So…I haven't update in a while? Yeah- sorry about that. I'm a person that is easily distracted plus I kind of lost my muse for a long while. But I am back with a new attitude and some great new ideas following! Can you forgive me?
But thanks to everybody who has been with me this long. It means so much that I have reviewers like you guys.

Alec P.O.V
I've known Mr. Morgenstern to be an intimidating man in the years I've known him. When I was little and I'd spend the night with his son Jonathan I'd find myself scared of the man. He acts dark and mysterious sometimes- the man is a bit on the shady side of things. Sometimes, when I was at their house with Jonathan, I'd find him up roaming the halls drumming his fingers lightly on the walls. There was one time I caught him in his study when I got up to use the bathroom polishing a pistol… Likely to say I made sure I went to the bathroom before bed after that. Mr. Morgenstern is a kind man- loves his wife and kids. He's light and funny sometimes. But he's a mean son of a bitch when it boils down to the nitty-gritty. I have a feeling that I'm going to get a taste of his "Mean Side" because the moment he saw me with Clary in my lap, I believe that he made a plot to kill me.
"Your father's going to kill me!' I squeak. I pull a shirt over my head, looking to Clary who sits in my computer chair. Her face looks better than what it did earlier. The swelling has gone down but left behind is a nasty bruise that will stay for a long while.
Clary chuckles wildly. "My father isn't going to kill you." She shoots me a smile and twirls around in the chair, her red ringlets bouncing with the motion. "Alec, he looks at everybody like that."
I roll my eyes. "Like what? That man holds the look of Satan in his eyes. When he looked at me he held the gaze of a person that kicks puppies and butchers kittens!" I plop down on my bed, groaning. "Sure, he looks at everybody like that." I look to Clary and she flips me the bird and I laugh, feeling better now that she's happy.
"You make things something they're not," Clary scowls. She crosses the room, sitting next to me on the bed. "Alec, my father doesn't take well to boys whom I have dated."
I raise my head up. I recall Clary's dating history before me and believe me, they weren't good. The boys Clary reeled in were normally bad news- Isabelle loved them, of course. I used to tease her that the current boy she was dating was going to be her baby daddy. Then…here I am, dating the girl that brought in juvenile delinquents. "So your father has classified me as a pill-popping juvenile delinquent?"
Clary rolls her eyes. "Alexander! No! Ugh!" She falls back onto my bed, huffing. I chuckle, rising up to look down at her. "Dad likes you, Alec. He values you deeply, but a relationship between us? He's probably worried."
"Worried about what?" I ask. "He probably thinks I've blackmailed you into being my girlfriend or something like that."
"Stop that! Even my mother was shocked!" Clary exclaims. The ginger takes one of my hands in hers, holding it close to her. "Your mother says she's still in shock. Besides- you blackmailing me into dating you? You're not that devious, babe."
I cock an eyebrow. "Are you suggesting that I'm not clever?"
"No- you're clever. Like you dying my hair blue with Jace- that was clever," Clary says. She leans forwards, pecking me softly on the lips. "But blackmailing is Jace Herondale's game, sir. You're not that mean."
I pout, winding my arms around her little waist. "You insult me." I smile when she begins to laugh, pulling the girl close to me. I love hearing her laugh- especially after knowing what she's gone through today. I sigh, pulling back from her to observe her cheek. "Does it still hurt, Clare?"
Clary shakes her head. "No. It just stings a little, that's all." She reaches up carefully, stroking the bruising on my cheeks and the gash on my eyebrow. I smile grimly at her, removing her hands from me and press a kiss to each one. "I'm sorry, Alec."
I frown at her. What does she have to be sorry for? Raphael was the one that did this- not her. "Clary, baby… Don't say that. Listen, sweetheart, you couldn't help what happened. Raphael is a royal dick and a pain in the ass- so he beat me up a little bit."
"But I'm the reason!" Clary says, clearly exasperated. "Alec, you wouldn't look like you've been in Fight Night if it wasn't for me." She lays her head on my chest, breathing in shakily before exhaling. "I just don't want you getting her, Alec."
I place a kiss against her forehead. "It's worth getting the hell beat out of you when you're fighting for a good cause. Besides, he hit you- I'm not letting him get away with that. Besides, you should see him. He looks like something from a slasher flick."
Clary smiles grimly before drawing me down to her. She places a kiss against my lips and then she takes my hand, smiling a bright smile. I smile gently. "Hey, I'm proud of you, baby. You did some damage to him, Clare."
"Slammed his hand in a car door as clawed his face- so?" Clary asks.
"That's badass, believe it or not," I reply quietly. Clary chuckles against my chest and I smile. "Wait… My girlfriend's going to be America's next Muhammad Ali!" At that Clary breaks out into horse-laughs that make me laugh along with her.
"You're an ass," Clary says. She pecks me softly on the lips before tugging on my hand. "C'mon, Mom and Dad are going to get more skeptical if they catch us up here." I freeze, giving her a funny look. "Alexander Gideon Lightwood, my father is not going to do anything to you! Stop that! You look like you're going to pee your pants!"
I pale. "Clare, if I die tonight, will you write my eulogy? And, will you testify against your father in court on my behalf?"
Clary rolls her eyes. "Pansy. C'mon, let's go!" I follow the ginger downstairs where the second she sees Valentine, she launches herself at him. Her father instantly hugs her, wrapping her tightly in his arms. Clary truly is Valentine's little princess and he seems to love her… Ah, damn me and my suspicious nature.
"Alec, he wants to say something," Clary says. Her green eyes pinpoint in on me. They set into a nasty glare that makes shivers run down my spine. God, she has Valentine's death glare down to a science. "He isn't going to bite."
I look to Valentine and he gestures me forwards. I gulp, making myself move to him and his dark eyes pinpoint in on me, similar to Clary's. After a few moments he holds his hand out, his glare softening. "Ahh…Alexander. You're a fine young man."
I give Valentine a look. "Ehh…thank you, sir?" I take his hand, squeaking when he squeezes my hand tightly, shaking it. "Mr. Morgenstern, you're breaking my hand." The man chuckles. Clary scowls him and his wife, Jocelyn, laughs.
"I'd never thought I'd see the day that you and Clary would get along," Valentine says. "So…what brought you two together? It had to be something absolutely crazy, surely."
Clary chuckles wildly. "Jace's football uniform. Needless to say he looked pretty damn good in that outfit that night."
Valentine laughs. Jocelyn fusses at Clary for her use of language. "That's my girl. I want to see pictures later, darling." Then Valentine's eyes turn a steely cold. His grip on my hand hardens and he points a finger at me. I feel like a puppy being kicked and screamed at right about now. "As for you, son, you break my daughter's heart, death will be your only relief. Do I make myself clear, son?"
"Yes, Mr. Morgenstern," I say painfully.
Valentine smiles once more. "Then we're on set terms. Watch out for Clary…she tends to get into more trouble than anybody bargains for." He winks at Clary who rolls her eyes. The happy girl bounces over to me, reaching up on her tip toes to whisper in my ear.
"See, I told you Daddy wouldn't kill you!"
I roll my eyes, bending down to whisper back to her. "But he threatened me!"
Clary flicks me upside the head. She skips off into the kitchen and I look to Valentine who only smiles at me. Together we sit down, talking about a thing we both can come to terms on quickly: our shared love for Clary.
Sorry this is so short! I wanted to make this kind of light and funny as far as certain details went. But I hope you enjoyed this and leave me a review! If there is anything you'd like to see, let me know, and I'll see about taking the idea on as a part of the story!
