A/N: Something from a meme I did on Tumblr.

The date was a hit, or in better words, a complete mess that she made into a hit.

Mako had a lot of thought put in tonight, but everything just seemed to fall apart. The movie he was going to take Korra to see was sold out and he lost his reservations on where they were going to eat to a private party that had more money. He didn't know what to do by then except to drive around the town and try to suggest some not so exciting ideas. After about ten minutes of driving, that was when Korra made it all better. She made Mako pull his car over and switch seats with her. Once she was in the driver's seat, Korra instantly drove them over to a small old school roller rink that was hidden from the busy part of town. It was cheap to get in, which was good for Mako's wallet because a majority of his 'date money' was used on paying for tokens that Korra used to beat him at air hockey and other old school arcade games. They then spent the rest of the night on the rink with Korra trying to teach Mako how to balance on roller blades, laughing whenever Mako fell down and soon falling down herself.

The date was just amazing, Mako wouldn't even mind saying that he was really sad that the roller rink had to close; he didn't want the night to end. Even now, he didn't want their little walk to her house to end. Korra just fit perfectly under his arm and he loved how she made him put his arm around right after he bravely grabbed her hand.

"How's your butt?" Korra asked after a while of silent bliss.

"What?"Mako asked shocked. "Oh, um, it's fine." Mako responded awkwardly once he realized what she was talking about.

"Bet it'll be sore tomorrow." Korra smiled as she bumped into him a little. Mako chuckled as he pushed them back to the middle of the side walk. Korra's smile dropped a little once she saw her house in view. "Well, this is my stop," she said as she lifted Mako's hand off her shoulder. "You're welcome for saving tonight for you," Korra finished as she looked up at him.

"Yeah," Mako said a little embarrassed. "I guess I should be thanking you for the date tonight." The two teens stood on the sidewalk in an awkward silence for a bit before Mako decided to be bold a second time. "Um, Korra, can I ask you a question?"

"You just did." Korra smiled as she laughed at how cute Mako looked whenever he was awkward.

Mako rolled his eyes at her. "You know what mean Korra."

"Ok then, yes. What is your question Cool Guy?" Korra asked as she crossed her arms.

"Um, well," Mako tiptoed as he rubbed the back of his neck, "can I… Can I kiss you?" Korra looked up at him a little stunned from the question, not really knowing what to say. "Look, I know that's a weird question, and it probably would have been better if I just did it, but I just wanted to –." Mako was then interrupted by Korra locking her lip with his. The shock quickly passed and Mako cupped Korra's face in his hands as he kissed her back.

Once the two parted, Korra looked up at Mako with a blush clear on her cheeks as she bit her lip and smiled at him. "Best, date, ever."
