Brutal Revenge

Chapter 11:

When Kakashi arrived back at the village, the facial expressions of the ninjas made him worry. The ninjas looked beaten and tired and they haven't even done anything. Slowing his pace, he walked through the crowd of ninjas, as they didn't even look at him anyway; they were staring at the forest. Before he could say anything, Naruto and Yamato ran up to him.

"Senpai have you seen Tsunade?"

"Tsunade? Why would she be outside the village?"

"She went in search of you." Naruto said. "She said 'we shouldn't have let our Hokage outside without any protection."

"This is just lovely." Kakashi said in a sarcastic tone. He sighed deeply and then pivoted on his heel and headed through the village gates once again. He jumped to the trees and when he was a good distance from the ninjas, he stopped on the tree branch and evoked earth. He searched for Tsunade, and within no time found her standing on a branch. He then evoked lightning and vanished from his present spot.

"I can't believe it, I still can't believe it."

"Still can't believe what?" Kakashi asked. Tsunade was shocked as she didn't know or sense that he was coming. She slowly turned around, and when she saw him, she immediately went in awe as she remembered what she saw before. Looking at him, she remembered when she had those encounters with Konen, seeing his wings fly outwards, seeing him flying so gracefully, that all left her in awe.

"Why didn't you tell me that you were Konen?" she came out with it so sudden that he was taken aback. He didn't reply promptly, as he couldn't understand how did she find out.

"Where'd you get that from?"

"I saw you. You were talking to four other men with black wings."

"Don't be absurd." He said rolling his eyes with a chuckle.

"Stop denying it!" Tsunade barked. "It pained my heart to see you go and it pained me even more to know that you were right and I kicked you out. I regretted that day what I've done, I searched earnestly for you and then it seemed like you vanished off the face of the earth." Tsunade was tearful, as tears streamed down her cheeks. "Kakashi, I'm sorry."

"It's alright, I ―" Kakashi broke off as an arrow whizzed past his face. Quickly, he grabbed Tsunade and ran off. Confused, she fought out of his grip and stood facing him.

"Why are we running?"

"That Death arrow almost killed us! The Fallen are near and you can't afford to be caught out here. Now let's go!"

"I can't afford it?"

"Yes. The Fallen are powerful beings. By the time you finish a hand seal for a jutsu, you're already dead." Kakashi said grabbing her hand and pulling her. Even though she resisted, Kakashi's grip was firm as he was using the earth's strength. Why can't I pull away? But then, hundreds of Death arrows came their way. Fed up and worried, Kakashi flung Tsunade behind him, turned around and looked in all direction to see where they were coming from. Then he used the earth as his eyes, and found their exact location. "You have to go now," Kakashi said staring at her.

"What? I'm the Fifth Hokage! Don't you think that I'm capable of handle them as much as you can?"

"They aren't like what Darius had attacked you with before. These are intelligent, and much faster. Just go, Tsunade, it'll make things easier."

"I can't."

"What? I told you ―"

"We're already surrounded."

Kakashi didn't even realize when they had arrived. Because he was talking to Tsunade and trying to get her to run, he wasn't paying any attention to the approaching Fallen. Now he has to protect Tsunade and himself. Quickly, he grabbed her and placed her behind him. The Fallen that had surrounded them were all black haired and had blazing red eyes like Goban and Gezeiten, and they burned with a killer intent. They were all dressed in jeans but were without tops and their wings were outstretched.

"Tsunade," he called. "I can hide you for a moment giving you a chance to escape."

"I said I'm not leaving! We'll fight together."

"Oh boy," Kakashi charged at the Fallen directly in front of him and evoked the lightning element. He then vanished from before their eyes only to re-appear behind them with clones, piercing the Fallen. Kakashi ducked low to avoid a kick to the head as the Fallen's foot barely brushed his hair. He then evoked earth and a pillar rose up from the ground beneath the Fallen then splitting into two parts looking like hands grabbing the Fallen. Kakashi then formed his hand into a fist which corresponded with earth with was crushing the Falling. However, the Fallen evoked hellfire and as he kicked out his legs, the element spewed out at Kakashi. Being so close, Kakashi barely dodged it as the fire still caught his shirt. Quickly, he ripped it off, leaving it to burn. Because of this, Kakashi lost concentration and the Fallen was able to break out of the earth. But that didn't last long. As soon as he charged at Kakashi, Kakashi evoked the Death entity. He shot it at the Fallen but he dodged it, but that was Kakashi's plan. As soon as he ducked, Kakashi sent the Death via the earth towards the Fallen grabbing his feet. Then within the blink of an eye, his feet were totally deteriorated. It quickly made its way over the rest of the body, rendering him to nothing. Kakashi then spun around heading to help Tsunade. He was worried sick, as she didn't know how to manage them. As he raced to her, he noticed that she was completely surrounded. But as he neared, he saw Fallen being tossed and flung all over the place. To avoid contact, Kakashi ducked but he was determined to get Tsunade out of there. He dispersed the Death entity at the ones nearest to him. As they cleared out, he saw that Tsunade was actually grabbing them by their wings and punching with all her might, either seriously wounding them, or punching their heads off. But then, more appeared out of the bushes. Kakashi cursed, and decided to take care of those ones. While Kakashi had his hands full, he wanted to hide Tsunade so that she won't be targeted. He created multiple shadow clones, and then he headed to Tsunade. As he made his way through the Fallen, and to Tsunade, fireballs came flying towards them. Of course the clones were destroyed, but the fireballs were coming from all directions. With no other choice, Kakashi cursed aloud, grabbed Tsunade under her arm, evoked wind and took off. Everything happened so fast, Kakashi didn't realized what had happened. As he was taking off, multiple Death arrows were sent at them, and Kakashi shot the Spirit element at them, but unfortunately one caught Tsunade. She screamed in pain, lost her balance and she fell off the wind current. She was falling fast, and Kakashi had to dive for her. He unfurled his wings, with a hard thrust; he was darting through the air like a bullet. Tsunade could see his wings bursting out of his back. Such beautiful wings, I knew he was Konen. He stretched out his arm reaching for her, and then he created a rope from energy to grab her. He then pulled her closer to him, and as soon as he had her, he evoked the Spirit element and pulled the arrow out of her and then he plunged his hand into the wound and poured the Spirit element into her body. After that, he evoked the Star element, and began healing her, extracting the Death entity out of her. With a thrust from his wings, he soared through the air at a blistering speed, reaching Konoha in no time. He furled his wings as he landed, making sure nobody saw them. As he landed on the ground, the bright light from the healing got brighter, and slowly, she was getting better. Kakashi was worried sick when he saw that she got shot, and worse it was made of the death entity, so he totally panicked.

