"Chloe, Chloe we gotta get out, now. Chloe wake up." Beca hissed, shaking the girl and almost glaring at the ever creaking floor boards with the intensity of her gaze. Chloe slowly came to and rubbed her eyes tiredly.

"What's wrong Becs? You should be sleeping…" she mumbled, Beca grabbed her face, managing to wake the girl immediately.

"Chloe, you have to listen to me and do not freak out, okay? Can you do that?"

Chloe nodded as fear trickled into her gut, seeing the feeling echoed into the brunet's eyes as they flickered around unconsciously.

"There is a hoard of zombies below us."

Now she was starting to realise why Beca was panicking.

"A- a hoard. Of zombies. Right… below us… huh. Um… are you sure I can't freak out? 'Cuz I would really like to right about now."

Beca tightened her grip and forced her face closer.

"Chloe we have to wake the others and leave as quietly as possible."

Chloe nodded and silently stood from the bed, picking up her weapons and noticing how Beca already had hers on her person.

"Let's go." Beca whispered, reaching for her hand and tugging her along.

They opened the door, wincing at the creak it made. They tiptoed out of the room, releasing each other's hands and getting a firmer grip on each of their weapons, Beca her blade and Chloe her gun, the knife held tightly in her other. Chloe had approached Aubrey and Stacie's room and was about to enter.

In their slight panic, they had both forgotten about Unicycle.

He had obviously heard them and walked up the wooden steps none to quietly; they both span to face him when he greeted them, also very loudly.

"Hey, what are you two do-"

Before he could finish his sentence a pair of pale hands had reached through the floor boards and ripped down the flimsy wood he was standing on, sending the boy crashing through the floor.

"Unicycle no!" Chloe shouted. Beca lunged forwards and snatched at the failing boy's arms, trying to pull him out of the hole, only something was pulling back.

Unicycle's screams and yells began to form into gurgles, like he was choking on water.

Beca looked to his mouth and saw blood spilling out. There was a sucking/snapping sound and with one last powerful tug she dragged him out of the hole, the yelling having caused the others to come running out of their rooms when she did.

They all simultaneously gasped in shock and horror.

Unicycle was not a whole person anymore.

His bottom half had been torn off.

No one really had time to react however when the same thing happened to Denise, only this time she fell in completely with a horrifying scream, growing worse when she landed. It happened again to Stacie, only she managed to jump out of the way in time, landing on her stomach a little ways from the hole. A stark white hand shot out and pulled on her leg, dragging her towards the hole. Aubrey screamed and grabbed onto Stacie's top half, Beca stepped forwards and with a quick slice detached the arm from its owner. She hauled them both to their feet as Greg was also pulled under the wood.

"Get off of the wood!" Beca shouted, they all rushed off of the raised wooden floor and sprinted to the solid ground, Beca standing at the top of the stairs and yelling at them to hurry as they ran past. Something grabbed at her foot and she quickly sliced down with her blade, she kicked the head of the zombie, which she then realised, was not in fact a Crawler.

"Oh God."

"Beca! Come on!" Chloe yelled, Beca looked down and saw that the zombies had started to crawl out from under the floor boards and now pretty much had her surrounded.

"Start running! I'll catch up to you!" she yelled back, slicing off the head of one zombie and kicking another in the chest as it staggered to its feet. "Go!"

"Chloe! Come on, let's go! She can handle herself!" Aubrey yelled, pulling roughly at Chloe's sleeve as she stood staring at the zombies who slowly started to pile in on the brunette.

"No, I'm not leaving her again!" Chloe growled, pulling out of Aubrey's grip and sprinting towards the Motel.

"Chloe!" she heard the blonde shout, but she did not stop.

She quickly shot one in the head, alerting the others to her presence. She spun one around and cut into its throat, ducking under another's wild swing and stabbing it once in the chest and again in its neck.

"Beca!" she shouted, not able to see the girl in the mass of undead creatures. She shot and sliced at the closest ones she could find, taking down a good portion, the whole time shouting for the other girl.

One zombie took her by surprise and slammed her against the wooden fence, it quickly snapped and they both fell roughly to the dirt ground, it started to swipe and snap at her face and despite pushing back with all her strength it remained resistant.

This isn't right, Crawlers aren't this strong.

It was then her arms gave out and it lunged for her neck.

Only to be stopped by a gunshot to its head.

Chloe pushed the lifeless body off of her and looked up, fully expecting the figure standing over her to be the one of her girlfriend.

So imagine how shocked she was when she saw who it was.

"Michal?"

The man gave another manic looking grin and pulled her to her feet, letting his gunk coated hand linger on hers for longer than necessary.

"Can't have you dying now can we? What with your… girlfriend, being oh so ready to kill me. Loosing you could make her do that."

