AnimeKiwi369: Well, I don't have much of a right to talk, since I left you guys with another three-month lapse between chapters... -.-

I apologize again. Especially because it's the same excuses again. I had softball, the SAT, writer's block, and I also had to get my Chem grade up. So I haven't even really looked much at FanFiction, other than reading a couple of stories. You're all probably tired of those excuses, though.

On the bright side, it's now summer, and I'm free. So hopefully, I can get back into the groove of this and other stories.

Anyway, here's the long-awaited Chapter 11 of "Second War".

I don't own Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's or its characters. I just own the storyline, OCs, and Yusei's mother's name.

Chapter 11

The Beginnings of War

Crow was concerned about his wife. She had left the Fudo household without a word sometime after the other occupants had broken into groups to discuss what they were going to do about the impending war(s). But his wife hadn't said anything. She just left. The ginger didn't understand why she left. She could have been a part of the plans. She should have been a part of the plans. Dove was just as much involved in this as he was because she was his wife and the mother of a second generation Signer.

He and the other adults had finished planning, and he and his daughter headed back home. His eldest child had to ride with him since her ride to the Fudo house had left early. The two were silent on the ride back; they were nervous about the upcoming war(s). The two of them made it into the house and went into the dining room. Dinner was set up for everyone, but the emerald-eyed woman wasn't in the kitchen or dining room. He went up to his and his wife's bedroom.

The door to their bathroom was closed. He didn't hear the shower running. But he didn't sobbing either. He heard a slosh of water, though. Maybe she was in the bath. His wife normally took a long bubble bath when she was depressed. He remembered when they were first trying to start a family and hadn't succeeded, she would take bubble baths. When she was extremely depressed, she wouldn't come out for hours. Whenever she became like that, he usually stripped down and went into the bath with her. Which usually ended up with them in bed.

The ginger-haired Signer tried turning the doorknob, but found it locked. He rapped on the door lightly. His wife didn't respond. Why didn't she want him to help? What was she so depressed about? Was it because she wasn't a Signer or even a Dark Signer? He may have been married to her for sixteen years, but there were times where he couldn't read her mind. He may not have been able to read her mind, but he still loved and cared about her.

"Dove, tell me what's wrong," he said. His wife didn't answer, "Why won't you talk to me? You know I'm here for you."

"Crow, you wouldn't understand how I feel," she replied quietly.

"Try me," he responded.

"I'm not really in a talking mood right now, Crow," she told him.

"But you know I'm here for you, don't you?" He asked, hearing water slosh again, "If this is about what happened today, I didn't marry you because you were Signer or former Dark Signer. I didn't even marry you because you were absorbed. I married you because I love and care about you. So please tell me what's wrong."

He heard his wife walk from the bathtub over to the door. She unlocked it and opened the door. She was only wearing a short light pink bathrobe and her hair was sopping wet. Her beautiful emerald eyes were sad as she looked up at him. The gray-eyed man looked at her softly and sympathetically. She leaned against the doorframe; her husband always knew how to look at her and what to say. The bleach blonde closed her eyes and covered her mouth to keep from sobbing out loud.

Crow lightly pulled his wife over to him, holding her gently as she began to cry. He pressed her head into his shoulder and kept one arm around her waist. The blonde stifled her sobs for a minute before she completely lost it, crying loudly into her husband's shoulder. She gripped the ginger-haired man's shirt as he held her tightly yet gently. He slowly ran one hand up and down her spine, trying to comfort her. Her sobs quieted, but she still shook as she stood there.

He pulled her back and dried her eyes with his fingers. The Signer wrapped his arms around her again and pulled her close, gently and fiercely planting his lips on hers. He slowly leaned his wife backwards, kissing her neck and throat slowly. Dove lightly moaned at the warm kisses that were traveling down her body. Her husband kissed her chest and back up to her lips. He finally looked her in the eyes, still concerned. Despite the affection, she still couldn't find a way to smile.

"Dove," he said quietly when she didn't smile.

"Crow," she replied with a sad, low tone. She pulled away from him and moved towards the closet, grabbing one of her more conservative nightgowns, "I'm not feeling up to anything. I'm just going to go to bed. If the twins get hungry at all, there's some of my milk in the fridge. And I labeled it so no one would mistake it."

