Sorry this took a little longer to update, but after 5x07 I wanted to change this chapter so I had to start the whole thing again. It's not going to be an easy road for Valkubus in this fanfic, but now more than ever I want Bo to truly fight for Tamsin, so that's what my fanfic will be doing.
If you reviewed, shout out at the end :)
Tamsin turned her head and stared deeply into Bo's beautiful brown eyes after hearing she wanted to know more about what an anchor means to a Valkyrie.
Bo instantly got caught up in the moment, the way Tamsin eyes fixed onto hers; left the succubus in awe. In that instant she felt a familiar force, drawing her to the Valkyrie as her eyes fell lustfully at her lips. Tamsin voice snapped the brunette out of her trance, causing her to make eye contact with the blonde.
"I was brought up hearing legends about a Valkyrie's anchor; the true power that lies with in it that can go beyond any fae or god." Tamsin said brightly; truly mesmerised by the tales she was told as a young girl. A small crease formed in between her eyebrows, a saddened expression corrupted her features. "But when I started Valkyrie high school we were taught that we had a purpose." She added sorrowfully
"A purpose?" Bo questioned; her lips slightly pouted seeing the Valkyrie in such anguish. The succubus knew that Tamsin regretted the things she did in her past lives, claiming to have hurt a lot of people. Bo wanted to know more about the blonde, but having to see her in such pain as she told her story wasn't going to be easy.
"Valkyrie high school is a rite of passage for my kind. When you graduate; Valkyries would be recruited to serve either of the two gods by collecting souls of fallen warriors on battlefields. There is Freya; the Norse goddess of love or Odin; the great father of all Norse Gods. We never had a choice to who we would serve." Tamsin explained.
"The gods chose?" Bo asked with disgust; hating the fact people of power dictated other's life choices.
"No, well sort of; my case was special." The Valkyrie said distantly; playing with her hands
"Your case was special? What do you mean? " The succubus was confused; the blonde's demeanour had changed so rapidly.
"Fate usually chooses the path of the Valkyrie, but it never chose mine" Tamsin clarifies but still cryptic.
"Fate?" Bo questioned in a puzzled tone.
"A league of powerful dark and light elders, are invited to the Ceremony, where they witness the future generation of Valkyries walk through The Mirror of Fate. Once you step through it, the mirror determines the path you will take; whether it's with Freya or Odin." Tamsin informs.
"How does it do that?" The succubus questioned eagerly .
"The Mirror of Fate is an ancient power that acts as a portal. It chooses the best path for the warriors by examining their true potential, as they step into it. Once the Valkyrie steps into it they don't come out the other side. When the mirror chooses who they will serve, it instantly transports them to the training halls of that God. " The green eyed beauty enlightened the brunette of the Valkyrie's traditions
"Why was your case different? Didn't this Mirror of Fate choose Odin for you to serve? I remember you said he didn't approve of your relationship with Brie." Bo said; trying to put the pieces together.
Tamsin laughed, she shook her head sideways in reply to the succubus's question.
"Wait, what?" Bo became even more confused.
"My teachers always said that I was different from the other Valkyries in my sisterhood. I never could find my place among them; I didn't fit in anywhere."
"So what happened, when you stepped into the mirror?" The succubus was more curious that ever.
"You know I said that once a Valkyrie steps into it that they don't come out the other side." Tamsin said raising her eyebrows at Bo.
The brunette furrowed in confusion as she stared into the blonde's green eyes. Bo could feel the pounding in her head, as her mind tried to make sense of the Valkyrie's story. Bo's facial expression eased; her mouth slightly agape when she realised what Tamsin was trying to say.
"You stepped right through the mirror? " Bo asked
"Yeah, you should have heard the gasps that filled the room, when I got shoved out of that thing. The look on the elder's faces was priceless; I still remember seeing Trick's." Tamsin laughed, as she reminisced the memory.
