Hey guys! It's Friday, so obviously that means it's time for a new chapter!
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR REVIEWS! Your reviews were absolutely phenomenal on the last chapter! SEVENTEEN! Yay! Thank you guys! Your reviews mean so much to me, especially when you try to give me advice, or constructive criticism. Seriously, it helps me write! Thank you *HEART*
In response to a few reviews I got on the last chapter…
I would LOVE to update more often than Fridays… But the problem is that school is absolutely MURDERING me, so I barely have time to write this much as it is. I'm trying to make the chapters a bit longer, but that's all I can do at the moment. Maybe when (or if) school calms down I can do more.
Thank you DanyJay for letting me know that you found this on Tumblr! That's awesome! I didn't really think anyone was seeing it on there.
Also, just so no one gets mad at the end, I have a lot that I want to happen on this date, so it's going to take two chapters to cover it, unless I made like a twenty page chapter, which I'm sorry, but I don't want to do that. I need more time for that shit. lol.
OH YEAH! I keep forgetting to mention this (somehow) but thank you SOOOOOOOOO MUCHHH to my wonderful BETA Mandirulez for being my Beta. She does every chapter and I don't know why the hell I keep forgetting to mention her. I LUUURVE YERR *Insert heart*
Also I would just like to reiterate that I FUCKING LOVE YOU GUYS!
Enjoy this chapter hehe.
Disclaimer: I do not own the Mortal Instruments or Infernal Devices series's. (Just thought I should add TID because I have Tessa and Will lol). I wish I did, and I've considered kidnapping Cassandra and forcing her to sign the rights over to me…. lol…. just kidding…. Maybe…..
Alec followed Magnus up the stairs, attempting to take in his surroundings as they went. Magnus's house had wooden floors throughout the entire house, discounting the occasional rug, and there were even more windows than he had realized when he was outside. He could go so far as to say there wasn't really a color theme, considering how many walls were completely made of windows.
The stairs were comparable to the stairs in a greenhouse, the way you could see the entire house as you ascended them. Sunlight streamed down on their heads through the sunroof and Alec couldn't help but briefly wonder if he was dreaming, and it was still Friday night.
He snapped out of staring at everything in the house and turned his attention to Magnus as they reached the top of the staircase. He walked down the hall and passed a few rooms until they reached the end, which was marked with a ceiling length window. Magnus stopped in front of it, turning toward Alec with a smile.
"And this is my room," he said, opening the door. There wasn't one on the other side so it probably wouldn't be confusing later.
Alec walked into Magnus's room slowly, trying not to let his nerves get the best of him and failing miserably. There was something about being in Magnus's bedroom that made him feel extremely nervous, almost to the point of anxiety.
Magnus's room was similar to the rest of the house in the way that there was two entire walls made of windows, but different in just about every other factor. The floor was wooden, matching the rest of the house, but it was barely visible around the fluffy, blue rug that covered most of the floor. It looked vaguely familiar. There was a desk in the corner of the room that was littered with fabric and sequins, a sewing machine set in the middle of it all. The chair at the desk was the same blue color as the rug. That's when Alec suddenly remembered that the furniture in Magnus's dorm was exactly the same color.
The bed was made up with white sheets, the top folded over smoothly as if they had just been put on. The wall that wasn't made of glass was almost completely covered in pictures of Magnus and Tessa. There were a few other people scattered throughout the photos, but Alec didn't recognize any of them. There was still room to add more pictures, and Alec figured he was saving room for the future.
"It's kind of bare without all the furniture," Magnus said, like he was trying to justify something. As if there was anything wrong with the room.
Alec walked over to the wall of pictures and began looking through them, smiling at pictures of Magnus as a young child, probably around nine, with a snorkeler and goggles hanging off the side of his head. "This is amazing."
Alec turned around to see Magnus turning red, a look that he didn't think he, or anyone else, had ever witnessed from the Magnus Bane.
"I forgot this was still up."
"How long did it take you?" Alec asked, turning back to the pictures.
"A few hours." Magnus said. "Tessa helped me, otherwise it would have taken a lot longer."
Alec, after studying the pictures for a few moments longer, turned around to find Magnus sitting on the bed, watching him.
Alec smiled, despite the blush that seared through his face, and walked toward Magnus. He took his hands and swung them back and forth playfully before placing a chaste kiss on his lips.
Magnus grinned in return and stood up, pulling Alec back toward the door.
"Where are we going?" Alec asked.
"To do something fun."
Alec laughed while Magnus pulled him down the stairs and into the living room. He gently pushed Alec onto the couch and darted into the kitchen, almost skipping.
