Chapter 12: Consequences
A/N: Hey everyone, I just wanted to give an message on how The Rise of Enderlox will be updated. There will be updates every Friday, so that you guys can have the weekend to read the latest chapters and leave reviews because recently I notice that there are fewer reviews coming in, but I know it's just because of school.
So, I've decided that every Friday, there will be a new chapter from here on out. Unless something interferes with the update, a new chapter will be brought up during the weekend. So with that out of the way, enjoy the latest chapter!

The next day came by, and once again, every recruit are set into alert mode and scan their surroundings carefully ever since Enderlox attacked them on the ship. In the main lobby, a couple dozen of recruits whisper to each other as they discuss what they're doing to protect themselves. When Via enters the lobby, almost everyone stiffen and turn their heads towards the doors. "Relax, guys. It's just me", Via said, stepping into the lobby and begins walking through the lobby. Despite this, some of the recruits keep their stiffen forms and look with scared eyes at the woman.
When Via looks ahead, she sees Sierra, Aver, and Alix standing near the opposite side of the lobby. Via makes her way through the crowd and reaches them. "Hey guys", Via introduced, Sierra and Alix wave their hands while Aver whispers out the same gesture. "Hey, have you guys noticed that lately, all of the recruits have been acting a bit too paranoid?", Via questioned, looking around herself to emphasis the point she is saying. Aver exclaims "Why wouldn't we?! For Notch's sake, there's a dragon hybrid that used to be Ty on the loose and he's already hurt one of us! We're all gonna die!"
"Aver, will you stop saying that?!", Sierra asked in agitation. "We aren't going to die! We're just in a situation where everyone is just scared that something terrible is going to happen, and you saying that is not going to make things any easier".
Alix interrupts by saying "I don't know, I mean...what if Aver's right? What if we are going to die from another one of Enderlox's attack on us?"
"Come on, Alix. Don't be ridiculous", Sierra stated, glancing over at the half-bionic Minecrafter. "We're a 8 million strong army. Nothing can stop us from protecting the land". Alix sighs as he rubs the bionic part of his face with his normal human hand before saying "I don't know...after everything that taken place, I don't feel safe in this ship anymore". Aver looks away in guilt, having been reminded of what events had taken place a few days before. His red eyes shone in despair, standing next to his less than normal friend. His operation had made him 50% human, 50% robot, and he wouldn't be like this if he hadn't try to fight Enderlox.
Alix glances over at his devil-like friend, seeing his sadden body language, and states "Aver, it's alright. My accident wasn't your fault. Besides, at least Oceanus took the chip out of me so I can't lose it and hurt any of my friends". Aver glances ever so slowly at him and rebuts "Yeah, but you wouldn't be a half an android if I hadn't interfered. If anyone needs me, I'll be off to...think over my choices".
Aver drags his feet across the floor as he begins to exit the lobby, leaving his friends to stare at him in sadness as the recruit drags himself out of the door. Via sighs before saying "Poor Aver...he feels so guilty about what you did to save him, Alix". The bionic man turns to Via and replies "Well, I couldn't stand to think about him getting hurt. Despite our differences, I just had to sacrifice myself".
"Well...that was very brave of you, Alix", Via commented. Alix nods at her, but then, he starts looking around in panic when a sudden darkness begins to dim the light coming through the windows. All of the recruits in the lobby start shouting in fear as they scuffle around with their feet. They glance around the room in panic, wondering what was causing the light to sudden disappear. Some of the recruits are scared enough out of their senses and run out of the lobby to get away from the potential danger that might be coming.
At that moment, only Via, Alix, and Sierra are the only ones left in the room, along with a few recruits who are brave enough to stay behind and wield out their weapons. Sierra asks in panic "What's going on?! Why did the light outside suddenly go dark?" Via cautiously approaches one of the large windows and peers out, taking a glimpse outside. "Uh...guys? I think you better look at this", Via said unsurely. Alix and Sierra approach the window and look out, gaping at the sight.
Outside, storm clouds gather and spin around each other in the sky. The once clear and blue sky is quickly shrouded into darkness, the Blood Moon appears in the already darkening sky and lets loose its red light. Stars even begin to appear, glowing faintly in the ominous darkness. "What the heck is going on? It was morning at one point, and now it's nighttime!?", Sierra exclaimed in shock, then gazes down the window and gasps when she sees mobs beginning to appear. Creepers spawn from behind trees, but they looked extremely different.
Instead of their usual green color, they are colored black and purple eyes. They hiss and flash light-purple as they start making their way towards the aircraft. Zombies crawled and pulled themselves from the ground, but colored with the same color palette as the creepers. Endermen teleport out of nowhere, looking more buffer and taller than they usually do. They teleport away for a moment, then reappear back with skeletons, with a darker color than their usual light-gray color. The corrupted Endermen place the skeletons down and watch them begin to walk away with enchanted bows or swords in their arms.
