Chapter Non-Date? Date

Red Fountain

"Why are you reading that?" Riven asked Timmy as the poor guy reread, "Guys Guide to Getting The Girl". Riven could not prevent the shiver that ran down his every time he read the title.

"Its very informative!" Timmy defended what he recently had come to call the 'Golden Chalice Manliness'.

"But how is it gonna help you open your mouth and ask Tecna out?"Riven sneered as he polished his helmet, please that Timmy still had yet to find a way around that question, to actually do the job. Seeing as he had bought the book when, They all went to visit Sky and Brandon at the start of summer.

Timmy opened his mouth then shut it quickly. He flung the book in the nearby trashcan along with the notes he had taken on the book. "I think I'll ask Helia for some advice." he mused leaning back in his chair.

"Naaa, just walk up to her and ask 'Wanna see a movie with me?'. See, you can't get any easier than that, man." Riven told him without malice.

Timmy raised his brow and ask "When do you plan on asking Musa, Mr. you-can't-get-any-easier?" He smile as Riven growled in response.

Riven made an exaggerated show of clearing his throat but was saved from answering as Helia blew through their dorm to bang on the wall that separated their dorm from Sky and Brandon's dorm. "Dude, where's the fire?" Riven asked as Helia's banged response got a reply.

"Nowhere, why do you ask?" Helia asked setting himself on the edge of Timmy's computer deck.

"Cause you're acting like you just escaped from a high security prison." Timmy inserted, "how was the 20 mile run?"

"Oh, sorry, I…" He turned to look at Timmy slightly concerned, "Timmy, you do know that I wasn't on a run, right?" He asked slowly as if approaching a mentally unstable person.

"Yeah, I just want to keep your cover. So, how was it?" He continued without any preamble.

"Yeah, it was fine. I ran into Flora…

"Flora? I thought the girls were on Earth visiting Bloom's parents." Riven interjected.

"They are. Well, most of them are. Flora didn't want to skip classes." Helia replied, "As I was saying I ran into Flora as she was going to class and we got to talking…"

"See I told, you" Riven interrupted, as Sky and Brandon came in.

Helia ignored him and continued on, "And somehow we got to talking about dinner and I asked her if she wanted to get a pizza with us…" he finished and looked around at the guys, who were all giving him looks of dismay.

Then Riven said, "And you want to ask him for advice about asking a girl out, sheesh. He just asked Flora to a dinner with the guys! That is not a date. That is a disaster!"

Brandon nodded, "Helia, we can't be a bumper for you when it comes to Flora, if things go south on this pizza date, Stella would skin me!"

"Not to mention Tecna would never return my E-mails." Timmy explained.

"Bloom would be furious if Flora got hurt!" Sky said.

"Musa, well, Musa doesn't talk to me anyhow but it could affect any chances of her saying 'yes' if I ask her out." Riven mumbled.

"Or everything goes fine and you guys' girls would be happy to know that their best friend didn't have to sit alone in the dining hall, while they ate with one another on Earth." Helia said giving them another option to think about, "And I doubt any of you guys knows one thing about Flora that does not have to do with her powers. Take it as a chance to get to know Flora. I'm sure the girls would appreciate that, just as much." Helia defended.

"Weeelll, when you put it that way, you can count me in." Timmy said.

"IF it makes Stella happy, I'm in." Brandon joined, leaving the room to get ready.

"Guess, you can add me to the list."Sky said clapping his hand on Helia's shoulder and followed shortly after Brandon.

"You owe me for this…" Was all Riven said, as he was changing out of sweats.

"Thanks guys! I'll call Flora and tell her we'll be by to pick up her at 6." Helia said fleeing the room with reignited gusto.

"He's got it bad." Riven mumbled as he plotted back down on his bed.

"Yep…" Timmy said as he shut down his computer for the night, "I'm still gonna ask him…" Riven's pillow came to hit him in the head.