"Trick was there?" The succubus asked surprisingly
"Yeah he is the Blood King, a noble elder of the light." Tamsin explained.
"I never knew you two go so far back." Bo smiled.
"I hope that isn't your way of calling me old." Tamsin furrowed jokily at the succubus.
The brunette huffed out a laugh.
"What happened after fate didn't choose you a path?" Bo had to get back on the subject; she craved to know more about the blonde.
"Well they ordered me to step through it again. This time I flew out the mirror, rolling across the floor in front of everyone. Hurt like a bitch. I think fate had other plans for me" Tamsin smiled; staring at the succubus tenderly.
Bo caught the glimpse in Tamsin green eyes.
"Odin and Freya witnessed something that has never happened before. I guess they thought I was special, a gift bestowed upon them. They argued who would have me, eventually Odin won. So I trained with him." The Valkyrie said
"And that's where you met Brie." The succubus stated in an envy tone.
"I made quite the reputation before I met her" Tamsin laughed. "It wasn't a secret that I was one of Odin's favourites; I prevailed through all my training. I proved myself that I had true potential to being a great warrior. I was the strongest and smartest out of my sisterhood. I became so defiant and arrogant, no wonder my sister's loathed me." The blonde sneered with her signature smirk.
"Why am I not surprised?" Bo sneered with a grin.
The Valkyrie lightly scoffed before silence filled the room. The succubus gazed at Tamsin, something was harbouring inside of the older fae.
"What is it?" the succulet asked kind-heartedly
"It's just I always wanted more out my lives. I never could find a place where I truly belonged. I thought I found it when I met Brie, but we both know how that ended. " Tamsin voice was low.
"You belong here with me" Bo said sincerely: the words rolled of her tongue swiftly, before she was able to process her own thought.
Tension corrupted the atmosphere in the clubhouse rapidly. Those words held so much meaning to the succubus and by the way the Valkyrie was looking at her; they met everything to the blonde too.
"Kenzi and the others; you're a part of this family Tamsin. You belong here with us." The brunette added shyly; trying to smooth out her outburst.
"I never thought i would find a place again that I could call home, and to be part of a family." Tamsin smiled; her memories of Kenzi using her temporary powers to make her smile came rushing to the surface. After Brie the blonde never imagined finding happiness again.
"We're a dysfunctional family, but nevertheless still a family. We look out for each other." Bo said sincerely
"And all my sisterhood wanted was Odin's attention; do anything to be noticed by him. I never felt that way towards him, just makes me think my sisters were brainwashed or something. He demanded power and to be worshipped by my kind and that's how he feeds. So it never made sense to me why he favoured Brie and I; we were different from the others. We wanted more than a Valkyrie's life to fulfil our purpose by serving him." Tamsin said distantly.
"He feeds of Valkyries?" Bo furrowed in confusion.
"He feeds of loyalty and adoration that's how he gains power. You wanted to know what an anchor was, right?" Tamsin tightly smiled at the brunette
"An anchor is a treasured gift bestowed on a Valkyrie. It's a powerful tool that helps us to control the darkness that harbours within our powers. It stops us from getting lost in anguish and torment that we come across in our lifetimes." Tamsin informed.
"So it's like a safe haven?" Bo questioned; it was important for her to understand this subject.
"Yeah, it's kind of like a safe haven." The Valkyrie smiled, she never thought of it like that before. "Not bad baby fae" she added with her signature smirk.
Bo's smile grew so wide; it caused her to blush; forcing her to look away from Tamsin as she huffed out a laugh. Trying to regain her composure, she bit her lip, in a desperate attempt to stop it from growing any bigger.
"But what baby fae doesn't understand is how does Odin feed of the anchor? If Valkyries know they are being fed off, why do they allow him to do it?" The succubus asked
"I honestly don't know why my sisters allow it. I never could make sense of it. This is why I think he has them enthralled somehow." Tamsin furrowed in disgust.
