faster." Bulma raised a brow.
Trunks and Pan stared at Bulma in disbelief. "But you told us we couldn't fly in the city," Trunks told her.
"That's right," Bulma nodded, walking to the counter where Chi-Chi was. "Someone could see you and then everyone would go crazy! It's best of you guys didn't fly in the city."
"I agree, there's no telling what could happen," ChiChi added.
Trunks turned his head to look at Pan, who just shrugged. They would never understand their mothers.
