When Sharpay came home, Ryan was nowhere to be found and Taylor was in her room. Sharpay knocked on Taylor's door and slowly opened it and walked inside. Taylor had her headphones in so she didn't hear Sharpay call her name. Sharpay walked over to Taylor and took one of Taylor's headphones out.
"What?" Taylor asked looking at Sharpay.
"There's a party going on tonight. You want to go?" Sharpay asked.
"On a school night?" Sharpay nodded her head. "No thanks, I'll pass." Taylor began to put her headphones back on.
"Chad will be there." Sharpay said.
Taylor looked at Sharpay and sighed.
Later that night the girls were at the house where the party was being held. They could hear loud music from outside of the house. Taylor looked around as she saw people smoking and drinking on the front porch.
"Sharpay, I don't think that this is a party we need to be at." Taylor said.
"It'll be fine, don't worry." Sharpay opened up the doors and the girls walked inside of the packed house. Taylor found Chad standing with the basketball team on a wall talking.
"I'm going to find Zeke." Sharpay said and she walked off.
Taylor looked back to see that Chad still with his friends. She slowly walked over to him and his friends. Their conversation died down and all eyes were on Taylor.
"McKessie, you look really good." Roger said to Taylor. Chad looked down at Roger and shook his head.
"Thanks Roger. Hi Chad." Taylor smiled at Chad who only smiled back.
Chad looked at his friends before they walked away, leaving Chad and Taylor alone.
"I'm sorry about earlier. Coach likes private practices to beā¦private." Chad said.
"It's okay. No need to apologize." Taylor said.
"I didn't think you'd show up." Chad said.
"Well at first I wasn't but then Sharpay told me you'd be here. So here I am." Taylor smiled.
"I heard Roger asked you out on a date." Chad looked back at Taylor. "Trevor told me."
"I said no." Taylor said.
"You think people are going to talk if they see us together." Chad said.
"of course they will." Taylor said.
Taylor looked around and smiled at the people who spoke to her. Taylor knew what she was about to was going to cause attention. She grabbed Chad's chin and made his eyes meet hers. She pulled him into a sweet and passionate kiss. She pulled away to see Chad lick his lips and look down at her.
"Want to go for a walk?" He asked.
"Yeah, let me go find Sharpay first and tell her that I'm leaving." Taylor told Chad who nodded his head.
"I'll meet you out front." He said.
Taylor nodded her head and walked away from Chad and walked around the house looking for Sharpay. She finally found Sharpay in the backyard in the swimming pool with Zeke and a lot of other kids from school. Sharpay was in her bra and panties which shocked Taylor.
"Shar!" Taylor shouted over the loud music.
Sharpay turned around and smiled when she saw Taylor. "Hey Tay, why don't you get in?"
"No thanks, I'll pass. Look Chad and I are leaving. I'll see you back at the house." Taylor said.
"Okay." Sharpay said.
Taylor and Chad walked out of the party hand in hand. They walked to the nearest park and sat down at the bench.
"So tell me, what was your first impression of me?" Taylor asked.
"When I met you at the party?" Taylor nodded her head.
Chad smiled and looked over at Taylor. She was shaking and he sat down next to her and gave her his basketball jacket.
"I thought you were so beautiful, I couldn't keep my eyes off of you." Chad looked over at her.
"I bet you said that to a lot of girls." Taylor said.
Chad shook his head no. "No, I haven't. I mean I been with a few girls but they were never really as special as you."
Taylor smiled to herself and put her head down as Chad spoke more. "I remember that day you came to school crying. I still don't know why but all I wanted to do was hold you."
Taylor looked up at Chad and spoke. "Yeah I was having a bad morning." Taylor held Chad's hand. "But you made it better."
Chad leaned in and so did Taylor. Taylor smiled when Chad's lips touched hers.
"Every time I see you I feel as if I'm meeting you all over again." Chad said.
"That's really beautiful." Taylor responded.
A police car drove through the park and Taylor and Chad watched it until it disappeared. Taylor turned her attention back to Chad. She got up and sat down on his lap and wrapped her arms around his neck.
"My mom is excited about you coming over tomorrow." Chad looked up at Taylor.
"I'm excited too. So what should I wear?" Taylor asked.
"I am not Sharpay or Gabriella." Chad joked.
"You're right." Taylor laughed. "I just want to look nice for your parents." Taylor rubbed Chad's head.
"Trust me, you look good wearing anything." Chad said.
Taylor giggled and buried her face into Chad's neck. "You charmer, you."
"Hey kids!" A light was flashed in Chad and Taylor's eyesight.
They both looked up to see a police officer with a flashlight in his hand.
"What are you two doing out here?" The officer asked.
"Just hanging out officer." Chad responded.
Taylor looked at the officer, not leaving her eyes off of him. She was scared.
"You two been drinking?" He asked.
"No sir." Chad responded.
"Have you been drinking?" The officer looked at Taylor.
Taylor shook her head no. "No sir."
