AN: Hello…I DO NOT OWN ANYTHING RELATED TO FAIRY TAIL!
Chapter 12
Sting stood in front of the guild doors of Fairy Tail, debating with himself as to how he should present himself. 'Should I knock on the door or kick it open? If I knock on it then everyone would stare at me. If I kick it open the outcome would be the same and what if it's the kind of doors that you pull open? I would break the doors. It has latches on it…How do I even enter the guild at Sabertooth?' Sting thought as he was just about to pull his hair out.
"Urgh. Why does this have to so complicated?" Sting muttered under his breath. Lector was also frustrated. They've standing there for at least twenty minutes. He was surprised that no one exited or entered the guild. He decided to speak up.
"Sting what are we doing here? I want to go back home." Lector asked. Sting sighed and gave up.
"I thought it was best if I told the Fairy Tail master about Lucy and how she was doing now. Even if it goes against her wishes." Sting said.
"Then why do we have wait out here?" Lector asked.
"Ummm…You know…" Sting said trying to think of an excuse. If Lector were to find out the real reason then Sting would be a laughing stock. When he finally came up with an excuse Sting leaned against the guild doors. With all his weight on the doors, it opened with Sting falling down on his back. 'Shit.' Sting thought. He quickly got up and saw the familiar faces from the tournament. They were all staring at him. 'I should have just knocked.' Sting thought.
Lucy was thinking so hard and stared at Rogue intently. She grinned at him.
"A pair of jokers equals victory!" Lucy shouted as she placed down her cards. Rogue sighed and placed his cards down. 'I got him now!' Lucy thought.
"Two aces." Rogue said. Lucy's mouth dropped in disbelief.
"What? H-How did you? You…You just got lucky." Lucy said as she stuck her tongue out at Rogue.
"I guess I got lucky the past five games too." Rogue slyly smiled. Lucy frowned. "Another round?" Rogue asked as he started shuffling the cards. Lucy shook her head.
"No. This time I'm shuffling the cards. I know you shuffle them in an order so you can win." Lucy said. Lucy snatched the cards away and began shuffling them. When she finished she carefully tried to sneak a card up her sleeve.
"That's cheating." Rogue said. Lucy growled.
"Fine." Lucy said and smiled to herself. 'I guess I can survive these two days.' Lucy thought.
Sting did not like the stares that he was receiving. It was not like he expecting a welcoming party or anything. They should at least ignore the fact that he was there. It was none of their businesses that he was there. His business was to inform their master about Lucy.
"I'm need to talk to your master. I have a message from Sabertooth." Sting said. The room was filled with silence until Mira, as he remembered walked up to him with a smile. Who could forget the performance that she pulled with Blue Pegasus's beauty, Jenny?
"The master is in his office. I'll escort you to him." Mira said. Sting nodded. Mira began leading him to Makarov. Sting looked around the venue, ignoring the mages in them. 'So this is where Lucy use to be.' He could smell her scent, but noticed that it was fading. Mira stopped all of a sudden and Sting bumped into her.
"Sorry." Sting said. Mira ignored his apology and continued smiling. 'Creepy.' Sting thought.
"This is the master's office." Mira said as she walked away leaving Sting and Lector. Sting stared at the door and dropped his head. 'Not again. Why did that smiling robot leave me to announce myself? Should I knock? This door has a knob…' Sting thought.
"Sting just open the door." Lector said.
"I was going to. I just think it's appropriate to wait fifteen seconds before opening a door." Sting said. He faced the door and reached out to the door knob. The next thing Sting knew there was pain on his face. The door opened on Sting.
"Mira! I need more stamps for the apology letters!" Makarov shouted not aware of Sting.
"Okay!" Mira shouted back. Sting groaned as he placed his hand on his nose. Which he hoped was not broken.
"I hate doors now." Sting said. Makarov turned to him, surprised.
"Eh? Sting Eucliffe?" Makarov said. Sting got back to reality.
"I have to talk to you mister…" Sting looked at the name tag on the 'stupid' door. "Makarov. It's important." Sting said.
"I guess if it's important that you should come all the way here…Come into my office." Makarov said. Sting and Lector followed Makarov. Sting shut the door closed which made Makarov and Lector jump a bit. Makarov cleared his throat and took a seat in his chair. He gestured them to also take seat. Sting lifted Lector up to the chair and sat down on the other chair. There was a small silence. 'How should I start?' Sting thought.
"Well. I wanted to talk to you about Lucy." Sting said. Makarov's eyes widened and was at a loss of words. Before he could ask a hundred questions Sting continued on. "She kind of joined the Sabertooth guild to earn some money, but that didn't turn out so well. I guess you can say that I'm taking care of her now so you don't have to worry about her." Sting explained. Makarov was still shocked to speak, but he finally found his words.
"Th-This sure is a lot to take in right now." Makarov said.
"I just wanted you to know before someone finds this out and reports to you." Sting said. Makarov looked at him.
"You don't know how much this means to me. No, to all of us at Fairy Tail." Makarov said.
"That's also what I wanted to talk about."Sting said.
"What do you mean?" Makarov asked.
"Lucy…She doesn't want anything to do with Fairy Tail or the members right now. She told me that she just needs time before she can come back." Sting said.
"Do you know how much time and what about her children?" Makarov questioned.
"I think she said a few months and she's doing fine." Sting paused for a moment. "The truth is that she's the one that has been taking care of me and she doesn't even know that I'm here."Sting confessed. Makarov smiled. That's Lucy for ya.
"I understand. What was said in this office will stay in this office." Makarov said. Sting stood up ready to leave, but turned to see Mira. 'Shit, the smiling mask woman.' Sting thought as he stepped back a bit. Instead of smiling though Mira had teary expression.
"Lucy." She mumbled before crying. The stamps that were in her hand fell as she wiped away her tears. "Thank you for taking care of her." Mira said between sobs. Sting hated this. Crying girls. He then heard a wine coming from Makarov.
"I couldn't hold it in" Makarov said as he was also crying. Correction, Sting hated crying people in general. "Thank you for taking responsibility of Lucy." Makarov said.
"Sure." Sting said. 'Responsibility? He makes Lucy sound like a child.' Sting thought. "I'm going to go now." Sting said as he exited the room with Lector. Just as he was about to reach the doors he paused. 'Natsu?' Sting thought as looked around. There was no sign of the fire dragon slayer. 'It's just my imagination. I guess.' Sting thought. He sighed. "Time to go back, Lector. We won't be back here for a while." Sting said. Lector nodded.
AN: haha Sting and doors. I hope you enjoyed this CHAPTER. Happy new year!
