I do not own Degrassi.

Clare's POV:

I held onto Eli for an hour before I decided to get up and get some food. I walked into the kitchen and popped a pop tart into the toaster oven and pressed the button down. I walked across the kitchen and grabbed a glass to get some water with. Walking over to the sink, I glance out the window. What I see shocks me. Red and blue lights flashing non- stop at my parent's house. The cops were there. Just as my pop tart was toasted, the doorbell rang.

I dropped my two pop tarts onto a plate and made my way to the front door. I had a good idea who might be on the other side but I wasn't one-hundred percent sure.

Ding-dong.

I slowly opened the door, and I was right. It was the police standing in front of me. I stood in shock for thirty seconds before one of them said,

"Is there a Mr. Goldsworthy here?"

"Yes, he is right over there." I said pointing to the couch.

"Thank you, may we come in? We need to question Mr. Goldsworthy about an assault that was reported earlier today." The officer said.

"Sure please come in." I gestured them to the couch.

Eli was had his eyes closed and his head phones on. I gently nudged him, and his eyes popped open. I giggled because he looked so shocked.

"Eli, the police have a few questions to ask you." I said to Eli.

"Hmmm…alright?" Eli said.

"I'm guessing you must be Mr. Goldsworthy?" One of the officers said.

"Yes, that's me. Please call me Eli." Eli said.

"Alright Eli, do you know a K.C. Guthrie?" Officer said.

"Yes, he is Clare's ex-boyfriend." Eli said.

"He claims you attacked him today. Is any of this true or relevant?" Officer said.

"He broke into our house and tried to hit my pregnant girlfriend. So yes, I did hit him but it was in self- defense." Eli said.

"He broke into your home? He didn't mention any of this in his statement." Officer said.

"Yes, I left Clare home to sleep while I went to go get lunch. While I was gone, he broke into the front door. When I got home I saw him hovered over Clare getting ready to hit her. I could not let her get hurt again." Eli said.

"What do you mean by 'again' Eli?" Officer said.

"I think maybe Clare would want to tell you." Eli said.

"Alright Clare, would you please explain what Eli is saying." Officer said.

I sat there for an hour explaining the whole 'K.C. incident' to them. Their faces were in shock by the whole thing, and I really didn't blame them. I knew by telling them, it would make K.C. get into trouble, and that is exactly what needed to happen. A year or so of abuse was enough. He can't get away with it forever.

Eli's POV:

I sat there for a little over an hour hearing every gruesome detail of Clare and K.C.'s relationship. It made me cringe just thinking about him toughing her; about him hitting her. She was so sweet and innocent. I just didn't get why he would do such a thing to her.

I was pretty zoned out until I heard something that struck my interest. Clare had said K.C. had been in juvie before he went to Degrassi. It was like a light went off in my head. According to Clare, K.C. was in juvie for grand theft auto, and assault. That was all I needed to ask the officers a serious question.

"With a record like K.C.'s will a case hold up against him in court if Clare wanted to press charges?"

"A lawyer would have to get access to his record, and there would have to be some sort of physical evidence against K.C. on Clare for a case to hold up." Office said.

"I have pictures and my first doctors visit bill. Will any of that help?" Clare asked.

"Pictures of what exactly?" Officer said.

"Of my broken wrist, bloody lips, black eyes. That sort of thing." Clare said.

"That might just help you win the case. Well thank you for your time, we need to get down to the head- quarters and process all if the new information. We will call you if anything changes." Officer said.

I said a polite goodbye, and sighed in relief. They originally came here to arrest me and accuse me of something K.C. did. I am so glad that they believed Clare and me. We did nothing wrong, and we should not be punished for defending ourselves.

Clare and I sat and talked the rest of the night about K.C. and all of the bad things he has done. She promised me tomorrow she would go over to her parent's house and retrieve the pictures of her being beaten and broken. I didn't want to see but I knew I had to.

No POV: The next day: School:

Clare and Eli woke up a little bit later than normal. This was their first day of school together. Eli was going to be attending Degrassi with Clare. He couldn't be happier that he would be able to look after her all day. To keep her away from K.C. Eli would stop at no costs to protect her and their baby. The two most important people to him.

After an hour of getting ready, Clare and Eli make it out the door to head off to school. They decided to take Clare's car because Eli's would stick out too much. Clare was perfectly alright with that. Clare slid into the driver's seat and starred at Eli. She waited patiently for him to get in. Thirty seconds later, Eli had yet to get in. Clare sighed and pushed the electric window button. The passenger window opened.

"We're going to be late. We still have to register you yet." Clare shouted out the window.

"I know that, I just wanted to drive." Eli said starring at Clare.

"Sorry, but this is my car. My car, I drive, it's as simple as that." Clare said.

"Fine, but tomorrow we're taking my hearse to school." Eli said while getting into Clare's car.

"We'll take turns driving to school, okay?" Clare said while pulling out of the garage.

"Fine." Eli mumbled.

