Chapter 10: Fire Invasion

(Konoha, Council chamber)

Inside Naruto, Jiraiya, Tsunade and Danzo and the two elder plus Hiashi and the Civilian Council were discussing about the operation on Ganymede station.

When Naruto told them that the group have successfully landed on Lightning-Templar Ganymede station. Tsunade asked the Grand Master if there are Kumo nin there, Naruto wasted no time telling them that there are Kumo nin and they're serving as bodyguards. Hiashi was worried that since his daughter joined in this operation, and they're in Lightning Country, The Kumo nin working there would kidnap her and use her as breeding stock. But Naruto assured the clan head that the Kumo nin there won't take advantage of his daughter and that she's in safe hands.

The discussion came to a halt when a messenger from Fire Daimyo reported that the capital is under attack by Otsutsuki forces, both puppet and human-like troops.

Naruto reported, "Hokage-sama, we're currently loading the virus into a container but we have a situation."

Danzo then shouted, "Just spit it out Uzumaki!"

"Danzo, Ganymede is under attack. Otsutsuki puppets are attacking the station. Also, Jiraiya's spy network as well as mine reported that the clan itself has resurfaced and their forces are converging towards Fire Country's towns. They're preparing on assualting the capital and attack the Fire Daimyo."

"Hmm...then we have no choice. Order our conventional forces to strike against that clan. Send everything we have Hokage-sama. ANBU,Jounin,clan members,civilians, I don't care! If they're a part of Fire Country, have them suit up and wait on the front lines."

Tsunade replied,"Alright. But the Jounin senseis as well the rookies will stay. Because if this fails, they are our last line of defense."

Danzo didn't question it. But turned to Naruto and Jiraiya.

"You two, you're still paying attention are you? You are to head towards the Fire Daimyo's palace. This is where our best troops are heading. Now there are over 300,000 Konoha Shinobi as well as a contingent of Samurai and Monks preparing for battle. Show that cursed clan that the Will of Fire will never be extinguished. Ever. Good luck you two, the fight only gets harder." Danzo said before walking out of the chambers with his two advisors.

After the meeting ended, Naruto said to Tsunade, "I for one do not trust that one-eyed war hawk granny. He'll mess this up and spin a tale of the Otsutsuki forces forcing him to retreat. Or I was some how to blame. That man is not your friend and will not rest till your dead or disgraced."

"I agree Naruto. Thanks to your and Jiraiya's spy network, I found out that despite Sarutobi-sensei disbanding ROOT, Danzo kept it alive and wants to use them to overthrow me one day."

"Anyway, it won't happen today or after the war. But it will happen."

Naruto then looked at Jiraiya.

"Let's go Pervy Sage. We have a capital to defend."

"When will you stop calling me that gaki?"

"When you stop with your perverted habits. Which means never."

This chapter is the prelude of the battle. The following after will be long,bloody and will not end well...for Konoha at least. After that Toneri will give a speech and the puppets overwhelming the Ganymede defenders. Anyway comment and review!
