Chapter 12
I don't own Naruto
Recap:
'Caring too much for them and for them to get in harm's way would defiantly make me lose it. I need to practice my self-control! Funny how I was just praised about it yet my control is most likely the worse.'
End of recap.
The sun was bright and Sakura sat on top off the unfinished bridge.
"After thinking about it…..I want to quit building the bridge. Gato will come after me too and I just can't. You should just stop as well."
"No this bridge is hope for the people in this town to help all of us."
"But if we die…."
"Giichi, you don't need to work here anymore." said Tazuna as he walked away.
They fell, looked at each other, glared and ran back upwards on the tree. Neither would back down until they had reached the top.
'What's with this city?' thought Sakura as she followed Tazuna into a shop. There was hardly any food in the shop.
As they walked back to Tazuna's house someone grabbed her dress from behind. She turned and a girl who could not be any older than eight stretched out her little arms
"Can I have?" she asked
Sakura felt pity, but she held it in, she needed to keep her emotions in check. She went into her bag, took out some candy and gave it to the little girl, who smiled as if she had gotten the best gift in the world.
"Thank you!" she turned and ran
"That's how this place has been like ever since Gato came here. The adults have become cowards. That's why we need the bridge!" he clenched his hand. Sakura walked him home and then went to look for Naruto. She could help as long as she didn't get emotionally involved, right? She hoped so.
"Naruto" She called him over "I apologize for this morning, you wanted some tips, right? Well relax don't get too eager, just concrete and think of your feet as if they were your hands. You normally mold an insufficient amount into your hands but you have a lot of Chakra. Concentrate clearly, imagine your foot and the Chakra coming down your leg and into your heel and the front pad of your foot. Make sure it's distributed equally and most importantly don't forget to breathe. "
"Thank you Sakura-chan!" yelled Naruto as he waved and noticed she wasn't there anymore.
After some time-
"Naruto you asked….Sakura….for some tips right?"
Naruto stared smiled like Cheshire the cat
"Yes but I'm not going to tell you!"
He then did as Sakura said and continued to try as Sasuke glared and ran again.
"This is great! It's been awhile since we had so many people."
Sasuke and Naruto ate like there was no tomorrow.
"Seconds, please!" they shouted at the same time, glaring each other down, choking and puking at the side of the table.
"If you're going to puke then don't eat" said Sakura
"No, I'll eat even if I have to force myself. I have to become strong quickly!" They said
Sakura finished her food gave her thanks and stood up to lean against the wall.
'Why couldn't I have gotten a better team?' asked Kakashi
"Puking isn't good either" sighed Kakashi as he watched his two male students puked again.
After the food was eaten, Sakura spoke up
"This picture looks intentionally torn….Why do you hang it up?"
At this the three residents tensed up.
"It was my husband."
"He died."
Inari got off his chair and walked out without another word, his mother following him.
"His wasn't Inari's real father and after the incident Inari changed. He was the hero of this island. Inari was bullied and one day they threw his only friend into the water, it was a dog and Inari didn't know how to swim. The kids pushed him in and then the dog learned to paddle, Inari thought he had die by his dog betraying him but someone rescued him. He also taught him an important lesson about protecting. His name was Kaiza. They started to hang out every day, till one day Inari started calling him dad. Kaiza was told of a dam breaking so he went even if he could die and fix it. But one day Gato caught him and killed him because of his reputation as the 'hero' by killing him and showing the people an example of what could happen if they went against Gato's law. From then on Inari changed."
Naruto got off the chair only to fall.
"If you're going to train stop you'll only get yourself killed, you've molded too much Chakra."
Naruto got on his knees and then was able to stand up even though he was shaking he smiled.
"I will show Inari that heroes still exist!" He yelled as he lifted his hand and gave everyone a thumbs up.
"You truly are an idiot Naruto." said Sakura who walked up to him. Her heart had skipped a beat when she saw Naruto. She was jealous that he could go wild with his emotions. She raised her left hand up to his chest.
"I have yet to master any medical jutsu but this is the best I can give right know." Her hand started to glow green as it circled Naruto's body.
"Wo..wow! Sakura-Chan really is the best!" As he jumped to hug her she sidestepped and made him land flat on the floor. She then looked at Sasuke and he nodded as if giving her permission to heal him, she did so fairly quickly.
"Sakura now you need to rest, Medical jutsu is extremely difficult and I believe you've done more than you can handle." Sakura wanted to glare she can't be up front like Naruto or Sasuke, and she even struggles to support them.
"I'm completely fine Kakashi." It came off colder then she had expected but it was said and she couldn't take it back so she turned and walked out. It was a chilly night but nothing she couldn't handle. She made a hand seal and a hundred scrolls appeared out of nowhere. They opened and surround her. They were everywhere. On the grass and on the rocks and in the air circling her, she began to read and move into a strong stance where she couldn't be thrown off, but also light enough for her to move around easily. She moved and concentrated on nothing except reading and moving. She took a deep breath and removed her shoes. Her feet got comfortable in the grass and she stared to move again while reading. Hours later a voice broke the silence and made her scrolls puff back into the air.
"Sakura" repeated Sasuke "What are you doing?"
She could only glare at him. "That is none of your business Sasuke."
"You know I really don't get you Sakura, you're happy and kind, then… then you're like this."
"Well my behavior is none of you business either Uchiha."
"You know what you're right it is none of my business."
"Exactly now you should go rest or train I'm sure Naruto would help you eagerly."
"You're frustrating me in a way that not even Naruto does, why?"
"I don't have an answer, but maybe it's because you don't like me at all, you see Naruto as more of a friend then me. "
"You know much about me, yet I nothing of you."
"You don't need to know anything of me, what you know is enough."
"What exactly do I know?" said Sasuke he was talking more than ever before and his emotions were going out.
"Tell me Sakura, what do I know? That you're not a Haruno? That you're a Yukihara? That you have special abilities and that what? That's all I know. That's all me and Naruto know. But I bet you know so much more about me and Naruto. Oh and let's not forget you also did some digging on Kakashi."
"Sasuke you and the rest of team seven know more about me than most other. Not including higher ranks."
"Tell me something more…..That's all… I'm….asking…for…" He said as he fell forward. Sakura was able to catch him just in time.
"Sasuke what's wrong? Sasuke, answer me!"