The mobs slowly make their way towards the ship and along the way, each step they take makes the grass beneath their feet turn into a sickish purplish color. Sierra, Alix, and Via look in shock as the Tainted mobs make their way dangerously closer to the ship. "We're so fucked", Alix stuttered out after a brief silence.
"I need to alert Sky about this! I'll be right back!", Via exclaimed, then quickly turns and summons out her dark-colored wings. She takes off in a second, zooming through the doors and out to the hallways. Sierra and Alix watch the woman fly out of their sights, then turn their attention back to the oncoming mobs outside of the ship. Sierra sighs in worry, then feels someone gently grab her hand. She glances over and sees Alix had grasped her hand, giving her a warm smile. Sierra returns the smile, but quickly loses it when she glances back at the window.
Meanwhile, Via flies through the hallways as fast as her wings can carry her. A couple of recruits duck down quickly as the winged woman glides over them. They look in shock before Via disappears out of their sights. Via glances around as she continues to fly for a while before reaching the main control room where the ship is controlled. She lands on her feet and pushes the doors open, immediately seeing Sky standing their one of the large windows, his back turned to her.
"Sky!", Via exclaimed as she darts into the room and reaches up to the commander. "There's mobs outside heading towards the ship, but they look weird! It's like they're infected with Taint!"
"You're telling me", Sky replied, glancing over his shoulder and looks at Via. "The Taint has spread faster than I thought it would. There's no doubt in my mind that this is my best friend's doing...or...was my best friend's doing". Via sighs as the commander lowers his head in defeat. Then, she says "Well, I gotta get the ship away from this area. It's too dangerous!"
Adam replies with "You're right, Via. Just hang on to something. Things are gonna get bumpy". The God of Minecrafter makes his way over to the steering controls and presses a big red button. Outside of the ship, the engines beneath the ship start up with a loud blast of fire, causing a few of the Tainted mobs to be blown back from the blast or be burnt into a crisp. Then, the ship slowly begins to ascend into the air. The mobs gaze up as the ship rises higher and higher until it disappears through the dark clouds.
Once in the air, Adam shifts a couple of levers and begins to steer the ship forward, keeping his eyes focused in the window view of the ship. Via gulps in fear as she grips a nearby railing tightly, feeling the ship suddenly experience turbulence for a couple of moments. "We might have to fly through a couple of storms right now. I hope everyone is inside the ship", Sky muttered to himself, turning the wheel slightly to the right.
Meanwhile, at the upper deck of the ship, recruits look at each other in confusion after feeling the ship ascend into the air and clouds glide closely over their heads. Then, the ship is hit with a strong of cold wind, making the aircraft tilt to the left. Several recruits are thrown off their feet while some manage to keep themselves up from the sudden and unexpected movement. Once the turbulence quickly ends, the recruits start rushing off the upper deck and make a desperate dash towards the doors that led inside. Recruits run through the narrow doors, some of them pushing each other aggressively without care for one another.
Once the recruits make it inside, some of them either retreat back into their rooms or go to the main lobby to watch over other recruits currently in the lobby. Back at the control room, Sky tries to keep the ship steady as more gusts of wind causes the ship is greatly tilt to the right, causing a few items in the control room to be thrown across the room. Via yelps when she is thrown into the air and tightens her grip on the railing. Sky quickly spins the wheel the opposite direction, quickly making the ship tilt back to its original position in the air. Via is tilted back to the floor, the woman hyperventilating quickly as she is placed back on the floor.
"We're passing through the storm! I don't think we're going to make it through without someone getting hurt", Sky exclaimed, looking over to Via who does the same thing and looks back at the commander. Suddenly, a flash of bright light shines through the window. Via shields her eyes from the sudden light, then hears a booming sound of thunder erupt outside. "Sky, we need to get out of the storm!", Via cries out, loosening her grip on the railing and runs over to the commander.
"I'm trying! But the wind won't-", Sky suddenly gets cut-off when a bolt of lighting strikes down and hits the ship. The controls abruptly shut off and the ship begins to tilt forward. Sky quickly presses the button to turn the ship back on, but the button is temporarily stunned by the blast of electricity. "The ship won't turn back on! We're going down!", Sky exclaimed, gripping the front of the wheel as he tries to pull the wheel up. Via grabs the commander by his arm in fear as she gazes through the window and starts to faintly see the ground only 100 meters and counting down.
"We're gonna die! Someone, HELP!", Via yells out, desperately for some type of miracle to happen.
Suddenly, the feeling of the ship falling towards the ground slows down to a stop. Sky and Via are confused by the sudden feeling and look out the window. They gasp in shock when the view of the window shows the ground only a foot away and being held by a magical force from a person standing in the very center of the window view. Sky stutters out "S-S...Seto?!"
-5 minutes earlier-
About a few minutes before the ship went down, in the potions' room, Nero stares at the mirror in front of him. He takes a few minutes to look over his new appearance since he had let the Taint take control of his body. As he straightens out his hood, the same voice he heard before talks to him in his head. "How do you feel, sorcerer?", the voice asked with a hiss.
