"Jenny, do you really think that that'll work? I have a police officer guarding my room."
"Lisa don't worry, here," she said pulling her glasses from her pocket. "I have my contacts in. Put the scrubs on, the glasses on, and your hair up or something. I'll take care of the baby."
"Good and Jenny thank you for everything."
"Always," she smirked and walked out."
Soon the nurses would be transferring her to another room, and by then she could start walking. It was time to get revenge.
"Lisa we're ready to move you now," a said interrupting her thoughts.
Lisa snapped her head to the said, "what?"
"We have a room waiting for you."
"Oh, of coarse," she nodded.
"I'm going to have to take the baby for her newborn checkup."
"Uh how long will that take." She really knew the answer, after working in this hospital for seven years you pick up a few things.
"Not long, she'll be moved into your room afterwards." She turned around and signaled to male nurse in. "Take Mrs. Coleson to her room please," she said handing them her chart. She scooped the little one up and held her close. "Have we got a name?"
"No, no not yet,"
"Well let us know as soon as possible."
What did it matter what she named her; she was going to jail anyways. Someone else could have the pleasure of naming her.
"JJ do you think you can do me a favor?" Emily asked.
"Sure what is it?"
"Do you think you could get me some real clothes cause this hospital gown is really starting to get on my nerves," she smiled.
She laughed. "I'll see what I can do."
"All I'm asking is that I some clothes that down open up the back and actually fit."
"I said yes!" She laughed.
Emily turned her head so she was looked JJ in the eyes. "I really thought I would never get to see you guys again."
"Honestly I thought the same thing"
"I don't blame you, if we had just stayed at the car."
"Here we are," the taller man said. Angela will be back with your daughter in about an hour or so."
"Will anyone be in or out during that time?"
"No, just rest,"
"Can I walk? Just incase I need to use the restroom," she lied.
"Yes but I wouldn't advise it. You'll be sore for a while."
"But I can?" She questioned forcefully.
"Yes," he answered her unsure of himself. "Do you need anything?"
"No, but thank you,"
As soon as they left and making sure the door was closed Lisa pulled the shoes she had with her on and slowly stood up. Slightly wobbling she quickly sat back down. It had only been an hour since she gave birth but she needed to practice. If she was going to be walking around the hospital she needed to look professional.
JJ had left and come back with clothes. "I fight for these you know that? They still want you in that gown so I made a compromise with lose clothing," she said holding up a T- shirt and sweatpants. You're welcome."
"JJ you are the best."
"Are you going to need my help?"
"If you don't mind,"
"Knock, knock," Dr. Carter said standing in the doorway. "May I come in?" she smiled.
"Yeah," Emily said softly.
"Ok here's the deal Emily. If you let us run some more tests then I can get all these machines to go away and your IV will be replaces with pills, deal?"
"Deal,"
"Ok then. Agent Jareau I'll have to ask you to step out for a bit."
"JJ, just go back to the hotel, you're exhausted."
"Fine, but you better pass those tests."
"You better get some sleep."
Lisa had been walking all around her room for the past two hours. After every step she took the better she got. The nurse brought her, her baby back about an hour ago and still she had no name.
Right now she was waiting on Jenny to bring her, her supplies.
Emily had pasted all of her tests just fine and now she took her pain medication by mouth. It was nearly ten pm and everyone had left to get some sleep.
Now was her chance o get what she had wanted all day. She was going to see Derek. Swinging her legs over the side of the bed she prepared herself.
Emily's muscles and bones melted as her limbs cried. Walking wasn't something she should be doing right now but she had to see him. Using the crutches wasn't option considering her arms were useless, and when she did the pain was so bad she dropped them. Emily grabbed the side of the bed, then the chair, then the doorframe. Taking a deep breath she slowly hugged the wall and slipped into his room.
She carefully sat down in the chair next to his bed. She picked up his fallen hand and tried holding onto it the best she could. "I just came in to say hi. I woke last night and I'm doing well," she said looking at his face.
