*~The Aftermath~*
Run. That was all she had to do. It was simple; One foot in front of the other. But how could she run when she couldn't breathe, an overwhelming sense of dread robbing her of the very air she needed. To make matters even worse, she was almost completely blinded by a seemingly unending stream of tears that burned her eyes. If she stayed, she would be arrested, but if she ran away, she'd just be digging a deeper grave. She couldn't live with herself if she left Uub to die, she had to at least try to do something to help him.
She didn't have much knowledge in the medical field but she knew she needed to stop some of the bleeding or he would be dead before help even got the chance to arrive. She removed her jacket and ran over to the ravaged body. She knelt down beside the boy and place her jacket on the nape of his neck, where most of blood was spewing out, applying what she thought was enough pressure to at least slow the rate at which the essence of his life escaped his body. His brown eyes were barely open but she knew his weak gaze was fixed upon her, causing even more tears to cascade down her cheeks and land in the growing pool of blood.
"I'm so sorry! He just came out of nowhere!" A white man exclaimed as he approached them. He was bald but had a short gray and brown beard. He wore a gray shirt, which looked about a size or two too small for him, stained by coffee, mustard, and other various substances, as well as wrinkled blue jeans. The man smelled of a mixture of cheap beer and amateur breakfast blends.
FiPan gagged as she inhaled his scent. His smell made the gory scene even worse. It was his fault Uub was like this. But then, she was the one who pushed him. She didn't acknowlegd the man, for if she did, there'd probably be anotjer bloody body on the ground.
It wasn't long before she saw two people with a gurney push through the crowd and rush to Uub. "Excuse us ma'am but you have to move," the female paramedic said.
"I can't, it's my fault he's like this. I can't abandon him," she cried.
"Well he's gonna die if you don't move," the other said rudely, receiving a warning glare from his partner.
The woman knelt down next to Pan and placed her hand on her back. "I'm sure this isn't your fault, but he needs medical attention. Could you please let us do our job?"
They were right, she was no surgeon, nor was she a doctor. She wasn't capable of fixing him, sadly, and if she wanted to see him alive again she needed to let the professionals do their job. Pan stood up on her wobbly legs and watched as the paramedics did their work. In less than a minute he was on a gurney and being pushed off to the ambulance.
"Are you coming?" The female paramedic questioned.
Pan quickly nodded before following them.
For the most part, she sat alone in silence. She held her knees close to her chest and cried softly into them as the scene replayed in her head numerous times. Her anger got the best of her once again, and this time she she hurt someone close to her. Curse her saiyan genes, if she was just normal she wouldn't be in this situation.
"Pandora Son," a deep voice called out.
Her head shot up and she faced the direction the voice was coming from. Two men clad in police attire stopped near the receptionist desk. The one who called her looked very young and quite attractive. He was tall, in shape, green eyes, light brown hair that was cut short, and had a very sexy voice. The other officer was talking to the receptionist, he looked about ten years older than the other officer and wasn't nearly as attractive. He was about five inches shorter than his partner, chubby, and nearly bald.
"Yes?" she responded weakly. She hadn't spoken in hours and her throat was as dry as an African desert.
The officers immediately made their way towards her and took a seat across from the girl. The handsome officer extended his hand out and greeted her with a smile. "Hello there Pandora, I'm officer Johnson, and this is my partner, officer Lebrun."
Pan smiled weakly and shook the man's hand. "Hello."
"I believe you know why we're here. About Naomi Watts and your boyfriend, Uub," officer Johson said.
Pan simply nodded in response. She didn't care much about Naomi's well being at the moment. She hoped she was okay but her main concern was Uub. "How is she?"
"Well you put her in a coma," the other said harshly, glaring at her. He knew Naomi's father very well, as the two went to high school and college together. He was like her uncle, and he cared dearly for the girl. Sitting in front of the person who put her in a coma eraged him like nothing else. If it was up to him, Pan would be wasting away behind bars by now.
His partner grunted, "Please excuse him. Anyways, can you explain to me what happen earlier? Between you and miss Naomi."
"Well um our English teacher had paired Naomi and I up to share our writing prompts. I
didn't want to because it was really personal. Naomi took my journal and when I asked her to return it, she refused and then proceeded to read my journal to the whole class. It had been about Trunks Briefs, and she insulted me and that's when I stopped thinking straight, and allowed my anger to take over. I didn't know I was capable of putting her in a coma, and I'm terribly sorry," Pan explained.