"This neighborhood isn't safe at this time of night. You two get out of here. Go home." The officer said.
Taylor got off of Chad's lap. He held her hand as they walked away from the officer. They walked quietly back towards Sharpay's house.
"That was so weird." Taylor said.
"What was?" Chad asked.
"I never got questioned by a cop." Taylor shook her head.
"Yeah, me neither."
Taylor and Chad continued to walk in silence, hand in hand. They reached Sharpay's house and Chad walked Taylor to the door.
"No one is home; did you want to come inside?" Taylor asked.
"No, it's already late. I should be getting home. My mom is probably worried about me or something." Chad said.
Taylor nodded her head. "I understand."
Taylor took out a key to the house and began unlocking the door. Once she opened it she turned and looked at Chad.
"I'll see you tomorrow?" Chad asked with a smile.
Taylor nodded her head yes. Chad pulled Taylor closer to him before planting a kiss on her lips. He pulled away and slowly walked off the porch, not taking his eyes off of Taylor. Taylor smiled before she walked in the house and closed the door behind her.
"Mom! I'm home!" Chad yelled when he got home.
"What took you so long?" Chad's mother came from upstairs and met her son downstairs.
"I walked Taylor home." He explained.
Chad's mother nodded her head. She sat downstairs in the living room and Chad followed her.
"Where's dad?" Chad asked.
"Out." Chad's mom looked at her son. "Go to bed, it's late."
Chad's mom watched her son walk up the stairs. She walked over to the kitchen and picked up the house phone. She dialed her husband's number. After his phone went straight to voice mail, she hung up the phone and sighed. She pulled out a bottle of wine and a glass. She filled up her glass and took a sip. After having two glasses full of wine, she headed towards Chad's room. She slowly opened the door to find him sound asleep in his bed. Chad's mother smiled and walked over to her room. She lied down on the bed and drifted off into sleep.
The next morning when Chad woke up he smelled pancakes, eggs and breakfast. He smiled as he ran downstairs and entered the kitchen. He saw his mom sipping on some coffee while looking out of the window.
"Good morning mom." Chad greeted his mother.
"Morning baby. Breakfast will be ready soon, I'm just waiting on the bacon to finish." His mom said.
"Where's dad?" Chad asked.
"I'm right here." Chad's dad had made his way downstairs and into the kitchen. He placed his hand on his son's head. "Your mom told me you went to some party last night. How was it?"
Chad smiled, "it was okay. Taylor and I ended up leaving and we hung out at the park."
"Now Chad, I told you about being at the park late at night. They're weirdoes out there."
Chad nodded his head. His mother got up and took the bacon out of the oven. "Breakfast is ready."
Taylor woke up from her dream to hear someone shouting. Her eyes fluttered and she groaned in frustration. Taylor got out of the bed and headed to her door. She walked down to Sharpay's room and saw that her door was open. Taylor knocked on the door to let Sharpay know she was coming in.
"Hey Taylor." Sharpay was sitting on her bed with her phone up to her ear. "Did the yelling wake you up?"
"Yeah, but its okay. What's going on?" Taylor asked.
"Zeke, I'll call you later." Sharpay hung up the phone. She got up and closed her door and sat on the bed.
"Mom and dad had to come back from their trip a little earlier than expected." Sharpay said.
"Why?" Taylor asked.
"Ryan got arrested last night. My mom and dad had to get on the earliest flight back here." Sharpay said.
"Did they bail him out?" Sharpay nodded her head.
"That's what the yelling is downstairs. They're talking to him now. So what are you doing today?"
"Dinner with Chad and his parents." Taylor responded.
"Oh really?" Sharpay smiled. "Things are getting pretty serious huh?"
"You can say that." Taylor smiled.
"Taylor and Sharpay come downstairs." Sharpay's dad's voice was heard.
The girls walked down the stairs and sat down on the couch. Taylor looked over at Ryan who was standing up against the wall.
"We need to have a family meeting." Her mother said.
"What's going on?" Sharpay asked.
"Ryan is there something you need to tell your sister?" this time the dad spoke.
Ryan looked over at Sharpay and Taylor. "I dropped out of college."
Sharpay shook her head. "Why?"
"College just isn't for me. It's hard; I just didn't want to be there anymore." Ryan shrugged his shoulders.
"This is just like you, always quitting something." Sharpay responded.
"So until you find a job, and you will find a job because you will not be living up in here for free, you can stay in your old room." Her mom said.
"What were you arrested for?" Sharpay asked.
"Graffiti and drugs." Ryan put his head down after he looked at Taylor.
Sharpay scoffed and leaned back. "You guys should've left him in there."
"Now since you are back in the house means you follow our rules. You're grounded a whole month. You are not to leave this house unless you are going in for an interview for a job. We have a computer, you can fill out applications online." Sharpay's dad said. "Got it?"
Ryan nodded his head.
"Go to your room." The mom said.
Ryan walked up stairs to him room and closed his door.
