Harry woke up with a smile. It had been so long since he had slept so well. No. This was the first time he had slept so well. First time he had slept a whole night with no nightmare or uneasiness. He could still remember Arcane's words. Such an unbelievable tale, but Harry knew it was the truth, after all it wasn't every day a dragon talked to him in his dreams. But then again he now knew without a doubt that his father hated him. Sighing, Harry rolled on his side to find his mate propped on his elbows watching him.
"Good morning" he said smiling sleepily.
"Good morning Harry" Draco answered shifting slightly.
He had been looking at Harry for a good half hour as he slept unaware. It was the first time Draco had ever seen him so at peace. 'How much people change when they are sleeping' he thought idly as his hands itched to brush raven locks from his mate's face. But he had restrained himself because he knew he wouldn't have stopped at just brushing his hair and he was ready for anything more. Actually he was sure he didn't want to go that fast. After all, this was the man he was going to spend the rest of his life with, he had to make it work, or else he would be in for a lifetime of misery.
"What should we do today?" Harry asked pulling Draco from his thoughts. "I know we can't leave this room yet but there should be something else to do"
"How about we talk, you know next to nothing about me" Draco said sitting up.
"As if you know anything about me" Harry scoffed lightly making Draco raise an eyebrow.
"I'm sure I know a lot about you Harry Potter, more than you know about me" Draco drawled a wicked smirk on his face.
"If you know so much how about we play?" Harry said unwilling to admit that the blonde knew things about him more than the false rumours that ran wild in Hogwarts and in the wizarding world.
"A game you say?" Draco said not deflated by the disbelief he could feel from Harry.
"Yeah, it's quite simple, I say something I know about you, and you have to say something you know about me until one of us has nothing more to say or says something wrong. If I win you have to tell me something really important about you"
"Alright, and if I win you have to do the same. You begin?" Draco asked getting a nod from Harry.
"Darjeeling tea is your favourite drink" Harry said.
"How do you know?" Draco asked.
"I noticed that you always asked the elves to change your pumpkin juice so I got curious and asked them" Harry answered with shrug, not looking at Draco who he knew was staring at him surprised. Draco cleared his throat.
"You actually like snakes" Draco shot back his smirk back.
"Your hair isn't blond but platinum, you dye it to look more like your father"
"You were complexed about your hair" at that Harry ran a hand through his hair as he always did when it was mentioned and remembered that he now had silky hair. He couldn't help it he grinned.
"Your familiar is a raven named HaPe" Harry said as he raised his eyebrows suggestively making Draco blush.
"You had a crush on Cedric Diggory"
"You're still a virgin"
"As you are" Draco answered flushing again.
"Your first kiss happened on the yule ball in fourth year with Zabini" Harry felt a twinge as he said it. He knew that the two had gone out for a while but for some reason it really hurt.
"You kissed Diggory that night and never looked for a love interest since his death" Draco said quietly as he knew it was still a sore spot for Harry.
"Zabini was your first love" Harry said trying to ignore the ache he felt as Cedric's death was mentioned.
"You are wrong" Draco answered sadly surprising Harry.
"I am?" he asked.
"Yes you are, Blaise is my best friend, it's true that we went out but it was because we were both lonely and I needed someone to act as a barrier against the people who couldn't resist my allure and kept harassing me" Draco explained.
"Then who was your first love?" Harry asked curious.
"I'm the one who can ask a question remember?" Draco said in a chiding voice.
"Alright ask away" Harry said keeping his question for later.
"Did you go out with Diggory? I heard that he broke up with Chang but I never saw you with him." Draco asked and Harry's face clouded.
"We did go out" Harry whispered. "We started going on that yule ball, but we hid it. I didn't tell anyone, not even Hermione. I didn't trust anyone that year but he was there for me and believed me when everyone turned their back against me once more. We had promised that we would become an official couple after the tournament, but then he-" Harry couldn't continue, as he was engulfed in a tight hug. He realized with a start that he was trembling and became aware of his tears as they fell on the blonde's shoulder.
