CHAPTER 12

It was that time of the year. That time of the year. When you have to work your asses off to either get really good scores in impossibly tough subjects, or impress college scouts with your abnormally extraordinary physique that allows you to play a game, any game, for hours without stopping. The Geek way, or the Jock way. Even though Arizona was good at a lot of different sports, she found sooner than normal that she wanted to go to a good university the Geek way. Her grades reflected that, too. She had applied for a lot of different universities, but she wanted to stay. In the same state, atleast. She had applied for the University of Washington and Seattle University along with Johns Hopkins. Even though Arizona was aware of the fact that Johns Hopkins was a far better option for Medicine, she was personally rooting for the University of Washington or Seattle University. She wanted to stay. More than anything. For one particular person. God, she wanted to stay so bad.

Upon reaching school, Callie quickly made her way through the school corridors, looking for Arizona. When she was finally saw Arizona, her stomach flipped. Not in the good way. There, standing next to Arizona, was Lauren. Of all people. Her hand was on Arizona's arm, and Arizona just threw her head back in a hearty laugh at something Lauren had said. Callie just stood there, watching, with her eyes narrowed into slits. A green-eyed monster within her had come to life, pushing Callie to mark her territory. Walking up to the two girls standing and chatting, Callie cleared her throat. Lauren was the first to speak.

"Oh, hey Callie! I was just leaving," Lauren said, not quite daring to look Callie in the eye.

"Yeah. Hi," Callie replied abruptly, before quickly pushing Arizona against her locker and claiming her mouth in a possessively punishing kiss, pushing her tongue into the other girl's mouth. Arizona, however, saw right through it, lightly pushing Callie off, but not before gently brushing her lips against the plump ones.

"Well, see you later, Arizona. And thanks for… you know," Lauren said, slightly embarrassed by the couple's PDA.

"You're most welcome. See you around, Lauren," Arizona smiled at the other girl as she turned on her heel and left. Turning to Callie once Lauren had left, Arizona simply raised her eyebrows in question.

"What?" Callie snapped.

"Nothing," Arizona said, turning away, but not before Callie spotted the smile on her face.

"What are you chuckling at? And what did she mean back then when she said 'Thanks for you-know-what'?" Callie shot at Arizona, huffing.

"Oh my god! She thanked me for accepting her apology and understanding why she did what she did!" Arizona laughed out loud.

"What did she do now?" Callie said, her eyes narrowing once again.

"She didn't do anything this time! She apologized for… the other night," Arizona said, her throat dry as a bone at the very thought of 'the other night'.

That night. The night she finally told Callie she loved her. The night they… were intimate. Physically and emotionally.

"Why would you still talk to her after she tried to kiss you?"

"She apologized, that's why, Callie. She said it won't happen again and it won't!" Arizona said, trying to convince her now almost-angry girlfriend, but failing miserably because of the huge grin that was plastered on her face.

"Whatever," Callie huffed out, turning away from Arizona. Just then, the bell rang.

"Okay, look. I have to go now. We have all the same classes but we barely have any together. I'll see you soon. I love you," Arizona said, planting a sweet kiss on Callie's lips.

Callie couldn't help but smile and reciprocate. "I love you too," she said, before turning around and leaving for her biology class.

As Callie sped down the hall, Teddy caught up with her.

"Hey, Callie," Teddy said, jogging to catch up with the brunette.

"Oh hey, Teddy! Let's go!"

As they walked together to the classroom, curiosity got the better of Teddy. "So… I just saw you," Teddy said, hedging, beating around the bush, not sure if she should just bring up a topic that was so very personal.

"Well, Teddy, I know you like stating the obvious, but this is too much," Callie joked.

"No. I meant with Arizona…" Teddy trailed off.

"Oh." Callie hadn't thought of that. She hadn't really thought about who might or might not have seen her when she kissed Arizona out of jealousy. Then again, she did not want to keep it a secret. She loved Arizona and she wanted to show it off to anyone and everyone. Their relationship was important to her. It was a part of who she was, and Callie did not want to hide any part of who she was. "We're together," she added.