Alfea

10 minutes to 6'o clock

"What if he forgets about it?" Flora panicked into the phone.

"He won't the guys will be with him." Layla soothed from the other end of the phone.

"But what if He…"

Layla interrupted her panicked filled rant, "He won't Flora! Now, no more 'ifs', 'ands' or 'Buts', you, Flora are going to eat pizza with the guys and your crush. So, calm down and be yourself. Everything will be fine. The guys will make sure of it, I'm positive." Layla was really good at calming Flora, which was really surprising since Flora was always calm no matter how bad things got.

"Okay, I'll try…" Flora said without much enthusiasm.

"THERE IS NO TRY! BUT DO FLORA!" She shouted throught the speaker piece, making Flora yank the phone away from her ear.

"Yes, ma'am" Flora saluted, causing Layla to chuckle.

"Good luck, Flora. Relax and have a good time." The girls cheered.

"You heard them. Love ya, Flora, bye!" Layla hung up before Flora could continue her rant.

Flora look down at her watch, it was now five minutes to six and knowing that made her break out in a cold sweat. She had been out with the boys before sure the rest of the girls were usually there but Flora had never actually had a conversation with four boys that her friends were involved with. Apart from those times when, they discussed battle strategies, or a mere hello as she passed them. They had never actually spoken.

Flora knew a bit here and there about the guys but they never knew a thing about her till this year. till she wiped the floor with them in class, then they had to take notice of her…

Suddenly, the road was flooded with light and five leva-bikes were heading her way. They came early, she thought as she signaled to them with a wave. And each returned the greeting with a quick swipe to the air.

The boys came to a stop in front of her. Helia was the only one to lift his visor, "You ready?" he handed her sleek silver helmet.

"You bet!" She exclaimed. Helia slid forward on the bike to make room for her. She quickly climbed trying not to let him hear drumming of beating heart. She was surprised that it burst from her chest in a heart-shape expansion of her chest. '

"Hold on tight to me!" He said as the lurched forward and than they breezing down the road, her nerves forgotten for the moment.

"So, we hear you're joining us for guys night." She heard Sky voice come from the mic in her helmet.

"No, Duh, dude that's why we picked her up." Riven said, couldn't hear it but she woukd bet the all groaning.

"Nice going Riven!" Timmy said, " Way to make her feel welcome."

"Yeah, man! the wolves that raised you had better manners than that." Brandon retorted.

"Ya, know she can hear!" Flora bantered on between the guys' jabs.

"Sorry, Flora!" Timmy said.

"Yeah, we're really sorry about that Flora!" Brandon put in.

"Whatever…" was Riven's reply, again she could feel the shuddering groan reverberate through the guys, again and couldn't help but laugh.

Wind ripped through her long flowing hair that peeked out of the bottom of her helmet. As they finial made it to the pizzeria. Helia was as nervous as a cat in a rocking chair factory. Even with the others around, there were chances they would end up alone at some point.

"It looks like the place has a full house tonight!" Riven glancing around the pizzeria, will be about thirty minutes wait, is that alright with you?"

"Yeah, no problem, ma'am." Brandon cut in before Riven retorted.

"Whatever, I'm gonna hit the arcade while you, guys wait." Riven said heading for the noisy arcade room in the corner.

"Okay…" Timmy said looking between Helia, Flora, and the arcade, "I think I will too!" Then he scampered away to the arcade, quickly followed by the others.

"You can go with the others if you want…" Flora said not quite meeting his eyes. "I can wait for a table to open up."

"Nah, I'm good." Helia said not wanting to leave her side for a minute and miss a chance at getting to know his lovely flower fairy. He was already calling her his and he had yet to ask her on a proper date. While they were technically on one right now, but chaperoned, he thought looking toward the arcade seeing Sky and Brandon watching them covertly. "It wouldn't be fair to you." He replied trying to get Sky and Brandon to cut it out.