"All right," he sighed. He looked at her softly again, "Dove, you don't have to prove anything to me. Or to the others. Remember that, okay?"

The Signer left the room, leaving the blonde alone. She quietly changed into her undergarments and nightgown. She spent a few more minutes trying to dry her hair before she lied down in her and her husband's bed in the middle of the room, the backboard against the middle of a wall. When they were living together before they were married and before they were parents, their bed had been pushed up against the wall. It had been snug, but the two enjoyed sleeping close. After their children started coming and their kids wanted to sleep with them, though, they had moved their bed so it was easier to get in and out of. Plus, after a while, it was just plain difficult to crawl over her husband in the middle of the night to get a drink of water or go to use the bathroom.

The emerald-eyed woman turned on her right side and ran her fingers over her husband's pillow. With another sigh, she closed her eyes and slowly fell asleep, still feeling she did have to prove something. More to herself than her friends or husband.

Later that Night

Dove slowly opened her eyes in the darkness of her bedroom. She turned onto her side and looked at her husband, who was sound asleep on his back, snoring lightly. She lied on her own back and stared at the ceiling. After a few minutes, she decided to go downstairs for a glass of something. Maybe she could clear her thoughts after something to drink. She grabbed her normal robe and headed down into the kitchen. The blonde put on a kettle of hot water, deciding on tea. She usually made tea for a midnight drink if she wanted to clear her head of worries or thoughts. She looked at the clock, finding it was, indeed, midnight.

The blonde took her cup of tea out to the front porch and sat on the small porch swing that was on the right side of the house. There were quite a few similarities between the Hogan's house and Fudo's house that Dove had noticed over the years, even though they didn't live close to each other. She liked it though. She was able to find her way around her friends' house easier than should could in either the Kessler or Atlas apartments.

She shivered slightly from the cool summer air and pulled her robe tighter around her. The moon shone above, but there were some clouds leftover from the day. The street was so silent. Granted it was midnight, but this felt like an unnatural silence. It just didn't feel right. The silence unnerved her. Even though she went outside to go try and clear her head and sip at some late-night tea, the silence just wasn't helping. Although, it did get her mind a little off of how she felt. The emerald-eyed woman decided it would be best to go inside and finish her tea.

She stood up and went inside, sitting at the small padded bench below the window. It was a perfect spot to watch the street or curl up for a nap if the couch was taken up. The blonde had always liked to read in that spot, and so did her oldest son. She moved the window's curtain and looked out at the street.

A hooded figure stood out in the middle of the street. The figure, who she figured was a male from the body shape, height, and muscles on their exposed arms, had a duel disk strapped on his left arm. The man in the middle of the street crossed his right arm across his chest. A purple glow in the shape of a spider emitted from his arm. Her eyes widened. It was a Shadow Drone! She was positive about that even though she'd only heard about them from Yusei and Jack.

Dove was also positive of another thing. The Shadow Drone was after her husband or oldest daughter! No, she wasn't going to let them get to Crow or Raven. The Shadow Drone would have to through her first. She stood up, taking her teacup to the kitchen. The blonde quietly padded back up to her bedroom to grab her duel disk and deck and quietly put on a pair of tennis shoes. She glanced over at her husband; he was still asleep, but a bit fidgety. But, his Mark wasn't glowing.

The blonde silently slipped on her duel disk as she went down the stairs again. She took a deep breath before she stepped outside. When the Shadow Drone saw her step out onto the porch, he scowled but said nothing. He stared at her.

"I know why you're here," she told him, scowling herself, "but if you want to get to either my husband or daughter, you'll have to go through me first!"

The Drone rolled his eyes slightly and signaled for her to follow him. She followed him down the street to the area of their neighborhood that was a dedicated duel field. Everyone who dueled on their street used the area. Especially when they had their annual summer block party; on that day, there would be a tournament for all the ages, which her husband wasn't allowed to participate in since he was a professional. The Drone stood and faced her, readying his duel disk. She did the same.

I have to prove something to myself, she thought. I need to know if I'm really as useless as I feel.

