Time for yet another update! I'd like to thank everyone who may have followed or favorited my story, and also I'd like to thank the following for reviewing: Pinkgrande; fantasychild9; MikanHZ; Barracade; and XxPhoenix FlightxX . You guys rock! Also I'd like to add that if you liked Tiny Titans East, you'll be seeing more of them in Chapter 14. Also, I may try to add a cameo appearances for them here and there : )
On to the story!
Bumblebee was having a hard time not losing sight of Starfire. After they had told her that Mad Mod was their newest—and only—lead, she checked her communicator for something then took off once again, holding little Robin close against her body to ensure she wouldn't drop him.
Bumblebee noticed that Robin definitely didn't seem to mind being so close to the Tamaranean.
Most of the kids had followed, aside from Aqualad who had apparently grown accustomed to being carried by Bumblebee. And since Jinx insisted upon not being carried by Kid Flash anywhere until he was once again a teen, Bumblebee had to carry her too.
Apart they weren't that heavy, but carrying them together was really slowing Bumblebee down.
The young Atlantean sighed. "Can't you fly any faster?" He asked. "At this rate I'll need to find a new ride."
"I'm flying fast enough, Aqualad." Bumblebee replied, picking up speed a bit. "And I'd be going faster if I didn't have this extra weight." She said, shooting glares at both him and Jinx.
"Also, you'll have to find a new ride sooner or later. There's no way that I'm carrying you once we get this whole kid thing fixed." Bumblebee cringed at the thought of her trying carry the teenage boy, who, because of his height, would definitely be heavier than her current load.
She was happy that since Steel City was beside the Ocean, teenage Aqualad usually swam most of the distance when they went to fight crime. Or he caught a ride with a whale or the occasional dolphin. Nothing could say "you're going down" quite like having a teammate ride into battle on a dolphin.
"I'm happy Star's communicator has a tracker on it because we're losing sight of them." Jinx said, watching Starfire's blinking green light on her communicator screen. "Also, I agree with Aqualad. Bumblebee's a terrible chauffer." She added, with a grin.
Bumblebee huffed. "I will drop both of you!" She threatened, causing her passengers to start snickering.
"How does Starfire even know where she's going?" Jinx asked, part of her worrying that they could be following the alien to the nearest pet shop or mustard factory.
"I assume she checked her communicator." Bumblebee guessed. "Robin has files containing the location of all the villains that the Titans have incarcerated."
Jinx blinked. "How does he know which prison the villains are being held in?"
"We're supposed to message him with the details after we've taken them to prison, if we didn't for all Robin knew we could've just been leaving them on the streets after beating them up," Bumblebee answered with a grin.
Jinx gave a nervous laugh. "It's not like I'd do anything like that…" she said, trailing off on the last bit.
Bumblebee would've face palmed if she wasn't carrying the two. "Jinx, please tell me you didn't do what I think you did."
"It was only a few times, okay!" She said defensively, crossing her arms. "Most of the times Kid Flash would take them to prison for me."
Bumblebee was about to ask her how she could've just left the villains lying in a crumpled heap on the street when they finally approached the location of the green dot.
Jinx frowned when Bumblebee stopped and put them down. "Jump City Retirement home?" She asked with a raised eyebrow, looking at the building in disbelief.
Bumblebee frowned. "Are you sure you're looking at the right beeping green dot?"
"No," Jinx said sarcastically. "This whole time I've been looking at the beeping striped dot."
Just when Bumblebee was about to reply with one of her 'spare the sarcasm' speeches, they heard the unmistakable sounds of combat inside the retirement home and also the unmistakable sound of elderly people screaming in terror.
Aqualad gave a nervous look. "This can't be good."
Bumblebee wished Aqualad was wrong, but sadly, he wasn't.
Inside the retirement home they found most of the elderly and staff cowering into a corner. Others were shuffling away as quickly as they could, obviously in fear of the display taking place in the middle of their usually peaceful room. Surprisingly, none of them seemed to have fainted or had a panic attack.
Aqualad and the girls' jaws dropped as they saw Starfire holding up a frail elderly man by his collar, her eyes glowing green with fury.
Even the other Tiny Titans were looking at her with a mixture of fear and confusion, aside from Cheshire who seemed to enjoy watching anyone get pummeled. As long as it wasn't Speedy, that is.
Bumblebee gripped her hair frantically. "Starfire, what the heck do you're doing?"
The girl growled. "I am politely asking the Mad Mod to hand over the antidote for our friends!"
The elderly man gulped. "You call this politely asking?"