Before Chloe could reply there was a slicing sound from up on the wooden deck. She ripped her hand from Michal's and jumped to her feet, smiling when she saw the cause of the sound.

Beca had finally emerged from the zombie pile on, slicing and hacking them down furiously. Her upper body was almost completely covered in black gunk yet it seemed she still managed to avoid any of the deadly bites. She jumped off of the wood when it caved in, sending the creatures falling into the area under it. She fell into a roll and spun with a swipe, cutting off a lone zombie's head with ease. Finally she stood a little out of breath before the duo.

"What did you do?" Chloe asked, watching as parts of the building started to collapse.

"I just destroyed some of the pillars holding the building up, shouldn't be long now until its grounded."

"Well we better go, there are probably more Crawlers inside." Michal mumbled. Beca shot him a glare and stepped closer to Chloe.

"They're not Crawlers." Beca mumbled.

"What do you mea-?"

"Not now, later. We need to get away from here, now!"

She grabbed onto Chloe's hand and started to sprint away from the slowly collapsing building. Michal looked at it in confusion as to why the girl would want to leave so suddenly, despite the obvious.

Then he saw the Motel start to move, but this time it moved upwards as something pushed against it. Something big.

"Shit…" he mumbled, spinning on his heel and running after the two girls who were already at the group and had gotten them to start sprinting off also.

~Ax~

The group had made it back into the forest and were leaning heavily against the trees, breathing deeply to try and calm their burning lungs. They had run a good three miles with their adrenalin pumping the entire time, now it was gone, most of them felt pretty much dead, the only exception of course being Beca.

Instead she stood over a body of water, looking down at her stained reflection. She knew what was going to come next, she knew what she would have to do.

"Hey, Beca, what's the plan of action?" Jesse asked expectantly, heaving himself off of his tree and standing, albeit a little wobbly, in front of the girl standing on a rock over the lake.

Beca sighed and turned away from her reflection and rubbed her face, wincing when she realised some of the gunk had got into her face cuts, she would have to wash them out too.

"I say we stay the night. Someone light a fire, I'll keep watch."

It was after all still night time, although she would guess it would probably be around three in the morning.

"Okay, I'll be right back, Benji, come with?" the other boy nodded and soon the two had walked off into the forest.

"Bec, what's wrong?"

Beca sighed again and sat on the rock with her legs swinging over the ledge and hovering over the water by a few inches. Chloe sat next to her and put a arm around Beca's shoulders, pulling her closer and resting her head on top of the brunette's. the other girl didn't speak after a while, and Chloe realised she probably wouldn't for sometime, as it was obvious she was thinking hard about something.

So instead she looked up to the night sky, a half moon shining along with the twinkling stars. She smiled as she remembered the last time she saw such a view.

It had been a little awkward at first, after all Chloe had just met this person who had saved her life. She had tagged along with the person called Beca, but the two didn't really talk much. But then Chloe started to get a little aggravated, she didn't want this person to leave.

So she asked if Beca could teach her some 'moves', so to speak, so she wasn't completely useless.

The mysterious girl had smiled and took her by the hand, leading her deeper into the forest. This time Chloe didn't care about the silence, as the heat radiating from the smaller girl's hand was filling her with a warmth she hadn't felt in years, and she didn't want to ruin it with her talking.

A few days later they were sleeping in a cave, Chloe had gone to sleep shivering from the cold, but had woken up surprisingly warm. She had looked over and saw that Beca had crawled over and hugged her from behind, warming her up with that warming heat yet again.

It was about three weeks after they had first met that Beca first kissed her, under the cloudless moonlit sky. She had been nervous at first, choking on her words and not quite making any sense. Chloe had feared the worse, that Beca had grown bored of her company and was about to ask if she could leave. Chloe felt her stomach drop and she uttered those heart breaking words.

"I can leave if you want."

Beca had frozen and looked up at her in shock. She shook her head and leaned up to quickly peck her on the lips, stepping away a second later and rubbing her neck awkwardly, looking to the ground with a frown.

Chloe had also stilled, her fingers going up to rest on her lips as she stood there in shock. Beca took her silence as a sign of rejection and started to shuffle away, that snapped her out of her daze.

She grabbed onto Beca's arm and spun her around, so they were both a breath away from each other's lips.

"Could you do that again please?" she hushed, smiling back to Beca.

Beca grinned and brought her arms around Chloe's waist, standing up on her tip toes and softly pressed their lips together.

"What are you thinking about?"

Chloe came out of her memory and grinned down at the girl.

"Us, how we first got together."

Beca grinned and leaned more into Chloe, playing with the fingers on her other hand.

"We've come so far since then."

"Yeah, we have."

