Author's Note:
Yay! New chapter!
Also I apologize in advance cause I've never really written romance stuff before…..bear with me please!
Her body locks up and she holds her breath, her pulse racing just below his mouth she feels fear crippling her limbs as she envisions him slicing open her throat and- He wouldn't do that…..he won't kill her.
Brittany manages to find her voice and she tightens her grip on his shirt as she feels his canines slip from her skin, she gasps when his tongue rasps over the wounds and she fights the urge to pull him closer yet she also wants to shove him away….."Alvin?"
The munk releases her quickly as if she was poisonous, his wide eyes meet hers and she sees a flicker of fear pass across the pools of gold as he wipes his mouth clean, "Oh gosh I'm so sorry I didn't-"
"Why?" Brittany cuts him off, raising her hand up to feel the numbing area of her neck she ghosts her fingers over the healing wound, unsure how to feel as she watches a wave of emotion pass across the munk's face.
Longing, fear, confusion…..they pass over his features before he settles with confusion, obviously not understanding that she honestly doesn't know what just happened….."I Marked you….I shouldn't have, not without your permission, I just started thinking of the pack and how we'd be strangers and they wouldn't know…." His voice trails off and she watches as he tenses, obviously fighting down something as his paws clench into fists.
"I didn't want someone to take you from me,"
Her eyes widen and she keeps her palm pressed against the Mark, a mix of fury and…she's not sure what else is lingering in her chest but she settles for the bubbling anger, "Y-you mean this tells them I'm yours?! I'm not your property Alvin! You can't just claim people!" Her voice raises slowly as she glares darkly at the munk.
His own expression sours and his golden eyes harden beneath his pinched eyebrows, "You're not property Brittany, the Mark simply means that we're mates, you're taken already," He says slowly, trying to backpedal and soothe the angered girl.
"Taken?" She echoes, seething as she crosses the short distance between them, "I didn't ask for this Alvin, I don't even know what my feelings are for you yet and still you act like this is going to work! Love takes time, you can't just rush me into all this!"
"I'm not rushing you! If I was rushing you I'd be all over you right now," He snarls, looming over her as his own anger takes hold, he backs her up slowly, "You have no idea how this all works and that's why I'm being patient, you didn't ask for any of this and I know that too. I know you hate us, hate werewolves and I've been trying to give you time but it's killing me," Her back presses against the far wall and she's trapped between a seething wolf and the cool plaster behind her, he isn't done though.
"Killing you?" She echoes, her anger long gone her voice sounds small and weak and he grits his teeth, trying to quell his anger.
"Every day and night I feel this pull towards you, I want nothing more in this world than to protect you, to make you happy and keep you safe, that's my life now," She feels as if her heart is being squeezed beneath a hand as his eyes soften to the color of warm caramel and she lets him brush his fingers against her cheek, she doesn't even flinch when he leans closer, slowly, as if she might run if he makes any sudden moves.
"You're my sun and my moon and I can't imagine living without you…..it's frustrating mostly," She can't help but scowl at his words and he cracks a smirk, flashing his teeth as his eyes twinkle with amusement, "I've never been one to get close to people, and the fact that I now want to spend every moment with you confuses me….but part of me knows this is right and refuses to listen to reason,"
Her breath hitches and she feels color pool in her cheeks as his breath fans across her lips, his eyes smoldering beneath his eyelids as he lets their lips barely meet, the sensation makes her fur prickle and her skin flares with goose bumps, "But you keep pushing me away," He moves back an inch and she feels embarrassed when she actually leans towards his retreating mouth.
"And it hurts," He rubs his thumb across her flushed cheeks, watching her intently he smiles, but it's sad…lost, like he knows something she doesn't, "I'll live though, so long as you're alive and well I can live with rejection," He drops his hand and moves swiftly out of the room leaving her dazed and fighting with the sudden hole in her heart.
The car ride was pretty boring and Brittany grew bored of the stories and mindless chatting and eventually fell a sleep.
She wakes confused for a moment but remembers that she was in a car, sitting up she realizes in alarm that she's the only one still in the car.
Someone taps on her window and she turns quickly to glare at the munk waving innocently at her through the glass, he crooks his finger and motions for her to get out, rolling her eyes Brittany opens her door and climbs out.
"Are we there?" She asks noticing that her sisters are helping Simon unload the trunk, she frowns and looks around.
Simon parked off the side of the road, having pulled his car down a small dirt road nearly overgrown with plant life and they're completely surrounded by trees.
"We have to walk the rest of the way, they don't allow cars into the village," Simon explains, handing her a backpack, "We can't bring all our things but you should have enough stuff in this bag," He assures as she nods and slips the bag onto her back, tightening the straps as she hears the faint songs of birds around them.
Jeanette frowns and walks up to her as Alvin and Simon help Eleanor with her bag, "What happened?" Brittany jerks away from her sisters fingers ghosting over her neck.
