Chapter 12
My Friend… Whisp?
It was three days after my birthday when Whisp appeared in my dreams again. I hadn't let go of her ring since I found it in my pocket, it stayed on a chain around my neck.
I was back in the old church yard: only this time I saw a statue of an angel; she was on her knees, her head raised to the sky, her hands folded, and stone tears were frozen on her cheeks
"It's sad isn't," Whisp stood behind me looking at the statue "An angel thrown from heaven"
"Why have you brought me back here?" I asked
"I didn't, you did that yourself" she said her black eyes looking into my own blue-hazel ones
"What are you talking about?" I snapped
"You wished it and I came" she said
"Why?" I asked
"Let me begin my explanation with a story" She said with a devious smirk "Sixty years ago a young Sophietia Riddle was drown by her fellow Slytherin class mates, including her twin brother Tom"
"Wait Tom Riddle as in Lord Voldemort?" I said
"Exactly" she said "Her soul began to seek revenge, so she conjured magic to summon the shadow of her brother's closest follower, myself. And because she was the one who summoned me she was able ensnare me as her slave; with that ring that is dangling around your neck she has been able to control me. I managed to steal it before the second task and slip it into your pocket while you we passed out in the bottom of the lake."
"And yet I still don't believe that story" I said "Because you are the shadow of Bellatrix LaStrange, why should I trust you?"
"You said it yourself, I am completely sane" she said "A shadow is the exact opposite of its original"
I thought for a moment "That's why you told me about Scorpius' mother isn't it? Because you're actually a good person"
"Yes" she said "You now are in control of me Child of the Elements, do not let my ring fall back into the hands of Sophietia"
"I will try my best" I said "Why does she want people's shadows?"
"The weaker people without shadows become the stronger and closer she becomes to regaining her physical form"
"I'm so massively screwed, aren't I?"
"Not entirely"
"How so?"
"Not shown in your journal, is the reason why you're called the Child of the Elements" she said gently touching the statue's face as if wishing she could wipe away the angel's tears "You can master all five of the elements you can stop her from destroying the world"
"Five? I thought there were only four" I said
"A fifth element one of pure energy and power" she said with a saddened look upon her pale face "You'll start with the easiest element which is fire, then water, then earth, then air, and lastly energy"
"You'd think fire would be on of the hardest to control" I said
Whisp turned to me "Fire is steady, water is forceful, earth is solid, and air is uncontrolled as well as energy: I shall help you control each one of these elements Child, if you trust me"
"I do trust you Whisp" I said "Just promise me you wont hurt anyone"
"You have my word" she said
"Not good enough"
"I swear upon the River Styx that I will not betray you" She said I raised my brow "An oath upon the River Styx cannot be broken without death in the process"
"Alright, Whisp I believe you" I said I held out my hand "Friends?"
She looked at my hand as if it were a foreign object "Friends" she said accepting my hand nervously
"You've never shook someone's hand before, have you?"
"No I have not" she said with a cautious laugh
"What happened to Enobaria?" I asked thinking about my fellow fifth year
"She is Sophietia's slave now, I'm sorry" she said "You are starting to awaken you must go now Child of the Elements"
"Please call me Rose" I said as I could see myself begin to fade away
"Very well Rose" she said "I shall see you again soon"
"Of course" I said as the Church Yard, the statue, and Whisp disappeared from sight
I woke up in my bed drenched in a cold sweat
"Morning Rosie" Elsa said tying her shoes and getting ready for class
"Morning Elise" I said rubbing my eyes before getting out of bed and getting ready for school
I told Clove, Elsa, Scorpius, Albus, Lily, Hugo, and Anna to meet me by the lake after school, there is a lot of stuff we needed to talk about
After seemingly endless classes, I finally met my friends (and boyfriend) by Black Water Lake. I told them everything
They all sat, jaws dropped
"Is anyone going to say anything?" I asked
"How can you possibly trust Whisp?" Clove asked
"She swore on the River Styx that she wasn't lying" I said
"Damn" Clove said everyone looked at her (She seemed to be the only one who knew what that meant) "If you break and oath on the River Styx you will die; Whisp isn't lying"
"It's also why she told me about your mother" I said holding Scorpius' hand "She's not evil"
"What about Enobaria?" he asked
"She is a slave to Sophietia now" I said "I made sure to ask"
"Why am I having a hard time believing this?" he asked
"Because she poisoned your mother, and I understand that," I said "But do you trust me Scorpius?"
"More than anything" he said
"Then please trust me on this" I said
"Fine" he said
"Why does it have to be us?" Elsa said softly
"What do you mean, El?" Anna asked
"Why does it have to be us to stop this Sophietia?!" She burst "Why couldn't this prophecy have bothered some other group of friends?!"