Alec had barely noticed the living room on the way upstairs, and he was shocked by how open it was. Light streamed through the windows that went all the way up to the ceiling, which had to have been twice the height of a regular ceiling. It gave the whole room a very boathouse-y feel.
The couches and chairs were white, with a steel coffee table separating them. There was a matching fireplace behind them, opposite the kitchen, and Alec noticed there was a sort of balcony inside, looking into the living room from somewhere upstairs. He didn't know how he'd missed that.
Alec pulled his legs up to his chest while he waited for Magnus, trying to take in everything around him. The house was obviously expensive, but it didn't seem overly ostentatious, like his own home. It was perfect.
"Do you like smoothies?" Magnus called from the kitchen.
Alec laughed when he heard the blender begin to grind something, but answered anyway. Magnus was obviously making them either way. "Who doesn't?"
"Tessa only likes them when I put blueberries in it," Magnus responded, a little louder than necessary. "It's so nasty. Her mouth is always purple."
Alec laughed loudly and slid onto his back, stretching out on the couch and resting his head on the armrest. Magnus entered the room shortly after bearing a light pink glass in each hand. "These are strawberry banana."
"Thank God," Alec teased, beginning to sit up. Magnus set the glasses on the coffee table and pressed a hand gently on his chest, pushing him back down onto the couch.
"You're fine," he said, picking up Alec's legs and sliding under them so that Alec's calves were resting on his thighs. Alec sat back down, face flushing, and let his head rest on one of his arms.
Magnus placed one of the glasses in his free hand and clinked them together.
Alec made a face when he tasted something that obviously wasn't a regular smoothie. "Is there alcohol in this?"
"Maybe," Magus responded, cracking a smile.
Alec rolled his eyes before taking another sip, earning a grin from Magnus. Alec's smoothie was gone in a matter of seconds, and he suddenly realized he hadn't eaten yet today, and it was almost time for lunch.
"I'll order some pizza," Magnus said as Alec's stomach began to grumble. "I was going to stop somewhere on the way up here, but I couldn't bear to wake you up. You're so cute when you're sleeping."
"I was not sleeping!"
"You were too!" Magnus argued, a smile playing on his lips. "It's not a bad thing, Alec. A lot happened last night."
Alec pulled himself into a sitting position, leaving his legs draped across Magnus. "Yeah, that's true." All the memories from last night came rushing into his mind, and he couldn't help but feel an overwhelming amount of pure feeling for the boy sitting next to him. He set his glass on the table and grabbed Magnus's neck, pulling him into a kiss.
Alec felt Magnus jolt in surprise before relaxing into him. He leaned forward and set his half full glass on the table next to the empty one and ran his cold hands down Alec's arms, leaving goose bumps on every inch of skin they touched.
Alec deepened the kiss, surprising both of them with his boldness, and moved one hand down Magnus's back, pulling him closer.
Magnus's hands roamed along Alec's rib cage, before finally slipping under his shirt. Alec shuddered when Magnus's cold hands made contact with his warm skin, and it seemed to spur Magnus on.
He nipped at Alec's bottom lip and walked his fingers across Alec's chest, smiling when Alec gasped in response. Alec's grip on Magnus's neck and back tightened as he tried to pull Magnus as close to him as humanly possible. Alec could taste strawberries in Magnus's mouth, and it only made the kiss sweeter.
Magnus groaned, an almost primal sound, and pressed himself into Alec, crushing their chests together forcefully. He swung one leg over Alec, which was difficult considering Alec was practically on his lap at this point, and pushed him down onto the couch so he was straddling his hips.
Alec felt his eyes widen as Magnus sat up and smiled down at him sensually, trailing his fingers down his chest and stopping barely above the waistband of his jeans. Magnus's eyes were clouded with lust, and Alec was sure his were an exact mirror of them.
Magnus's hands slid up Alec's chest in a painfully slow fashion and passed his neck until he was cupping both sides of his face. Alec stared at him, wondering what he was going to do next. Magnus kissed him quickly before climbing off the couch, leaving Alec lying on his back alone on the couch. Alec stared after Magnus, his mouth agape, as Magnus darted up the stairs, holding up a single finger, presumably telling Alec to wait there.
Alec sat up and took a deep breath, trying desperately to calm himself down. It wasn't working.
Just when Alec was about to go upstairs to find out what Magnus was doing, there was a sudden thud near the balcony. Alec's head snapped toward it to see Magnus staring down at him, grinning at him like a mischievous teenager.
"Do you like comedies?"
Alec stared up at him, trying to hold back a smile. How Magnus could go from a steamy make out to wanting to watch a movie in point five seconds was beyond him. "If it's funny, yes."