"Ready when you are," she told her opponent when she felt ready. He merely nodded, "Guess you're the silent type. Never was interested in you kind. Like I said, if you want to get to either Crow or Raven, you'll have to get through me." He nodded again, "All right then. Let's DUEL!"

Dove LP: 4000

Shadow Drone LP: 4000

The scarce clouds overhead blocked the moon. And as soon as the blonde had called out the phrase "Let's duel", he opponent raised his arm. The purple spider on his arm glowed bright and a large circle of purple fire surrounded them. The emerald-eyed woman knew what that meant. This was a shadow duel and all the damage would be real. The Shadow Drone drew his card, still silent as ever, placing it in his hand and activating a Spell Card.

Oh great, Card Destruction, Dove thought. Now I have to discard my hand and draw a whole new one.

Both players discarded their five cards and drew new ones. Then the Shadow Drone played a new card: A monster. His monster emerged as a silver-and-blue-robed humanoid with a green bird-like helmet, gold arm and leg bands, an emerald outlined with a gold wing symbol, and two large green wings.

Dragunity Legionnaire: Lv.3 WIND Winged Beast ATK: 1200/DEF: 800

"Dragunities? I've heard of them," Dove mused. "What does this one do?" She checked a scanner on her Duel Disk, "Hmm… It can pick a Level 3 or below Dragon-Type Dragunity from the Graveyard and equip it to itself."

Legionnaire spread its wings in a regal stance, and in front of it, a blue-skinned, bronze-armored dragon emerged. Legionnaire then jumped on top of the dragon as if it was a steed.

Dove checked the card, "Dragunity… Phalanx? Weird."

The Drone placed one card facedown and gave a gesture to her to take her turn.

"Okay… I draw!" She drew her card, "I Summon Whitewing—Boria the Spear in Attack Mode!" A monster strikingly similar to Blackwing—Bora, only appearing more feminine and having white coloring, emerged onto the field, her spear being white as well.

Whitewing— Boria the Spear: Lv.4 LIGHT Winged Beast ATK: 1700/DEF: 800

"And since I control a Whitewing monster, I can Special Summon Whitewing—Galeen the Whirlwind to help her out!" Another white bird appeared, this one being a female copy of Blackwing—Gale, having long lashes. The white feathers around Gale's neck were black on this bird.

Whitewing—Galeen the Whirlwind: Lv.3 LIGHT Winged Beast ATK: 1300/DEF: 400

The Shadow Drone's head tilted.

"Now I Tune the Level 3 Galeen with the Level 4 Boria for a Synchro Summon!" The two birds flew into the air, the smaller bird turning into three Level Stars, which morphed into Synchro Summon Rings. The larger bird flew through them, turning into four Level Stars which lined up. A green light shot through them, "What the Blackwings can do, the Whitewings can match! Here she is, Whitewing Armor Master!"

This monster had almost a carbon-copy appearance to Blackwing Armor Master, but aside from the white coloring of its armor and wings, its armor was smoother, sleeker, and curvier, giving it a feminine appearance. The head, however, had the beak-like helmet closed, so the massive eye couldn't see seen. Instead, two eyes were seen on the helmet.

Whitewing Armor Master: Lv.7 LIGHT Winged Beast/Synchro ATK: 2500/DEF: 1500

The Shadow Drone's eyes widened.

"Impressed?" She asked. The drone nodded honestly, "Good, because the hurt's comin' for ya! Armor Master, attack Dragunity Legionnaire!" The white cyborg-esque monster dashed forward to strike, but one of the drone's facedowns flipped up. "What the?"

Out of nowhere, Legionnaire leapt off of Phalanx, and Phalanx charged forward to intercept the attack, exploding on impact and blowing Armor Master back to Dove's field. Dove checked the card that had flipped up: A Trap.

"…Dragon Defender?" she read aloud, "Hmm. 'Send 1 Dragon-Type "Dragunity" monster equipped to a monster you control to the Graveyard to negate an opponent's attack.' Not bad. I place one card facedown and end my turn!"

The Shadow Drone drew his card and immediately activated it: A Spell.

"Dragon Arming? 'Equip 1 Dragon-Type "Dragunity" monster from your hand to a Winged Beast-Type "Dragunity" monster you control," Dove read.