"I don't know El" I said "But it's us for a reason, and we are not going to let this world fall into darkness"
My friends looked at me, in their eyes I could see they we scared
I stood "If we, the three of the elemental harmony of legend, don't protect this world; who will? No one" I said "We can't back down from this fight, it's happening in our literal back yard; we're going to stand strong and fight"
I saw my friends looking up to me as if I were a king giving a pep talk
"We will rise to the challenge and fight for the people of not only Hogwarts and the wizarding world, but the people of the Muggle world as well" I stated with power in my voice
"We will follow you into battle Rose" Clove said standing the rest stood soon after her; I put my hand out and the rest placed theirs atop of mine
"We shall be the knights of Hogwarts!" I said "and together we will save the world from darkness!"
We all threw are hands into the air
Later I sat in my dorm room for some peace and quite while I did my homework. I wasn't alone.
"Nice speech earlier" Whisp stood standing against one of the bed posts
"I had to brighten up their mood some how" I said looking up from my home work "They were terrified"
"So were you" she said walking over to a chair next to my bed "you know you kind of sounded like King Arthur back there"
"That's what I was going for" I said "Either that or Cesar"
"Truly inspirational" she said
"Was that sarcasm in your voice?"
"Just a tad"
"I just hoped it worked"
"Don't worry everything will be fine"
I have gotten use to her gruff, echoy, voice since we first met, but it now seemed softer and more here, as if it was becoming more… human?
"They look at you as if you're a Queen you know" she said "A true leader"
"I wouldn't say that" I said
"You are basically King Arthur and your friends are your knights of the round table" she laughed
"Oh great now I'm a king" I said turning my attention back to my home work "Where's my Excalibur?"
She laughed
My family's owl flew through the window holding a package with holes in the side of it
"Huh?" I said taking it from the owl and I read the note
Happy late birthday Rosie we hope you like him

"We hope you like him?" I said confused
I opened the box and saw a small white kitten, with big blue eyes, and a squeaky meow
"Aww it's so cute" Whisp said
"Hey there little guy" I said playing with it as it batted at my hands with its tiny paws
"What are you going to call him?" she asked
"Hmm…Tedros" I decided
"What kind of a name is that?" she asked
"It's cute just like him" I said picking up the cat
"Okay, but I'm calling him Teddy"
"That's okay" I said hugging the cat close
I looked at the clock 7:00
"I got to go" I said
"Where are you going?"
"To hang out with Scorpius"
"You taking the cat with you?"
"Yes"
I left my room after Whisp disappeared and met Scorpius in the court yard
"Hey" he said standing up from a bench
"Hey" I said "I'd like you to meet my new kitty, Tedros"
I held up the kitten
"Aww hey there little guy" he said, the kitten licked his hands "I'm calling him Teddy"
"That's okay, you're not the first" I said
"Elsa?"
"Whisp" I said quietly, I knew he still doesn't like her
"You talked to her?" he said
"Yeah she talked to me while I was doing my homework in my dorm" I said "She is actually not bad to talk to"
I gnawed on my lip, afraid he'd be a little mad
"As long as she doesn't do anything bad, I'm okay with it" He said reading my mind
"Thank you" I said hugging him
He kissed the top of my head
"As I said, I trust your judgment and know you'll make the right decision" he said
"Thank you for trusting me" I said I looked up at him and laughed a little
"What?" he asked
"Teddy's on your head" I said laughing a little more
Scorpius took my kitten off his head
"He's a little ninja, isn't he?"
"He is" I laughed more
I spent about an hour with Scorpius before heading back to my dorm room
I couldn't sleep and since tomorrow is Saturday I decided to stay up and do something creative: I began to do charcoal drawings
I drew Elsa, Clove, and Whisp first thing but I drew two girls I had no idea who they were: The first reminded me of a Barbie doll, with fare skin and dark-ish hair and lighter eyes with the face shape of a Barbie doll. The second had a childish like look to her with dark hair and medium eyes she was simply beautiful.
"Who are these two?" I wondered aloud looking over to Tedros "What do you think Teddy?"
"The Barbie doll is Sophietia" Whisp said appearing out of nowhere, her echoy voice trolling with hatred
"And the other?" I said looking down at the second, she seemed so familiar
"I have no idea" she said
I took Nyaid's journal out and there she was a picture of the first Child of the Elements, Angel: the thing is I hadn't gotten to that page yet and I hadn't seen her before
"Her name is Angel and she was the first Child of the Elements" I said
"That explains a lot" she said "You and her are connected"
"Yeah" I said fatigue finally getting to me "I wish I knew her"
"Go get some sleep Rose. You're about to fall asleep where you sit" she said
"Yeah you're right" I said gathering my charcoal drawings and my kitten and I walked to my room and fell asleep