The girl's frown deepened even further. "As a matter of fact, I do. And if you refuse I may choose to use far less polite methods to get the cure." She said as her fist took on the same green tint as her eyes.
Jinx frowned. "Wait, that's Mad Mod? I'm sure he wasn't this ancient the last time I saw him."
Mad Mod groaned. "That was before those bloody do-gooders took back their youth. After that they didn't even have the decency to take me to the high security prison a villain of my caliber deserves."
He looked at the retirement home with disgust. "Instead they left me here with this pathetic lot, some of whom cheat at Chess." He waved an angry wrinkled fist in the direction of one of the old men cowering in the corner. "I'm talking about you, George!"
The old man, who was presumably named George, ducked his head in fear.
"Poor George..." Raven mumbled before being shushed by her tiny companions.
Starfire growled again. "Give us the cure! "
Mad Mod groaned again, but this time it was more so in annoyance than in frustration. "I don't know what you're talking about! I have no cure!"
For a second it looked as if Starfire believed him, she looked as if she was going to put him down and probably start apologizing. But then she glanced at tiny Robin who was still gingerly rubbing his ankle and all of her compassion flew out of the window. "Lies." She said through grit teeth. "If you do not give it to us, we will be forced to fight you."
The older man gave a defeated sigh. "Fine," he said before his expression turned into an evil grin. "If it's a fight you lot want, it's a fight you'll get!"
Suddenly one of the decorative head busts sitting in the room flew towards Starfire, knocking her towards her friends and also knocking the wind out of her.
The man stretched out his hand and a cane with a red jewel on top flew into his palm, causing more robotic head busts, animatronic statues, and small bronze robots to enter the room.
Starfire groaned as she stood to her feet. "For someone who supposedly knows nothing you seemed to have come prepared."
"Oh I really don't know anything about how those teenage brats got turned into children." He said, giving his cane a twirl. "But I do know this fight won't end well for you."
All three girls and the tiny Titans got into fighting position, facing Mad Mod. The man pointed his cane in their direction and nothing seemed to happen at first, but then they gave shrieks of surprise as giant robotic arms burst through the wall behind them, tossing them outside.
"At least we shall not hurt any of the elderly now that we are outside." Starfire said, dusting some dirt off of her hair.
"I'd be worried about us instead of those old people right now Star," Jinx said as she stood, gesturing to the robot that had quite literally yanked them outside. It was bronze with glowing red eyes and had the initials M.M on its forehead. It wasn't the biggest the Titans had fought, but it was still big.
Kid Flash was immediately at Jinx's side. "Are you okay?" He asked worriedly. "We saw you guys get—Woah, that's a big robot."
The robot shot a laser beam towards the three and they barely jumped out of the way, Jinx snatching up Kid Flash just in time.
Jinx rolled her eyes. "Thanks for the concern, but don't worry, we'll handle the big guy." She said, her eyes glowing with their terrifying pink.
Starfire's eyes glowed as well, but instead of pink hers were an equally terrifying green. "And after this we shall handle the puny wrinkly guy as well."
Kid Flash pouted. "You guys get all of the fun. We wanna fight too!"
Beastboy in the form of a crow flew over and perched himself on Bumblebee's shoulder before turning back into his usual form. "Can we pleeeaase fight the smaller robots?" He asked, and instead of giving her puppy eyes he hopped off of her shoulder and turned into an actual puppy. The green puppy before them gave an adorable whimper.
Starfire and Jinx looked at the adorable puppy before looking at Bumblebee for confirmation. The girl sighed. "Fine. But you guys better be careful."
"Yes!" The two boys said simultaneously before sharing a high five and dashing off to tell their friends.
The girls immediately burst into action, Starfire was shooting star bolts at the robot head on to distract him while Jinx and Bumblebee came at him from behind.
The alien would occasionally check on how the Tiny Titans were doing. She was happy to see that they were managing to take down the smaller robots on their own.
Speedy and Cheshire worked together to take out all of the head busts, him shooting his arrows and her throwing her knives. She occasionally used her shield like sleeves to shield him if a laser got too close.
Beastboy, Raven and Argent seemed to be singling out the animatronic statues. Raven floated above them and lifted the nearest car before dropping it, taking out three of them at once.
Argent used her red plasma to make a giant sword and began plowing through the statues with ease. Beastboy would turn into tiny cheetah and enclose the robots into a circle before jumping above them and turning into a baby T Rex, squashing them in the process.
Kid Flash, Aqualad and Robin were working together to take out the smaller bronze robots. The speedster taunted them before running them over them with such impressive speeds that they looked like bronze speed bumps.