Beca let out a breathy laugh and sighed in content. The two sat there in silence for a good half our, and Chloe thought that they would soon have to retire to bed, but she still had one last question to ask the girl.

"Becs? What did you mean earlier, you sad they weren't Crawlers, right?"

Beca sat up and leaned on her knees, staring down at the water and tapped it with her foot and sent ripples rolling over it. She grimaced at the gunk still on her face and whipped at it with the back of her palm.

"And how come you're so covered in that stuff? I know some zombies leak but most don't that much…" then Chloe trailed off and her eyes widened, she whipped her head over to Beca who was now frowning at the now still water.

"Oh my God… Beca…" Chloe cupped her mouth, feeling tears fight to break out.

"They were Trackers. You know what they are like." She mumbled, flicking some dirt off of her arm.

Of course Chloe knew what Trackers were like. They were like wasps in some sense, a bunch of smaller workers/hunters, and a Queen. If you kill a Tracker, their sent goes on you and if it was not washed off immediately it would seep into your skin, causing pain and also becoming a scented beam of some sorts for the still living workers and the Queen. They would hunt you down, seeing you as a threat against the rest of them. They would not stop until either the person their hunting, or they themselves, are dead.

"They will be here in a few hours."

"Okay, then we will keep moving, or maybe even find a position of advantage against them, or-"

"I'm not staying here Chlo."

"No. Not again. You will not be leaving us, leaving me, again. There has to be another way-"

"There is no other way-"

"There has to be!" Chloe yelled, standing to her feet and glaring down at the still girl, luckily the group were all out cold besides the fire, so no shouting would wake them.

"Don't you understand? I have had it with you running off and being the hero. You don't need to go on your own anymore Becs, you have me, let me help, let us help."

"Chloe you haven't been marked, you are clean; you could lead them to safety."

"But I won't without you. So either you come with us or we go with you. Either way you are not going alone."

"Look I ju-" Beca was cut off by her own hiss of pain, she dropped to her knees and held her arms to her chest, scrunching her eyes together as the black gunk started to burn.

"Becs? Shit, Becs what can I do?"

Beca shook her head and in her painful state accidently kicked out and pushed off of the rock, falling non to gracefully into the water with a large splash.

"Beca!"

Chloe almost tore off her leather jacket and threw it on the rock, diving into the water perfectly. It was hard to see at first, as the water was almost black in the night, leaving little vision for her, plus she was surprised at how deep the lake actually was once in the water. She looked in all directions but see no sign of the girl, until a group of bubbles floated up and past her face. Her eyes widened and she snapped her gaze down, locking onto the pale face of her girlfriend slowly sinking to the bottom, still thrashing around as she did.

Chloe turned her body downwards and started to swim quickly after the girl. She reached Beca and put one of the girl's arms over her shoulder, using one of hers to hold Beca to her body. She started to kick and swim up to the surface, but the girl had started to go limp in her arms, and her oxygen was steadily depleting.

With a final kick, Chloe broke the surface, making sure Beca was above water level and taking gasping breaths. She started to swim to shore as quickly as she could and was soon bringing the other girl onto the sandy surface.

She bent down and started to do CPR when Beca failed to start breathing.

"28, 29, 30." She pinched Beca's nose and did two rescue breaths, then moved back to do the chest compressions.

"29, 30." Once again she did the same, becoming more and more concerned when Beca didn't even stir.

"Come on damn it!" she yelled as she once again got to thirty, then she gave Beca the kiss of life once again.

Beca was still for a moment, Chloe sat there; sweat mixing with the lake water and tears, as she waited for something to happen, anything.

Then Beca convulsed, she started to cough and water splurted from her mouth. She leaned over and started to cough lake water from her lungs with Chloe sat right behind her, tapping her back and smiling massively that she was animated again.

Beca sat up and shook her head, hissing as the areas where the gunk used to be burned, but a lot less painful as they were before.

"The fuck just happened?"

Chloe lunged at her and wrapped her in a tight embrace, crying into her shoulder and almost crushing her with the hug.

"You are such a dumbass!" Chloe laughed, not finding any humour in the situation, just happy the Beca hadn't left her just yet.

"And you are amazing Chloe, what did I tell you?" Beca hugged her back.

"It would have been embarrassing huh? The Great Beca Mitchell, Slayer of Zombies and Other Things Which Piss Her Off, killed by a lake."

Beca snorted and kissed Chloe's neck, going to answer, when she saw someone come crashing through the bushes near where their camp was.

"Hey Chlo, I don't think I will be going alone anymore."

Chloe turned to see what Beca was looking at, frowning at what she saw.

Michal was sat by the water edge, hissing, and holing his burning hand under the water.

"It had to be him huh?" she asked, knowing there was no real way to stop Beca from going. Beca nodded in agreement.

"It had to be him."
