Hello all :) So sorry been a little MIA... Just back from another trip where my internet access sucked and couldn't get to you sooner. Any guys that might be reading... I know nothing about cars, so if I got something wrong... sorry. Not that I went into details but you'll see what I mean. I know it's kind of a filler chapter but I will update again this week to make up for that.

Anyways... I hope you enjoy either way and PLEASE review... Love to hear from YOU :)

Chapter 12

As Angel left his parents home… he began to replay this morning's events in his head.

Buffy had been sound asleep and her tiny body was entangled with his. He didn't even know how'd been possible that they'd actually fallen asleep in each other's arms and not have moved at all throughout the night. He smiled at the memory…

He'd gotten up a to make her breakfast only to figure out the he'd never cooked anything in his entire life, so he pulled out some fruit, yogurt, juice, and coffee. He'd taken the tray to the bed and they snuggled up talking about work, family, friends, etc.

He'd been sad to have to get ready to leave for work, but she also needed to leave and make her last scheduled appointment at the Dance Association. Reluctantly they got ready for their day ahead, but not without taking a nice long intimate shower together… that of course escalated to him making love to her there…

After dropping her at school in the morning and arranging transportation against her reluctance, he'd gone straight to Tiffany's and picked out the ring. He hadn't even officially told her that he loved her and yet something had possessed him to go by and pick out the ring. He really thought it'd been just to see, but when the sales woman presented the ring he now carried in his pocket, he knew it was perfect and without hesitation, he'd bought it.

Angel wasn't sure when he'd be proposing, but he felt that if he carried it and the moment was right… then he'd just go ahead and pop the question there. He grinned… today was to be a hell of a day. Tonight at the dinner party he'd finally bring someone home to meet his crazy family, that he deemed worthy of the woman he wanted by his side.

At the O'Donnell's Offices…

Angel and Lindsey walked out of the conference room together. The last of the legalities had just been signed to break ground in the properties that he had just acquired. They'd make for a great addition in the chain of business that his family's empire had always been building.

"Thanks Linds…" they shook hands.

"Of course Angel…" he looked at the time, "I will catch you later; I have another meeting to get to…"

Angel nodded and walked away. Now that he had Buffy and a certain question in mind that he was sure she wouldn't refuse, he actually liked the guy. He was one of the top lawyers in the city after all and they'd understood each other perfectly.

That afternoon, he'd practically walked in with a skip in his step and humming while taking meetings and calls. He felt so far out that he was sure he wanted to skip all formalities and just go ahead and marry her like right now. But it was bad enough that he felt this much for her now and to just jump into this and elope… his family would probably have a fit and disown him.

His office phone went off at that moment and he picked it up. Only family and close friends had the number to his direct line so he knew it'd be someone close.

"Angel O'Donnell here…" he answered.

"Angel…" Buffy smiled, "its Buffy…"

"Hello gorgeous… how was your meeting…?"

"It was horrible…" she said sounding too happy for it to be negative.

"Okay…" he answered not knowing to what to make of it.

"I have three offers to join three of the most prestigious dance companies now and today… I got a job offer to stay at the university and teach…" she said clearly troubled.

"I see…" Angel responded. They'd vaguely talked about the future, they hadn't want to discuss it in full because that meant talking about the future between them and neither one of them was ready to face that. It seemed destiny had a different plan.

"Did you want to talk about it…?" he asked reluctantly, "I can take you to lunch and we can…"

"No… that's okay…" she said into the phone, "I'll be seeing you tonight for your family's dinner party. Let's focus on that, I want them to like me…" she added changing the subject.

"Alright…" he said. It's not like he was going to push, "and they will like you… they'll love you…" he assured.

Buffy giggled, "Miss you…" she said, "I'll see you at 5:30pm?"

Angel chuckled, "I miss you more… and yes, 5:30pm…" he agreed and they hung up.

"Yes mother… I will be attending the O'Donnell's dinner party with you…" Drusilla said into the phone as she stared at Spike put on the tux. She gasped at the sight of what this man was doing to her… her feelings were becoming something confusing. She figured it was because of the sex.

"You sure I have to wear this bloody thing pet?" Spike questioned.

She raised her finger to make him be quiet, "Yes bring your invitation me and a friend will meet you there…" she paused, "yes… talk to you in a little bit. Toodles."

She turned to Spike, "Yes you have to wear it, it's a black tie event…"

"Fine…" he huffed, "but I don't like it…"

"You don't have to…" she answered, "now wait outside while I change. We'll have to leave soon…"

He raised an eyebrow at her, but didn't care. He'd wait for her so they could finally put their plan into motion. Though something inside him, was beginning to nick at him… he wasn't so sure he wanted Buffy back after all.