"Nothing, geez," Brittany lifts her shirt a little higher, annoyed that he didn't bite just a tad lower….the top of the Mark can be seen when she wears most of her clothes, she had taken a look at it before they left and she was surprised to see that it actually wasn't that bad.
It looks more like a scar than anything…..and she decided not to ask why it healed so fast and why it scarred, Alvin said it's a Mark so it's something special to werewolves….."Are you sure? I've never seen it before….." Jeanette's concerned gaze flickers over her older sister's face, looking for any weakness there and hoping she'd let her know.
But Brittany is stubborn, "It's nothing Jean, just drop it ok?" She huffs, glaring at her sister as she steps past her to investigate the road, trying to see where Simon pulled off the road…the highway is blocked from view by thick undergrowth and the wide branches of the trees around them.
"Ok it's not a long walk, and the longer we stay back here hiding the more agitated we'll make them," Alvin starts walking, breaking through the brush line he is quickly swallowed up by the forest and everyone quickly hurries after him.
He was right, and soon Brittany and scent other wolves on the wind, she feels her hackles rise with unease at the overwhelming scents that mark the woods around them and she nearly jumps out of her skin when wolves as big as horses melt of the woods, surrounding their little group they walk along the edges, escorting them the last few steps Brittany feels her eyes widen as the woods suddenly break and a town rises up before them.
It's bigger than she thought, and more human too, she edges closer to her sisters as hundreds of people turn to watch them with nothing but curious glances and soft mumbling.
"Simon!" A small munk breaks through the crowd, bright green eyes wide as he spots them, he's dressed in a simple green shirt and pants and Brittany and see the sheathe of a knife strapped to his hip as he races towards them, he's a bit bigger than his brothers but that doesn't slow him down as he wraps his arms around Simon.
"I thought you were kidding when you said you'd visit!" He smiles up at the bespectacled munk who hugs him back happily.
"Of course not, I wanted to see if you needed any help with your research, plus I'd like to thank the people who have been letting you stay and have been keeping you safe," Simon ruffles the munk's blonde hair making him giggle.
Alvin wraps his arms around the shorter munk from behind and lifts him clear off the ground, "Teddy! Look at you!" He cheers swinging the boy around until he cries out happily.
"Alvin!?" He turns to face his older brother once he's back on his feet and he embraces him quickly, tears in his happy green eyes, "I thought we'd never get to see you again…" He sniffs and hides his face in Alvin's shoulder.
"Oh so these are your siblings? I see they brought a few friends as well, welcome!" Brittany jumps at the booming voice and she turns to see the owner stride towards them, arms open in greeting his merry gray eyes crinkled at the edges with the force of his grin, his tanned face is edged with wrinkles and his dark hair and bread have faint streaks of gray through them.
He claps Simon on the shoulder and nearly knocks him over, "Oh sorry lad, you're Simon….? Theodore talks about you guys all the time, he loves his family," The man's large belly quakes with laughter that quickly fades as he turns his attention to Alvin.
The two stare intently at each other and Brittany feels a sudden overwhelming power ripple through the air, sending a sharp chill down her spine she inhales as the people around them take cautious steps back.
Alvin moves Theodore behind him and stands tall, not once breaking eye contact with the large man who flashes a sharp toothed grin, "Ah another pure blood…care for a fight huh?"
Brittany feels the color drain from her face and she rushes towards them, putting herself between them she glares up at the stranger as she places a hand on Alvin's chest, "A fight? I thought you were glad to see us?" She snaps, fighting the urge to look away as the man's eyes meet hers.
She holds his gaze as she feels her wolf begging her to look down, obey the alpha, but she's not part of this pack, and she feels no need to look down and the man seems startled to find that she hasn't looked away yet.
His nostrils flare and he tilts his head slightly, like a curious dog, "Huh…..strange," He leans closer and she wrinkles her nose at the strong musky odor emanating off him, he really needs a shower.
Behind her she hears Alvin growl loudly, the sound vibrating beneath her palm and she turns to him annoyed, "What?" She snaps frowning at him.
Before Alvin can answer the man finally seems to realize something and he laughs loudly, the sound makes her ears ring slightly, "Well! It looks like we not only have another pure blood with us, but we have a Shifter!"
The people around them roar with joy and Brittany frowns in confusion, why are they so excited?
"We'll hold off the fight, and instead let's have a feast!"
The pack cheers in agreement and Brittany stumbles as she's suddenly surrounded by strangers, cut off from her sisters and her friends she looks around at the new faces as they usher her towards a tall cabin, "W-Wait what's going on?"
"We have to get you ready! It's not every day we have a Shifter with us, you need to eat, and then we'll have the pleasure of seeing you fight!" A woman explains excitedly, pulling Brittany's hair loose the chipette frowns and glares at her momentarily.
"W-wait, I'm fighting?!"
Tried to make this chapter longer without dragging it on, I hope everyone enjoyed! I'll be working on this story along with the one-shots and a possible new story so keep your eyes open