"Good answer," Magnus called out as he darted back into whatever room was connected to the balcony.
Alec looked around the room for a TV and finally located it on the wall between the fireplace and the kitchen. He hadn't noticed before, but the couch and the two chairs were slightly angled toward it, as if they had been placed here specifically for the television.
"We have three options," Magnus said, reentering the room. "If you've seen them all I can go get the horror movies… but we don't have a big selection." Magnus frowned. "We used to have Netflix, but apparently Nadia canceled it while Tessa and I were at school."
"Nadia?"
"She's the housekeeper. You didn't think I left Chairman here alone did you?" Magnus said tossing Alec a wink. He plopped himself down on the couch next to Alec and fanned the movies out in his lap. "We have Hot Rod, Step Brothers, and the Hangover. All three are classics, in my humble and correct opinion, but it's up to you."
"I've never seen any of them besides the Hangover," Alec admitted. He cringed as Magnus's jaw dropped and slowly turned into a smile.
"Oh my god," Magnus breathed. "You're going to love these. We're watching Hot Rod."
"Whatever you say," Alec said, leaning into the couch as he laughed. "I barely have time to do anything, much less watch movies."
"Well, soccer season is almost over, isn't it?" Alec nodded. "Lovely. That will give you plenty of time for other activities."
Alec felt his face flush and looked out the window, trying to direct his eyes at anything but Magnus.
Magnus, still grinning, got up from the couch and put the movie in. "The pizza should be here in a few minutes," he said, sitting back down next to Alec. "We can start the movie after it gets here."
Alec nodded and picked up Magnus's smoothie and drank the rest of the contents in the glass, grinning at Magnus when he finished. He set the glass down while Magnus gave him a look he couldn't decipher. "What?" he asked innocently.
"You are too much," Magnus replied, shaking his head. He grabbed the back of Alec's neck and pulled him into a quick kiss, releasing Alec far too soon. Alec blinked a few times before giving Magnus a small smile. "Tessa was so right about you," Magnus said.
"What do you mean?"
"You're perfect," he said, running his thumb over Alec's cheekbone.
Alec felt a blush creep into his cheeks and shook his head. "No, I'm not, Magnus."
Magnus rolled his eyes in obvious disagreement. Alec never knew how he was supposed to take compliments like that, but apparently he had done it wrong, which wasn't really surprising. Magnus ignored his protest and smiled mischievously. "Your accent is so sexy, Alexander."
Alec was thankful there wasn't a mirror around because he didn't want to see the ridiculous shade of red that his face was turning. He couldn't help it though, not when Magnus was saying his name like that; almost like a dirty word. Talk about sexy.
Magnus pulled their mouths together, dominating the kiss without even trying. Alec's stomach was doing all kinds of unnatural flips and twists as Magnus ran his hand through Alec's already messy hair. Magnus's mouth broke away from Alec's for a moment, and Alec shivered when he felt Magnus's hot breath against his ear.
"Especially when you say my name," Magnus whispered.
At this point Alec felt like his face was about to melt it was so hot, and judging by Magnus's smirk, he knew it too. Magnus's lips reconnected with Alec's with a passion that Alec had never experienced before. The closest they had ever gotten to going further than kissing had been in Alec's room, but Jace had walked in on them and ruined it. Well, that had actually turned out better, but who really cared about that at this moment? Not Alec.
Magnus's hands traveled slowly down Alec's chest and stopped at his belt buckle, making Alec freeze in absolute fear.
Magnus pulled away, obviously sensing that something was wrong, and looked into Alec's eyes intensely. "Alec," he started, but was cut off when the doorbell rang. "Dammit! This happens every time!"
Alec immediately thought of Will and Tessa coming in on them, and then Jace, and sighed with disappointment. It was true. Even when they were completely alone they still managed to find a way to be interrupted.
Magnus trudged toward the door, yanking his wallet out of his back pocket with a little more force than necessary, and opened the door. Alec almost laughed at the way his demeanor changed when he rounded the corner to open the door. It was comparable to the way a mother can go from shouting at her children to picking up the phone and chatting like nothing was wrong.
"Hey," Alec could hear him say, cheerfully. "How much do I owe you?"
There was silence for a moment, before a deep voice answered him, barely audible. "Well, it's supposed to be eighteen, but your number would work just as well."
Alec craned his head toward the door, knitting his eyebrows together in confusion, even though he knew there was no way to see the door from where he was sitting.
He heard Magnus laugh in response to something else this so called pizza delivery guy was saying, and Alec couldn't stop himself from getting out of his chair and walking over to the door. He frowned when Magnus came into view.