"Its alright, I don't mind." They could hear Riven loudly ribbing Sky, as new song began to play over the speakers

I see the world for you and me
I hear a perfect harmony
Where you are is where I'm gonna be
I'm gonna be...

Helia looked around and noticed that in the far corner of the restaurant couples were slow dancing on a small dance floor. He looked back at Flora and silently offer her his hand. As she looked into his eyes, the room seemed to come alive with electricity so tense and vital with an exciting jolt.

Forever, could never be enough
Together, it's all I need for us
When the rain is pouring down
And there's no else around
I'll be your shelter now

She took his silently offered hand and let him lead her out to the dance floor. They seemed to glide around the dance floor. She felt like Cinderella at the ball dancing with her prince.

And I'll be the one
You can run to
I'll be the one
Who's meant to love you now...
And always till our days are through

Helia could feel the heat that pulsed between them. The very force of it nearly knock the breath from him. He enjoyed holding Flora's slender body in his arms.

You know I do
You know I do
Time to say the words
Never been so sure
Wanna spend my life with you

From where they stood in the waiting room, Sky, Brandon, Riven and Timmy watched as their friend fell hard for Flora and likewise she for him.

"Should we tell the girls?" Timmy asked as he watched Helia twirl Flora.

"Do you want to be interrogated on everything we just witnessed? Especially by Stella!" Riven asked staring at the young geek as if he grew two heads.

"Not particularly…" Timmy replied without preamble.

"There's your answer." Sky said, "Let the girls figure it out. It's no fun for them if we tell them." They continued to watch as Helia dipped Flora elegantly and Flora giggling. "Besides she'll tell them all about tonight. In some way that will get their wheels turning."

There's a match for every heart
There's a light for every dark
With you I found my counter part
My counter part

Helia couldn't believe his luck being back at red fountain wasn't as bad as he thought. He risked getting closer to Flora by bring his hand to her lower back. And gently bring her toward him.

Forever, could never be enough
Together, it's all I need for us
When the rain is pouring down
And there's no else around
I'll be your shelter now
Ohh

Flora couldn't believe where Helia had moved his hand it was a very intimate gesture that left only an inch or two between them. She could feel his hot heavy breath brush her neck as if it was the most sensual of caresses.

And I'll be the one
you can run to
I'll be the one
Who's meant to love you now...
And always till our days are through

The song faded out and was replace with Shake Your Groove Thing. Helia walked her back over to the waiting room where the rest of the guys sat preoccupied with their phones.

"Still no table?" She asked the lot just shook their heads. "I know a place that serves hot dogs and Hamburgers till midnight. Anyone up for it?" All four guys shot of their chairs and were half way to the door before they realize the two hadn't followed. Turning around to find both Helia and Flora shocked into erratic laugher.

"I guess," Flora choked out, "was a yes!"

"Without a doubt." Helia said as they regained their composure and followed them out. She led them to the park. Where in the very middle of the park was a food truck. "It has any type of food you could think of for a different day of the week. Its Americano tonight."

Two Hours Later

Helia drove Flora home, after the best non-date he ever had. He kept replaying the nights events over and over again. The dancing, laughing, and tell stories about each other. Helia never felt happier or sadder now that the night was coming to a close.

As the gate of Alfea grew nearer, the weight on his chest grew heavier. He stopped the leva bike out front, "Guess this is your stop." He said as she climbed off the bike.

"Yep, I had fun tonight, Helia, thanks for inviting me!" She said smiling at him. "Maybe we can do it again next week same time?"

"I'd like that, But how about we skip the restaurant and go straight to the food truck?" He teased.

"Fine by me! See, ya in class." She replied back and race for the gates.

Helia watched cause hey, she'd be pretty to watch coming or going, he was only human after all. He watched till she disappeared inside Alfea, than waited till the light went on in her dorm. After a night he just had he couldn't to be in her class room again. Helia took off into the night his thoughts and heart filling with Flora.

To Be Continued….
