Random guest thanks for that well thought out review and thanks again for being one of the fans that came over to read more of our work after Scattered we really appreciate it. Mary11 don't worry there will be plenty of interesting things happening in this update. Stan its one word be we thank you for it. Bashur its not that much a typical relationship when you read it from how Finn's sees relationships but that for later. Smiles if you would.

Jake's View
It's been one week since summer break began and Finn's been doing nothing but training. Walking into the large training room I saw him doing handstand push-ups with metal weights around his legs and waist. "Finn you've been training for nearly two weeks don't you think you need a break"? Finn keep doing push ups saying, "Relax Jake Canyon returning in a few days she said she has something for us… its from dad". My eyes lite up saying, "Why didn't you tell me"? Finn, "Because I knew you would get over excited… remember we haven't seen Canyon in nearly five years. Billy, dad, and Jack dying really messed her up. Remember how long it took Jermaine to get over mom's death"?
The truth was Finn was right when you walk the hero's path you often meet hardship. But I wanted to stay happy because Finn was always so young. And being exposed to some much death really messed with him. I remember all the visits dad and me had when Jack told us about Finn's village. "*Sigh* Alright bro I'll let you keep training but when Canyon get's here your going to relax for a few days". Dropping down he added weights to his back and started to do pushups. Leaving the training room I went to watch TV with Bmo. Bmo, "Jake Canyon called she said that she will be here in tomorrow". "Wow I just finished talking to Finn about her… did she say anything else"? Bmo, "Not really just that she was happy to here from me and to here that you guy's are still doing your thing".
Relaxing back into the couch I turned the channel to the sports channel and started to watch the smash ball game. "The Gum Raiders are losing to the Rodeo Rockies this is going to be good".
Canyon's View (Special thanks to The Nephilim King Michael for suggesting to add Canyon to the story)
It was relaxing to walk around in the morning sun or the Grasslands. Walking down the hillside I looked up feeling the gentle breeze of the summer. 'One of the highlights of OOO the summer time in the Grasslands is almost a nice as spring'. Making my way past the various trees that hid the guy's cave I found the entrance with a blanket of moss. Separating the moss I made my wave into the lightly lite cave. Once more I found myself standing in front of the hidden Tree Fort of my friends. "Huh last time I saw them Finn looked so distant and Jake was trying to keep the family together".
Crouching as to enter the living room I found Jake asleep on the couch. Looking into the kitchen I saw little Bmo the robot making coffee. Smiling I nudged Jake awake. Jake, "Huh… Canyon… CANYON what's up girl"! Hugging Jake I was happy he was still his same old jokey self. "Hey is Finn asleep"? Jake huffed to say, "No he's probably still in the training room". Following Jake upstairs he opened a side door to show Finn doing handstand spin kicks. Seeing us he stopped and said his hellos. "Finn take five and lets eat something". After Finn took a quick bath he came down an hugged me saying, "Its really good to see you Canyon". "Same here Finn ok lets eat". Having a plate full of bacon pancakes Jake asked, "Canyon where have you been and what did you have from dad"?
"Well I went on a soul search across the outer edges of the badlands. I found some great stuff a map to an underground maze, the scythe of a battle wizard, and this old video game console". Jake, "Holy stuff Can that system is extremely rare do you have any games"? Nodding I pulled out eight games making him jump and bounce off the wall as he started to set up the system. "Finn what's with that egg you're holding"? Finn stopped rubbing his egg to say, "Yeah I read about it in Jack's journal saying this was the last of a long gone species". "Cool oh Jake before you start to play your dad wanted you to see this when the time is right". Pulling a holo-caster from my pack I inserted the square cartridge to play the message.
Revealing a small image of their dad the message began, "Finn Jake if your watching this it means that I've passed. And one of our trusted family members thinks your ready to undertake this challenge. Finn Jake I won't lie this dungeon houses some of the nastiest things around OOO. But this dungeon holds our family greatest treasure the families Demon Blood sword. Jake I know you already received grandpa's Eye sword so I hope you'll allow Finn to wield the Blood sword". Turning his head I saw Jake give Finn a happy smile Finn returned a small but emotional smile to his brother. Joshua continued, "Boy's like I said this place is crazy nasty you have to keep on your feet and toes to make it out in one piece. Inside the dungeon are other personal messages like this one from all of us. Good luck boys and I hope you stay strong".