"I'm sorry" Draco whispered and Harry couldn't stop himself as he clung to Draco and wept for his loss, pouring out everything he had kept locked inside. He knew Draco got the wrong idea but it was better that way because the truth was so much uglier. They stayed that way for some time, in comfortable silence as Draco rubbed his back. After a while Harry pulled away and gave the blonde a watery smile.
"Thank you. It is the first time I told anyone about it" Harry said and Draco smiled back hiding away the jealousy that was eating his insides. It wasn't the time to be jealous, Cedric was dead and he was the one Harry was confiding in now.
"Should we continue or are too tired?" he asked to which Harry nodded.
"Maybe we should do something else, how about we read a book or something?" Harry said getting up.
"We should take a bath and have breakfast first" he said making his way to the bathroom giving Harry the space he needed.
Fred and Georges had always dreamed of opening a joke shop together but had next to no hope that it would come true due to their family financial situation. But they never gave up, and now, as they stood in Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes, dubbed WWW, they couldn't help but feel satisfied, accomplished. Sure it wasn't easy to manage the store, and they had to quit school before graduating but it was all worth it. And this was all thanks to Harry, who had given them the means to realize their dream; who had encouraged them and trusted them when their own parents had been anything but supportive, not that they blamed them. But right now the shop was closed and both twins were pacing the floor of the backroom.
"Do you think they will come, Forge?"
"I don't know Gred; we send the letters, we just have to wait and see if they are willing to help us save Harry."
"What if they don't come? What if they believe the drivel mom keeps spouting. Ever since the war ended she acts as if she is a queen or something like that, shouting her prejudiced and preconceived views at every turn."
"Don't kid yourself Gred, mom has always been a prejudiced person, she doesn't like dark wizards and anyone who isn't completely human, she doesn't like muggles either and barely tolerate Half-bloods and Muggleborn. I still remember that fight she had with dad when he started working at the ministry"
#######################################FLASHBACK#################################
"Why did you take such a degrading job Arthur!" Molly had yelled when she had learned her husband had taken the post in the Misuse of Muggle Artefact Office.
"Don't you tire of ridiculing our family?! Isn't it enough that we are labelled as blood-traitors and shunned wherever we go?! I am a pureblood witch and I don't deserve to be treated worse than half-bloods and mudbloods, I am better than them!" Molly raged shaking her arms to punctuate her sentences.
"But noooooo, it wasn't enough! You had to take a job that had something to do with those MUGGLES!"
"That is enough Molly! What would have me do? I need money to take care of this family, as you used all the money we had to buy dresses and jewellery that you never even wear! Unlike you I care for our children, and what is wrong with doing what I like? You knew very well who I was when you married me, why are you acting so scandalized now!? And I've told you to stop using those vile words!" Arthur had answered tired of his wife constant complaining; she always wanted more luxury, more prestige.
"I only promised to not say them in front of the children, and, you know that I married you because you were the only choice I had at the time, if I had known it would have turned out this way I would have stayed with my brothers until I had a better chance!" Molly bellowed her face rapidly reddening.
"Of course you would have stayed with your brothers because no one else wanted to marry a woman who had been exposed for being a married man's lover, while being pregnant with another man's child!" Arthur countered and there was the distinct sound of flesh hitting flesh as Molly slapped him followed by a deafening silence.
"Don't you talk about my baby like that" she had hissed before leaving the room without noticing her two eavesdropping sons. The next morning they had acted as if nothing had ever happened and they never caught them arguing again.
####################################END OF FLASHBACK##############################
"Don't remind me, I had nightmares for weeks after that" Fred said grimacing.
"Yeah, and that was the only time we heard them fight so violently." George answered and they once more silent. They waited for another fifteen minutes before they heard knocking. As they rushed to open the door, they were met by a grinning Charlie and a stoic Bill who promptly hugged them as they came in.