At Hampton Hall…

Angel pulled up to the curve of her building in his Acura Scorpion HX. He adored his car… It had been the only female in his life that he had true affection for. And yes, he referred to his car as a she. He never drove his car as there was never enough time for him to be in it, which is why he relied on their car service riding in private cars or limos.

Not even one Drusilla Kinsley had set foot in this car… he felt his car sacred and they had just never been in that chapter of his life, but with Buffy… he wanted to give her everything, the world if possible. He wanted to give her all he had, this having nothing to do with money.

He laughed as he remembered Dru asking when he was going to take her out on a ride, but he'd always find a way to get out of the topic, mainly by agreeing to make an appearance with her annoying friends. Since being seen with him was her top priority.

Buffy noticed a very handsome guy getting out of their vehicle… her heart fluttered at the sight of recognizing him. She wondered if there would be a time when she wouldn't feel this excited at seeing him. The moment he neared the entrance, her heart almost stopped. That nice Armani suit fitted him perfectly. No one should be allowed to look that deliciously sinful, she thought.

She'd had trouble picking out of dress for tonight as she knew this night was important. She was going to meet Angel's parents, and meeting them was like meeting the royal family of the business world. She had not taken that into consideration when they'd first began dating, but then Willow explained all about his family history, their traditions, and what an acquaintance with them meant… she about almost flipped out. What if they thought she wasn't good enough for him?

The doors of his black Scorpion opened upward smoothly and he stepped out, adjusting his tux's jacket. He walked up to the dorms door ready to head upstairs to get her, when he noticed her coming towards him already… he froze.

She was stunning… actually stunning didn't even begin to describe the goddess of the woman making her way to him. The dress was demure looking… a deep magenta that made her skin look a delicious creamy tan. It was spaghetti strapped, straight lined on her chest, fitted perfectly to her body except for the slid from her right thigh to the tip of her toes where her she wore silver looking heels. She was clutching at a small color matching hand bag as her eyes sparkled with affection at him. She paused right in front of him to turn around slowly for him to admire the rest of her dress.

His breath hitched.

The dress was backless… it hanged kind of lose in a 'U' shape adding a sensual effect to the dress. If it weren't because they were going to be late if they didn't leave now; Angel thought that he'd want to march her right up to her room and take her right there and then…

"Breath taking…" he whispered, avoiding his last thought.

"Not too bad yourself mister…" she smiled shyly.

"Ready to go…" he offered her his arm.

She nodded walking towards him taking it. They reached the car and she gasped at the doors opened up like wings.

"Neat huh…?" he eyed her, helping her in.

"Yeah…" she agreed. She may not have known a lot about cars but she knew enough to know that this must have probably been more than expensive.

He jumped into the driver's side smiling at her expectantly…

"What?" she questioned.

"Open the glove compartment…" he asked her.

She looked at him questionably, but did as told… inside lay a single, short trimmed red rose. She picked it up smiling as she put it up to her nose…

"Mmm…" she smiled; "thank you…" she then leaned across to place a tender kiss on his lips as she lightly nibbled at his lower lip, him retuning the gesture.

He grunted slightly in pleasure, as the action partly surprised him. He was so use to Dru complaining about kissing before events as he might ruin her make up; but Buffy didn't seem to care. All that seemed to matter was him and he loved her for that. Well that… and the simple fact that things like a simple rose could make her smile that big.

Drusilla, Spike and her mother stepped out of their vehicle at the entrance of the O'Donnell's residence… Spike pretending to be the gentleman escorted her mother in as Dru noticed her best friend Kate approaching in their vehicle.

By the time Kate appeared by her friend's side as Gunn made his way inside, she asked her…

"Isn't that Angel's car pulling up…? The one none us have ever really see him drive…"

Dru gazed in the direction, "It is…" she answered, "but he's probably alone-" she then glared… in the passenger seat sat a blonde woman who looked quite familiar.

Kate noticed her friend's death stare and she grabbed her by the arm, "Come on sweetie, let's grab a drink…"

Dru followed reluctantly. The scene angered her because he'd made her feel like she'd never been good enough. Now here he was, bringing a girl he hadn't been with that long like it was the most normal thing in the world.

Isa heard murmurs from the guests that the young O'Donnell had arrived with a pretty asset by his side. She rolled her eyes at the last part, but made her way to find her husband so they could go meet who could very much possibly be… her future daughter in law.

Buffy had been in awe the moment the car had turned into the private sector were these houses were… it was nothing but mansion after mansion. When they had reached the end of the road… the last largest house they drove into, seemed to be the one they were going to. Worry began to develop inside her… god she hoped they liked her, because she sure as hell was head over heels about their son.

At the entrance of the house where they had a valet taking the cars back, everyone seemed to stare intently at them pulling up. Like they were trying to figure out who it was he was with… it seemed there were more than just Angel's parents that she was going to have to impress, she thought.
