Guys...Guys...You guys are awesome. Like seriously, I keep getting so many reviews and PM's about how much people like this story and ask me to continue. I'm sorry it takes so long for me to get chapters out, I've been busy with work and life in general (can't tell you how many birthdays come up in my life!). But I just want to let you know, I appreciate all the kind words and follows/favorites I receive for this. And that's why it's hard for me to say that this story is soon coming to it's conclusion. (Ducks behind a barricade)

PLEASE DON'T BE ANGRY! But this story was only meant to run into the tens chapter-wise, and really, you can tell it's going to end. B~UUU~T it won't be ending for another chapter or two, one of which will be an epilogue of some kind. BUT FEAR NOT! Though this story is ending, I have many others I've been working on that I might be posting. So whenever I start posting those, go ahead and take a look-see and maybe you'll enjoy them as much as this story.

Anyways! So this chap there's a lot of bouncing around from character point of views. This is intentional so don't worry! Also, fighting WILL be happening but nothing too descriptive until the next chapter. This was already hitting close to the 3,000 word mark so I couldn't make it any longer without taking aware from the next chapter. Either way, I hope you enjoy and please R&R~!

Seras: It's kinda sad, having this end. It was sorta fun.

Alucard: FINALLY I GET TO DESTROY THINGS! Took you long enough, you sorry excuse for an author.

Me: I'M SORRY but there hasn't been a chance for you to do so until now.

Pip: I'm afraid to ask but...am I going to die?

Me: Not this chapter. ;)

Pip: Merde.

Seras: Oh come on guys, give the author a break!

Alucard: So when do I finally get to have my way with the Police girl?

Seras: MASTER!

Walter: Also, Jaden would like everyone to know that she does no, nor ever has, own Hellsing. That right belongs to Kouta Hirano and it's affiliates.

Me: If I DID own it, AxS would TOTALLY be cannon and not just a fantasy.

Pip: HEY!

Me: Sorry Pip, as much as I love you, I prefer Seras be with Alucard. n_n;

Alucard: HAH! Eat that French scum!

Seras: Jaden would also like everyone to know that she in no way hates the French, either.

Me: And not that that's out of the way~

Everyone: ENJOY~!

Shadows of Moonlight

Chapter 12

He watched them, on his place upon the hill. He watched them as they scurried about attempting to fortify themselves against him. He sneered at their attempts, for he knew in the end they would be useless. His shadows had already infiltrated the Mansion, and through them he could see all that went on. He saw the soldiers with their weapons. He saw the on-call medical team readying their medical rooms for use. He could see the other staff—those who had no experience with fighting in any way and thus useless—leave the grounds for their homes, hoping to have a job to return to the next day. He watched as the butler prepared himself for the upcoming altercation, taking in hand his wire-gloves. But most of his attention was on two individuals in particular. His Bride and the Hellsing.

His eyes had glowed with a feral light when that bitch had struck his intended. It had taken all his years of training to keep from giving himself away and killing her too soon. He supposed it was bound to happen. He'd watched them for years, knew how close they were. It had been about time they'd finally come to a head. But he would be damned again if he allowed that Hellsing whore to touch his Bride again. His blood red eyes glowed with malice, mouth stretching in his usual mad grin. Oh, he would enjoy claiming what was his. It had been so long, so long, since he'd had a true challenge. And what a prize he would have in the end. He laughed aloud, the insanity from his long captivity flaring up in him. He would not be surprised if the residents of the Hellsing Manor could hear him. He stared longingly up at the moon above, a huge golden disk. A Hunter's Moon. How fitting.

"It really is a beautiful night. Makes me want to have a drink." And once more he laughed, shadows spreading from his body to become dead soldiers from eons past. It was time for war.

"Integra, I swear if you don't let me out of here I will kill you myself! Do you hear me Integra?! Walter, please just let me out! I can stop this before it's too late! Walter!" Seras banged against the door to the room she'd been placed in, screaming for all she was worth. As she had been for the past hour. She growled in frustration, rubbing her sore fists. How could this have happened? How could things have gone so horribly wrong? "I never should have come back home." Tears of angry frustration filled her sapphire eyes as she sat down on the bed in the room. It was a spare room, one that hadn't been used since before Arthur Hellsing's time. At least, according to the amount of dust flying in the air from where she sat it hadn't. She wondered vaguely if it used to be a servants quarter. There wasn't even a proper window, much to her chagrined. Just a small window that didn't even open.

