I Don't Own Percy Jackson

After being plucked, buffed, polished, cut, waxed and re-dressed for about two hours, I was finally ready. I stood in front of a floor length mirror in a knee length periwinkle halter dress. My hair pulled up into a messy bun, a few strands of hair fell at either side of my face in soft curls. I had luckily managed to get out of being plastered with makeup and got away with a small amount of mascara, foundation, blush and lip gloss. After a lot of arguing, I managed to convince them to let me keep my pen as long as I left it tucked behind my ear, which felt a bit uncomfortable.

My eyebrows had been plucked into fine curves, and my legs waxed to the point of being numb. Despite looking good for the first time ever, I doubted I'd ever go back to a spa ever again. I didn't even know that they were allowed to wax 13 year old girls, and if they aren't, someone has seriously got to tell the people here that.

My nails had been filed and painted with a clear nail polish, which made them a lot nicer looking than they had been when I first stepped foot on this Island Resort.

"I think you are ready to see our employer again," Hylla called, standing behind me as I stood in front of the mirror, hoping that I would wake up from this nightmare. I didn't feel like myself, I felt like some kind of human Barbie doll.

Seeing my grimace, she grabbed my arm and pulled my away from the mirror gently smiling happily.

"You look amazing," Her sister Reyna spoke for the first time.

"I don't feel amazing," I grumbled, trying to keep my balance in the nude coloured heels I had been given. I had mistakenly called them peach when they gave them to me, which had been a massive mistake as they started to lecture me on the differences between the two colours.

"A small price women must pay to look beautiful." Hylla said, guiding me through the now empty corridors.

"What was the point of dressing me up if no one can see me?"

"Because our lady has invited you to dinner, she believes that you must be starving after travelling for so long."

They left no room for argument as I was led back to the white, double doors. Without pausing, Hylla pushed the heavy doors open and stepped aside for me to enter the room. As soon as I was fully in the room, Hylla stepped back out of the room pulling the doors closed behind her.

"Ah Sophia," C.C started pleasantly as she stepped away from the tall square stand. "You look-"

"How do you know my name?" I snapped, watching her carefully as she hesitated.

"You introduced yourself when you first met me."

"No I didn't," I stated slowly. "When I first met you, you insulted me and practically threw mw at your assistances."

"So I did," She made a noise that sounded like nails being dragged across a chalkboard, but I figured it was meant to be a giggle. "Please, join me."

She indicated a small table with two chairs that had replaced the elegant vanity table, two empty plates lay waiting to be filled with food and two crystal glasses stood at attention near-by.

"Where's Will?" I asked.

"Who?"

"You know, blonde, tan, a little shorter than me, sat next to me over there," I pointed over towards the seating area where the three of us had met. I noticed the jar of multivitamins had been placed on the ivory coffee table.

"Oh, him," She spat. "He's ... around."

"What have you done with him?" I asked cautiously, watching C.C carefully.

"Nothing too painful," She laughed at the worried expression on my face. "Oh don't worry; the only thing I could possibly have hurt was his pride."

"What have you done to him?" I asked again, trying to figure out what she could have done that would have hurt Will's pride.

"Why don't you see for yourself," She stepped aside grinning widely as she swept her arm towards the sheet, covered stand.

I narrowed my eyes at her as I stepped slowly towards the stand, waiting for her to try something. My hand clenched the white, silky fabric tightly as I took one last look at C.C to make sure that nothing would happen to me. I pulled the sheet down to the ground, and watched as it landed gracefully at my feet. Startled scurrying came from the stand, causing me to look up wide eyed, surprised by the sudden noise.

My newly plucked eyebrows shot up into my hairline at what was in front of me.

"Guinea pigs?" I asked in confusion. "What have guinea pigs got to do with anything?"

"Perhaps I should introduce myself," Why do I feel like we're going in circles here? "I, am Circe."

"Circe?" She nodded. "As in the sorceress?"