Ms. Morgan and her daughters stood in the doorway realizing she was in the room.
"Yeah you're right I know, I'm not ok. I'm not supposed to be in here anyway, but they probably haven't even realized I'm missing.
You know these doctors haven't mastered the power of whispering and so I overheard them earlier. Apparently they wanted to admit me to the psych ward because I wouldn't talk to them. Just because I wouldn't talk to them doesn't mean I'm crazy. It just means I didn't want to talk to them."
"I guess you're lucky in a way, not being awake and stuff. You don't have to deal with them all day. All they do is poke you with crap and ask you questions. They even asked me if I wanted a therapist sent in so I could talk about, or just tell them what happened.
"I was like, if you want to know what happened them maybe you should go out and try it, its fun," she again looked at him and shook her head. "I didn't really say that, but I thought it. Maybe I am crazy, I don't know."
The tears started again as she thought of what to say next. She took a shaky breath and began. "Derek you've got to wake up, you've got to, cause if you don't then I'm going to have to kick your ass," she smiled and leaned her head back so the tears wouldn't fall.
"I'm sorry this happened to you. It should be me not you. You can't die because I need to tell you some things; I need to apologize for what I said before. I can't have you die and the last words you heard me say being that you betrayed me. I know that what you did was a mistake and you didn't mean to hand me over to him."
"I want to talk. I want to talk about the kiss. I want to talk about why you said you loved me and why I said it back. I just want to talk. You can't leave me alone, not now, not after we've fought so hard to get here."
She stared at his face once last time. "Well I'm glad we talked. I better get on back before the nurses have heart attacks." She stood and held on the side of the bed as she made her way out, but something stopped her. His hand, his hand was holding onto her wrist.
She froze. Slowly, she turned her head and saw his weary eyes staring up at her. Emily watched as his other hand scratched at his throat.
"What?" but then she understood. The tube. She quickly grabbed the 'nurse call' button and pressed down on it. The Morgan's rushed in shocked to see Derek wake, Sarah and Desiree carefully pulled Emily back to the wall as the nurses rushed in.
The nurses quickly but carefully slid the tube from his throat and injected his IV with Pain medication. They waited for his heart- rate to go done before talking to him.
"Derek, how do you feel?"
"It hurts," he said with a scratchy voice.
"What does?"
He didn't speak; he only rubbed his hand on his abdomen.
"I know, you had surgery so you'll be in some pain for a little while."
"What happened?"
"You were saved and you went into surgery, but you didn't react well to the anesthetics well and slipped into a mini coma."
"Am I ok?"
"Yes you are just fine. I'm going to let Dr. Bailey know that you're awake and well," she said leaving.
He nodded and turned towards Emily and his sisters. "I'm glad to see you, and I don't think you're crazy." He held out his hand so she could grab hold. Emily slowly stepped towards him. She sat back down in the chair and placed her right hand in his.
"How are you?"
"I'm crazy, remember?" she smiled.
Giving a small chuckle he asked again. "No really how are you?"
"I'm getting there. Rick's dead."
He nodded with a sigh of relief. "And Lisa?"
He saw her body stiffen. "No…. she's here."
"What?!" he exclaimed.
"Shhh," she said keeping him down. "She had her baby, she shouldn't be here long." Derek knew he needed to be calm and strong for her. "It's fine, you should have seen how I reacted." She looked at the floor trying to control her emotions.
"Hey. Look at me."
She raised her head and waited.
"We made it. We. Made. It," he said slowly.
"We made it," she said with a slight laugh. "Listen I need to get back to my room, I'm really not suppose to be here."
"Go, we'll talk later."
Emily halfheartedly smiled and got back to her feet. Desiree walked her out making sure she got back safely.
Lisa sat patiently waiting. She occasionally glanced at her sleeping baby. She looked like rick, which brought tears to her eyes. Rick was the reason she was doing this. Emily Prentiss must die.