Some of the clouds above parted as another dragon, this one with very dark blue skin and light blue armor with a spear-pointed helmet, dove down to the field, Legionnaire jumping on board. Dove saw that the monster was Dragunity Brandistock. Then the Shadow Drone pointed a finger outward, and Legionnaire and Brandistock nodded.

"Is he attacking?" She wondered. Brandistock kicked Legionnaire off of it before charging forward cloaked in blue energy. "Wait, what else did Legionnaire's effect say? 'You can send 1 "Dragunity" card from your Spell & Trap Card Zone to the Graveyard to… destroy 1 face-up monster your opponent controls'? Uh-oh!"

The charging dragon smashed straight through Whitewing Armor Master's chest armor, obliterating both of them in the process.

"Darn it!" She cried.

The Shadow Drone didn't give her time to rest as he Summoned a new monster, this one being a black-skinned dragon with a bladed helmet.

Dragunity Darkspear: Lv.3 WIND Dragon/Tuner ATK: 1000/DEF: 1000

"Uh-oh. A Tuner monster!" Dove realized.

"My silence shall be broken here and now," The Shadow Drone announced, a slight metallic and almost echo-like undertone in his voice. "I Tune Level 3 Darkspear with Level 3 Legionnaire!" The dragon rocketed into the sky, turning into three Level Stars which morphed into Synchro Summon Rings. The bird-costumed human leapt through the rings, turning into three Level Stars, which lined up. A green light shot through the rings, "Feel the power of a Dragunity Synchro Summon… Dragunity Knight – Gae Dearg!"

The monster emerged as an evolved version of Darkspear, being much larger with red and black skin and a bladed mouth. Riding it was its comrade in Synchro Summon, Legionnaire.

Dragunity Knight—Gae Dearg: Lv.6 WIND Dragon/Synchro ATK: 2400/DEF: 800

"Th-That doesn't look friendly!" Dove stuttered slightly. This was making proving things to herself difficult. But she should have expected that from a shadow duel.

"I know. 'Tis hard to believe they are supposed to be heroes," The drone mused. "But alas, heroes turn bad many times in tales. Gae Dearg, attack this woman directly!" The dragon roared before gathering energy into its mouth. The rider gave a command before Gae Dearg unleashed a blast of deep red fire from its mouth.

"I activate the Trap Card Whiteback! This lets me Special Summon a Whitewing with 2000 or less ATK from my Graveyard! Return, Boria the Spear!" Dove called out. The spear-holding bird emerged onto the field and crosses her arms just in time to deflect the incoming fire blast, destroying her, "Sorry about that, Boria."

"Touching, yet pointless. Cards do not require sympathy. They are merely slips of paper," The Shadow Drone said. "I place one card facedown and end my turn."

That comment didn't sit well with Dove, "Don't call them just paper! They're more than that! I draw!" She drew her card, "I activate the Spell Card known as Ivory Soul Wind! This lets me Special Summon a Whitewing monster from my Graveyard, but its effects are negated and its Attack Points are sapped to zero! Return, Whitewing Armor Master!" The cyborg-esque monster returned to the field, "But she won't stay for long! I Summon Whitewing—Jinda the Rain Shadow!" This bird was the white-feathered female counterpart to Jin, having a pink-feathered head instead of a purple-feathered head.

Whitewing—Jinda the Rain Shadow: Lv.1 LIGHT Winged Beast/Tuner ATK: 600/DEF: 500

"Now… for my full power! I Tune Level 1 Jinda with Level 7 Whitewing Armor Master!" The small bird leapt into the air, becoming a Level Star that morphed into a Synchro Summon Ring, "If you thought Armor Master had power, just wait until you see this big girl!" The cyborg monster went through the rings, becoming seven Level Stars that lined up. A green light shot through the rings. "Come forth! Whitewing—Goldwind the Ascendant!"

From a white tornado, a female variant of Silverwind emerged, sporting a photo-negative color scheme, her eyes being green, holding her own long, thin katana with a golden blade.