Officer Lebrun rolled his eyes and slumped down in the chair. With a heavy sigh he responded, "Sorry isn't going to cut it sweetheart. There's a possibility she could never wake up."
"Sir, you have to understand, I didn't hit her with intentions of putting her in a coma," Pan told her. To her it seemed like the man believed she did this on purpose. If only he knew Naomi's true nature, if he knew she could be a rude and evil bitch, then maybe he wouldn't be here now trying to make her feel like the bad guy.
"Lebrun, could you go asked the doctors how Uub is doing?" Officer Johnson suggested. It was more of a command than a suggestion, officer Johnson had took notice of his partner's hostility and he didn't need him threatening or scaring the girl.
Without a word, officer Lebrun pushed himself up and walked away from the two. Officer Jonhson cleared his throat and returned his attention back to the girl in front of him. "Once again, sorry for his behavior. Now to me, it does seem like an accident. Naomi provoked you. Hell I'm surprised you put her in a coma in the first place, you're such a small girl, and from what your teachers say, you're not a trouble maker. I don't think you'd get in trouble with the law about Naomi, you might get suspended for a long period of time, and maybe community service at the most. But as for Uub, you might not get off as well. The video camera shows you pushing him on purpose-"
Her whole life was ruin now, and she had brought two people down with her. If Naomi survived there was a possibility she could have lost her memory. And well, the chances of Uub dying were high. If by some miracle chance he did survive, there was bound to be some complications.
"Pandora?" the officer called.
"Huh?" She responded, a little startled by his deep voice. "Sorry, I'm still worked up."
The man sighed and gave her a sympathetic look. "Where's your family at? You shouldn't be here alone."
"My mom's going to kill me if she sees me, she's going to think I'm a monster and that's exactly what I am," she said softly. She tried her hardest to hold her tears back but failed, they rolled down slowly at first but then she was sobbing uncontrollably.
"I'll be back Pandora," he told her before getting up and walking away. He didn't go too far, only to the receptionist desk. Pan paid no attention though, her face was still buried in her knees.
About twenty minutes passed, and Pan was on the verge of falling asleep. She hadn't seen the officer in a while so she assumed he had got tired of her and left.
"Pan sweetie where are you!" A woman with a panicked look plastered on her face rushed into the waiting room followed by a tall man with crazy black hair.
Pan didn't have to look to know who was calling her. It was her mother, and surprisingly she didn't sound angry. Pan slowly lifted her head up and looked over at her mother. In the matter of seconds, Chichi rushed over to her and wrapped her arms around her daughter and held her tight.
Once she had fallen asleep, a doctor had suggested to Chichi to let her rest in the on call room. Chichi had agreed and went with her to the on call room. She tucked her daughter in and after about ten minutes left with the female doctor who gave her an upate on Uub and Naomi.
Naomi's injuries were relatively minor, all she needed was a few stitches. From the looks of things, she could wake up within the next few weeks. The only worry was that she'd lose her memory, which was quite common with an injury like hers.
Uub was in critical condition. His surgery was complicated for the doctors and he had a couple of close calls to death. He was in the ICU as they spoke, and would probably need another surgery in the next few days.
When the doctor and Chichi returned to the waiting room it was full of family and close friends Pan: Trunks, Bra, Bulma, Gohan, Goten, and Videl.
"Where's Pan?" Bra asked rushing up to Chichi.
"She's asleep. Why didn't you tell me Pan got in trouble early. Wait, why didn't the school call me?" Chichi growled.
"She was really stressed out and I just wanted to help her relax before she went home to get yelled at," Bra spat.
"Bra! Don't talk to Chichi like that. She's right, you should have just took her home, at least Uub would have been safe. Now apologize," the older blue haired woman ordered, giving her daughter a deadly glare.
The teen sighed heavily, they wouldn't understand: Who in the hell snitches on their best friend? Kami, they act like they were never teens before. "I'm sorry for being disrespectful Chichi."
"And excuse me for snapping at you. My emotions are everywhere right now," Chichi explained.
Trunks cleared his throat before standing up. "Now that we're done with the drama, how are we going to help Pan. Naomi is spiteful bitch and will most likely try to press charges."
"I know a damn good lawyer Chichi," Bulma informed, "He always gets Vegeta out of trouble with the law."