"Do you know any other Circe?" She asked, leaning back on the vanity delicately, crossing her arms over her chest.

"Not really," I shrugged and looked back the cage.

A few guinea pigs were still running around in a panic, but at least three of them just sat watching me a Circe.

"You still haven't told me what these guinea pigs have to do with Will."

"I would have thought it was obvious," She snorted. "I guess what they say about you isn't true."

"Whose they?" I asked sharply. "And what do they say about me?"

" 'They' are the creatures of our world sweetie. The world that mortals believe to be a legend." She said softly, watching me with a smirk growing on her face. "You are becoming a popular subject nowadays. You're all anyone ever talks about, I've never seen this much gossip since that daughter of Zeus died. Everyone keeps saying how smart you are, how courageous. I'm having a hard time believing that now that I've met you."

"Daughter of Zeus?" I asked, ignoring the insult. As far as I knew, there hadn't been a daughter of Zeus for centuries.

"Haven't they told you?" She asked in surprise, then gave a short laugh of disbelief when I shook my head. She leant her body towards me as if telling me some massive secret. "Oh sweetie, you're not meant to exist."

"Excuse me?"

"They've kept a lot from you haven't they? You really don't know who you are," She stalked towards me slowly, watching me with her shockingly bright green eyes. She leant down and whispered into my ear, "You're the child of the Prophecy."

"What prophecy?" I stepped away from her, moving towards the couches we had sat on hours before, trying to put as much distance between me and the crazy lady as possible.

"The prophecy. The prophecy everyone is waiting for, the prophecy you are meant to complete." She followed me around to the couches, and walked towards me until I fell backwards over the arm rest. "That's why I brought you here, to train you! You could be powerful under my teachings, that boy was just slowing you down. That's why I turned him into a guinea pig; you could go far without him Sophia. After all, he's just an archer."

She said the word archer as if it was poison, as if the thought of anyone fighting with a bow and arrow disgusted her.

"That archer, has saved my life. I wouldn't even be here if it wasn't for him." I spat. "And what do you mean you've turned him into a guinea pig?"

"I mean what I said sweetie. If you're going to be my student you have to be a lot quicker than this."

I swallowed back the comment that rose to my lips; if I was going to get out of here I'd have to tread carefully. She didn't seem like the kind of person you could say no to.

"And being you're student," I spoke carefully. "How exactly would it help me?"

"I'll train you to be the most powerful demigod in the world. When the time comes, you could bring the gods to their knees." She laughed giddily at the thought. "Wouldn't that be something? The almighty Zeus on his knees, crying like a baby, begging the fates to bring back his daughter to save them."

"That would be something," I agreed half-heartedly. "Would it be alright if I thought about this for a while? This is quite a lot of information to take in all at once."

"Of course," She nodded. "Please, take all the time you need."

I watched her expectantly from my place on the couch, but she just stood there smiling happily, her hands folded neatly in front of her.

"Alone," I specified.

"Oh," She nodded in realisation. "In that case take five minutes to think about it while I check on dinner."

Not even sparing me a second glance, she walked towards the white doors, clicking her fingers once loudly the doors swung open quickly, then closed just as quickly as she walked through them.

Five minutes? Only five minutes to figure out which one of those fluff balls is Will? Zeus help me...

I grabbed the jar of vitamins and rushed towards the cage. Placing the jar by my feet, I looked down at the guinea pigs who looked back up at me unblinking. Not able to find any resemblance to my friend, I decided to take a shot and asked;

"Will?"

Nothing, the only thing I achieved was getting them excited. They started running around in circles like crazy, giving me no clue what so ever to which one Will was.

"C'mon guys you've got to meet me half-way here," I whined. "Which one of you is Will?"

Again, nothing, they just got even more excited. I groaned and leant my head against the cool metal, this was getting me nowhere.

Soft voices could be heard from outside of the room, I looked towards the door in a panic. That wasn't five minutes.

