Chapter 12

"Super! Coup de burst!", The moment Franky yells those words, Jun immediately grabs hold of something to keep her steady. To her relief she notices that the ship flies away from the island in an enormous speed, away from the marines and away from Hotaru. Finally she is free, there is no need to hide anymore. She awakens from her pondering by a chuckle. She looks up and sees what she grabbed to keep her balance, or rather who. Embarrassed, she stares into Zoro's visible eye, which is twinkling in amusement. She is still amazed how someone who can be so cold towards enemies, can be so open and carefree towards people he cares about.

She realizes her hand is still on his chest, so she tries to pull it back, only to be stopped by Zoro. "You're not going anywhere" he growls softly. She wants to protest, but he takes that opportunity to capture her lips. It feels like time stopped flowing around them, making them unaware of anything around them. The only feeling that matters is that of their lips slowly moving against each other, strongly expressing all the emotions whirling inside of them. Zoro gently nibbles her bottom lip, earning himself a gasp as reaction. Straightforward as he is, he takes it as an invitation to deepen the kiss. Instinctively he presses her against the wooden wall, capturing her body with his.

"Shishishishi" The familiar laugh causes their eyes to flicker open, staring at each other with a shocked expression. Slowly they turn their heads and notice Luffy staring intently at them, a huge grin decorating his face. "So will you two make us a new nakama?" he asks. Immediately Jun pushes Zoro away from her, her face turning beet red. She tries to form a reply, but no sound leaves her mouth. Even the swordsman is too stunned to answer. Suddenly a fist seems to come out of nowhere, bumping the captains head. "You moron! Can't you see you're interrupting their moment?" Nami yells aggressively. Upon seeing Luffy's confused face, she sighs. "You're hopeless."

Luffy is sitting on the ground, clearly not understanding what he did wrong. Suddenly he decides to give up. "Yosh! Let's hold a party for Jun joining our crew! Captain's orders!" "Wait a minute! Since when am I a crew member?" Jun reacts. "Shishishi... Since just now!" Luffy replies with a big grin. "Sanji! Meat!" the rubber boy yells while bouncing enthusiastically towards the cook. Jun is left there wide-eyed, unable to go against Luffy's decision. She hears a roar of laughter and knows it comes from Zoro. She pouts at him. "Don't look at me like that! That's how Luffy recruits his nakama! It's not possible to escape now." She smiles softly. "I'm not planning to escape."

An hour later the party was on full swing. Nami is chatting animatedly with Robin, the older woman responding in her usual calm demeanor. Sanji is serving the ladies some finger food and kicking his gluttonous captain at the same time. Brook is creating the mood by putting his heart and soul into the party music, even though he doesn't have a heart (yohoho skull joke!). Franky is swiftly moving on the music, loudly bragging about his Super dance moves. Usopp is telling a story about the time he defeated a vicious pirate in a dance battle and that while dancing with a wooden leg. Chopper's eyes are shining with admiration by the story, unable to see through the lie.

Everyone seems to be having a great time. However, if you look closer, you would notice that the newest crew member is lost in thoughts. Zoro joins her side and gives her one of the two bottles of sake.

"What's wrong? Already regretting your decision?" Zoro asks with a smirk when Luffy and Chopper pass them, dancing with sticks in their nose. "I was just wondering... Will I fit in enough? I don't have a dream like all of you." Jun replies with an uncertain voice. "Doesn't matter. You have the ability to create dreams." Jun almost has to laugh of how cheesy that sounded. She ponders a bit on his words and then softly smiles. "You're right. We all have... incredible dreams."

Hi folks! This is the end I imagined the moment I started this story. For now, I will first focus on my other ongoing story. Maybe I'll make in the future a follow up story for this, but that depends on you guys. Anyone interested?
