Chapter 12: Make Me Forget.
Kale's P.O.V.
I watched my hands start to shake violently and my senses grew. Releasing a strangled breath and glancing over at Jane. Falling onto my back and groaning out in hunger.
"Make it stop Jane..." I whispered hoarsely.
"I can't! You just had to drink her blood!" she shouted.
Grasping my throat and scrapping at my skin, desperate to rid of the hunger. After Leaving Bella's house, my ever-growing hunger was sated for days. But with the lack of ingesting blood, my body was craving more and more, preferably Bella's blood.
"I could bring back a human for you," Jane said irritably.
"Anything!"
I watched her sit up from the couch and walk toward the door, her figure growing dimmer. The closing of the door was a defeating sound to my ears. I then finally managed to stand up on my feet and make my way to the kitchen. Gripping the handle of the refrigerator and yanking it open, reaching inside and grabbing the remaining blood bags. Gripping the smooth plastic between my fingers and biting into the plastic. The sensation of blood overflowed my senses and I could feel myself come crashing down from my hunger. I quickly finished off the rest of the blood and tossed the shredded plastic into the waste basket.
"I see that your habits haven't gotten any better," a voice suddenly said through the darkness of the room.
"What are you doing here, Aro?" I spat out.
"Checking up on your status with the girl," Aro commented and glanced at me.
"It's complicated," I mumbled.
"You sound like a teenager, I think she's gotten to you."
"How would that be possible?" I argued.
"From what Jane has reported, but then again I can't complain. She trusts you more than her werewolf friend," Aro explained.
"So I've noted," I said and looked at Aro.
A wide smile then spreads across his face, "I remember stating in my instructions to you, that you must not get involved with her, but I've changed my mind, " he explained.
"That's wrong," I stated loudly.
"It is, but then again, this whole plan is beyond wrong," Aro pointed out.
"I won't go through with this! Her life is already-"
Aro suddenly lashed out and grabbed my jaw painfully between his fingers, "You have no choice Kale! You're lucky you are even alive now. Just give this plan time and you can leave Bella at peace, "Aro hissed lowly into my ear.
His grip around my jaw tighten before he released me and put several feet of distance between us, "I have to get going now. I'll have a few more guards here, to make sure you actually keep your part of the plan intact," Aro said before walking away from me.
I looked into the mirror and sighed, my whole life was wrong. What is the true purpose of this plan? Ever since I drank Bella's blood, I've been lost with no direction. I glanced into the rear view mirror of the car and checked my reflection. Running a hand through my hair and brushing away the hair covering my eyes. My ears then picked up the familiar heart beat, my eyes instantly looked outside the car window and spotted Bella walking from her car. I gripped the handle and wrenched it open and climbing out of the car and into the cold winter air.
Shutting the car door and strolling closer to Bella. Tapping her shoulder and gaining her attention.
"Hey Bella," I mumbled.
"Hi, Kale."
"Sorry if I've avoided you, I just needed to think," she said right after her greeting me.
I frowned and nodded my head, "no it's fine, completely fine," I answered quickly.
"Are you doing anything after school?" I blurted out awkwardly.
Gosh I really do feel like a teenager, I thought hopelessly.
She tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear, "no, I'm going home, but you can come over, " she said surprised.
Bella sat next to me, her eyes averted to the TV in front of us. A bowl of popcorn was placed in her lap and her feet were resting comfortably on the coffee table in front of us. I had my arm placed on the back of the couch, my hand nearly touching the fabric covering her shoulder.
This feels very strange, way too causal, I thought.
Her body was warmer than usual, my senses were peaking, and my fangs were already growing inside my mouth. My eyes darted down to her exposed neck and I gulped inwardly. My body was already craving for her blood, my thoughts so use to the idea of regularly taking blood from her. Her heart rate started to climb as the movie grew closer toward its climax.
I stood up, "I'm gonna grab something from the kitchen, want anything?" I started to ask as I stepped in the direction of the kitchen.
She looked up at me, a contemplating look etched onto her features, "yea, water, please."
Nodding my head in response and striding toward the refrigerator and easily opening the appliance. Quickly grabbing a water bottle and shutting close the fridge. I peaked inside the living room, making sure that Bella was distracted by the movie. Placing the bottle on the counter and shakily reaching into my sweater pocket and slipping out a disposable blood bag. Quietly and quickly as possible, I bit into the plastic and took huge gulps of the blood. The blood flowed nicely into my mouth and down my throat, calming my tenses muscles. Carefully wrapping up the blood bag in a plastic bag and tossing it away in the waste basket.
Foot steps walking into the kitchen, brought back down to reality, "You alright?" Bella asked as she drew closer to me.
Nodding my head, "uh yea," I muttered and brushed my hand through my hair.
She nodded her head, "well the movie ended. Do want to watch anything else?"
I crossed my arms over my chest, "Sure, whatever you pick out, I'll watch."