"How am I supposed to get out of here, when there's no place to get out through?!" She didn't even have her lock picks with her. She'd taken to keeping a set of lock picks on her person after an incident where she was locked in a cupboard for five hours occurred. But she'd forgotten them when she'd left for her ride earlier that day and now she was trapped. Again! Groaning, she looked around the room, hoping, praying for some inspiration. Her eyes landed on an antique vanity across from her. There were still some odds and ends on it; a brush, a bottle of some nameless scent, a few bobbing-pins—

"That's it!" She cried, launching herself at the vanity. She slammed her shin against the wooden leg, causing her to cry out in pain. Dammit, as if she wasn't having enough trouble as it was! She grabbed the pins up in her hand, grinning triumphantly. No sooner had she done so, though, before a spine chilling laugh sounded throughout the manor. She knew that laugh. Alucard was coming. She rushed to the mini window above her head, using a chair to help her peek through. The sight before her made her pale. Oh yes, he was coming alright; and he was bringing friends.

"Has everything been secured, Captain?" Integra stood before the large windows of her office, hands cupped behind her back.

"Oui, Sir Integra. All the floors and entrances are covered. We have soldiers at all the windows, ready to fire on command. The medical staff are ready and prepared to receive any and all casualties . . . but let's hope it doesn't come to that, eh?" Integra had to admit; for a disgusting French pervert, he was efficient.

"And your men?"

"They are guarding the hall to yours and Seras' quarters as we speak."

"Good. . . . Mr. Bernadotte, may I ask you something?"

"Quoi?" Pip frowned at the Hellsing leader's back. What could she possibly wish to ask a mercenary like him?

"Are we doing the right thing?" The question was so quiet, Pip could barely hear it.

"Qu'est-ce que tu dis?! Of course we are doing the right thing! We are protecting Seras from this monster after her, and once she's out from under his spell, everything shall return to normal."

"Will it really? I will not turn from my path, I know this much. But you didn't see her face earlier, Captain Bernadotte. She truly believed this monster would leave us alone if she gave herself to him. She truly believed that this creature cares for her in some way. At first, I thought it was merely because she was bewitched. But the more I think about it, the more I realize how clear her eyes were."

"How clear?"

"The first sign of an enthralled human is their eyes losing focus. They're looking right at you, but not truly seeing you. Seras saw me Pip." Pip jerked at the sudden use of his name, Integra turning to face him. "Her eyes were completely clear. The room I had Walter place her in has hidden runes inscribed throughout it to help diffuse vampire influence on their victim. If she was truly under this creature's control, she would have come to her senses right now. But she is still in there, banging on the door in an attempt to get out and get to him. Either this creature is even stronger than a millenniums worth of arcane knowledge, or she was never under his influence to begin with."

"So what you are saying is—"

"What I'm saying is that my sister is in her right state of mind. But that changes nothing." The imposing figure of the Hellsing head stood to her full height, once more facing the window. Pip shivered at the icy look he'd seen in her eyes before she'd turned away. "We will still destroy this creature, for this is our duty as members of the Hellsing Organization."

"Well, I'm not really a member of this fancy organization you have going on, but I'll be damned if I let some undead monster get his claws on Seras again." A haunting laugh interrupted their conversation, both occupants of the room whirling around wildly for the source. Was it the vampire? Was he already preparing to attack? The slamming of the office door drew both of their attention, turning to see a rather ruffled looking Walter quickly walking in.

"Sir Integra, have you seen the exterior videos yet?" He said quickly, his eyes alight with some unknown light.

"No, I have not. What is the situation?" Worry creased her brow, having never seen her loyal retainer like this before. Did this have something to do with the creature?