"Well I can't say I wasn't surprised when I received your letter, is it really true?" Bill asked matter-of-factly as they sat down.
"Yeah, they want to kill Harry and steal his magic, Fred and I heard them" Georges said seriously knowing that it wasn't the time for jokes.
"I knew mom would do close to anything for money and recognition, but I didn't think she'll go that far, and drag our whole family into it." Charlie said disappointed.
"What should we do? We can't ask dad for help, he look completely bewitched by mother, and the others..." Fred said shaking his head.
"Maybe, maybe he really is bewitched, father that is." Bill said as if he was suddenly hit by the truth. "I mean, until now I thought he acted weirdly but I didn't think mom would stoop as low as to drug him. But now that you say she is capable of killing someone just to have power, what if she drugged dad to manipulate him?" He said and looked around as his words sunk in.
"I truly want to say you're wrong Bill but" Charlie said with haunted eyes.
"We believe you too, it's true that mom always acts as if dad would always agree with her no matter what she says or does." Fred added a faraway look on his face as he remembered those times his mother would say things or order things of them and as an afterthought would ask their father if he was alright with it. Of course he would always say yes but at that time it didn't seem weird at all.
"What about Ginny and Ron? Do you think they are drugged too?" Charlie asked suddenly hope shining in his eyes as he hoped against hope that they could still be saved.
"I'm sorry Charlie, but they act of their own volition, I mean, Ron even proposed to hold off Harry's assassination until he was forced to give all his money to Ginny without mom saying anything." Georges said and Charlie looked heartbroken beyond repair.
"I see" he whispered and then he took on a fierce look. "What should we do to save Harry?" he asked.
"Well we suspect that he didn't receive any of our letters so we were thinking of meeting him directly, but then we thought that it would be strange if someone saw us together with him when we're supposed to hate him so we thought that maybe we should talk to Sirius and Remus first and ask them to set something up?" Fred resumed.
"Dumbledore had been asking me to be one the guard around their house for ages, maybe I'll accept" Bill said.
"Wouldn't it be strange if you accept his proposition but still refuse to divorce Fleur as mom demanded?" Charlie asked.
"I will just have to say that I am using the opportunity to try and make up with mom?" He said and they all nodded.
"Then let's begin the 'rescue Harry' plan" Georges said and was met with devilish grins that matched his own.
Ron was having a good day; he just had the best sex ever with Lavender, giving her false gossip on Harry. That he did a dark ritual that is why he look like that.
Of course it was false, and even he didn't know what happen to the freak, but who cared as long as she spread it around? He knew he had changed but Dumbledore had stayed tight-lipped on the matter. He said it wouldn't disturb their plans as he had arranged his life since his birth. Of course Ron knew that it was important in some way, but why care if it didn't become a hindrance for their plans. Ron had been raised to become the boy-who-lived's best friend, his tail to make sure he didn't have other friends and stayed shy and reserved. He hadn't been able to do away with Granger but she had proven useful more than once. His only regret was that he hadn't had her.
'Of course she is a mudblood and I have never thought of marrying her, but that doesn't mean I don't want her for some fun.' Ron thought, grinning to himself.
But well, he wasn't the kind to cry over spilled milk. He knew he would be more popular once Harry was out of the picture and he made himself the king of Gryffindor. There were no other serious opponent, Neville was going out with Luna, Seamus and Dean seemed to be uninterested in girls, sometimes Ron wondered if they were gay for each other, the thought always made him shudder and he discarded it fast. He had been around them enough to know that they weren't going out together.
Everyone thought him to be stupid but Ron was far from it. He had just learned to lay low and study everyone, look for their best qualities, their weaknesses and their every secret without them realizing it. He had done so since he entered Hogwarts, hiding his cunning side behind a brash behaviour.
'They are all be in for a big surprise' he thought as he walked down Hogwarts' halls.
AN: So here's chapter twelve. I'll be starting a new fanfic, it will be a InuHarry crossover with Sesh/Har as the main pairing, look forward to it ;)