Clare smirked to herself and continued the ten minute drive to school.

Finally at school, Clare parked in her normal spot in the back of the parking lot. Her and Eli got out and walked hand in hand into the large brick building. Clare really didn't want to leave Eli alone on his first day here, so she went with him to register for his classes.

An hour of waiting, Eli finally got his schedule. Clare quickly grabbed his schedule and looked it over. A small smile peered on her face when she saw he was in all of her classes. This was perfect, she would never be alone with K.C. Eli would be there for her all day, every day.

Clare's POV:

I was so glad to see that Eli had the same schedule as me. It made me feel safer. I had three classed with K.C., so having Eli in them too made me feel 100 percent better. I finally felt a little safer walking in the halls of Degrassi.

Eli and I went to our first three classes together. He was frowned upon by most of the student by what he wore. It only made me like him more because he only shrugged at them and kept to himself. That was something I could never do. I cared way too much about what others thought about me.

Fourth period was lunch. I had the same lunch period as Adam, so we usually went to The Dot and ate there until fifth. I informed Eli about my routine, and he smiled at me and said that was fine with him.

He and I headed out the front doors of Degrassi and went to my car. Adam and I usually car pooled, but this time we didn't. My car was a two-seater so Adam would have to take his truck and meet us there. I texted him and Eli and I headed to the restaurant. This time Eli drove; only because he stole my keys.

At The Dot:

"Hey Adam." Eli and I said.

"Hey guys, I heard about the whole police thing." Adam said.

"What? How?" I said.

"K.C. was talking to Jenna about it today and I ease dropped on them." Adam said.

"What exactly did you hear?" Eli said.

"Only that you beat him up for going to visit Clare." Adam answered.

"That is so far from the truth." I said.

"Then what is the truth?" Adam asked.

I told Adam the same story I told many others over the past day. It was starting to really bug me. I hated re-living those painful memories. They haunt me enough without the whole world knowing. It almost seemed like people got joy in watching me suffer. I think the only person who didn't enjoy it was Eli. He did everything to protect me and the baby. Adam and Ali were the only two at Degrassi who knew about the baby. I didn't want everyone jumping to conclusions about my baby. I knew they would eventually figure out I was pregnant and it was Eli's, but for now I just wanted to keep it on the down low. The less people know, the safer it is for my new small family.

Adam's POV:

It was really good to see how well Clare and Eli were getting along. It almost seemed like they were sole-mates or something. I am not much for sappy stuff, but this is an exception. They were truly meant to be together. Anyone can clearly see that.

After Clare and Eli explained the K.C. situation, I instantly felt stupid for jumping to conclusions. I can't believe I believed what K.C. was saying. And from the looks of it Jenna didn't either. Come to think of it she was almost flinching when K.C. was talking. I wonder if he was doing the same thing to her like he was to Clare. I don't like Jenna, but I don't want to see any girl gets hit. Not ever.

Clare fell silent after we finished talking about K.C. I knew she must have been deep in thought because she didn't even really touch her food. I decided to strike up a conversation with her.

"So Clare, did you work on your take-home science lab over the weekend?" Her eyes bulged out of her head for a minute before speaking.

"Oh my god, I completely forgot. I am going to fail!" Clare semi yelled.

"Calm down Clare, we will figure this out together. Actually, I will tell the teacher you were helping me move in this weekend and I distracted you the whole time. I promise I will take the blame for it." Eli said.

"I cannot let you do that. This is the strictest teacher at Degrassi; she will rip you apart at the seams." Clare said.

"That's true man. Mrs. Candle is ridiculously harsh." I said.

"We will figure something out." Eli said before he continued eating.

I stared at Clare for another minute before I ate the rest of my burger. We finished our food, and I paid since it was my turn.

Clare's POV: Back at school.

Mrs. Candle is going to murder me! She already hates me for reasons unknown. I just had to make it through her class and I will be fine. My anxiety was really acting up lately and I am afraid I will have a little episode in front of the whole class. I know that might embarrass Eli, so I had to keep myself under control. If only people knew hard that really was for me to do. Nearly impossible, actually.

I stood in front of the science classroom ready to get yelled at. I took a deep breath and walked inside. Instantly I saw Mrs. Candle writing notes on the white board. She turned to look at me and said,

"I hope you finished the lab Clare, it is worth thirty-percent of your over-all grade."

"I was hoping I could get an extension on it. I had some problems this weekend and I didn't get it done." I said.

"Why would I give you an extension and not everyone else?" She said.

"I really need it. I had to go to the um doctor to make sure my baby was alright." I lied through my teeth.

"Oh. Well I will give you until Wednesday then. Please make sure you finish it on time then." She smiled.

"Thank you so much, I won't let you down." I sighed.

I sat through class feeling anxious. I have grown to be a liar. I never used to lie; I was very straight forward with people before. My breathing hitched towards the end of class. I knew I was having a panic attack. I haven't had one in a long time, but when I do they can be bad.