Whitewing—Goldwind the Ascendant: Lv.8 Winged Beast/Synchro ATK: 2800/DEF: 2000

"Now I activate Goldwind's special ability! Once per turn, she can destroy up to 2 monsters with Defense Points below her Attack Points!" She called out as Goldwind's sword glowed, "Say goodnight, Gae Dearg! Goldwind, nail him!" The birdgirl then slashed a golden sonic blade that cleaved its way straight through the dragon and its rider, obliterating it in a huge explosion.

"Curses!" The drone exclaimed.

"Goldwind may not be able to attack, but I don't need her to! I activate a Spell Card known as Whitewave! By giving up my Battle Phase, I can deal damage to you equal to Goldwind's Attack Points! Hit him hard!"

The birdgirl's eyes flashed while a white aura surrounded her, then she squawked loudly, sending out a blast of white energy that impacted the Shadow Drone.

"Gwaaaaaaah!" He cried.

Shadow Drone LP: 1200

"Yes, that did it!" Dove shouted. Maybe, She thought, I'm not as useless as I thought.

Back at the Hogan Household

Crow stirred slightly and rolled onto his stomach, his right arm stretched out to land on his wife's chest. She didn't mind when he did that; she did the same with her left arm when she slept on her stomach. By doing that, they would be able to pull the other closer if they wanted. But his arm didn't land on his wife's chest or even her body. He slowly opened his eyes to find his arm had landed on the bed. The Signer also found something else; his Mark of Dragon was throbbing, though it wasn't glowing. It was like it was trying to warn him. Like someone he cared about was in danger.

While he was concerned about his Mark throbbing, he was more worried about his wife not being in bed. That wasn't a good sign. What if the Dark Signers had gotten her because she was feeling depressed and wanted to prove herself? She knew the dangers of being a Dark Signer, though! Why she want to be become one?! The gray-eyed man bolted upright and dashed out of bed. He hastily pulled on his boots. He became a little more frantic as he noticed her duel disk and deck were gone. He ran down the stairs beginning to panic.

The Signer looked in and out of the downstairs rooms. He noticed a teacup that was half full in the kitchen. He looked in the garage and found her car was still there. That gave a small amount of relief. He ran out to the street. He looked down one way and then towards the area that was a duel field. A duel was going on. This late at night? It wasn't a normal duel though. There was a ring of purple fire around them: a shadow duel! Then he noticed one of the participants.

His wife.

Back at the Duel

As Dove felt her confidence increase slightly, she heard footsteps run towards and her opponent. She looked at who was coming to watch the duel this late. Her husband. He had a wild, frantic look in his eyes, like he was worried. He was still in his sleepwear of a light yellow T-shirt and green shorts. His hair wasn't even held up by his usually headband and was going in every direction. He wasn't wearing any kind of jacket either.

"Crow!" She exclaimed, surprised, "What are you doing here?!"

"Dove, what the heck do you think you're doing?!" He shouted, worry obvious in his voice, "Don't you realize you're in a shadow duel!?"

"I know that, Crow," she replied.

"Let me take over," he said. "You're not a Signer. You shouldn't even be in this!"

"Don't you think I know that?!" She yelled, "But you weren't a Signer in your shadow duel against Greiger or even against Goodwin the first time around! You didn't even get your Mark until Yusei was about to finish off Goodwin!"

"I don't want you to get hurt!" He told her.

"And I don't want you to get hurt," she responded. "I know you'll have to duel in a shadow duel eventually in the war, but I'm not letting you or Raven get hurt this early on. Or at least not as easily. If this guy wants to duel you, he has to get through me."

"I said you don't have to prove yourself to me or to anyone!" The ginger-haired man said.

"I have to prove something to myself, Crow!" She told him, "You don't know what it was like today. Feeling useless watching your friends, husband, daughter and her friends, begin to plan what to do and not being able to be a part of it."

"You don't have to prove anything," he repeated.

"Yes, I do," she retorted.

"Delila!" he tried again, using her actual name.

"Caleb!" she snapped back, using his real name that they discovered the previous summer.

However, both of them had legally changed their names to "Crow" and "Dove" on their first anniversary; it was their gift to each other. For the ginger-haired Signer, it gave him reassurance on his name since he never really knew his actual first name and had always just been "Crow". Though he had somehow always knew his last name was "Hogan". The blonde had just plain disliked her name because it always reminded her of the Bible story and Delilah's betrayal to Samson. So she'd always been "Dove" to most everyone except her parents and sister. But now they had to call her by the bird name, since it was now her legal name.