I looked down at the jar of vitamins and sighed, it was my last chance, I mean what could go wrong?

I picked up the jar and undid the clasp as quickly as I could, the tried to pull the stiff lock open on the guinea pig cage. Pulling the lock open, I looked down at the jar in my hands and sighed again.

'Hermes, this better work.'

Not taking any chances I tipped the entire jar of vitamins into the cage and stepped back. The guinea pigs leapt at the multicoloured sweets as if they were their life line. I watched as they nibbled the treats, growing more and more worried as the voices got louder.

I thought nothing was going to happen, then, when the voices were right outside the doors, I saw a change. It started off slowly, but then grew more rapid, the guinea pigs started to grow. Expanding outwards the ten bodies broke the metal bars and made the wooden bottom of the cage cave in.

The doors banged open, bringing my attention the red faced sorceress standing in the door way.

"What the Hades is going –NO!" She screamed, noticing the growing bodies. Turning back to me she started to yell. "You! I offered you more power than you'll ever experience on your own and this is how you repay me?"

I started to back away quickly, trying to avoid the furious woman. I noticed Hylla and Reyna standing by the doors, panic showing clearly in their eyes as they watched the men grow.

"You could have had anything. You could have had everything!" I kept walking backwards until I managed to trip over something soft; falling onto my butt I looked to see what made me fall.

A pile of clothes I recognised as Will's was lying on the floor in a messy pile. My eyes widened in realisation, I felt my cheeks heat up as I realised would be naked right now.

"You could have been a queen!" She screeched. What was with people making me queen? Is there something I was missing? "But no, you choose the one thing that would-"

"You!" A loud, gruff, British accent yelled.

Circe's and I turned our attention to the group of very angry, very naked looking men. The one who had spoken was holding a very sharp looking cutlass, with a posh golden grip and pommel. He had a black shaggy beard with strands of silver showing. His black hair was sticking out everywhere, with two strands braided at the side of his hair kept together with three wooden beads. His beady black eyes were locked on Circe, and is looks could kill, Circe would be dead a thousand times over.

"You did this to us!" He growled. "You're the reason I've been stuck as a rodent for three hundred years!"

"N-n-now, now . I-I-" Circe stuttered paling, but instantly shut up when the man roared.

"My name is Blackbeard!" My eyes widened at the name, the Blackbeard? "And you will pay!"

Blackbeard and his crew charged at Circe, swords raised, which made me wonder, where did they keep the swords when they were guinea pigs?

I rolled out of the way, narrowly avoiding the group of angry, naked pirates. I shook myself slightly, trying to get the disturbing image of naked pirates chasing Circe around this elegant room before chasing her out of the room.

"Well that was interesting," Will chuckled. "You alright there Seaweed Brain?"

I nodded my head as my face got hot with embarrassment, how had he not noticed that he was naked?

"Will, I ... erm ... well I think ... er, thing is, ah," I coughed uncomfortably, trying to get the words out without sounding like a complete idiot. Which, by the way, wasn't working out all that well.

"You sure you're okay?" He asked, sounding slightly worried.

"I'm fine!" I squeaked, then laughed uncomfortably at the sound. " I'm fine, it's just well, you're not wearing anything."

There was a moment of silence where I was just wishing the ground would just open up and swallow me whole. I have never been so uncomfortable in my life.

"Oh," I heard him mutter quietly.

I then heard him quickly moved towards the pile of clothes that were still near the vanity table, keeping my head bent I couldn't help but wonder if the gods were having a good laugh up on Olympus if they were watching. I blushed even harder at the thought.

"You can look now," Will told me.

Looking up, I couldn't help smiling. A blush had risen up his neck and had stained his cheeks a light red. I stood awkwardly, smoothed down my dress and kicked of the uncomfortable shoes.

"We should go," I said nodding to the door.

"Really?" Will asked, raising an eyebrow. "Dressed like that."