"Oh. Wow, okay. Didn't peg you as a lady lover," Teddy said.

Callie simply looked at the other girl. She hadn't pegged herself as a lady lover, either. "Arizona is… Arizona. She's very dateable," Callie said.

"Dateable?" Teddy chortled.

"Well, yeah. She's thoughtful. Boys just aren't thoughtful. She remembers the things I say. She pays attention when I speak. She's… nice. Perfect," Callie said, her face breaking into a dazzling smile as she thought about her girlfriend.

"So. She's the reason why you called it off with Samuel?" Teddy asked, as the girls took their seats next to each other in the second row.

"Pretty much."

"Does Samuel know?" Teddy asked.

Huh. Samuel had guessed that she was into someone else, but he didn't know who it was. Was it Callie's responsibility to tell him? Did she owe him that much? She did not know. "No, he doesn't," Callie answered with the best answer her mind came up with.

"Will you tell him?" Teddy whispered, for now Dr. Webber had arrived and was proceeding to write the day's topic on the board.

"I don't know. If he asks, I guess," Callie whispered back as Dr. Webber wrote the word "Genetics" in big, bold letters on the board.

The rest of the class was uneventful. Dr. Webber droned on and on about genes and heredity. As the bell rang, Callie headed back to her locker to get the books for her next class. The moment she opened it, a handwritten note slipped out onto the floor.

Picking it up, Callie read with a smile.

You're free right now. Come see me. I'll be in the school grounds, behind the north block. – A

Folding the note, Callie headed to the north block. Reaching the place, she sat on the grass, waiting for Arizona. Arizona arrived within moments, her blonde locks flying behind her in the wind, the sun reflecting off of them, giving them a golden hue. Arizona sat down on the grass next to Callie.

"Hey," Arizona said, her face breaking into an amused smile.

That smile. That smile. Callie's eyes narrowed, as she turned away from her girlfriend, remembering events that had transpired earlier that day between Arizona and Lauren and herself.

"You're going to sit facing away from me the whole time?" Arizona teased. When she did not receive a reply from Callie, she added, "I like it when you get jealous every now and then."

Turning around, and coming face to face with impossibly blue eyes, Callie huffed out, "I wasn't jealous."

"Sure, you weren't," Arizona said, smiling and gently stroked Callie's cheek with one hand.

"Ugh, okay. I was. A little bit."

Laughing out loud, Arizona said, "A little bit? You pushed me up against my locker and practically marked me as your property!"

"Okay, yes. I was jealous. But that was someone who kissed you even though they knew you have a girlfriend," Callie said, her head subconsciously leaning into Arizona's hand.

"And I liked it. It sort of… shows me how much you love me," Arizona said softly.

Smiling, Callie leaned into her girlfriend, soundly kissing her on the lips. When the kiss started to get a lot more intense considering the environment they were in, Arizona pulled back. "N-not here!"

Callie, however, had other plans. Pushing her girlfriend back by the shoulders, Callie straddled her hips, forcing her thigh between Arizona's legs. Nipping at the ivory neck underneath her, Callie applied more pressure on the bundle of nerves with her thigh.

"God, Calliope, not- please, we could get caught- someone might come-"

"Someone is going to come, alright," Callie added, feeling ultra-confident as she watched the girl writhe underneath her. "You'll never look at another person that way again."

Arizona pushed herself up on her elbows, preventing Callie from kissing her further. "Wow… does it really bother you that much?" When she did not receive a reply, she quietly sat up, with her girlfriend in her lap, still straddling her. "Oh my god. I love you, Calliope. You're the only one I'll ever want. I'm so in love with you, baby," Arizona said, pulling her girlfriend into a hug.

Callie's heart fluttered at the words, all her insecurities washed away. "I love you too, Arizona. So much," she said, still wrapped in a warm and loving hug.