"Dove, be reasonable," the Signer told her. "Or at least logical!"

"I am being reasonable," she retaliated, "and logical. I'm trying to protect you and Ray!"

"But, Dove!"

"Let me do this, Crow," the blonde begged, "please."

"Mrgh! Enough of your chatter! Finish your move!" The Shadow Drone growled, annoyed at the lovers' quarrel.

Dove looked back at him. "Fine. I place one card facedown! Turn end!"

"Then it's my turn… I draw!" The drone drew his card, "I activate a Spell Card known as Arma Rush! This lets me remove a Dragon-Type and Winged Beast-Type monster from my Graveyard in order to Special Summon a Dragunity Arma monster from my hand or Deck! I remove Legionnaire as well as Dragunity Pilum in order to Summon… Dragunity Arma Mystletainn!" Images of the two removed monsters appeared before converging and melding into a new monster, which solidified as a yellow-skinned dragon that was much bigger than the others, wearing a helmet and carrying a lance. "And if any of the removed monsters were Dragunities, I can modify the Arma's Level by up to the number of removed Dragunities in either direction! I reduce Mystletainn's Level to 4!"

Dragunity Arma Mystletainn: Lv.4 (originally Lv.6) WIND Dragon ATK: 2100/DEF: 1500

"Now I activate Mystletainn's special ability! When it's either Normal Summoned or Special Summoned from the hand, I can equip a Dragon-Type Dragunity monster from my Graveyard to it! I choose this one: Dragunity Partisan!" This dragon was bluish-purple with gold armor and a huge helmet. Rather than be mounted by Mystletainn, the dragon attached to the larger dragon's back, "Now that Partisan is equipped to Mystletainn, it is treated as a Tuner Monster!"

Mystletainn: Dragon/Tuner

"Now I Summon Dragunity Dux!" This human was dressed in silver and blue robes with white wings, having a stick with streamers on the end in its hand.

Dragunity Dux: Lv.4 WIND Winged Beast ATK: 1500/DEF: 1000

"Eheheheheheh… it's time to show you my full power! I Tune Level 4 Mystletainn with Level 4 Dux!" The large dragon flew up, transforming into four Level Stars that became four Synchro Summon Rings. Dux flew through the rings, becoming four Level Stars that lined up. "Behold my full power…" A green light shot through the rings, "Arise! Dragunity Knight—Barcha!" The monster that arose was a huge and imposing green-and-purple dragon that was more serpentine than the others, sporting a rider.

Dragunity Knight—Barcha: Lv.8 WIND Dragon/Synchro ATK: 2000/DEF: 1200

"Dragunity Knight… Barcha?" Dove wondered, "I've heard that this is the ace card of the Dragunity series…"

"Rightfully so, because when Barcha is Synchro Summoned, I can equip any number of Dragon-Type monsters from my Graveyard to Barcha as equipment! I equip Dragunity Phalanx, Brandistock, Darkspear, and Arma Mystletainn!" The four dragons soared into the air before converting into various weapons, Arma becoming armor. Two of the weapons attached to its arms, the armor to its chest, and the final weapon to its own head. "Now, for every card that was equipped, it gains 300 Attack Points!"

Barcha ATK: 3200

"3200 Attack Points?" Dove cried, frightened.

"Barcha, attack Whitewing—Goldwind! Trinity Spear Burst!" He ordered.

The three spears that had equipped to its body sparked with green, orange, and purple energy. The energy combined in a center point before being fired off in a massive burst of lightning that tore through the birdgirl, causing her to fall from the sky in multi-colored flames, exploding.

"Goldwind, no!" Dove exclaimed.

Dove LP: 3600

"And did I forget to mention one important detail?" The drone asked mockingly, "When a monster is equipped with Dragunity Brandistock… that monster is able to attack twice!"

"WHAT?"

"Barcha, go after her once more! Trinity Spear Burst!" The blast of multi-colored lightning tore across Dove's field.

"AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!"