"I feel...powerful. I feel ten times the Minecrafter I was before", Nero said back, glaring at his reflection with an evil smirk. The voice tells him "Exactly the way you should feel".
"Question is...when can I use my new profound powers?", Nero questioned, looking at his hand as he summons an Ender sphere in his hands, watching the magical flames dance around. The voice tells him "In all due time, sorcerer. In all due time...". Suddenly, Nero is pushed back when he feels the ship tilt slightly. He looks around in confusion as he states "What the Nether?" The sorcerer turns towards the nearest window and pads over to it. When he glances outside, he sees that the ship is no longer on the ground and is in the air, a storm brewing right outside the walls of the ship.
Nero uses his new teleportation powers and disappears in a smoke of purple magic. Moments later, he appears at the very edge of a nearby cliff and watches the airship be rocked left and right by the strong winds stirred up by the storm clouds. Nero looks with no expression as the voice in his head states "Look at the ship being tortured by the storm. Gee, it would be such a tragedy if something bad were to happen...would you agree, Nero?"
The corrupted sorcerer smirks as he states "Yeah, and no one would be alive to know that it was caused by me". He lifts up one of his hands and his eyes flash a bright shade blue, causing a powerful bot of thunder to be summoned from the clouds and strike the ship, causing power to be completely shut-down and paralyzed. Nero lowers his hand and his eyes reverted to their normal purple color as he watches the aircraft being to head towards the ground, sensing the fear radiating from inside the ship.
"Excellent work, sorcerer. Now...we watch and enjoy the sight of millions dying from the ship", the voice echoed in Nero's mind. The Minecrafter chuckles in amusement before saying "I'm gonna enjoy this". Suddenly, the sorcerer groans in pain as he grabs his head and shake it furiously. When he opens his eyes, they are back to their normal brown color again. It was Seto again instead of Nero.
"What-what happened?!", the sorcerer said in shock, unaware that he is the only one outside of the crashing ship. He look towards the horizon and gapes in complete shock when he sees the Butter Craft Airship heading towards the ground. "NO!", Seto yelled in panic. He teleports from the cliff and appears in the middle of a field biome, glancing up and sees the ginormous view of the ship falling right towards him. Seto takes in a deep breath, and summons all of the power of his telekinesis powers.
A strong glow erupt from his hands and a pair of blue streams of magic shoot towards the ship, spreading all across the ship upon contact with the front of the ship. In a few seconds, the entire ship is being held within the magical grasp of the sorcerer, surrounded by a protective force field of magic. Seto groans in agonizing pain as he extends the force of his magic to the very edge of what he can handle.
But with all of his power, he gently lowers the ship until the very bottom of it rests upon the land. Once the ship is completely on the ground, he ceases his magic and collapses to the ground, deprived of all of his power at that moment.
-5 minutes later-
Sky and Via look in astonishment as Seto carefully tilts the ship to its right position and sets it on the ground. Adam lets go of the wheel and steps back, frozen at what he and Via had just went through and how at that very moment, they all could have died. "Oh my god...I think I nearly went to the bathroom at that moment", Sky stated, taking a few heavy breaths to calm his nearly vibrating heart.
"Okay, I didn't need to know that", Via said with a slightly disgusted look. Then, she states "But Seto saved all of us, though".
"Wait...we gotta go check on him!", Sky exclaimed in realization. He flutters towards a nearby emergency hatch with his butterfly wings while Via follows along with him with her dark-gray bird-like wings. Adam grabs the handle and pushes the door open, flying through the opening, as well as Via. The two airborne Minecrafters fly towards the front of the ship and gasp when they see Seto collapsed in the grasses of the field.
They both dive-bomb towards the ground and carefully land on their feet. Sky kneels down to Seto and gently lifts him from the ground while Via looks at him in worry. "Seto? Seto, are you okay? Can you hear me?", Adam questioned, slightly shaking the magic-wielding man. Seto groans as he opens up his eyes and looks over at Sky and Via with heavy eyes.
"Sky...why...why is my life...was my life...destroyed...by him?", Seto questioned weakly, grasping tightly to Sky's shoulder, almost in a begging gesture. Adam is dumbfounded, unsure how to respond to Seto's plead. Suddenly, Seto falls unconscious in Adam's arms. The general quickly grabs his body and carefully gets to his feet.
Via approaches the general and asks him "What did he mean by that?" Sky shakes his head as he states "I have no clue. He's probably acting hysterical 'cause I noticed that his eyes are extremely purple due to a lack of sleep. We better get him back to the clinic".
"Good idea", Via states, then the two take off from the ground. But as Sky flies to get Seto the help he needs, unknown to him, the sorcerer opens one of his eyes, but abruptly shuts it in pain when the voice angrily states to him in his mind "You had one chance to get back at the people you thought were your friends. Now, you will pay..."
