Dinner that night was pretty good, but I was to preoccupied thinking about Chris to do anything much other than stab the food with my fork and bring it to my mouth.

"Earth to Wren." Eric teased.

"Huh?" I noticed just then that the chicken was aimed straight for my nose instead of my mouth. The sauce was rubbed on the tip of it when they came into contact.

"You seem so out of it. And by the way, there's something on your nose."

Then the phone rang. I jumped up, "I'll get it!"

"Hello?"

"Who is this?" I ask.

"Jared."

"Oh." Crap. I just realized I didn't even give Chris my home number, just my cell.

"Hey, can I take you out to celebrate?"

"What?"

"I got an B on that math test we had the other day."

"That's awesome! I'm such an awesome teacher!"

"Yeah, whatever. So do you want to or not?"

"When?"

"Right now."

"Um. Sure I guess."

"Ok, meet me at Planet Pizza in ten." He hung up, not even giving me any time to reply.

"Bye! I'm going to Planet Pizza! See you guys later." I called into the dining room.

My mom looked up at me, "Wren, we are in the middle of dinner."

"Ok, so I'll put my plate in the fridge and finish eating it later. You know I eat a ton."

"But dinner is quality family time young lady." My father replied.

"Dad, I know, but my pupil got a B on his test and he wants to celebrate."

He looked at me suspiciously, "He?"

Mom interjected, "In that case dear, go ahead and have fun."

"And be safe!" Dad called.

When I got to Planet Pizza, I saw Jared sitting at a table all alone.

"You're late, and there's something on you nose." He said examining me.

I blushed scarlet and grabbed a paper napkin sitting on the table. "I had to ride my bike."

"You still ride your bike? My dad drove me."

"Your dad." I said with a smirk.

"Chris was busy elsewhere." Was he busy like on another date busy? I fretted. No, Chris didn't seem like a player. It was probably homework or family stuff. I reassured myself.

"Hey! I'll turn sixteen in a month and nineteen." Jared announced, "Then no one will have to drive me anywhere."

"Seriously? That's my birthday too!"

"October 29?"

"Yep!"

"Wow, what a coincidence."

"So, we're both Scorpios."

"Scorpios?"

"Yeah, you know, like your star sign."

He looked at me like I was crazy but didn't say anything.

"So you got a B. Was it a high or low B?" I asked changing the subject.

"An eighty- six."

"Awesome!"

"Yeah... are you hungry or have you already eaten?"

"I'm always hungry."

"Good, 'cause I ordered three different pizzas, and I know I can't eat them all."

"Three?" I mean that's a lot of food for a regular person.

"Yeah, they all sounded so delicious."

I laughed. "What did you get?"

"Meat Lovers, Veggie Deluxe, and Supreme Pizza." Mu mouth watered.

"Mmmmm." He smirked at the noise I made.

When the pizzas arrived, we chowed down. As I ate I decided to say, "We really don't know that much about each other."

"I know that you have an older brother." I chuckled when the memory was brought up.

"Eric. I also have a younger one, Kayden. Alright, I've said something about myself that you didn't know, now you tell me something."

"I was born in this town."

"Really? I thought you said you were from Arizona."

"I was born here. When I was three we moved to Arizona to take care of my grandmother who had cancer. She recently passed away and so we moved back here, so Mom could get away from bad memories I suspect." I was amazed at how much he just revealed to me.

"I believe that counts as four things, so you owe me three." He added with a smirk.

I didn't want to get to personal by lets say, revealing that I had wings, but I did want to go deep like Jared just had. "Well for one, my favorite colors are black and red, but technically, black isn't a color. So red."

He snorted, "Well, I can tell. You wear the exact same colors every day."

I went on, "Secondly, I hate spiders."

"Who doesn't?"

Finally, drum roll please, I've never really felt like I fit into my family. I mean, I know they love me its just..."

"I know exactly what your talking about." Jared interrupted. We didn't say anything else for the rest of our meal, and when we parted ways, we gave each other very simple good-byes. I had never shared what I did with anyone before, and by his silence I could tell he hadn't either. It was obviously a very emotional subject for both of us. I know what my ostracizing problem was, my wings, but what was his? What separated him from his parents, his cousins, his aunts, and his uncles, he seemed perfectly normal to me? Little did I know that that was just it, he was too normal.

A/N So like it, love it, can be improved on? Tell me in a review! Anyway, I know this chapter wasn't all that great, but I'm in a rough patch with this story because I'm not sure how to get where I want to go with it... but I'll figure it out! I have a vague idea... Also, my new story has officially been posted! If you're a Harry Potter fan check it out!