Bella mulled over the idea, but opted for sitting on the dining chair placed awkwardly in the cramped kitchen. Following her lead and placing myself in a chair across from her. I glanced at her, noticing how her lower lip was wedged between her teeth. Her hair was pulled up and she was dressed comfortably.
"You know, Edward finally responded to my email," Bella started saying and looked over at me.
Leaning back into my seat and digesting the information, "when?" I asked.
Bella's eyes grew slightly watery, "yesterday. I sent it out the same day he left and that was over a year ago..." she whispered softly,"he thought I died and that he misses me, just a ton of useless stuff. How much he loves me and now he hates himself for leaving," she babbled and dropped her gaze to the table.
"Bella did you reply?" I began to ask, "did you answer his email?" I finished.
She clasped her hands together, "I didn't, I thought it would be best if I didn't reply, him coming back isn't worth anything. I didn't suffer for months for it to all be ruined with his sudden appearance in my life again," Bella mused gently.
I stood up and moved around the table, taking a seat next to Bella, "whatever you feel is right."
A few tears fell from her eyes, "I can't...take it anymore!" she sobbed and dropped her head onto my shoulder.
Placing my arm around her and rubbing circles across the skin of her wrist, hopelessly trying to calm her down, "Bella...just forget about it," I started to say, "Just do anything to make Edward disappear from your head," I murmured into her ear.
Bella's arms suddenly wounded around my torso and she buried her head into my chest. I winced slightly, still not completely use to full human contact. I just kinda sat there and pressed my hand against her back, rubbing circles into her back muscles.
Why am I being so comforting toward her?! I should be giving her the cold shoulder and tell her to just forget about him!
"You're right when you always told me to just forget," she mumbled into my shirt, "but it's kinda hard when I actually loved Edward," she confirmed softly.
"I did tell you that," I replied coolly, "I told you countless times and I can tell when you're thinking about him too," I explained.
Bella removed her face from my chest and stared me straight in the eye, "I hate myself to that know that you were right to," she admitted, "but it wasn't your business in the first place to say anything," she argued.
I could my anger boil inside me, reaching up, I gripped Bella's jaw hard between my fingers, "say what you need to say, Bella. But your relationship with Edward isn't healthy," I growled harshly at her.
"How would you know!?" she screamed, her expression baffled from what I said.
"I can tell! Can you see how you've acted these pass months! Your grief was like that of a family member dying!" I muttered sarcastically.
Bella's eyes released several tears, "you're lying!" she grunted and punched my chest, "you're lying! How could I possibly act like that!?" she screamed in outrage.
"Bella you act selfishly! Putting your friends in danger just because your feeling got the best of you!" I stated.
Moving my hand from her jaw and tangling that hand into her hair and pulling our faces closer together, "trust when I say those words. Bella I want you to get better," I admitted, "I want you to live normally and forget all about him, he's holding you back from so many things!"
Bella hesitantly placed her hands on my shoulders, her face twisting with confusion and temptation. Her warm breath was hitting my mouth and I could feel, feel, her heart beat increase. Reaching up with my free hand and skimming the length of her neck, stopping at her shoulder. Our lips touched, and I feel my fangs stabbing my gums. Bella pressed her mouth fully against my, but I'm so ready to just sink my teeth into her neck and just...just...
"Bella?" an all too familiar voice echoed through out the small house.
I yanked Bella away from me and stared hatefully at the person behind her, "You," I hissed under my breath.
"Bella? Who is that?" he asked, and I watched as Bella froze and slowly turned in her seat.
"Edward?" she cried softly and staggered from her seat.
"Oh my god...you're alive," Edward whispered painfully and reached out and grasped Bella's forearms.
"Edward!" Bella answered more loudly, "I thought you were gone," she continued and wrapped her arms around his neck.
"Alice was right," he mumbled and pressed his forehead against her's, "Alice was right," he continued to say until he was full on kissing her mouth.
Bella responded instantly to the kiss and lost herself. I stood up and watched the scene unfold before me, my stomach twisted. She would do this! Every minute spend with her was wasted right at this moment.
"Fuck...how I know how Jacob feels," I said out loud, "this whole thing is bull shit!" I yelled.
I watched as they both pulled back from each other and Edward finally met my eyes, "you look familiar," was all he managed to say.
"Whatever. You two can enjoy each others fucking company!" I said bemusedly, "just keep messing her up Edward!"
"Kale..." Bella finally managed to utter, "don't be like this, I was-"
"Bella...just shut up!" I yelled and jabbed a finger in her direction, "you were fucking miserable for months! Here he is now and YOU WELCOME HIM WITH OPEN ARMS!" I yelled in outrage.
"Hey! You can-"
I brought up my fist and shook it, "I would punch that ugly face of yours, but I'm a sane person, Edward," I said and grumbling his name in disdain.
"Get out!" Edward snapped and stepped in front of Bella.
"I'm leaving! Bye Bella, you're never seeing from me again!" I yelled bemusedly in her direction and left the house, making sure to slam the door.
Edward coming back put the story together