"Ok guy's before we go to the dungeon Finn I heard you unlocked a new Chi power". Finn, "Yeah I unleashed my inner spirit and it took the form of a gold bear". Nodding my head I turned to Jake who was now sitting on Finn's head playfully patting both his knees. "Ok let's go to the dungeons entrance". Walking a good ways out of their hideouts forest we stopped as I pointed a stupid looking rock. Pushing it to the side I said, "Ok this is the entrance… guy's I'll be waiting here for you to return ok". Nodding their heads Jake jumped in first but Finn stopped and turned to me. Finn, "I'm glad your back Canyon". Without another word he jumped in as I sat in the grass enjoying the breeze.
Third Person's View
On landing both adventurers looked around the stone lined room to see two chests. Finn, "Jake be ready the Chi from both these chests are sending my senses crazy". At his words the chests began to wobble ad crack at various parts. Until they completely busted open kicking up clouds of smoke. With the smoke cleared both adventurers were in shock as their father and Jack stood in front of them. Jake was beside himself until Finn gripped his shoulder. Finn, "Jake don't freak they're Copy-chests they copy anyone we have an emotion attachment to". Jake, "But it doesn't make it any less weird bro". Finn pulled Scarlet as the copy Jack pulled his katana.
Both Magic Dogs morphed their bodies and the first trail began. With Jake punching his copy dad while Finn squared off with the copy of his sensei. Finn, "You may look like my sensei but you don't have his skills". The copy gave a twisted battle cry and charged Finn to see him easily evade the slow swings. Deflecting another downward slash Finn elbowed the copies stomach then decapitated the clone. In and instant its body groaned and morphed back into a chest. The same thing happened with the clone of their dad. Jake, "You were right bro they looked like our family they were super weak". Finn gave a chuckle saying, "Yeah does dad still think were kids… I mean a clone of them when we were younger would have worked maybe".
Jake playfully slapped his brother's shoulder saying, "Yeah in an alternate universe maybe but not her bro ham. Look another cartridge". Picking it up Jake pulled the Holo-caster from inside his morphed skinned. With that the cartridge began both brother saw Jack sitting and mediating. Jack, "Finn Jack if you are watching this then my time in the mortal plain has passed. Please do not feel sad you both know my struggle and you both understand the path you walk. Being a hero is often a path that can divert by the people you meet and the choices you make. Remember my friends in life expect the unexpected and welcome the changes that present themselves". As the message ended Finn took a breath and they pressed on.
Jake, "You can always count on Jake to give some mystical insight". Finn gave a grin agreeing with his brother on the teachings of his master. As more time passed the two found themselves standing in a forked path. Jake, "Ok we can take the slime covered corridor or the one with vines covering the floor". Finn, "I don't want to have to buy another set of clothes Jake… this is my last sweat suite and the order for my new clothes hasn't arrived yet". Understanding his problem they walked down the corridor covered in vines. But as they did Finn felt something was off. Finn, "Jake do you hear something"? Jake, "Kind of". Listening in they heard what sounded like snakes hissing but they were too far away and too sporadic. Jake, "Come on its probably from the other corridor lets keep going". As the two advanced Finn took notice of how thicker the vines became and how groggy he became as well.
Finn, "Jake… urg you… we need to st…" Feeling his body be overpowered Finn feel into the void of sleep. Finn didn't know how long he was out but as he awoke he found his head was killing him. Opening his eyes completely he found that Jake and he were hanging upside down and tied up with the corridors vines. Soon the hissing turned to giggles as three light green colored girls emerged from the vine-covered floor. Each one with their own hairstyle, tattered clothing and small fanny pack. One girl walked forward saying, "Hmm they look good enough to eat raw". Laughing at her words Finn wasn't too happy with the idea of becoming someone's meal. Finn, "Hey look I just want to find the sword of my father please just let us go". Another girl walked up to Finn touching his face lightly saying, "But if we let you go we won't have anything to eat".
Finn, "I have food in my pack I've give it to you as a trade for us ok". Girl, "No if you wish to get free you must eat our cursed fruit and if you live you may go". Finn still groggy from what was in the air couldn't trigger his Chi he had no other choice. Nodding in agreement one of the girls pulled a small shiny green apple. Presenting it too him Finn began to eat it the first bit everything was ok. Finishing off the apple nothing happened the other two fruit girls did the same. Once he was done they three began to laugh as Finn started to cough uncontrollable. It felt as if hot thorns were pressing into his skin looking at his neck he saw vines smeared in his blood starting to poke from inside him.