"Like the effect my blood has on people." Bo said
"Yes but Odin abuses the power of the anchor; he uses it for his own personal gain. By having an army of Valkyries anchored to him, he is guaranteed an endless source of power. " Tamsin said thick with loathe. The blonde beauty could feel her heart racing; her hatred for this god was boiling to the surface. A noticeable scowl corrupted her features. The Valkyrie closed her eyes and took a deep breath, trying to regain control.
The succubus reached out and placed a comforting hand on top of the Valkyrie's.
A soothingly warmth overwhelmed Tamsin as it oozed through her body. The anger within her quickly dissipated from her body, making her feel lighter and happier.
The blonde shot her eyes open in awe, she looked own seeing Bo's hand on top of hers.
"Tamsin, we don't have to talk about this." The succubus said; staring at the blonde caringly.
The Valkyrie continued to glare at Bo's hand. She didn't even have to use her warm touch to calm her down, just like at the Dal when Brie first turned up. The unaligned succubus was truly Tamsin's safe haven. An unwelcomed clarification, as the blonde felt there was no place for her in the succulet's life.
"No, it just brings back-" Tamsin snapped out her trance.
"Bad memories" Bo finished the blonde's sentence.
"Yeah." Tamsin nodded." I never allowed Odin to brainwash me like he did with my sisters. He would say that fate chose each and every one of them to join his reign because they're the strongest fighters to help him win in battles. I still remember him repeatedly saying that he was their saviour. What a joke!. Odin has given nothing to the Valkyrie race but continuously takes something special within us, just to remain more powerful than any other god." The Valkyrie was feeling emotions that she thought she had buried over a thousand years ago. Triggering a whole new level of hatred and hurt to rise from within.
"Tamsin" Bo breathed out; her voice full of empathy. It was obvious to the brunette what the Valkyrie meant when she said 'takes something special within us'. It was personal battle raging inside of Tamsin.
"I don't want your sympathy" The blonde voice was firm.
"You should talk to her." Bo said reluctantly; a small crease formed on her face, as sadness washed over her face. The succubus couldn't believe the words that came out of her mouth. But seeing Tamsin so affected by the Valkyrie's presence, Bo knew the blonde needed to get the answers that only Brie can give her.
"What?" Tamsin questioned angrily
"She's the only one that can help you move-." Bo began calmingly before being sharply cut off.
"I don't need anyone's help!" Tamsin spat defensively; standing up. Her eyes burned into the succubus's brown eyes.
"Tamsin" Bo said; extending her arm to comfort the Valkyrie.
The Valkyrie quickly realised the affect that would have and swiftly swung her arm out of Bo's reach.
"Don't" she said firmly; the light now starting to reflect of her watery eyes.
Lauren's body was suddenly hit with an adrenaline rush that overwhelmed her body causing her to gasp for air. The human eagerly scanned the room for the cause of her abrupt consciousness; her eyes quickly locked onto her phone ringing on Bo's nightstand.
The doctor shortly noticed that Bo wasn't next to her; and in that split second Lauren ignored her phone, as she focused on the sadness that was quickly filling her heart.
Her attention snapped backed to the vibrations of the phone that echoed the room.
"Hello" Lauren answered groggily.
On the other side of the phone was a distressed woman's voice.
"Calm down. I can't understand what you're saying?" the doctor said soothingly.
The woman's voice was slightly more calm but still shaky.
"What!? Are you okay?" The doctor asked in a panic tone.
A plea could be heard from the caller.
"What? You want me to come now?" Lauren questioned; contemplated whether she should leave. The doctor paused; she could distantly hear the sopping cries from the mysterious woman begging for her to come see her.
Lauren glanced over at the empty side of the bed where Bo should be. She placed her hand down; instantly feeling that there was no warmth where the succubus body would have been sleeping, indicating to the doctor that Bo had left her side a while ago. The blonde instantly felt the heavy burden inside her heart, a feeling she was growing tired off.