"Senpai! What happened?" Yamato asked with worry.

"Everything happened so damn fast!" he shouted in frustration. "And she was so stubborn too."

"What?!"

"We were attacked by Fallen, they're advancing towards us." He said rising up as he was finished. "Get ready."

"But how did you escape them?"

"We took to the skies."

When Tsunade opened her eyes, Kakashi walked towards the crowd of ninjas standing at the Gates. He had a cool look on his face, trying to get the ninjas to calm down after seeing what had happened to Tsunade. Looking at the skies then, Kakashi had this feeling of dread, like Konoha was about to drown in doom and gloom. Once more, the fate of Konoha was on his shoulders and he had to fight against Fallen. And to make things worse, he's fighting against Darius' daughter and her army and she's more than pissed by now. He released a frustrated sigh, while the ninjas were all running to Tsunade to see if she was alright. The citizens of the village were all gathering at a distance, looking at what's going on. But luckily, the shield was still present. When she got up, she noticed that she was feeling perfect, like she could move mountains. Springing up onto her feet, she ran to Kakashi.

"Kakashi!" she called out to him.

He turned around and saw that she looked refreshed, better than she was before. "I know. I know." He sighed. "Yes, I was Konen, you were right about everything." Tsunade stood there unable to utter a single word. She knew she was right before and that he was denying it, but to hear him openly admit so casually, but having some regret in his voice, she felt as though it was the first time hearing this. "I know I should have told you, but I didn't know how to. I was just concerned about Anko, and Konoha as Darius was free and on a reign of terror, those things were furthest from my mind. I don't know what to say right now, really. I knew that I could have come back to the village, but I ―" Kakashi broke off abruptly. His eyes were welling up with water as he remembered all those horrid times when he was haunted by Darius and went through rigorous training that was intended to kill his mortal part. Unknowingly, tears streamed down his face, but then he felt the sting of it and turned away from her. "I'm sorry that I didn't tell you before." With those words he walked off and then jumped up onto the roof to look at the forest. He looked from left to right and noticed that there were smoke and debris going up into the air from different parts of the forest. He wondered what they were up to, since when he and Tsunade were out there, they weren't using elemental control to its full, heck, and they barely used it at all, as though they weren't skilled fighters. Kakashi began to worry, as he has no idea what they're plans are; only the broad interest: to kill all mortals. As Kakashi began to bite his nails, Darius appeared beside him.

"What is it now?"

"You're in a terrible shape. I, myself don't know what to say because I don't Hisana's plans, but one thing is for sure: protect Anko, she may be going after her sometime while you're busy."

"Botan and Hideki are already on the job."

"Kakashi, don't be scared and not use the elements. If you don't do that, humanity will be wiped out, Anko will die and she won't come back. Ever."

"I know that! But what will they think?! They hate 'Konen', ―"

"Cut the crap. It shouldn't matter whether or not they find out. If 'Konen' wanted the destruction of Konoha he would have destroyed it with a snap of his finger. And plus you're forgetting one thing: Tsunade knows that you were Konen. And there is that Sora girl who would most definitely be on your side. Not to mention the other two."

"Thanks for cheering me up."

"No problem."

"I'm going now; preparing those ninjas for war isn't easy."

"I know,"

As Kakashi walked up to Anko's apartment where they now lived as they still haven't finishing fixing his house, he noticed that night has fallen quickly and the village is once back to normal. He sighed, wondering and hoping that he'd get sleep tonight. He entered the gateway, and then made his way up the stairs. Reaching the door, he slowly opened the door and entered. He walked through the living room and made his way to the bedroom where Anko was. She was sitting around the night table right at the window.

"Anko." He called. She didn't answer. He walked closer to her, and noticed that she had fallen asleep. He chuckled and took her up and laid her upon the bed. He then stroked her hair and gave her a kiss on the forehead. Kakashi stared at her sleeping frame reminiscing the time when he had first met her and began dating. Back in the day when he thought he was normal. He collapsed onto the chair, looking at the night sky. He wondered when they would be attacking, but at least he told his ninjas to be on the look-out. It was the very first time that he'd ever felt this uneasy, it was the very first time that he was faced with such a thing. Like sitting ducks they were, they were just waiting for Hisana's army to attack. He hated himself for being unable to deduce their moves. He was clueless as to where they would be attacking from, and which element they would use. The only thing he knew for sure was the amount of Fallen Hisana had and what are her intentions. He decided to open the window and sit on the sill. The night was cold, causing him to shiver.

"Botan, Hideki." Both Fallen appeared from the walls, as they were using the night element to hide their presences. Kakashi sighed in misery, and the visions came gushing into his head. Remembering those, he knows that everyone in Konoha will see that he can summon Fallen also. Which means that he has explaining to do afterwards. Sleep soon overwhelmed him and then he retired to bed beside Anko.