The pizza guys standing in front of him was undeniably hot, which for some reason made Alec seethe. He was writing something on one of the pizza boxes with a pen, while Magnus stood inside the house with his arms crossed.
His eyes locked with Alec's for a moment, a sudden realization dawning on his face, probably from the look on Alec's face, and he handed the pizza boxes to Magnus. His face turned a little red as he glanced at Magnus one last time. "Call me if you change your mind."
"I won't," Magnus told him, laughing a little. Magnus shut the door, shivering from the cold air that was now wafting through the house, and jumped a little when he saw Alec. "Pizza's here." he said.
"I see that." he said, trying to keep his frustration out of his tone.
Magnus sighed and walked into the kitchen, setting the pizza boxes on the counter. "Don't be angry. That kind of thing happens."
Alec knew he was right and it wasn't like he gave his number to the guy. Alec knew he should probably get used to this kind of thing. Magnus was hot, and there was no way around that. It was only natural that other people think he was. "I know. That doesn't mean I have to be happy about it." He frowned when he saw the guy's number written on the top of the box.
"Don't be angry," Magnus said again. "It's not going to help anything."
"I'm not angry." Alec protested with a sigh. "I'm… frustrated."
Magnus looked him directly in the eyes, a smirk playing at the edges of his mouth but never quite forming. "Sexually?"
Alec felt his face flush a deep color and silently cursed his pale skinned genes. "You're so…" He trailed off.
"What?" Magnus asked, allowing the smirk to finally make its appearance.
"You have a dirty mind." Alec said matter-of-factly.
"I prefer to think of it as a sexy imagination."
Alec rolled his eyes and sat down at one of the bar stools, flipping open a pizza box. Alec ate the majority of a pizza in a matter of minutes, and soon they were sprawled on the couch again, getting comfortable for the movie.
The movie was relatively short, and by the time it was over Alec felt like he might possibly piss himself if Magus said anything relatively funny.
"That was amazing," he said, still laughing.
"It's one of my favorites." Magnus said, snuggling into Alec, despite the movie being over. He grabbed the remote off the coffee table and turned the TV off. "I absolutely love Andy Samberg."
"I've seen him on Saturday Night Live a couple of times, I think." Alec said. "Didn't he quit though?"
"Unfortunately," Magnus said, frowning. "But hey, now you can say you've seen his best work!"
Alec laughed into Magnus's hair and pulled him close, shivering. The house had apparently gotten colder at some point in the day.
"Jesus, why is it so cold in here?" Magnus said, jumping off the couch and padding over to the fireplace. He flicked some switches on the side and suddenly blue and orange flames were dancing in the fireplace. Alec felt the warmth within seconds, and suddenly wished that the couch was closer to the fireplace. He leaned over the back of the couch and stared at Magnus, who seemed to be adjusting some switches or something. He was struck with how beautiful Magnus was, even doing menial tasks like flipping switches. The way his hair was spiked to perfection, the way his shirt pulled in all the right places… there was no denying that he was absolutely gorgeous.
Magnus walked back over to the couch and frowned.
"What?" Alec asked.
"Here, help me." Magnus said, directing Alec toward one of the chairs opposite the couch he was on. Alec got up and helped Magnus move the chair across the room until they were a few feet from the fireplace. Alec shivered when he felt the heat meld into his skin. Magnus hopped into the chair and grabbed Alec's waist, pulling him into the chair with himself. The chair was small, but it could still fit both of them comfortably, as long as they were really close to one another, which Alec didn't have a problem with.
Magnus buried his head in the crook of Alec's neck and pulled his legs up into his chest so that he looked like a little boy. Alec couldn't help but smile at the sight. He wrapped his arms around Magnus, holding him close.
In that moment, Alec was sure that he loved Magnus. He didn't have the guts to say it yet, but he knew it was true. He could feel it deep inside of his body, buried in the core of his soul. Everything Magnus did brought Alec closer to that revelation, and he was glad that he could finally accept it as truth. No matter what happened, he loved Magnus.
I love Magnus Bane.
SOOOOOOO how did you like it? Let me know what you think about EVERYTHING in this chapter. The dialogue, the kissing scenes, everything. I really want to know what I should work on. I swear I won't take it offensively if you guys don't like something. Well, I might… but only if you're a dick about it, which I know none of you will be, because you're all FUCKING PERFECT ANGELS AND I LOVE YOU ALL.I'm thinking about making a new thing that I update every time I get 15 or 20 reviews, or if I don't get that many I'll stick to Fridays. What are you guys's thoughts about that?
Anyway… Please review! *insert smiley face*