"Yeah of course, I'll be there in 20 minutes." Lauren replied, before ending the call.
The doctor quickly got changed. She picked up her car keys, when she heard a familiar voice in distress.
"Tamsin" Lauren thought.
Her lips tightened, finally realising why Bo wasn't in her bed. She breathed heavily through her nose, as she headed downstairs.
So I know I didn't explain the last anchor and I'm sorry. I had every attention to put it in this chapter but I don't know if now is the right time to tell it or if Tamsin would be the one to tell Bo what it actually is. Still debating about it, but it will be told soon.
Thank you for reading :)
Shout outs
Keyatwin; Yes i'm back, sorry to have kept you waiting. Don't worry Tamsin/Brie story will progress within the next chapters, as Brie needs to give her side of the events. Definitely, I have warned Valkubus fans that their relationship will be slowly progressed because at the minute Bo isn't proving herself worthy of Tamsin. Where Brie is trying to make amends; she is fighting for our Valkyrie. So in the upcoming Chapters, Tamsin and Brie will have a talk and as you saw in Chapter 11 there is still something between them and I will be exploring that. Thank you for your lovely review :)
Talitha2:. Your feedback is very much appreciated. You're absolutely right, sorry about that, must have been annoying to keep reading that. I keep doing that, I really need to start proof reading my chapters :) I'll try to watch over using them in the future. Thank you for your kind review, I'm glad you enjoy my story :).
Guest: Happy New Year! :). Hope you have a great one. Thanks for your review. Sorry you found my writing at some points to be cheesy. This chapter was originally much longer and "throbbing" came up a lot, so I didn't want to overuse that word, so I tried to come up with something else. I'll work on that next time :). Glad you enjoyed this chapter; yes Valkubus development was definitely needed. There will be more Valkubus vs Bramsin dynamic coming up very soon.
Guest; Yes it was about time we got some Valkubus and their will be more. But I think Bo has some fighting to do on her hands, she needs to fight for our Valkyrie for once. We finally got to know a bit about the anchor. The last anchor however still needs to be explained and it won't be long. Thank you for your kind review, means a lot :)
Guest; I totally agree with you, she does need to end it with Lauren. Stay tuned to see how that will proceed; the showdown will be on the Yule chapter that I have written :)
Kaladkarenpo; I like to think this it's more of a Tamsin centric fic, but as I tell her story it involves other characters so sometimes I have to delve into them in order to make her story make sense. I think the whole season 5 seems rushed, they've crushed Valkubus because it suited the writers and claimed it was a story that needed to be told. That frustrated me because Rachel and Anna have amazing chemistry and that shines through into their characters. So for them to say Bo doesn't love Tamsin in that way after building up that tension, was ridiculous. I adore Valkubus and their will be more of them to come in this story. But right now in this fic I want to keep it as close to reality as possible because I believe anyone in Tamsin shoes wouldn't put up with Bo's behaviour; having her girlfriend to snuggle up to at night but yet gives off signals towards Tamsin when she's not actually available. Plus our Valkyrie has unfinished business with Brie, which most readers want to see how that goes. But I promise you this is a Valkubus fic, they will be end game just not an easy road for them. Thank you for your review truly means a lot :)
Neon-Rainbow80: Thank you for such a gracious review. I really glad you like how this story is progressing. I'm trying to keep it as realistic as possible. I know there is a surge for more Valkubus, and I completely understand considering how the show has gone. God I could rant on forever about that. But Tamsin deserves better you're totally right, so in this fic I will make sure Bo has to prove herself worthy and that she fights for the Valkyrie. But yes please keep waving that Bramsin flag, Tamsin was happy with Brie and that's what we all want for her character if only the writers would have given her that permanently. More Bramsin to come as Brie needs to tell her side of the story which will happen soon, maybe Tamsin will forgive her after she hears her out. Who knows? :)
