Sorry for not updating yesterday. I didn't have a chance to get online to do it since the only computer I can use is the library's, and they were closed for the Fourth of July.

This one takes place the same time as the last. Instead of it being Tori's POV, it's Jade's. The next chapter continues on where this one leaves off.

Disclaimer: 'VicTORious' and it's characters are not mine, the original 'Try To Forget' is xBadeTrainx's, same with Jason. Though I changed the name of Jade's son.

Jade POV

I watch as Tori leaves the apartment, stunned at her actions.

'What was that all about?' I ask myself, confused by what just happened. 'Why did she say 'high school Jade' the way she did?'

I stare in the same spot, staring at the door, waiting for something, anything to happen. After a few minutes of nothing, I grab my phone, wanting to make sense of things.

"Hello?" I hear from the other end, sounding distracted.

"What were you and Tori talking about a few moments ago?" I ask, cutting to the chase.

"Jade?" Cat asks, confused.

"Yes Cat. It's me, Jade. Now tell me what you and Tori were talking about, now." I demand, clenching my teeth.

"It's not for me to say. You'll have to talk to her." Cat says, tone calm. "How did you know Tori and I were talking?" She asks, changing the subject.

"I walked in the door and heard her. She said your name." I say, getting angrier.

"Sorry Jade. If she wants you to know, she'll tell you." She says, sounding tired for some reason. "Talk to her. And don't let your old anger issues take over. 'High school Jade' won't help you." She says, hanging up.

'What is it with everyone calling me 'high school Jade' today?' I ask myself, staring at my phone.

Deciding to put the whole Tori thing behind, I sit down and put in a movie I haven't seen since before Jason was born, 'The Scissoring'. After finishing it, I head out, deciding to grab lunch since I haven't eaten since breakfast. As I walk down the hall to the elevator, I stop when I see who's getting off the elevator.

"Now what do you want Beck?" I snarl, glaring at him.

"Wow, never thought I'd see the old you." He starts with a smile. "Does that mean that the old Jade, the one that still loves me, is in there still?" He asks, giving me a small smile.

'Is that what Tori meant by calling me 'high school Jade' earlier?' I ask myself, staring at Beck. Something Tori told Cat over the phone strikes me as I stare at Beck. 'I know she still has feeling for him. I could see it in her eyes when we first saw him at the apartment lobby.' That phrase hits hard, now that I think about it.

"Hello? Jade? You there?" Beck asks, knocking me out of my thoughts. "Can we talk in private?" He asks when I seem to be back in the conversation.

"No. I'm going to get some food. If you follow me, I'll stab you with my scissors. Leave me, Jason, and Tori alone. Understood?" I tell him, walking past him and entering the elevator, pushing the 'door close' button repeatedly.

"Jade, come on. You know me. You know I'll be a good dad to Jason." Beck says, following me into the elevator.

"No, I don't know you." I say, turning to face him now that the doors have closed. "If I knew you, then how come I didn't see you kicking me out?" I ask, glaring at him.

"I told you. I thought you did it on purpose." He says, facing me fully.

"Oh, and that just makes it better?" I ask incredulously. "Apparently, you don't know me if you think I would do something like that to you." I say, purposely throwing in the song I sang at the Full Moon Jam back in high school.

"Back then, you were a dark person. I never knew what you would do to get what you want." He says, eyes pleading with me.

"Too late." I say when the doors open. "You had your chance to know my son, and you blew it when you called my pregnancy a ploy to keep you, to ruin your career." I say, walking out. "If he comes here again, and Tori or I didn't invite him, call the cops." I tell the concierge as I walk past.

Walking towards the diner from earlier, I ignore everything around me, wanting to forget about Beck.

Arriving at the diner, I inadvertently sit at the same table as this morning. With how much Tori, Jason, and I come here, I don't even need a menu. I just tell the waitress, one of the regular ones for us, to get my usual, which she does a moment later.

Sitting in the booth, I stare at the blank table, Tori's conversation with Cat, my conversations with Beck today, and Tori's admittance at this very table, while I wait for my food and coffee. A few minutes later, the waitress, Monica, returns with my coffee, two sugar packets, a stirring stick, and a Veggie burrito.

"Anything else, or just the usual?" Monica asks as she hands me my plate.

"can I get an order of french fries too?" I ask her, adding the sugar to my coffee and stirring it.

"Sure. I'll be back in a moment." Monica says, heading back to the kitchen after writing down the order.

After she drops off the fries, I sit in silence and eat my burrito and fries, occasionally drinking my coffee. About fifteen minutes later, I finish the coffee and food. Standing up, I set money on the table, under the coffee cup, and a quick note on a napkin telling Monica to keep the change, since it's only a three dollar and change tip.

Walking back towards the apartment, I see something I never thought I'd see. Outside of the apartment is Beck, a foot or two in front of Tori, talking. What's worth, the smile on Beck's face isn't good.

"What the hell did I tell you no more than an hour ago?" I growl out at him, glaring from where I stand.

Another cliffhanger. Sorry. I really like using them apparently.

As I said above, next chapter continues where this left off. We will see what Beck and Tori were talking about.