"See for yourself." He pressed a small panel button and a set of TV's appeared from the side wall. They flickered on immediately and revealed what had Walter so distressed. Thousands of undead was headed towards the manor. The three stood in shocked silence at the creatures, all haloed in some demonic aura. Integra knew exactly who these creatures belonged to.

"Damn you, Alucard." She hissed, gritting her teeth in anger. She turned towards the two men standing with her, waiting for her orders. "I have only one order for you, gentleman. Search and Destroy! I want that monster and its unholy minions eliminated immediately!" She was fairly yelling at this point, all of her sophisticated British grace gone. A dark light filled her crystal blue eyes, a hunger for the blood of her enemies. For just a moment, Pip couldn't help but think she wasn't all that dissimilar to the monster they were attempting to destroy. "Search and Destroy!"

The two men saluted her resolutely before Pip made his way out of the room to join his men. He prayed they all lived through this, but then again when had god ever answered his prayers?

"Come on you rusted bastard, open!" Seras had been working for a good hour on this door, breaking over five bobbing pins in the process. She only had three left, and she was making no progress on the door. "FUCK!" She'd broken yet another bobbing pin. Tossing the piece of crap across the floor to join the other failures, she slumped down on the wood floor. What was she going to do? The pins weren't working and she could already hear the beginnings of battle. She knew Alucard, at least a little. She knew he would leave her here in this room until the battle was over and everyone she cared about was dead. She wasn't naive, she knew just how evil and malevolent a creature he was. So then why do you want to be with him? Because despite the fact that he was an undead king of darkness, he made her feel alive.

She continued sitting there as the sounds of gunfire and explosions sounded outside. It was too late. She would be stuck here, everyone would be dead and there was nothing she could do about it. Since when do Victoria's give up so easily? Stealing herself, she readied herself to attempt the door again. She couldn't give up, not yet! Not when she had so much to lose on both sides. "Please, God, if you can hear me, let me stop this madness! I've never asked you for anything before. Please, please let me get out of here and stop the fighting!" She gave the pin a final twist. A resounding click echoed in the tiny room and Seras' eyes widened.

"YES!" She ran out the room, not noticing the eight eyed red gaze following her.

Alucard laughed manically, shooting everything in sight. Friend, foe, it mattered not. He was reveling in the destruction. A soldier attempted to intercept him as he made his way through the manor towards the office of Hellsing. Giving his trademark grin, he shot the soldier in the head without a second thought, blood and brain matter splattering all over the place. His ghouls feasted on any fallen soldier they found, blood and flesh dribbling from their sickly grey lips. He ignored it all, focused on only one goal. A group of soldiers appeared before him, shooting immediately. He allowed the bullets to hit, to tear his flesh and spray his blood. He fell to the ground, letting the human scum believe for a moment they had won. Then before their very eyes, he began regenerating. Limbs reattached, wholes filled in. He was whole and standing before them once more before he blasted them all in the head.

Though honestly speaking, as fun as it to terrify these pathetic excuses for warriors, he was getting bored. He could regenerate anything they threw at him, making dodging all but obsolete. His ghouls were taking care of most of the humans. Where was the challenge?

"It's about time you got here, you undead freak!" Bingo! Grin becoming even broader if possible, he turned towards the carrot haired Frenchman as he stood silhouetted by the carnage. Oh, this should be interesting.

"Well, well. Captain Pip Bernadotte; leader of the Wild Geese mercenary group and overall good-for-nothing. Have you chased many skirts lately?" He saw the Frenchman clench his jaw slightly before a dashing smile adorned his face.

"No, I'm afraid I've been too busy protecting the woman I love from the forces of evil. Now, how about you be a good little vampire and go stake yourself, oui?" Alucard laughed, fully facing the human now. Oh, he would greatly enjoy this.

"The woman you love? You mean the woman who rejected you outright?" Pip sputtered indignantly, raising his automatic rifle to aim at Alucard.

"She only rejected me because of your influence! She would never have done so normally."

"Poor egotistical fool. I had nothing to do with her decision. My only conquest at the time was to torment you enough for you to lose your nerve. Her rejection had nothing to do with me. But that changes nothing." Slowly, Alucard raised his trusty handgun, Cassul, and aimed it at his opponent. "I'm still going to kill you for even thinking you could touch her."