"Dove!" Crow called out, worried for his wife as he watched her get thrown back into the wall of flames and fall to the ground.

Dove LP: 400

"Keh hah hah hah hah hah hah! Did you truly think your birds stood a chance against my dragons?" The drone taunted, "You have no clue what we new Shadow Drones are capable of! I end my turn!"

Dove groaned, getting up, "I… draw!" She drew her card, and immediately smiled as she saw it, "Perfect! I Summon Whitewing—Fania the Steel Chain in Attack Mode!" This monster was the white-feathered female counterpart to Fane, but unlike others, instead of a photo negative of Fane's outfit, she wore a deep purple kimono.

Whitewing—Fania the Steel Chain: Lv.2 LIGHT Winged Beast ATK: 500/DEF: 800

"500 Attack Points? Truly?" The drone inquired, unimpressed.

"All I need to take you out is this Spell Card: Whiterush! This increases the Attack Points of all my Whitewings by 800 for the turn, but I can't Synchro Summon this turn, not that I need to! Fania is able to attack you directly!"

"Impossible!"

Whitewing—Fania ATK: 1300

Shadow Drone LP: 1200

"That big dragon isn't much when it can't defend you! Fania, take him down!" The birdgirl launched herself into the air before flapping her arms, unleashing a tornado filled with razor-sharp feathers that went right past the dragon and struck the owner.

"No! Forgive me, Master!" He cried out as he collapsed.

Dove LP: 400

Shadow Drone LP: 0—LOSER

The ring of purple fire extinguished itself as the Shadow Drone's last life point hit zero. The blonde let out a breath of relief before she found herself being pressed tightly against her husband's chest. Crow enveloped his wife in a tight embrace as he rushed over to her. He had been incredibly nervous as he watched. He was worried he might lose his wife if she lost. He hadn't even noticed that the throbbing in his Mark had died down. The Signer just cared about one thing and that was his wife.

"Crow," the emerald-eyed woman choked out, "I can't breathe!"

He loosened his grip, and looked at her, "Dove I'm so glad you're all right."

"I told you I could do it," she responded.

"I never said you couldn't," he told her. "I just didn't want to lose you. Dove, please don't worry me like that again."

She wrapped her arms around his neck and lightly kissed his cheek, "All right, Crow. I'll try to not scare you like that again. Although, I believe I made that same promise when we were dating, and I ended up in the hospital."

He shrugged it off before kissing his wife deeply. The Signer pulled away from the blonde slowly, looking her in the eyes again, "Let's head back to bed."

She smiled and nodded.

Coming Up in "Second War":

"A Shadow Drone. If you wanna ride, then let's ride!"

"Let's DUEL!"

"Speed World 2 set. Duel Mode Engaged. Autopilot Standing By. Formulating Cross-Town Duel Course And Awaiting Central Grid Authority's Official Authorization. Authorization Granted. A Turbo Duel Is About To Commence. Combat Lane Transfiguration Is Underway. All Non-Dueling Vehicles Must Exit The Combat Lane Immediately."

"Scum like you don't get privileges, so I'm going first! Let's make this easy! I Summon Gate Blocker in Defense Mode! And by releasing Gate Blocker, I can Special Summon his big brother: Gate Blocker 2! With that, I place one card facedown and end my turn! Let's see what you've got!" Trudge said.

"Be careful what you ask for. You might just get it. I place one monster facedown, as well as two other cards. My turn is over."

"No fancy counter, huh? I guess I'll have to watch myself. Here goes!"

"I shall now activate my Trap Card: Blocker Buster."

"What?"

"Blocker Buster is a Continuous Trap Card that negates the effects of Gate Blocker and Gate Blocker 2, and gives the user two Speed Counters per turn instead of one. Your Gate Blockers will not save you this time, Officer…"

Next Time—Chapter 12: Road Rage

AnimeKiwi369: Well, I hope that chapter was satisfactory after having to wait three months. I really can't say when the next update will be, since I've been horrible at keeping my promise for it to be soon. But I'll try to stay regular updates again. At least until I run out of chapters.

But thank you all for sticking with me!

As always, reviews are much appreciated. So please be patient and kind and please review! :D

See you next update! ^.~