There was a soft knock at the door. "Come in," she said loud enough.
Jenny quickly came in and shut the door behind her. "I've got it."
"Great, give it to me."
"Lisa are you sure, I can always do it."
"No, it has to be me or it would mean nothing."
Jenny nodded and handed over the syringe full of atropine. "A shot of this will cause immediate heart failure."
"Thank you so much. I owe you."
Jenny gave her a quick smile. "Well if I ever need to kill someone I know who to come to."
"You ready?"
"As ready as I'll ever be. I've got the guard. You dressed and ready to go?"
"Yeah, let's do this."
"Wait do you remember the room number?"
"I'll never forget it."
Jenny exited the room and stood at the nurse's station. She then returned the door way and stood before the guard. "Excuse me sir if you don't mind would help me with those boxes over there?"
"Not at all ma'am," he said taking a quick look in Lisa's room. Satisfied he walked Jenny to the counter.
Lisa franticly jumped from the bed and calmly walked from the room and quietly shut the door. She saw the guard looking her way. Making sure the glasses were on she looked up. "She's sleeping," Lisa said in a slightly different voice.
Not really paying any attention the guard blew it off as he lifted the last box. Lisa sped walked down the hall making her way to the trauma wing.
Morgan plopped down on his bed after returning from the bathroom. His stab wound wasn't what made him hurt or feel tired. It was his muscles and joint. They felt so strained and over used.
Turning his head to the door he saw a nurse walk by. Almost doing a double take he could swear that nurse looked a lot like Lisa. 'Calm down Derek, you're just paranoid', he told himself. But wait she was headed for Emily's room. What if that really was her?!
He grabbed the cane they had given him and hobbled out of his room. He slowly peered into her room and saw Emily asleep on her bed, but that's not what caught his eye. Lisa stood before her with her needle pointed to the sky.
JJ pulled her phone from her pocket and pushed answer. "Hey Hotch, just heading over to see how Morgan's doing-"
"JJ, Lisa's missing."
"What?"
"She's not in her room and no one knows where she is."
"Do you think-"
"Yes. Me and Rossi are coming as fast as we can."
"Are you in the hospital?"
"Yes we are almost to the trauma wing."
"I'm already here; I'm not going to wait for you."
"Don't."
JJ sprinted down the hallway and from a distance she saw Morgan standing there. "Morgan!" she called out.
Morgan heard his name being called. He recognized JJ's voice anywhere. Without hesitation he walked into Emily's room and attacked.
He threw his cane down causing Lisa to jump. She turned around with fury in her eyes. "You can't stop me," she said holding to the needle inches from Emily's arm.
Emily's eyes shot open hearing Lisa's voice fill the room. In shock she scooted to edge of the bed. "Derek," she squeaked.
Fists clinched Derek took a step closer. "Get away from her," she spat through gritted teeth.
"You know if Rick were here you wouldn't."
That was all it took. He took one more step and lunged. He viciously grabbed her wrist and twisted. She tried kicking him but he grabbed her knee and threw her to the ground. All his adrenalin was pumping threw his veins, and he wasn't going to stop till she was dead.
She squirmed underneath him so he squeezed tighter. By this time JJ had made it to the room with her gun drawn.
"Morgan," JJ said with worry in her voice.
He didn't listen. He ripped the syringe from her hand. "You messed with the wrong agents!" he yelled and drove the needle into her neck.
Hotch and Rossi stood with JJ and watched as Lisa's body quickly relaxed. "Jenny," she whispered and in those few, quick seconds she was dead.
Derek pulled himself over to Emily's bed and sat. His chest rose every second as he tried to catch his breath. He pulled Emily close and held her tight. "I love you and that's all that needs to be said."
"Strength shows not only the ability to persist, but also in the ability to start again. Overcoming traumatic events is hard but we always manage to summon the strength to help us move on and start again."