"Same goes for you, connard!" And the fight began.

Seras was seriously rethinking her decision to leave the room. Everywhere she went, she was stuck running for her life from ghouls. Mindless creatures that they were, there was no way for them to understand that she was most definitely not on the menu. And she was nowhere near her room or the armory, where she could gain weapons to not only protect herself but hopefully stop all this madness. She turned down yet another hall and ran almost headfirst into a horde of ghouls.

"FUCK!" She screeched, turning the other way just to discover the way she came was also filling up with ghouls. "Oh fuck, no, no, nonononononono!" There was no way out. There were no doors for her to escape through, and the creatures were slowly drawing closer. Sickly gray hands reached towards her as she edged towards the wall, the creatures moaning growing louder and louder. "Somebody . . . anybody . . . help!"

A ringing howl boomed through the hall and a large animal charged through the hordes of ghouls, ripping off limbs and other body parts as it passed. Seras shut her eyes against the spurting blood and the groaning screams of the ghouls and they were torn asunder. She attempted to block out the sounds of rending flesh and crunching bones with her hands, curling up into a ball on the ground. Eventually the carnage was replaced with silence. A damp nose touched her arm softly, making her flinch. She opened her eyes and found her gaze meeting that of . . . something. It looked like a huge shaggy black dog of some kind, but instead of two normal brown eyes, she was met with eight—eight—glowing red eyes! Squeaking, she attempted to jerk away from the creature but instead only succeeded in slamming her head against the wall behind her.

The hound gave a rather dog like grin as it watched her, making a chauffing sound in reminiscence of a laugh. She glared at it balefully, not in the least amused. "Okay, smart guy, if you want to be so helpful then how about leading me to the armory without running into anymore of those monsters?"

The hound huffed before patting down the hell that she'd come from, pausing to look at her pointedly. Grunting, Seras got once more to her feet and followed the creature. She should probably be afraid of it, but something told her it wouldn't do her any harm. In fact, she hoped they didn't come across any soldiers anytime soon. She didn't want to see what the hound did to them if they attempted to stop them.

It was going wrong. All wrong. Integra stared unseeingly at the many monitors in the room, watching as her men were slowly killed and devoured by the undead. Walter had left some time ago, destroying what enemies he could in an attempt to save their men. Pip had made contact with the enemy and was battling him. And Seras had somehow managed to escape from her room and was travelling with a hell-hound. It was going all wrong. She slumped in her chair, shaking hand pulling a drawer open and pulling out her stash of Cuban cigars. Quietly, she lit one and took a deep inhale of the toxic smoke. Feeling her nerves slowly calm. There was nothing left she could do. Even with her training as a fighter, she already knew she would never stand a chance against their current foe. Just as she had the day before, she lifted her hand and stared at it. "God save us all."

French Translations (if not correct, let me know because I was using an online translator and we all know how well those work;;):

1. Oui—Yes. (of course)

2. Quoi?—What?

3. Qu'est-ce que tu dis?!—What are you saying?!

4. Connard!—Asshole!

Again, if any of these are incorrect or are in the wrong context, let me know with the proper translation and I'll fix it!

And here we are! I'm sorry if the fight scenes seemed kind of half-assed but again nothing too descriptive because none of the characters were in serious fights until just now. The majority of Pip and Alucard's fight will be going on during the next chapter, as well as some Walter and Seras fighting the ghouls. As for Integra...you'll just have to wait and see ;3.

SO Seras has managed to escape imprisonment and is trying to stop the fighting. Will she be able to save everyone she cares about? And if it does, what will be the cost? Find out in the next installment of SHADOWS OF MOONLIGHT!

Everyone: *Staring fearfully at Alucard*

Alucard: War, war! GLORIOUS WAR AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAA!

Me: Eerm...should we maybe just leave him alone for now?

Seras: Probably a good idea.

Pip: Oui.

Walter: I concur.

Integra: Idiots. Lets go.

Everyone: *Leaves Alucard*

Alucard: *Still laughing maniacally.*