As the vines crept free Finn felt his muscles jerk and he was losing it. Until a phrase from Jack came to him, "Empty the chaos of your mind and you will see that no pain is real unless you allow it to be". Still trembling Finn began to calm himself letting his inner spirit help him. Slowly the vines began to fizzle and turn into ooze like gunk. Feeling a new rumble in his guts Finn puke up the ooze along with most of the food he had. The fruit girls groaned as they snapped their fingers. Finn and Jake fell to the ground as the girls slipped away back into the floor vines. Slapping his brother awake Jake groaned saying, "eww what's that smell"? Finn, "Shut up and lets go". Free from the vine corridor they had to scale a big wall to get to the next room.
Looking around the large room it looked as if the place was still being built. Sliding to the center of the room they found another cartridge and let it play. Joshua once more appeared, "Boy's if you made it this far it means you passed the fruit witches or the Slime golem. Now boys inside this pit is one of the nastiest creatures of the southern caverns in the Outlands. Trust me the Outlands make the Badlands look like a nice trip to the beach". With the messages end the entered the small hole and saw the Demon Blood sword chained in a crystal. Walking over to if Finn touched the sword but runes on the chains sparked up and struck his hand. Finn hissed at the pain as Jake found more messages. This time Jack appeared, "Finn Jake the sword is chained to a crystal of 'Person'. One of you must reveal something so personal that the chain will see you fit to wield the sword. Good luck I know you can do it".
Finn tried several more times to touch the sword but it proved futile. As Jake continued to play messages a loud maniacal laugh erupted from the shadows. A large yellow crystalized eye immerged with its dark blue tendril body. The creature continued to laugh as it swatted Finn away with great force. Landing in a low crouch Finn had little time to think as one of its tendrils grabbed him and threw him at the wall. Jake, "Finn use your Chi bro". Pull Scarlet Finn focused and slashed at the creature but as his Chi connected it didn't faze the creature. It kept laughing and attack Finn with little care. Finn was angry and just couldn't figure things out. Finn, "ARGH I don't know what to do… I feel… I feel so alone… Jake you're my bro one of few people who care for me. Everyone else they just want to use me.
"Jake I *sob* I wish I had more time with all of us together as a family". As the tears rolled down Finn's face another punched sent him into the floor. Jake pulled a message and played it a full volume. Joshua, "Finn I'm proud of you more then proud I see you as my son just like Jake and Jermaine. But someone else want to say a few words too". With that Margret the Magic Dog walked next to Joshua with a big smile. Margret, "Finn Jake we love you and not matter what happens in your lives we will always be ready to help you. You're our boys and no matter what you'll be our special hero's". With the message end Finn wiped his face gritted his teeth and stood staring down the laughing monster. Finn, "I'm going to cut you in half".
Jake inserted more messages and started to make a beat with the messages and his mouth. (Play the ArkA-9 dad's dungeon remix for the fight). Finn spun in the air past the creatures swatting tendril and landed right next to the sword. Grabbing the sword with one hand he stared down his foe once more to say, "My family believes me and I will be their hero in this life and the next"! Pulling with all his might the chains gave as Finn held the red claymore sword two handed. The creature threw yet another punch but Finn ducked under it and cut clean through its wrist. As gray blood splashed onto Finn he saw that there was another chain around the creatures wrist. Leaving it for later he went right back into the fight. Focusing his Chi Finn increased his muscle strength and leapt into the air.
As the creature gave chase with its tendril Finn once more sent a series of slashes with his Chi at the creature. But this time his slashes worked cutting all the appendages that were in his way. Training his sword right at the center of the creature's eye it tried to stop him. But Finn released a battle cry and cut the creature's hand at an angle causing it to lose three fingers and most of its palm. Landing just in front of it Finn wanted to shut it up. Slashing with a greater amount of Chi Finn caused the creature to go slack jawed. With half is face now hanging off Finn Stabbed the monster right in the eye. Using his strength he got pretty deep the blades whole length was almost inside the creatures skull. Feeling his inner bear Finn roared like one and sent a whole new level of Chi into his next attack.
Going into a sideway slash the creature was nearly cut right down the middle. Except for the lower half the Finn's sword didn't cut. Smiling wider than he's done in the last few years Jake walked over and gave him a hug. Jake, "I'm proud of you too bro". Finn let the tears flow again to say, "Thanks bro you always did know how to make me smile". Picking up Scarlet Finn went to see what was around the creature's wrist. Both adventurers found that it was a metal tube upon opening it is was a map that read 'Well of Guidance'. Smiling at his brother Finn said, "What time is it bro"? Jake smiled back saying, "It's… ADVENTURE TIME"! High fiving each other they went on to leave the dungeon to meet back up with Canyon. The brothers were eager to tell her about what they've been through and what they learned about one another.
