25 Days of Christmas
Johnlock Edition

Day Twelve
Watching a Holiday Classic

The past two days for the couple had been filled with nothing but running around, gunshots, and the occasional whispered plea that they make it out of the situation alive. Multiple scrapes, a couple close calls, and the detective and his blogger were more than happy to call that case a wrap. The Disappearing Swan was what John had called it since that was what had started the entire thing. A swan had gone missing and Sherlock had taken it because he'd been utterly bored. Who would have guessed that they would stumble into a drug cartel and completely take it apart without actually meaning to. Of course Sherlock had said that he'd known all along, but John new better than that. The man had been genuinely surprised to have a gun at his head when he'd walked into the building.

John opened the door to 221B and they trudged up the stairs, shedding coats and scarves and gloves. They made sure to hang them up and put them away, but John went to make tea while Sherlock planted himself down on the couch. As the water was heating he walked over to his boyfriend, looking down at the man that looked utterly exhausted. He couldn't help but smile slightly, crouching down in front of him to brush a lock of hair out of his eyes. "Hey, let me check your scrapes alright? Need to make sure that none of them are deeper than we expected," he said.

Sherlock opened an eye and regarded him for a moment before sighing and sitting up. "As you wish," he said softly.

The doctor smiled lightly, checking over the wounds he knew about and seeking out the ones he wasn't certain of. Once they were all checked, cleaned, and bandaged with plasters where they were needed, he straightened up with a smile. "All good, I'll go get the tea, yeah?"

Sherlock nodded absently, closing his eyes as he laid back. "John... we should watch one of your holiday movies," he said calmly.

It threw the man off for a moment before he chuckled lightly. "Alright, I think I know just the one," he said calmly. He grabbed the kettle off the stove and made two cups, bringing them out to the living room. He set them down by the couch, going to the telly to plug in a favorite movie of his as a child. He walked back to the couch, nudging at Sherlock's legs so that he sat up, allowing John to sit down and rest his head on his lap.

Sherlock hummed, closing his eyes at John's fingers in his hair. The only reason he opened his eyes again was because the title screen was playing music. "Home Alone?" he questioned, raising his eyes to John.

The blonde man smiled down at him lightly. "It's a classic, 'Lock," he said with a chuckle, pressing play on the remote.

Later on Sherlock would say that he didn't really remember the movie, he had drifted off shortly in there. But John had as well, so there were no hard feelings there. The point was that they were together, they were well, and they were happy.