"Well I'm not going to run around in my underwear now am I?" I snapped. "I haven't got time to get changed. And I'm not going to run around looking for a pair of jeans with those pirates running around, I don't exactly like the idea of a pirate running while I'm changing. Especially a naked one."

"Good point," He said after a while, then grabbed my arm and pulled me out of the room.

Running around trying to avoid one of the world's most famous pirates and his naked crew, wasn't exactly what I thought a five star Spa and Resort was meant to be like. But I guess some people might like that. Although I don't think the guests here though that.

Somehow, most of the pirates had found their way to the dining hall and ran the guests out; Will and I narrowly avoided a stampede of women in elegant dresses and in the highest heels I had ever seen, if I had been one of them I definitely would have broken my neck.

The rest of Blackbeard's crew found their way into the guest houses, and began looking for anything of value. Guests were running around, screaming in a panic, some still in bathrobes and others with their hair in curlers.

Blackbeard himself had climbed a massive boulder and waved his sword around like crazy, yelling orders out to his men.

Will and I had barely managed to get to the docks without getting killed or captured, although we had plenty of close calls with naked pirates to last us a lifetime. Seeing Circe and her two assistants being chased by a bunch of naked men, will be permanently stamped into my memory.

When we had reached the docks, Will had began to drag me towards our little lifeboats when I paused.

"Sophia?" He asked, watching me cautiously as a smile slid onto my face slowly.

"I have an idea, but you're not going to like it."

He looked at me warily, then gave a startled yelp as I grabbed his arm and started to drag him down the docks, away from our lifeboat and towards the Queen Anne's Revenge.

"No, Sophia, no," Will pulled me to stop and looked at me sternly when he realized what I was doing. "Do you have a death wish? It's crazy!"

"Name one thing we've done since we've met that wasn't crazy?" I pointed out. "If we hurry up we can do it."

"How exactly are two people, one of which hates being on water, going to control a ship that size?"

"I don't know," I admitted. "But we can always jump if we have to, trust me."

He sighed in defeat, then ran a hand through his golden hair.

"Fine, just don't blame me when we're caught and killed."

"I'll try not to," I said then grabbed his wrist. "C'mon. We have to hurry."

I pulled him along to the ship and up the gangway, only pausing when we reached the deck. Looking around I took note of what rope was connected to what and which ropes I had to loosen to lower the sails.

But for a moment, I couldn't help but marvel at the beauty of the ship. Its rosewood woodwork was polished and despite its age, the ship looked brand new. The masts stood tall and proud, reaching up to the heavens without worrying Zeus would strike them down. I looked up at the crow's nest longingly, wanting to climb up and watch the world move by with a bird's eye view without getting killed by my lovely uncle.

"Sophia, I think we should hurry?" Will called to me.

"Give me a moment," I called back, still looking around the ship. Memorized by its condition.

"Something tells me we don't have a minute," He answered.

I turned around to snap at him for being impatient, but stopped when I saw he was stood by the railings staring worriedly at crew of angry pirates and their captain running towards the ship with their swords raised.

"Di Immortales," I cursed.

"Please tell me you have a plan?" He whispered barely loud enough for me to hear.

"Working on it," I looked around the ship panicking.

There had to be something, I thought.

Something stirred in my stomach, a familiar feeling I had gotten used to since finding out I was a half blood. Then, one singular word popped into my head. And somehow I knew, that one word would help us.

"Mizzenmast!" I yelled.

"What are you do-? Oh Gods!" Will yelled as he ducked, barely missing getting his head knocked off as a beam swung over in his direction.

After getting over his surprise, he edged his way over to me. Standing back to back with me, we watched in amazement as ropes moved without guidance and white sails dropped with ease. Chains clinked together as the anchor was being pulled from the water, the gangway slid back up onto the ship just in time as Blackbeard's crew reached us, yelling more violent curses our way as they realized what we were doing.

Eventually the ship pulled away from the dock with a jerk, causing me and Will to stumble slightly. Almost giddily, I ran up to the railing and saluted almost mockingly towards the crew.