Even though Robin's ankle was injured, he was still fighting. He would launch his explosive batarangs into their chests and smirk with satisfaction as the robots looked down in horror and confusion before they exploded into pieces. The Atlantean would then use his powers to call upon a burst of sewer water. The robots that he had been distracting were then swept away by a filthy wave, along with the remains of the robots his friends had handled.
With all of them working together, it didn't even take ten minutes for them to take all of the robots down. Mad Mod realized this too late, and the second he turned around to escape, Starfire was waiting for him.
"Going somewhere?" She asked as she snatched the cane Mad Mod held in his hand and snapped it in half. She smirked as Robin shot a grappling hook at the man from behind, wrapping him up.
Starfire smiled. "Great work, friend Robin." She said, giving him the highest of fives. She turned towards Mad Mod, an uncharacteristic evil grin was resting on her face. "Now what shall we do you with you?"
Starfire pouted. Bumblebee and Jinx had both denied her request to feed mad mod the jar of truth inducing glavorkans Starfire had in her room.
Bumblebee said that it was too 'cruel' of a thing for heroes to do and Jinx had pointed out that it would take forever to fly all the way back to the tower just for this jar, and they needed answers now.
"For the last time, I don't know what you're talking about! I have no cure, I have no reason to turn them into kids, and I'll have no lunch if you don't put me down!" He said as he squirmed in the grip of Bumblebee, who was holding him upside down by his shoes.
Bumblebee rolled her eyes. "Oh please. We know that you've turned them into defenseless old people before, so why wouldn't you want to turn them into even more defenseless kids?"
Argent raised an eyebrow. "Defenseless? Did you see what we did to those bots?"
Bumblebee sighed. "Fine. Slightly defenseless kids!"
"Allow me to hold him friend Bumblebee, I believe I know which method of interrogation will be effective." Bumblebee reluctantly handed the man to Starfire by his ankle.
She cleared her throat. "Fix our friends now!" she demanded as she violently shook the man up and down.
Mad mod turned green, looking as if he was about to puke. "I think I'll explain in detail since you lot are obviously mental: When I steal youth, I give it to myself! And if you didn't notice duckies, I'm not exactly a young fellow right now!" The girls looked at each other worriedly as they realized he had made a valid point.
Mad Mod groaned. "I don't give youth I take it! Why would I give something as precious as youth those who already have it!?" He asked angrily, looking to the girls to say something.
Starfire stared at her toes and Bumblebee shuffled her weight from one foot to the other.
Jinx frowned before getting an idea. She dashed over to the tiny titans before returning with the broken cane they had found at the scene of the crime.
"Then how do you explain this?" she asked, gesturing to the cane.
He gave the most annoyed sigh they had ever heard before replying. "Oh that? If you look closely you'll notice it's a regular cane from Walmart! It still has the bloody sticker on it and everything!" He screamed, his blood boiling. Pedestrians began to crowd around to watch the scene unfold.
Jinx gave a nervous chuckle after examining the barcode sticker on the bottom of the cane. Sure enough it had the signature Walmart logo on it. "Whoops, we didn't notice that…"
"Whoops?" He asked through grit teeth. "You drag me from my home and all you can say is whoops?!"
Starfire shushed the man. "Please, you are attracting the civilians. You must lower your voice."
"Lower my voice?! You incompetent children! I should have you arrested! I should—"
"Oh shut up." Speedy said as he hit the man on the head with his bow, tired of his dumb rant.
They looked around to find people crowded around them, their eyes wide in fear. Some of them had taken out their phones to record the commotion. Those who had elderly relatives walking with them either held them behind their backs defensively or hugged them close protectively.
Starfire got a panicked expression. A recording of them harassing an old guy was not good for the media.
"All is well, civilians! We love the elderly!" She tried to say convincingly, but she accidently lost her grip on the unconscious mad mod, dropping him head first onto the ground.
"It is not as it seems," Starfire said calmly, raising her hands in defense. "Please do not—"
Everyone took this as the opportunity to run. It was complete chaos. Everyone was screaming and ran into each other, scrambling to get away from the 'crazed alien', 'psychotic witch', and 'insane hornet lady', as Starfire had heard them call her and her friends.
"—panic." She finished before burying her face into her hands.
"That was unexpected." Raven said, looking at the now empty street.
Argent nodded. "Completely. Did you see how fast that old guy in the yellow hobbled off?"
While the tiny titans discussed the fight and the scattering the civilians, all three of the teenage girls groaned.
They were back to square one.