The black haired woman softly chuckled.
"She's also gonna need a therapist or something like that. If she doesn't get help soon it could lead to depression," Bra added.
"I hope that bitch dies!" a feminime voice roared.
All their heads turned toward to the source of the voice. A girl with chocolate brown hair and cinnamon colored tone skin was stalking towards them. "Where is she!'
Bra frowned and stepped closer to the girl. "Celeste, I know you're upset-"
The woman scoffed and chuckled menacinly, "I'm far from upset! She pushed him into the streets! She never cared for him! She ignored him and probably cheated on him!"
"Excuse me missy, I don't know who you think are, but you have no right coming here to slander my daughter's name!" Chichi shouted.
"She killed my little brother! She's a lying cheating murderer!" Celeste wailed, "If I ever see her again I will kill her!" Celeste fell to her knees and used her hands to shield her eyes. She was hurt, scared, and angry and she needed to let some steam off. Snapping at the Sons wasn't greatest way of doing so, but she just needed to tell someone how she felt.
Chichi's motherly instincts had quickly consumed her thoughts. The girl was rude and had no right calling Pan out of her name, but Chichi felt the need to comfort her. The older woman sighed lightly and walked over to the brown haired girl. She knelt down beside her and placed her hand on Celeste's back and rubbed it in a comforting manner.
Trunks sighed as he slipped his hands into his pocket, everything was turning into a movie corny chick flick movie.
He couldn't get over the guilt he felt. He could have prevented this by taking Pan home after their merting at the mall. He and Uub were't best friends, and he had nothing against the boy, but he knew Pan didn't push him on purpose. He must have provoked her.
"Goten slow down!"
Goten had came rushing into the waiting room, a look of terror on his face. Behind him followed his girlfriend who didn't look the least bit worried.
"Where's Panny?"
"She's asleep," Goku answered.
"Is she okay?" He questoned.
"Physically? Yes. Mentally, no," Gohan answered.
"And what about that girl and Uub?" Goten inquired.
"She's basically fine, but Uub isn't doing so great," Goku responded.
Bra scowled at the sight of Valese; she didn't know Pan, nor did she like her, so why did Goten bring her along? Bra growled lowly; this wasn't about her, it was about Pan. She wasn't going to say anythimg to them, as long as they didn't say anything to her. "I'm going to go check on Pan."
"I'll go with you," Trunks stated. Goten and him weren't on good terms yet, and to advoid conflict the heir decide to leave with his sister.
"It's room 421," Chichi told them.
Bra nodded and started walking down the hall, Trunks trailing closly behind them. It took about five minutes for them to reach their destinstion. Bra entered first, the room was dark so she felt around on the wall for the light switch. Once she found it she switched it on, and looked around to see which bed was occupied by Pan.
"Sure this is the room?" Trunks questioned once he realize she wasn't in any of the beds.
"This is room 421, and Chichi did say 421," the bluenette replied as her eyes still wandered around the room."What's that?" she inquired, pointing to the bed farthest away from them which was messed up. On the pillow, laid a sheet of paper.
Trunks shrugged amd squeezed passed his sister and walked over to the bed and grabbed it and glanced. "It's Pan's handwriting."
"S-she didn't," Bra stammered, her voice cracked as the words escaped her mouth.
I'm sorry for doing this, but I don't know what to do. I didn't mean to hurt anyone, but I still feel guilty. I wish I could undo all of this. I'm also tired of hurting people. I've decided to runaway, I don't know when I'll come back, but I promise it won't be too long. Don't worry too much about me, and know that I didn't do it to hurt anyone. I love you all, and I hope everything gets better while I'm gone.
-Pandora Son
"She's gone."
Pan bit on her lip softly as she tapped lightly on the door of the building. She had run away. Surprisingly she had done it without being caught. By now, everyone probably knew she had run away, and were searching every inch of the hospital for her. No one was going to find her, she had surpressed her ki and no one, not even Bulma, would think to look here.
The door open and the nervous Pan bowed. "Sorry for disturbing you, but I have nowhere else to go. I'm not in trouble legally, not that I know of, but I need somewhere to stay for a while. I'd be grateful if you'd let me stay Master Roshi."
The old man chuckled and opened the door wider and motioned for the girl to come in. "Of course you can!" The thoughts of sneaking in the room she'd be staying in and stealing her panties while she slept played over and over his head a million times.