Finally class let out and I bolted out the door. Eli followed me closely. We still had three classes left but I just couldn't stand it here anymore. I went to my locker and proceeded to get my things so I could just go home. I was calming down when Eli finally caught up to me.

"Clare, what's wrong?" He asked.

"I just can't handle anything today." I said.

"What are you talking about?" Eli said.

"I lied to the teacher." I said.

"It isn't that big of a deal Clare, we all lie sometimes." Eli said.

"I never lie, I was always punctual and never lied to any of my teachers to get an extension. I feel really ashamed." I admitted.

"You have no reason to feel bad. I heard what you told the teacher, it wasn't a complete lie." Eli said.

"I just feel really guilty is all." I said.

"Let's get out of here and let you calm down a little. We can try this again tomorrow." Eli said.

It hit me then, I did lie. I led about the K.C. abuse; I lied about the whole ordeal up until now. I really was a liar, and I just now admitted it to myself.

We walked out of school three periods early. I just needed to leave for a little while and Eli understood that. I was having too much of a melt- down to drive home so Eli took the liberty of doing so. A ten minute drive, and we were sitting in our drive way. I took a deep breath and headed inside the house.

Eli's POV:

Clare was really freaking out over nothing. I was hoping this wasn't something that happens on a regular basis. She could really end up hurting herself or even slip into a depression if she keeps going like this. It wasn't like she told a huge lie; she just tried to save herself from failing school.

I unlocked the front door and Clare walked in and plopped onto the couch. I came in and shut and locked the door behind me. I didn't want another K.C. incident. Not today. Clare was slowly starting to cry, so I decided to go sit next to her. She needed me right now, and I was going to be there for her.

"Are you alright baby?" I ask.

"I don't know anymore. I thought K.C. and I were done with this. That is putting a big amount of pressure on me, and I can't believe I lied to get a grade." She said sobbing.

"It will be alright; you will finish the assignment and forget about it. As for K.C., we will handle him together. But first, is anyone home over at the main house?" I said.

"No, my parents don't get home until around six or seven." She said.

"Can we go over there and get the pictures, we need to call the lawyer and start the proceedings." I said.

"Sure, let me just go grab the keys." Clare said.

I watched as Clare disappeared into the bedroom. She came back a minute later with a key and we headed out the front door.

No POV:

Clare was having a rough time dealing with all of the obstacles in her life. She was slowly starting to slip into her old ways. She needed to find a way out, to find a way to calm herself a little so she doesn't cause any more harm to other people.

Clare and Eli walked over to the main house in silence. To help calm her nerves Clare grabbed Eli's hand. He smiled at her and they made their way to the front door. Clare unlocked it and they made their way to Clare's old room.

Not much remained in her room, her bed, some posters and a few pieces of furniture. Nothing much of a room left. Clare walked into the room and looked around for a second, she glanced over at Eli and said,

"I sort of miss my room, but I love living with you way more." Clare said sweetly.

"I love living with you too. I don't really miss my house." Eli said taking Clare's hand.

"I have to go get the pictures now." Clare said walking away.

"Oh no you don't." Eli said pulling Clare down onto the bed.

"Eli!" Clare screeched at him.

"What? I just wanted to kiss you." Eli said innocently.

Clare and Eli kissed for a few minutes before clothes started to be shed. Clare was almost naked when she heard a quiet noise come from the hall. She thought it was probably just the maid or something so Clare didn't bother to go check. By this point both Clare and Eli forgot about the pictures and focused only on what they were doing.

Eli was completely naked and about to enter Clare when the door to Clare's room opened. Immediately Clare and Eli looked up to see an angry Mr. Edwards. Clare pulled the blanket up to her chin and Eli covered up his waist. A moment of silence Mr. Edwards spoke.

"What are you two doing in here? We gave you a house to do this in." Mr. Edwards tried to say calmly.

"Daddy, we came over to get some pictures to take over to the lawyer." Clare said.

"What are you talking about? What pictures? Why do you need a lawyer?" Mr. Edwards asked.

All of a sudden Clare realized she didn't tell her parents. She would have to explain about K.C. again. She wanted to keep it to herself. It was too humiliating to tell them, they would look down on her or something. That was something she couldn't bear to deal with.

Instead of speaking, Clare grabbed her shirt and pants and dressed under the blankets quickly. She ran out of the house without looking back.

A/N: What's happening to Clare? Why is she all of a suddenly panicking? Where did she run to? Will Eli find her? All of those will be answered in the next chapter. I know this chapter was sort of slow, but the next one will have a bunch more action in it. It will be mostly in Clare's POV. The future chapters will have a lot more to do with Clare's health, and the K.C. trial. It will also have to do with Eli and the baby. I will make the next chapter or two a little fluffier, but I do love the drama. So here you go, as requested a new chapter. If I get enough reviews, I will update sooner. I love you all and thank you so much for the reviews I received. You all make me happy! Please keep up the lovely reviews!