"Say goodbye to Circe for me," I called towards them. "And tell her that Sophia say's thanks, but no thanks. I've got more important things to do."

Turning my back on them, I came face to face with Will who raised an eyebrow at me.

"What?" I asked innocently. He shook his head in amusement and moved towards the rope ladder that lead up to the crow's nest.

"Just get to the wheel; you're the only one out of the two of us where to go."

"And what are you going to do?" I crossed my arms over my chest as I watched him climb.

"Try not to throw up."

I raised an eyebrow but didn't say anything, he probably thought the higher he was the less motion he'd feel. I just hoped he was right.

Turns out I didn't need to steer the ship, it knew where it was going automatically. When I had shouted mizzenmast the ship must have realized that I wanted to go further that the exit of Circe's Island, so, as Will seemed to be fine up in the crow's nest, I decided to explore the ship a little bit.

After searching the galley and finding fresh food there (I figured Circe's magic worked in more ways than one) I made a note of preparing a proper meal for Will and I at some point, Gods know we needed it. Although the 'proper meal', would probably end up being a couple of sandwiches and a piece of fruit.

Leaving the galley, I moved down the same corridor and down a small flight of stairs that led into the crew's quarters. Grey hammocks swung with the motion of the ship, and a very strong odour seemed to be coming from one near the end of the room, steering clear of that particular hammock I moved further into the room.

A cheap chest of drawers was hidden in the shadows behind the row of hammocks, which, as soon as I saw it, made me sigh in relief. Not caring if Will came down at that very moment, I instantly pulled the ridiculous dress off me and started to pull out the many pins that kept my hair up, being mindful of my sword, I felt the weight of my hair from being piled up on top of my head releasing as the black strands fell past my shoulder blades.

Rooting around the wooden draws, I kept an ear out of the son of Apollo as I looked for the smallest pair of clothing I could find. Finding only a cream shirt and a brown pair of pants close to my size, I quickly pulled them on. Only then searching for ten minutes longer, for a belt to keep the pants from falling down.

Finally dressed, and feeling a lot more comfortable than what I was in the dress, I left the crew's quarters grabbing my sword and a pair of black boots as I went.

"I was just about to come looking for you," Will called as I climbed back up the stairs to the deck. Jumping down from the second to last rung on the ladder, he nodded towards my clothes. "Better?"

"Loads," I sat down on the stairs leading up to the ships wheel and pulled the leather boots on, I'd probably have a hard time walking in them as they were a bit too big for me, but then at least my feet would be protected. "I don't know how those Aphrodite kids do it."

"It couldn't be that bad," He said sitting next to me. "Besides, you looked pretty in that dress."

I snorted in disbelief but still blushed faintly.

"I'd like to see you walk around in a dress and heels sometime. I'm sure you'd look pretty then to."

"But your forgetting something, I'm already pretty." I laughed with him and pulled my hair back with simple hair tie.

"You're right, how could I miss that," I sighed sadly as a horrible though crossed my mind.

"What?" He asked quietly.

"Do you think the others are okay?"

"Of course I do, I mean, they've got Annabeth. How could they go wrong with her there?"I couldn't help but smile. But as quickly as it came, it disappeared as my thoughts turned to Tyson.

"Sophia?" I tilted my head towards him to show I was listening. "I know I haven't said this yet, but... I'm sorry about your brother. I shouldn't have tried to stop you going after him."

"Don't be, you probably saved my life." I smiled awkwardly at him, trying to ignore the tears growing behind my eyes at my fallen brother.

Will wrapped his arm around my shoulder and pulled me towards him in a one armed hug, turning my head into his shoulder I couldn't stop a few tears breaking through. Wrapping his other arm around me, he pulled me closer to him, trying to comfort me as much as he could.

"I'm sorry," He murmured into my ear. "I'm sorry."

Then, giving up on trying to look strong, I cried.
